Disconnect VPN Client
Hi,
I have installed a VPN Server using Easy VPN Server.
What is the command to show VPN Clients connecting to the VPN server?
How do I disconnect a VPN Client connection?
Cheers,
peiwai
Thanks!
That's what you need to do:
1. Session monitoring
show crypto session summary
R100#sh crypto session summary Group ezvpngrp has 1 connections User (Logins) cisco (1)Group ezvpngrp2 has 1 connections User (Logins) cisco2 (1)
show crypto session and show cryption session detail will provide more details
2. User administrative disconnect:
R100#clear crypto session ?
active Clears HA-enabled crypto sessions in the active state
fvrf Front-door VRF
ikev2 Clear ikev2 sessions
isakmp Clear crypto sessions belonging to the group
ivrf Inside VRF
local Clear crypto sessions for a local crypto endpoint
remote Clear crypto sessions for a remote IKE peer
standby Clears HA-enabled crypto sessions in the standby state
username Clear crypto sessions of a user
clear crypto session username vpnuser would disconnect the user with the name vpnuser
Let me know if this answer your question.
Cheers,

Route remain in the routing table after disconnect vpn client
I have configured a 2811 with pppoe and fix ip address with adsl, the use it as easy vpn server and another 2811 configured as easy vpn client also use pppoe connect to random ip address adsl.
I just want to ask that why the route is remained after i disconnect remote easy vpn.I am facing the same issue for my easy vpn server and clients.
My Cisco 3825 has an easy vpn server configuration with an ip pool. When one of the client disconnects and his isakmp sa deleted by router itself. The route pointing to the ip pool's ip address is still in routing table!!! This time another vpn client connects and get the same ip pool's ip address. But, this new connected vpn client is located on another interface of the router. So, an extreme problem occur! A route pointing to 2 next hops is created! So bad!
Can another help me? How can I delete the bad route?
Thanks!

VT Advantage vs. VPN client
Hi,
i have aproblem with cooperations between VT Adv. and VPN client. When i have installed both app. on my computer there is a problem with disconnecting VPN client. When i connect everything works fine but when i want disconnect there is a blue screen. I found the problem is with compatibility with VT Advantage. When I have only VPN client installed there is no problem..
Do you have any idea?
I tried few versions of both app in same time..Does your system have the following minimum requirements?
Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional (SP3 or later) or Windows XP Professional (SP1 or later)
1 GHz or higher Pentium III or compatible processor (Streaming Single Instruction-Stream, Multiple Data-Stream [SIMD] Extensions support required), 1.4 GHz or higher compatible processor recommended
256 MB RAM minimum
40 MB free disk space
Video-capable graphics card at 800x600x16 bit or better
USB 1.1 or 2.0
For more information regarding Cisco VT advantage follow the url,

VPN Client disconnection from command line
Hi,
I want to connect to IPsec VPN on ISA500 by VPN Client (v 5.0.07.0440, the last version, I think), using command line parameters.
I can connect with the command:
"%programfiles%\Cisco Systems\VPN Client\ipsecdialer.exe" -c -user myUser -pwd myPassword "MyConnectionEntry"
but i don't know the command to disconnect from command lines.
If I do
"%programfiles%\Cisco Systems\VPN Client\ipsecdialer.exe" -?
I obtain the list of parameters
vpngui [-c | -sc [sd] [-user <username>] [-pwd <password> ! -eraseuserpwd]] <connection entry>
but I don't unterstand what I have to do... I try every combination using -sd parameter (I think means for silent disconnect), but in every case I can only to show VPN interface without disconnect anything...
Can anyone help me?
ThanksPrasath,
This appears to be a data flow issue. You need to look in the dataflow log file. Your information indicates the project name is SAMPLES.xml, and the data flow ID is D20091213_014350765. Look at the data flow log file in
C:\dqxi\11_7\repository\configuration_rules\runtme_metadata\project_SAMPLES\D20091213_014350765
Alternatively, you can temporarily replace the transactional reader and writter transforms with their corresonding batch transforms, and run the job from the Project Architect. Any errors will be displayed in the Running window.

Please Help - CISCO VPN client disconnecting over wireless adapter
Hi,
I connect to my work network when at home using the CISCO VPN client. I have a wireless connection at home. My vpn conection had no problem until my laptop once dropped hitting the wireless card reader side on the floor. since then, my vpn disconnects after some time. And this also disconnects my wireless connection at home. When I am not connected to work through th eVPN, we have no problems with my wireless connection. But, when I need to work from home, my vpn keeps getting disconnected and throws me off my wireless conenction too everytime. Can someone please tell me how to check if anything is wrong with the laptop?Ok lets see if we can clear somethings up.
Using wireless and VPN before the "Drop" was ok?
Using Wireless and no VPN after the "Drop" is fine?
Using Wireless and VPN after the "Drop" causes the wireless adapter to disconnect?
If this is correct probally the best thing to do is to remove the cisco VPN software and reinstall it.
It can't be anything to do with the "Drop" as using normal wireless is working fine you say.
and the Cisco VPN Adapter is Virtual.
Let me know how you get on. -

Cisco VPN Client Disconnecting Frequently. Reason:422
I am connecting to ASA 5510 8.4 via Cisco VPN Client 5.x.
It connects successfully but automatically disconnects after random time. sometimes after 20 min. Reason 422.
Log is here:

Marking IKE SA for deletion (I_Cookie=01B4ED6301CEA667 R_Cookie=C19DF922DE63146A) reason = DEL_REASON_ADDRESS_CHANGE
But I don't see any address change on my LAN adapter.
Help please. Can you add 'isakmp keepalive threshold infinite' to the VPN tunnel group properties. Then see if the problem resolves?

Cisco VPN Client Random Disconnects
I am connecting to our ASA5510 via Cisco VPN client version 5.x. I am getting continuous disconnects at random times. I have never had a connection last more than 10 minutes. The disconnects happen when the session is idle and also when the session is active. I have had the connection drop on me in the middle of a file transfer even. I have set the session timeout to unlimited but no help. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
KenThe reason for that disconnection might be one of the following:
1) You reached an idle timeout.Increase the idle timeout value.
2) Someone cleared the tunnel.check for the tunnel configuration.
3) Your SA has a very short lifetime.
check if isakmp nat-t is enabled. If not enable the same and check for the issue.
check if TunnelEstablished Registry key is set to 0 which is the right one.

Remote Access VPN Clients Cannot Access inside LAN
I have been asked to set up remote access VPN on an ASA 5505 that I previously had no invlovement with. I have set it up the VPN using the wizard, they way I normally do, but the clients have no access to anything in the inside subnet, not even the inside interface IP address of the ASA. Thay can ping each other. The remote access policy below that I am working on is labeled VPNPHONE, address pool 172.16.20.1-10. I do not need split tunneling to be enabled. The active WAN interface is the one labeled outside_cable.

: endHi,
You have your "group-policy" set so that you have excluding some networks from being tunneled.
In this access-list named Local_LAN_Access you specify "0.0.0.0"
Doesnt this mean you are excluding all networks from being tunneled? In other words no traffic goes to your tunnel.
This access-list should only contain your local LAN network from where you are connecting with the VPN Client. If you dont need to access anything on your local LAN while having the VPN on, you don't even need this setting on. You could just tunnel all traffic instead of excluding some networks.

ASA 5505 VPN client LAN access problem
Hello,
I'm not expert in ASA and routing so I ask some support the following case.
There is a Cisco VPN client (running on Windows 7) and an ASA5505.
The goals are client could use remote gateway on ASA for Skype and able to access the devices in ASA inside interface.
The Skype works well but I cannot access devices in the interface inside via VPN connection.
Can you please check my following config and give me advice to correct NAT or VPN settings?

Any ideas what I need to add to get the vpn client to be able to ping the router and clients?
Thanks.I tried that and it didn't work. As for upgrading the ASA version, I'd like to but this is an old router and I don't have a support contract with Cisco anymore, so I can't access the latest firmware.

: endHello Wayne,
Can you use a different subnet range than the internal interface, this could cause you a LOT of issues and hours on troubleshooting, so use a dedicated different Ip address range...
I can see that the local Pool range is included into the inside interface Ip address subnet range, change that and the related config ( NAT,etc, ) and let us know what happens,
Regards,
Julio

Windows VPN clients can't use network servers after 10.5.1 upgrade
We have two Xserves, both formerly running 10.4.11. One is the OD master, the other a replica. The replica is also the VPN server, and is a DHCP server for the small number of IP addresses reserved for VPN clients.
The OD master upgrade went fine. I completely reinstalled the OD replica, set the replica up again, and set up the VPN server. It supports L2TP/IPsec connections only.
After the upgrade, Mac users running Tiger or Leopard can connect to the VPN server and connect to network services without any problems. Windows users can connect, but cannot actually USE anything on my office network. For example, if you try to connect to a web server either by fully qualified domain name or by hostname, the connection from the browser simply times out.
In the Windows command line I can verify that I have an active connection by pinging and using the tracert command (equivalent of traceroute on UNIX). Hostname resolution works, too. But nothing happens when you try to open a web browser, which is mostly what my users need to do.
It doesn't matter whether you're logging in with an OD user account or a local account defined solely on the VPN server. Same behavior in Windows.
I had to take an older XServe running 10.4.11 out of our data center, move it to the office, and set it up on the same external network connection. 10.4.11 server works, 10.5.1 doesn't, from the same Windows client, set up exactly the same way.
I've been through the hoops with Apple Enterprise support, who now tell me that Engineering kicked it back to them and told them they'd charge me $695 to get it fixed, because it's ostensibly custom configuration work. If that's true, why is Windows XP listed under L2TP/IPSec support on page 127 of the Leopard Network Services Admin guide? I don't want a custom fix, I just want it to work the way it's supposed to work. Or I want Apple to retract the claim that OS X Server is the best workgroup server solution for Macs and Windows.
Anyone else encounter this problem or know of a fix?Had the same problems, started after i tried out the firewall in Leopard server.
Seems that not all settings are reset even after turning the firewall off.
To reset the firewall to its default setting:
1 Disconnect the server from the Internet.
2 Restart the server in single-user mode by holding down the Command-s keys during
startup.
3 Remove or rename the address groups file found at /etc/ipfilter/
ipaddressgroups.plist.
4 Remove or rename the ipfw configuration file found at /etc/ipfilter/ipfw.conf.
5 Force-flush the firewall rules by entering the following in Terminal:
$ ipfw -f flush
6 Edit the /etc/hostconfig file and set IPFILTER=-YES-.
7 Complete the startup sequence in the login window by entering exit:
The computer starts up with the default firewall rules and firewall enabled. Use Server
Admin to refine the firewall configuration.
8 Log in to your server’s local administrator account to confirm that the firewall is
restored to its default configuration.
9 Reconnect your host to the Internet.
This solved the problem for me... -
Hi!
I wish someone can help me on this, I'm a new guy on cisco firewalls and I'm currently implementing cisco asa 5512x, here are the details:
ISP -> Firewall -> Core switch -> Internal LAN
after installing the cisco asa and terminating the appropriate lan for the outside and inside interfaces, internet seems intermittent and cisco vpn client can connect with internet connection but can't ping internal LAN.
here's my configuration from my firewall.

thanks. please help.I think you should change your nat-exemption rule to smth more general, like
nat (inside,outside) source static any any destination static NETWORK_OBJ_10.10.10.0_28 NETWORK_OBJ_10.10.10.0_28 no-proxy-arp route-lookup
'cause your inside networks are not the same as your vpn-pool subnet.
Plus, if you're trying to reach inside subnets, different from 10.152.11.0 255.255.255.0 (ip from wich subnet is assignet to your inside interface, and for wich above nat exception should be enough), you should check if routing is configured from that subnets to your vpn-pool-subnet through the ASA. -
Hi all,
I've got several win ce handheld devices that connects to an asa through a 3rd party vpn client, the asa is configured to authenticate the clients against a microsoft isa server and to provide ip address to clients by the way of an external dhcp server (ms domain controller).
All is working fine, except that when the devices goes standby the vpn gets disconnected, then the asa releases the client ip address and chances are high that at the next connection the client gets dfferent ip address, this is an issue for an old application that takes into account the ip address of the client.
I'm not aware of a way to assign the ip address to the clients using a radius attribute within ias, so I wonder if there is a way to force the dhcp to assign always the same ip address in such a situation.
Bye,
Max.Hi Max
"asa is configured to authenticate the clients against a microsoft isa server "
I dont know how you authenticate to ISA, but if you mean IAS, then yes you can always assign same IP to a user.
You can achieve this by double-clicking desired user to assign static IP to, in Active Directory Users And Computers snap-in, Click Dial-In options, then click assign static IP address and assign desired IP.
