Disconnecting produces lots of connect splash windows
Hello forum,
today I downloaded SQL Developer 1.1.0.23.64 and experienced a strange behaviour when disconnecting from Oracle.
I run SQL Developer on Debian Linux against an Oracle 10.2 on Solaris. After connecting, I enter e.g. select * from dual and press F9.
Then I right click on the connection an select Disconnect.
Now a spash window pops up saying "Connecting to atlas - la" (that is the name of the connection". It has an abort button, that does nothing. When I move the window away. There is another one beneath it. As I'm writing this I have 11 of these windows on my desktop (Windowmaker).
Regards,
dhalek
Basically, there is a bug with SQL Developer in that it attempts to connect again after disconnecting in certain circumstances (maybe as simple as SQL Worksheet open that has been used for the connection).
Where you save passwords, this doesn't produce a big problem, although it is keeping the connection open by reconnecting. Where you don't save passwords, this locks up SQL Developer and you need to use kill SQL Developer to get out of the "Connecting to ..." loop (at least I do).
As le848dave indicated in their post, even the work-arounds of saving passwords or closing worksheets before disconnecting doesn't completely avoid the problem.
Has anyone on the SQL Developer team seen this thread, as I have not recognised any of the responders as being in the team?

I have a time capsule directly connected to fibre optic point out. All pcs and macs are connected wirelessly to the internet. I have connected a windows server pc to TC. When configured for Remote desktop connection, I can access windows server from within interanet but don't know how to access it from internet. I guess I need to change some settings in TC to get some ip adress for the remote desktop connection from my home. Anyone who can help me out? Appreciate it.
NarminI am a little lost now.. I have read again your title and your first post.. and they seem inconsistent.
In the title you state.
From my interanet I can access srvr but not from my home.
Interanet is not a word I know.. I assumed intranet...are you talking about internet or intranet? And just to be clear say WAN or LAN.. !! Is your home part of the interanet??
In the first post you state,
I can access windows server from within interanet but don't know how to access it from internet.
Now this is more normal.. the issue is not in the home at all, it is accessible from there but fails from internet. If this is correct, then you can do a few obvious things to determine where the problem is.
But first I need to know are you actually testing from a different internet connection to your home lan.. you are not just trying the public IP from inside the LAN as that will fail due to the TC not doing NAT Loopback.
I am also assuming the TC is the only router in the network, and has the public IP on the WAN interface.
And I am also assuming you have turned on the ping responder and you can actually ping your public ip from the internet and get a response. This helps no end in figuring out where there are issues. Strange but I have no idea if there is a ping responder in the TC WAN so you might need to forward that as well. Also if you have a dynamic public ip address are you using dyndns or no-ip or some other service to connect.
1. Test bypassing the TC.. plug the internet connection straight into the windows server,, and test if you have access. If yes, the TC is the problem.. if not, your setup on the windows server is wrong.. look at firewall in particular.
2. Assuming from test 1 the TC is the problem, Post the screen shots of the port forwarding setup for us to look at.. that is by far the easiest way to check it out.
There are lots of references to port forwarding in the TC.. eg
http://must-know-mac.blogspot.com/2008/07/how-to-port-forward-time-capsule.html
The things that generally go wrong are firewall on the computer that is accepting the port.
The ISP doesn't allow connections on a particular port. (not likely in your case)
The router is behind another router.. double NAT will kill any port forward.
Upnp has already allocated a port.. not an issue as TC doesn't use upnp although a reboot of everything after you set port forwards is well worth it.. amazing how things don't stick properly without a reboot.
IP on the receiving device is not static and so changes.
Not enough or right type of ports are opened. This is always messier than it looks as one port is often not enough for two way communications. -
I recently bought an Ipod touch 2nd gen, (Ebay). It's in great shape and seemed to be wiped clean.
When I connect (via windows computer) to Itunes with usb cord the Ipod icon shows, but the only function you can do is eject. When its in the upper right hand corner and you click on it all you get is a done button, when it's in the side bar right click and your only option is eject, left click has no effect. If I go to "file">devices it's as if there are no devices connected.
I purchased a song with Itunes on the Ipod itself, and it transferred to my library on the computer automatically .
I have an Iphone 5 and a nano that are still functioning with Itunes thru computer so I'm thinking the issue is with the Ipod touch. I've reset it several times, rebooted it, with no change.
nothing on the internet has helped, I called tech support and got disconnected. Should I take it to a retail store? I just don't know where to go next, I'm of course willing to pay for tech or repair. looking for suggestions.Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

my ipod nano (2nd generation) wont connect with windows or itunes, i used it last week (charged it through USB) then this week when i connect it (once again through USB) it wont work, it says "windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems" any help? ive made sure my itunes is up to date, done a reboot on my computer and ipod and still nothing..help please
This could either be a conflict with the iPod's docking port, the iPod's USB sync cable, or even the USB port you are plugging the iPod into on your PC. So the first thing I would try and do is plug the iPod into a different USB port on your PC. Make sure it's a high powered USB 2.0 port as they provide a higher power throughput than older USB ports or even the ones that are sometimes available on the front of the tower.
It might help to disconnected all other USB devices from the PC (minus the keyboard and mouse) and reboot the PC. Then reconnect the iPod once again.
If still no luck, swap out the cable with another known working cable to rule out the possibility of a damaged or faulty cable.
Lastly, plug the iPod into another PC to see if it's recognized there. If the same error appears on another machine, it's likely a hardware issue with the Nano meaning you'll want to have it serviced or replaced.

On OSX, the Wifi works perfectly. I rarely if ever get disconnected from the internet. However, when I switch over to Windows 7, the internet drops constantly (every 30 seconds or so).
I recently updated my OSX to the newest one (I think Yosemite) that released in December, which wiped out my Windows 7 operating system. Thus, I reinstalled windows 7 on my computer and everything works just like it used to except for the internet dropping 24/7. The weird thing about it is that whenever I "diagnose" the internet connection when it drops, the internet seems to come back to life again (for the short 30 seconds that it's up). I'm not sure why it's doing this. The internet didn't drop constantly on my previous Windows 7 until I reinstalled it.
The internet works fine with a different internet connection on Windows 7, which makes me think that the problem has to do with my internet or router... Has anyone had this problem? Restarting the router didn't do anything.Do yu have any other Macs running Yosemite on your WiFi Network?

Nothing has changed between my network, Windows 7 computer or my iPad besides the upgrade of the ios app software to 8.1.5. Did not used to have any issues connecting but now when I try to connect, I get the above error when logging in.
I have tried reinstalling the ios app with no success and also confirmed I can still remote desktop to the PC from another PC with the credentials I've always been using.
I've also tried explicitly including the domain when entering the username with no luck. Looked through my Windows 7 event logs and can't find any more information on what this error means.
Has anyone seen anything similar or have any ideas what I can do to troubleshoot? Thanks!Hi,
I have a same problem.
Although RD Client 8.1.4 worked great, now I cannot connect to Windows 7 Professional computer from my iPhone 5 (iOS 6.1.4) since the latest update.
Same as Twiggles, when I try to log in (just after entering username and password), the app gives me error code 0x507 "Disconnected from server".
Note that I connect to my PC over VPN using Cisco AnyConnect app.
After that, I've tried to connect to my PC in two different ways with same network settings as the above situation.
1. Use different remote app
I've tested free version of "PocketCloud" from Dell Wyse, and I CAN connect to my PC.
2. Use different version of iOS
I've tested the latest RD Client 8.1.5 on my another iPhone (5s) with iOS 8.1, and I CAN connect to my PC.
Therefore, I assume our 0x507 is not setting related, but probably some sort of iOS version dependent problem arise from the latest update.
Even though I tried PocketCloud, I believe RD Client is the BEST app for remote desktop for iOS.
I strongly hope this problem will be solved!
Thanks. -
Disconnect all active Essbase connections using VBA code in Excel
Hi All,
I am currently using the below code to disconnect the active essbase connection. It works fine but it shows me a windows with the list of active essbase connections and I have to select each essbase connection and click disconnect. I want a vba code which will disconnect / kill all active connections of Essbase at one go. for e.g. I have 10 worksheets connected to different databases in Essbase. I want a code which will disconnect all 10 sheets at one go. Please expedite. Thanks for your help in advance.
Private Sub MDisConn()
On Error Resume Next
EssError = EssMenuVDisconnect()
ErrorBox
End SubHi,
You could use EssVDisconnect which takes a sheet name and does not open the disconnect login box.
Declare Function EssVDisconnect Lib "ESSEXCLN.XLL" (ByVal sheetName As Variant) As Long
Sub DisConn()
X=EssVDisconnect("Sheet1")
End Sub

Saved component splash window is blank
I use components a lot, but have lots of annoyance with the splash window that happens - when you save a component, then GoLive tells you about updating the pages that use the component, then it does it . . . and then there's a splash window that tells you (in so many words) -
Updated [ok]
Except that this last splash is quite often completely white/blank, with no way of getting rid of it - no [x] in the top corner, nothing.
Does anyone else have this problem? Causes? Solutions?
Thanks, NickGoLive CS, running under Windows XP, as it has done ever since I got it years ago.Has proved much more stable than other folks report, but does crash out from time to time, c'est la vie. But it's such a nice program (I have used Dreamweaver, professionally) and enables me to concentrate on structure, design and content - which is what websites are all for, and not getting computer nerd credentials (which I have no interest in).
This however, is a perennial and irritating program glitch, especially prone to occur when the component editing window is maximised - not so much when a window amongst/over other windows in the GoLive workspace. The program saves, updates, smallifies the component window (without my wanting it to!!!) and then comes up with a blank 'I've done it' splash. Has happened more, recently, since I got a higher spec machine with a higher resolution screen. Progress, huh? -
Hello,
I am having a slow database connection (which is not possible to speed up).
So I would like to have a kind of splash window to communicate to the user why she/he has to wait.
anything recommendable there (JSF or JSP)?
Thanks,
javosoThank you Sergey,
I am looking on how to implement that....
My problem is that I come to the "slow" window (before the one I would like to have the splash) from many other windows.
So, I should in that case put the main and hidden DIV in all that windows... Not really elegant :)
I am considering forwarding to a "middle" window (which will act as the splash).
Thanks! -

4th Gen iPod will not mount or connect to Windows
Hi, one of my iPods will not connect to Windows XP. Its a 4th Gen 40gb non photo iPod
The iPod still plays and works "normally" as a portable device (ie I can play music), but I cannot connect it to my pc at all.
When I plug it in via either USB or Firewire ports the iPod disc whirrs and gets stuck in a loop (that can last over 2 hours plus) before i need to reset it in order to disconnect it from the pc.
When I connect, it doesn't launch iTunes as it should.
It doesn't appear in My Computer.
It doesnt appear in Computer Management>Disk Management
Latest iPod updater cannot read it (even when put in disk mode) and tells me that it can't mount the iPod.
Also, the iPod has since started to mess my PC up - it will not allow the PC to boot up with the iPod connected. If I connect the iPod to the PC with iTunes already launched it causes iTunes to freeze and crash. When I go to restart the PC, Windows will not shutdown.
Getting sick now - any ideas please (besides throwing it out the window!)?
It's weird how the iPod still plays, but it will not connect to the PC when my other 4G 30gb photo and Shuffle will.I have tried resetting and restoring the ipod before, and I have put it into disk mode too (in order to restore it) but the ipod updater said it could not mount it
However, I did try Deanz advice by putting it into disk mode whilst attached to the mains and then connecting it to the PC has at least enabled me to see it in "My Computer" for the first time as (the "F" drive), even if iTunes is not recognising it.
However, when I attempt to see the ipod in Disk Management I get the same problem outlined above in an earlier post (grey screen).
If I try to browse the iPod via My computer that task freezes. Task Manager claims the function is "not responding"
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Anyway, all my music is backed up so that's not a problem. The iPod works, but I can't update it so it could be worse. Not really sure how to remap the iPod to a different drive letter
[edit] During the process of closing down the non-responsive "My Computer", Windows had a major gimp out and completely froze me out until I reset the ipod an put it back into disc mode (again). Then Windows reappeared in the same state before it crashed. I suspect this is due to some kind of conflict with the iPod as it has done this a few times now since my iPod started acting up (and only when the iPod is connected).
Thinking of some elaborate home insurance claim now.............. -
Random disconnections (A LOT) after 6 months of ex...
Hi all,
I've joined to try get some help with my BT Broadband disconnecting a lot. I've had the broadband in my flat for about 6 months now, and it has been brilliant up until this month.
It seems totally random, but it's getting more frequent with disconnecting.
I called the customer service who said to reset everything and change the filter etc. They said there were no issues on the line that they could see so blamed the setup/equipment. It was ok for a day or 2 again then started disconnecting again.
I went away for a long weekend this weekend and have come back to find the broadband light off last night, and I really struggled to get a connection at all. Most of the time the "B" broadband light was either off, or flashing orange.
I changed the filter, reset the hub, changed the cabling, disconnected all wired connections except my PC. All to no avail. I then reset the hub to factory settings. I got a connection then for may be half an hour before the disconnections started again. I tried it without the phone plugged in as well, this didn't help either. I called customer services again, who basically ran through the same stuff as last time, and I explained I'd changed the filter etc.
They told me to plug it in to a test socket by removing the phone line socket face plate. Being a small block of flats, the phone line is built in to a plug with various other outputs (TV ariel, radio, sky etc etc), so I'm not too keen to take it apart, and unsure it will have the same internals as most phone line sockets?
Anyway I explained I'd try replacing wires etc and ended the call. Accepting that I wasn't going to get it fixed at half 11 on a Monday night. I thought I'd try get advice online instead.
I've always left the hub on for 24hours, but I've noticed that it seems to get quite warm? It's never caused an issue being warm before though? I faced a fan toward it to cool it down though, and enabled power saving mode through the night to see if that helped. I awoke this morning though to see it disconnecting a couple of times before I left for work.
So I'm asking on here if anyone has any other advice as to what may be causing it.
I've read up about doing a quite line test, which I'll carry out tonight.
I can provide the Event Log from the HomeHub if that will help?
Some additional information you may wish to know in order to advise me:
-3 wired devices (PC, YouView box, and Xbox 360)
-usually 2-4 wireless devices connected (3 phones and a laptop)
- <1m from the socket, no extension cabling.
-1 BT handset phone connected via filter
-3 replacement filters tried
BTbroadband since April 2013.
HomeHub 3.0
1 Telephone line socket
1 TelephoneI came home tonight to no connection for 45mins. The broadband light wouldnt come on at all. I again tried another of the 3 filters I have, relocated the router further away from the youview box and tried again. No internet still.....about 20mins later the connection flashed orange about 7 times, would then go out. It repeated this about 10 times and then came back on.
My homehub is running Firmware Version 4.7.5.1.83.8.94.1.11 (Type A)
