Discoverer Reporting time in Discoverer view /plus

Hi I am running reports in the Discoverer View. Some reports are taking more than expected time. I want to know exact time taken by the reports. IS there any tables that storing Execution time for Discoverer reports like start time and end time for the report.
Thanks.

Hi,
You can turn on statistics collection and then look in the EUL5_QPP_STATS table for the start time and duration of all the workbooks run on the system.

  • Discoverer report - Output from Discoverer plus is not the same as Discoverer desktop

As a part of Upgrade project we are migrating the discoverer reports from 11i (11.5.10.2) to R12 (12.1.3) .After migrating to R12, for a custom discoverer report the output given by discoverer desktop is correct (24 rows for a scenario). But the report output from Discoverer plus does not show the credit transactions (2 rows). The output from Discoverer plus shows only 22 rows (24 - 2), which is incorrect. The query is the same in Discoverer desktop and Discoverer plus.
Please let me know why these transactions that are appearing when the report is run from discoverer desktop are not appearing in discoverer plus. Is there any setup in discoverer plus for this?
    Regards,
    Brajesh

Pretty hard to answer a question like this.  Best bet would be to copy the existing discoverer plus book and start removing conditions, fields, etc until those two rows from desktop show up and see if you can work it out.

  • Scheduling Discoverer Report and distributing Discoverer Report Output

    Hi,
We are using discoverer (Along with Oracle HCM R12) and would like the  END USER to schedule the reports by themselves.
There is an option to schedule the report, and also an option to share it to chosen users/ responsibilities.
We scheduled one report and also set the sharing option to share with others but it seems the report executes but doesn't get sent out by email to the END USER's email id.
Any ideas / thought on this please?
NB: We are looking to distribute Discoverer Report Output from scheduled Discoverer reports...not looking to share the report with other users/ responsibilities.

  • With one condition included my discoverer report is taking hours to run

    Hi,
I am trying to build a discoverer report based on a view and i have defined couple of conditions as per the business requirement. Here is my view which is executing fine from database and at discoverer level.
Now the requirement is to get the details with conditions
    1. Application_date is not equal to apply date
    2. Applied_amount>0
    parameters should be
    Application_date low and high
The report is successfully executing when i use condition1 that is application_date<>apply date with parameters mentioned.
But when i define second condition at report level that applied_amount>0, its taking hours to run.
Please advise me the way to use this condition2 so that it should be executed in normal time.
    Thanks,
    Prathyusha.

    Hi Srini,hussein,
    Thanks so much.
Yes srini that is related to my post. I have tried all the options to make that condition workout. But hard luck i could nt able to make this work out.
Im still wondered my query is successfully getting executed in database fine and when i give any condition on applied amount its taking hours to run from discoverer desktop and i dont find it executed anytime till now.
I am not sure about enabling this trace option as i reviewed the ID's suggested by you and seems that all needs to be done with the help of DBA. But i dont have that much time to make this workout. This is an immediate business requirement and i have never seen this problem anytime with discoverer desktop.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Prathyusha.

  • Displaying Discoverer report through Apps Form

    Hi all,
I have a question as to, is it possible to call a discoverer report created in discoverer desktop and which is stored in the database., from an Oracle Apps form using the following method
WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT(url,target).. and if yes what url needs to be passed.
    Thnx
    Shruti

If you have a 11.5.10 instance with Advanced Supply Chain Planning setup (of a Vision Instance), apply 4103334 PLANNING DETAIL REPORT FOR MSC PATCHSET J
Then look at the function MSCPLDTL_DISC, it makes a call with Parameters Workbook=MSC_PLAN_DET_REP_WB&Parameters=Sheet~1*, of Type SSWA plsql function and HTML call OracleOasis.RunDiscoverer.
The form that launches the Discoverer report is MSCPLDTL.fmb.

  • How to know which report is using which view

    Hi all,
is there any way to get the details of which discoverer report is using which view by using any sql query.
    Thanks in advance

There is a trigger that update a table whenever a workbook is saved.
You can start your query from
    select s.workbook_name,
    s.worksheet_name,
    s.sequence_order,
    s.sql_string
    from
    ams.ams_discoverer_sql s
    order by 1,2,3

  • Online response time in discoverer viewer?

    Dear sir,
    Can anyone help me,
In discoverer view and plus, how to maximise the response time for the viewer, while n-number of visitors requesting the same report.
How to analyse that? what settings are there?
Plz help me , its urgent for my project?
    Regards
    chandrakumar

In case this helps anyone else - this is the reply I got when I asked SAP this question:
the total user response time is response time + frontend network time.
GUI time is already included in the response time (it is the roll in andwait time from the application server's point of view).
The 'FE (Frontend) net time' is the time consumed in the network for thefirst transfer of data from the frontend to the application server andthe last transfer of data from the application server to the frontend
    (during one dialog step).

  • Discoverer reports taking a long time!!!

    Hi all,
One of our clients is complaining that the discoverer reports are taking a long time to run for the last few days, the report used to take 30 minutes before but now is running for hours!!
I have checked the SGA and I have killed the idle sessions but still there was no improvement in the performance.
The version of BI discoverer is 10 and database also is 10g and the platform is win server 2003.
I have checked the forums and they talk about explain plan and tkprof and other commands, but my problem is that i am unable to find the query that discoverer is running i mean once the report is clicked the query runs and gives the estimate time it would take. can some one tell me where this query is stored so that i can check this query,
Also there were no changes made in the query or to the database.
The temp space fills up 100%, i increased the size of temp space but still it goes to 100% also i noticed that the CPU utilisation goes to 100%
i also increased the SGA but still no go.
can someone kindly help me as to what could be causing this problem
also kindly guide me to some good documents for tuning the discoverer.
    thanks in advance,
    regards,

    Hi,
The fact that the report used to work fast and now not can be related to many things but my guess is that the database statistics were changed and so the explain plan has changed.
This can be done due to change in the volume of the data that crossed a level were oracle optimizer change the behavior but it can be other things as well.
Anyway it is not relevant since it will be easier to tune the SQL than to find what have changed.
In order to find whether the problem is with the discoverer or in the SQL extract the SQL as described above and run it in SQL tool (SQL Plus, TOAD, SQL Developer and so on).
The best way to get to the problem is run a trace on your session and then use the TKPROF command to translate it to a text file you can analyze - you can assist your DBA team they should have no problem doing that.
By doing that you will get the problematic statements/ functions/ procedures that the report uses.
From there you can start working on improving the performance.
Performance is expertise for itself so i'm sorry i don't know to tell you where to start from, I guess the start will be from understanding the meaning of the explain plan.
Hope I helped a little although I wish Ii had a magic answer for you
BTW, until you resolve that problem you can use the discoverer scheduler to run the reports in the background and so the users will get the data.

  • Discoverer Viewer/Plus 10g after a migration from Discoverer 4i

    Hi, I upgrated Discoverer4i to Discoverer 10g with Ebusiness Suite 11i ( 11.5.9) without installin AS 10g
    I followed the note: http://oracle-magic.blogspot.com/2006/11/upgrading-discoverer-4i-to-10g-on-apps.html
If I use Discoverer Administrator and Desktop it works perfectly (I connect as an Oracle Application User)
Now, I want to see my reports with Discoverer Viewer/Plus but I don't understand how to do it (always connecting with an Oracle Application user).
My previous URL (with Discoverer4i) was: http://gnvdev.ote.gr:8025/discoverer4i/viewer
Now, after the Discoverer 10g installation I can connect to the "Welcome to Oracle Business Intelligence 10g (10.1.2)" page with the following URL:http://gnvdev.ote.gr:7779/
I didn't understand how Ebusiness Suite 11i ( 11.5.9) can communicate with Discoverer 10g in order to see reports from the web
Can anyone help to understand where and how I should modify anything in order to see my reports with Discoverer Viewer or Plus
    Thank you
    Alex

If you have followed all the steps in "Note: 313418.1 - Using Discoverer 10.1.2 with Oracle E-Business Suite 11i" then you should be able to access Discoverer Plus/Viewer through the following links:
    Discoverer Plus:
    http://gnvdev.ote.gr:7779//discoverer/plus
    Discoverer Viewer:
    http://gnvdev.ote.gr:7779//discoverer/viewer
The above links will prompt for some input, all what you need to provide is:
    - Applications Username
    - Applications Password
    - Database (SID)

  • To visualize the report created using Discoverer Plus in Web

    Hi,
I had created the report usingOracleBI Discoverer Plus Version 10.1.2.45.46c & able to visualize the report in OracleBI Discoverer Viewer Version 10.1.2.45.46c.
URL fo accessing the report is as:
    http://machinename1:7777/discoverer/viewer
If i try to connect to from another machine (machine2) as
    http://machinename1:7777/discoverer/viewer
i'm unable to connect & i get the error page can not be displayed.
Is it necessary to have the URL only with domain name as
    http://machinename.domainname:portno/discoverer/viewer
I had already installed OWB, Oracle BI etc. If i had to create a domain then i have install all these & need to work from scratch.
Is there any way to access the report across the internet or web.
Plz do provide a solution for this issue.
    Thx in Advance

    Hi,
    Check the Discoverer OBEs at:

The lesson titled 'Creating a Business Intelligence Dashboard Using Discoverer Portlets' should answer your question.

  • View Reports file in Discoverer

It's possible to view reports created with Oracle Reports 9i in Discoverer Viewer9i or Plus? How?
    Thank you
    Marco

Not directly but Desktop has an 'Import SQL' function which you could use to pull in the query from Reports. There are limitations on what sort of query can be imported though.

  • How to get the execution time of a Discoverer Report from qpp_stats table

    Hello
by reading some threads on this forum I became aware of the information stored in eul5_qpp_stats table. I would like to know if I can use this table to determine the execution time of a worksheet. In particular it looks like the field qs_act_elap_time stores the actual elapsed time of each execution of specific worksheet: am I correct? If so, how is this value computed? What's the unit of measure? I assume it's seconds, but then I've seen that sometimes I get numbers with decimals.
For example I ran a worksheet and it took more than an hour to run, and the value I get in the qs_act_elap_time column is 2218.313.
Assuming the unit of measure was seconds than it would mean approx 37 mins. Is that the actual execution time of the query on the database? I guess the actual execution time on my Discoverer client was longer since some calculations were performed at the client level and not on the database.
I would really appreciate if you could shed some light on this topic.
    Thanks and regards
    Giovanni

Thanks a lot Rod for your prompt reply.
I agree with you about the accuracy of the data. Are you aware of any other way to track the execution times of Discoverer reports?
    Thanks
