    Hi,
Is there any way to export the output of scheduled Discoverer Reports to a particular server using Discoverer plus.Only by openning and exporting each report manually.
is there any way to get the output name in a particular syntax. I want to concatenate date in the output name.Only by entering the filename when you do the export.
The best way to do this is to use Discoverer Desktop and a third party scheduler. Then you can export all your reports automatically and define the filename used in the output. Search this forum for more information on third party schedulers.

  • How do I include formatting when I export Discoverer Report to Excel?

    Hi All,
Using the Desktop version of Discoverer I can export to excel but the formatting is not included.
But when I use the Plus or Viewer version to export, the formatting is included.
I would like to export using a batch file at the command prompt but the formatting is not included.
    Any ideas?
    Here is my command line:
    c:\ora10g\bin\dis51usr.exe /connect user/pwd@teamprd /opendb "TEST" /sheet "X" /parameter PRODUCT '007441' /batch /export XLS c:\resource_managers\TEST

    Hi,
Have you tried exporting to HTML and then opening the HTML in Excel, e.g.
    c:\ora10g\bin\dis51usr.exe /connect user/pwd@teamprd /opendb "TEST" /sheet "X" /parameter PRODUCT '007441' /batch /export HTML c:\resource_managers\TEST.xls
    Hope that helps,

  • Distribution of scheduled Discoverer report

    Hello everybody!
We need to distribute output of scheduled discoverer report in Excell format to the list of users.
I've read that output of the scheduled report is stored somewhere on the server. I am trying to find where exactly it's located and use shell script to mail it to users.
    My questions:
    1. Please direct me where I should look for stored output.
    2. Is there better solution to acheive what we need?

  • Discoverer report showing wrong output

    Hi all
We have made a discoverer report called Generic Employee list which is having 37202 records. But in the front end it is showing only 7001 records.
I have checked that query in toad there i am getting 37202 records and i checked in discoverer desktop there it shows 37202 but when iam exporting it to Excel or CSV file it has only 10054 records.
Its urgent. Kindly advise on the same.
    Thanks & Regards
    Nakshathra

    Hi Nakshathra,
Go to Tools --> Options --> Query Governer, uncheck the Limit Retrived data Query, some times it will set to default 10000 records else manually you can set the limitation.
    I hope this helps you.
    Cheers,

  • How to fix the Timing issue in Discoverer reports

There is a problem with autoHeightRows and columnStretching used together in 11gR1.
    Have you tried without columnStretching?
Or have you tried if it works in 11gr2?
TimoHi Timo, Thank you very much for taking time to respond to my question.. :)
    Back to my question...
I tried removing the columnStretching although my requirement really requires this but no effect really happens even if I remove this.
Based on my investigation on the generated HTML, I notice the following items:
    1. A table is being wrapped in a div that is being set at a fixed height.
    2. On first load, if your autoheight rows is set to 6, the framework is setting a height of 96px to the div. This height would almost cut the last row of the table.
    3. If you try to refresh the page or try to re-PPR the component, the framework resets it to 102px which causes the last row to be fully displayed.
My only concern is that IE is perfectly displaying this while Chrome and FF are having problem.
Based on my understanding, the framework is messing up the height only on first load. Not sure but this is how I see it. I am really not confident also on my findings
and I would most likely hear other's comment.
    Thanks.

  • FTP Discoverer report output

Is there any way to ftp the report output for scheduled Discoverer 10g workbooks without using Discoverer Desktop (i..e, directly from the server) ?
Example: A workbook is scheduled to run daily; after the report completes, the output of the report (in Excel format only) has to be ftp-ed (automatically, via a shell script or stored procedure) to a remote location (Discoverer Plus was used to create and schedule the workbooks, do not use Discoverer Desktop) - where do we pick up the ouput from on the server/database? Is the output stored on the file system or in the database? In which format is it stored?
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the response - however, we found a method to do it - since the results of a scheduled workbook are stored in a database table, we can access the results from this table, create a text file, and ftp this file.
Method is given below (pl. let me know if we are missing anything):
    1. Create a simple Discoverer workbook based on SCOTT.DEPT table, workbook name is 'DEPT'
    2. Schedule DEPT workbook as 'SCOTT' user
    3. Wait until the scheduled job has completed; In the Scheduling Manager the report status is 'Ready'
    4. Connect to SQLPlus as the EUL owner
    5. select BR_ID, BR_WORKBOOK_NAME from EUL5_BATCH_REPORTS where BR_WORKBOOK_NAME='DEPT';
    SQL> select BR_ID, BR_WORKBOOK_NAME from EUL5_BATCH_REPORTS where BR_WORKBOOK_NAME='DEPT';

  • Incorrect discoverer title in excel output

    Hi,
Some of my users have reported to me that, when they output worksheets to Excel in Discoverer Plus 10.1.2.48.18, the content in the title area is incorrect. I am binding some parameters such as BEGIN_DATE and END_DATE in the title area. For example, the title area in Discoverer correctly shows 01-JAN-07 and 31-JAN-07 for the begin date and end date. However, when we open the same data output in Excel, the title area shows something like 01-MAR-07 and 31-MAR-07 for the begin date and end date.
    Thanks.
    Andy

    Hi,
I believe, you have issue with the value of date and not date format.
I had experienced the same issue with Title.
The discoverer report shows the Date correctly, but after exporting ti Excel, it takes the previous value of Date.
When I edited the Title , saved, and exported again, it worked..!!
I dont see any technical reason here, but my guess is, the excel takes the previous values of the parameter from cookies.
    Have a try..!!

  • AIM Document for Discoverer Reports

    Hi All,
I want to know if there are any Oracle's standard (AIM) documents for Discoverer Reports, similar to MD Documents for Oracle Reports?
Can you send me any such document? Or where can I find them?
You can send me on "[email protected]" if you have any.
    Thanks!
    Yogini

    Hi Pradeep,
Thanks a lot for your reply. I have the table names but I need to create a functional specification document for reports like:
    1. RG23A Part 2
    2. RG23C Part 2
    3. ER1
    4. RG1
    5. PLA
For all these reports we had already suggested the option for dowload to excel but client wants the reports to be created. Can I get some sample functional spec. for some of the above mentioned reports.

  • Open Pages from Discoverer Report

    Hi,
Is there a way to invoke a webpage or even better, an oracle function (that links to forms or self-service) from a discoverer report row ?
for example, I want a report for employees where the person looking at the report will click on the employee name and is taken straight to the person details page for that employee.
    Regards.

    Hi,
You can create a link to a form function using fnd_run_function.get_run_function_url. You can create a calculation either in a view or using a calculated item in the EUL (you will have to map the get_run_function_url in the EUL to do this). You then set the content type property of the EUL item to FILE so that when the item is selected in the workbook it appears as a hyperlink.
Most forms in apps except parameters so that you can pass the employee id to the form and the form will open up with the employee record. For example, if you are using a seed HR person form you create a calculation,
    fnd_run_function.get_run_function_url(3494      -- PERWSHRG-404
                                         ,800       -- HR
                                         ,fnd_global.RESP_ID     -- caller's responsibility
                                         ,0        -- Business Group
                                         ,         -- Parameters
         'P_PERSON_ID='||TO_CHAR(person_id, 'fm9999999999999')||
         ' P_EFFECTIVE_DATE='||TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'YYYY/MM/DD'))Rod West

  • Discoverer report not working on R12 !

We have just migrated to R12 from 11i and some of the discoverer query is not working, but the same is working fine when we ran thru SQL Developer or TOAD.
Is there any context (mo_global.set_policy_context) needs to be set in Discoverer report to get the data?
    Thanks

    Thanks Srini,
There is no any specific error message, the strange thing is if I run the Discoverer report is not returning any data, but if I set the mo_global.set_policy_context ('S',111) in SQL Developer or TOAD and then run the discoverer report it return data...
    Any pointers?

how can i make this as an parameter?

    Hi Prashant,
Subqueries are not Supported in Conditions..As of Disco Plus Rel 10.1.2.54.25
    A plausible workaround can be:
    1. Create a View with foll. Query
create or replace view TEST_VIEW as
    select hpah.EMPLOYEE_NUMBER emp_no,hpah.FIRST_NAME,hpah.LAST_NAME,hpah.PERSON_NAME,
    --hpah.JOB_NAME,hpah.ASSIGNMENT_ORGANIZATION_NAME,
    hpah.ASSIGNMENT_TYPE,hpah.USER_ASSIGNMENT_STATUS,
    SUBSTR(pj.name, 1, instr(pj.name, '.', 1, 2) -1) job_code,
    SUBSTR(pj.name, instr(pj.name, '.', 1, 2) + 1) job_title,
    (select haou.ATTRIBUTE1 from hr_all_organization_units haou
    where haou.ORGANIZATION_ID = hpah.ASSIGNMENT_ORGANIZATION_ID ) Function,
    (select haou.ATTRIBUTE2 from hr_all_organization_units haou
    where haou.ORGANIZATION_ID = hpah.ASSIGNMENT_ORGANIZATION_ID ) org_desc,
    SUBSTR(hpah.ASSIGNMENT_ORGANIZATION_NAME, 1, 6) dept_code,
    SUBSTR(hpah.ASSIGNMENT_ORGANIZATION_NAME, 7, LENGTH(hpah.ASSIGNMENT_ORGANIZATION_NAME)) dept_title,
    hpah.GRADE_NAME,hpah.LOCATION_NAME,hpah.SUPERVISOR_NAME,
    hpah.PERSON_START_DATE,hpah.ORIGINAL_DATE_OF_HIRE ,
    hpah.SALARY_BASIS,hpah.BUSINESS_GROUP_ID,hpah.ASSIGNMENT_ID,
    decode( hpah.SALARY_BASIS, 'ANNUAL', ppp.proposed_salary_n,
    'HOURLY', (ppp.proposed_salary_n *2080),
    ppp.proposed_salary_n
    ) salary,
    sysdate run_date
    from
    hrfg_person_assignment_history hpah ,
    per_pay_proposals ppp,
    per_pay_bases ppb,
    per_grades pg,
    per_jobs pj
    where hpah.ASSIGNMENT_ID = ppp.ASSIGNMENT_ID
    and hpah.SALARY_BASIS = ppb.PAY_BASIS
    and hpah.BUSINESS_GROUP_ID = ppb.BUSINESS_GROUP_ID
    and hpah.GRADE_ID = pg.GRADE_ID(+)
    and hpah.JOB_ID = pj.JOB_ID (+)
    --and hpah.EMPLOYEE_NUMBER = 100779
    order by hpah.EMPLOYEE_NUMBER
    2. Create another table say TEST_TAB
    create table TEST_TAB (emp_no, start_dt) as
    SELECT hpah2.EMPLOYEE_NUMBER , MAX(hpah2.PERSON_START_DATE) PERSON_START_DATE
    FROM hrfg_person_assignment_history hpah2
    GROUP BY hpah2.EMPLOYEE_NUMBER
    3. Add both of them in Disco Admin and create a join between TEST_VIEW.emp_no and TEST_TAB.emp_no
    4. Bring both these Objects in a new report in Disco Plus
    5. Create a New Parameter (Base it on PERSON_START_DATE Col of TEST_TAB)
    6. Choose Option Create Condition with operator <=
    7. Checkmark "Require User to Enter a Value
    8. Execute Report
I believe this should work. Either ways let me know if it helps or u get another workaround. (This scenario looks quite interesting)
    Thanks,
    Chinmay

  • Discoverer Report Slow

    Hi All,
I have a problem wherein some specific users are saying that the report is slow at their end.
The exact issue is...we have Discoverer Report present at the US server. Now we have 2 sites CANADA and US from where this report is run. Both sites refer the same server i.e. the US server.
Canadian users are reporting performance problems with this report, but when I run the report at my end there is no such problem.
Please advice what can be the probable reason for this.
    Regards,
    Ankur

    Hi Ankur
Further to what has been said, if you are running Discoverer Plus across a long time it will take longer to run. Typically the query runs within the database but everything else, formatting, layout, page items and so on is done locally by the Java applet in your local cache. What happens if you run a CANADA report from the US site? Does it run ok? If so, then therein lies the answer. The machines in Canada need to therefore be as powerful as you can make them plus your network needs to be as fast as you can too.
Another way way I have seen this solved is by providing something like a Citrix server in the US for the Canadian customers to log into.
    Best wishes
    Michael

  • Discoverer report link

    Hi guys,
I have created a link to Discoverer report in applications that works beautifully but there is one downside in it. When we invoike the report to launch in Discoverer Viewer it opens in the same browser window. Does anyone know how to make it open in a new browser window? I have looked into ICX: Discoverer parameters and other profile options but could not find anything pertaining to that. Also looked into Function parameters but seems to be missing it. Help, anybody!
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Assuming your initialization matches your discoverer login, it is pretty weird that you get no data.
I am not sure how you got the SQL but i suggest you trace the session to get the exact SQL ran by the discoverer.
You may find another condition or join that limits your data.
Also another thing that you should try is to initial the session by using all the parameters (including the security group as you have in your discoverer login):
    begin
      fnd_global.APPS_INITIALIZE(user_id =>, resp_id =>, resp_appl_id =>, security_group_id =>);
    end
