XI Installation: Dispatcher Not Running
Hi,
We're trying to install XI and have upgraded to SP16. We then did a stopsap and tried to start the services using startsap.
However, the dispatcher is not coming up. The J2EE engine is not running and I cannot log into Visual Administrator. Hence I cannot continue with the installation. Can somebody help??
Using the jcmon pf=<profileID>, I notice the following:

I've tried to restart the process but with no luck.Hi Basant,
Check out the following threads which have discussed and even solved the same issue:-
1. J2ee dispatcher can not start
2. Dispatcher Exitcode=-2
3. CJS-20057:Starting J2EE Engine JC00 of SAP system J2E failed: after 1317 se
4. J2EE server not started (exitcode -2)
One more thing, I think you should post this question in any one of the other forums too...like SAP NetWeaver Platform/Web AS/Installation..

Edited by: Souren on Jun 15, 2009 10:04 AMThe directory 'work' is not hidden or compressed. Same problem persists with this folder.
But now the system is up but dispatcher is yellow and following msg is showing.
"Running but dialog Queue Info Unavailable: j2ee all processes running"
The only thing that I did is I have re-initialise the auth to all SAP & Administrative users from OS level.
Please suggest
01) How to get access of the Work folder.
02) How to make the dispatcher green from yellow?

Published report will not run; works fine in VS2010 debug mode.
Have 64bit Visual Studio Ultimate installed, CRv13_1 and MSSQL 2008 R2.
The issue I am having is the report work like a champ when I run the web application in debug mode. IE I hit the run button in Visual Studio, However when I publish the application the report will not run. I get various errors depending on how I have connected to report to MSSQL. I have tried ODBC and OLE DB connections. I have tried Windows authentication and MSSQL user login. The results are the same. the report works fine in debug mode but will not work when published. The most common error message is :
Error
Database logon failed.
or
Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE'
Depending on how I am authenticating. I have Google this issue and there are tons of posts about it but no solutions. Any help would be appreciated.See if the article [Troubleshooting Guide to Database Connectivity Issues with Crystal Reports in Visual Studio .NET Applications|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/b0225775-88c4-2c10-bd80-8298769293de] helps.
I'd settle on the prefered connection method and troubleshoot that. Use the search box in the top right corner of this web page. It will bring up KBases, blogs, wikis, articles and more. Also, search these forums. There is lots of info here and lots of answers.

SHADOW system Dispatcher NOT RUNNING
Hi All,
We are upgrading from 4.7 to ECC6.0. The PREPARE went fine but during the upgrade, we are getting an error. The SAPup is not able to connect to the shadow system for running some jobs. When we checked the MMC, we found that the dispatcher is not running for our SHADOW system. We are on Windows/Oracle 10g.

Dear All ,
When I execute TC--> sm50 , I saw that some of dialog work process were showing stopped status and the reason column shows as CPIC . Can anyone suggest me as to what should be done ??
Some of the Work process under the time column also shows time values highlighted in red.
Regards
GauravHi Bidhwan ,
Thanks for your suggestion. I observed from Work process overview that one of the background work process is currently executing one SD report and when I just click on the CPU button to view the CPU time then CPU time is constant but the value under the time column is changing i.e it indicates that the work process got stuck . Can you suggest as to what should to be done in this case.
Regards

ClickBiosII will not run - SCEWIN_64 has stopped working
I've been up and running for about two weeks on a new motherboard that I recently installed (info below). Everything was working fine and I had the ClickBiosII running and was working fine. I just installed the MSI LiveUpdate 5 and it reported that there was a new Bios download available which has a fix for a Windows 8 issue (which I'm running on Windows 8) so I decided to do the update. Once the update completed (which appeared to complete successfully and rebooted the computer) then my ClickBiosII will no longer start. All it does is display a message at start up reporting:
SCEWIN_64 has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
I've uninstalled it (totally cleared out it's installation directory), reinstalled it back with the original one from my setup disk, still failed.
Uninstalled it again and used LiveUpdate5 to download and install the latest one and it still fails.
When I do try to run it and it fails, the Task Manager for Apps, shows: ClickBIOS_Loading (32 bit)
And there is a Background Process of: MSI CLICK BIOS II (32 bit)
I have to kill both of these before I can even attempt to try to run it again.
WHY isn't it working any more just with a Bios update???
System Info,
Board: MSI H77MA-G43
Bios: Version 1.90 (previously it was 1.8 before I updated it to 1.90)
VGA: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT
PSU: (I have no idea what this is??)
Intel Core i5-3570, 3.4 GHZ, 6MB Cache, LGA1155, 77W
MEM: G.Skill DDR3-1600 PC3-12800 4x4gb F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM
HDD: SanDisk 256gb SSD
COOLER: CPU stock fan/heatsink
OC: N/A
OS: Windows 8 64bit Professional with Media CenterThe MSI register site really sucks!! I usually don't get very frustrated at company sites much but the MSI site stinks. I've gone in and created an account, but there is no way to register my product. Every link I click on there displays a Message with only one button on it "Back to Member Center" which the screen automatically goes back to the previous window on it's own.
I've tried the Technical Support link and I get a "This page can't be displayed" message.
So I can't get to any support from MSI itself. I wish I had known this before I purchased this mother board! -

FIM 2010 Sync not running with status "Stopped-extension-dll-exception"
we are getting the following error for all our extensions when trying to run the Sync Operations. All extensions have similar errors with event ID 6159 generated in the application event log. They all started occurring after I deleted a attribute flow
rule in one of the agents. This is happening in Production and are facing lot of other issues because of this.
The management agent "Peoplesoft" failed on run profile "Full Import Full Synch" because of a problem with the initialize method on the extension object. The extension dll is "PeoplesoftExtension.dll" and the stack trace is:
Microsoft.MetadirectoryServices.UnexpectedDataException: String or binary data would be truncated.
The statement has been terminated.
at Mms_ManagementAgent_PeoplesoftExtension.ExtFunctions.RunSQLCommand(String commandstring)
at Mms_ManagementAgent_PeoplesoftExtension.ExtFunctions.AddSentEmailsRecord(String sAMAccountName, String MessageSubject, String MessageBody, Int16 DelayDays)
at Mms_ManagementAgent_PeoplesoftExtension.ExtFunctions.CheckDoNotDisableInactiveGroup()
at Mms_ManagementAgent_PeoplesoftExtension.ExtFunctions.LoadConfigSettings()
at Mms_ManagementAgent_PeoplesoftExtension.ExtFunctions.InitializeCommon()
at Mms_ManagementAgent_PeoplesoftExtension.MAExtensionObject.Initialize()
Please advise on how to fix this as I have no clue where to start and am new to FIM.
Only Full Import(Staging ONLY) is successful. The error message you are getting is talking about data getting truncated. Any change that you had a data change alongside your other changes and now the length of data in one or more of your attributes is longer than it was?
I suspect that since you are new to FIM, something else has changed that you don't realize (beyond just the deletion of the one sync rule), but...
If truly the only thing that changed was a deletion of a flow rule, is there any chance that either of the following could have happened:
With the deletion of a flow rule the corresponding data is no longer going through the sync engine. Could there be some logic that due to precedence, is now using a different value, and this different value is too long for some other piece of logic.
With the deletion of a flow rule the corresponding data is no longer going through the sync engine. With this value missing, some extension logic is making a different choice and generating invalid data. Without the deleted data flow, there may be a null
value that extension logic is not properly dealing with.
As was suggested, the best thing to do may be to restore from backup and get the system back to a known state.
If you have development skills and if you have the source code to your custom rules extensions, it is fairly easy to debug and single step through the code. This of course must be done with extreme caution if you are in a production environment. You will
also need familiarity with how the FIM Synchronization engine works. Documentation is here:

Thinkpad yoga 11e does not run working vbscript
I'm using the Thinkpad to run the sample script ListAll.vbs provided by Lenovo. The script works fine on other models but when I try to run it on the Yoga 11e the return is an equal sign only. I looked at the documantation and it list the Yoga as compatiable so what could cause this issue?
I have double-checked my ThinkPad Yoga 11e here, and it is working correctly. My system originally had BIOS 1.15, which worked. Then, to double-check, I updated to the latest BIOS 1.16 which also worked.
Please double-check that you are using the correct scripts here: http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/script.zip
"cscript.exe ListAll.vbs"
If you're still having problems, then I suspect something is wrong with your OS image, or some other software you have installed is interfering somehow. -

Solution :
1. change ora_sid environment variable to epp
