  • Why doesn't macbook pro 2.3GHz Retina display have hard drive configuration?

When I'm about to order the macbook pro 2.3Ghz Retina display in the apple.com website. there are no hard drive configuration. the hardware configuration are only memory, apple usb super drive and apple thunderbolt. but no hardrive. why?

Because that is the base model of the Retina Edition.
The Retina Edition doesn't come with a Hard Drive.  It uses a Flash Drive.
If you want a larger flash drive, you have to step up to the next model.

  • Blank screen after display driver update Satellite Pro P200

I installed the latest ATI Mobility Radeon HD2600 display driver (8.432, from the Toshiba site via Tempo) on my Satellite Pro P200 yesterday. On rebooting everything looks fine as far as the Windows Vista Business "Please wait ..." screen, but instead of displaying the login page I get a blank screen (with a mouse cursor that moves around as normal). All I can do at this point is power off, and I've run out of ideas on how to get any further.
    Things I've tried:
    # booting into safe mode, low-resolution video or last known good configuration all result in the same blank screen.
    # connecting to the system using remote desktop (to disable the driver) isn't possible because the system hasn't loaded the network drivers yet.
    # I can't revert to a restore point because Vista can't find any (I made a manual one after installing windows updates on a couple of days ago).
I can run a command prompt from the system recovery options and would prefer to use that to disable the driver +if+ I knew how before resorting to the more drastic options.
A web search (http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=ati+catalyst+vista+blank+screen&hl=en&sa= N) reveals that this has happened on a wide range of laptops with
previous releases of the driver, but none of the links I've looked at give a solution that's available to me.

No joy with an external screen so I bit the bullet and reinstalled from the product recovery disk. I tried expert mode to retain the data partition but that failed twice, so I had to restore it from the previous day's backup after doing a full reinstall. Two consolations, though.
    # It allowed me to increase the size of the data partition.
    # The display driver update worked fine on the fresh install.
Needless to say I've since found [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927525] which describes how you can disable a problem device driver (atikmdag in my case) from the system recovery command prompt :-(
Hopefully the instructions in there will help anybody who gets caught with similar problems.

  • Multiple Adobe Applications "Missing" Display Driver

I am now using the following system configuration:
    2 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970s
    5960X CPU
    2 850 Pro SSD drives
    32 GB DDR4 RAM
    Windows 8.1 Pro
A list of my currently installed applications can be seen here:
    1
I am having problems with 4 utterly crucial applications:
Photoshop, Premiere Pro, SpeedGrade and After Effects.  They were just installed last night; they are the most recent version.
Here are the error messages that I am receiving for each program:
Photoshop "detected an error in [my] display driver" and won't allow me to use any 3D options or even the either of the graphics cards.
    2
Premiere Pro won't even enter the workspace and gives me the following error message:  "Adobe Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules.  Please update your video display drivers and start again."  After this message it crashes.
    34
SpeedGrade won't even launch whenever I try to open it.  The cursor begins to spin as if it's doing something and then quits.  I've tried opening it several times, even with Administrator Permissions, but to no avail.  It just won't open at all and doesn't even bring up the entry loading screen.
After Effects is a whole heap of trouble, with three error messages coming up:
Firstly, "After Effects crashed previously attempting to initialize OpenGL.  Consult the manufacturer of your graphics card for a compatible OpenGL driver."
5 Which is followed by:6 and then continued by: 7
After this, After Effects completely crashes and refuses to open (giving the same error message as seen in picture 4).
I've got the crazy notion that it has something to do with my video card drivers (sarcasm).  Every message seems to have something to do with the graphics card, and SpeedGrade is the only thing that I can't be sure of since it doesn't even begin to start up whenever I try to open it.
However, here's the catch; I have no idea what.  Just now, I manually uninstalled all of my graphics card drivers and did a clean re-install of the newest NVIDIA GTX 970 drivers from here: NVIDIA DRIVERS GeForce Game Ready Driver WHQL
So I have the most updated drivers and most updated adobe software, and certainly have hardware that it's capable of using.  I'm not sure what the issue is here.
Another thing that I would like to mention is that, when opening the NVIDIA control panel, I only have the following options:
    89
I recall that, on other, older computers that I've used with NVIDIA cards and the NVIDIA control panel, there were many other otptions, such as the ability to control SLI and change 3D settings and whatnot.  None of that exists here, and I can't even enable stereoscopic 3D.  In fact, whenever I try to change anything in my extremely limited control panel, I just get the message shown in picture 9: "To use this feature, set the color depth to at least 32-bit."
Alright, to sum it all up once and for all:
I'm assuming the problem that all of these applications are having has something to do with the NVIDIA GTX 970 cards
Even with the most updated software, the problem still exists.
A list of all my programs was given in case any of them might, possibly, be interfering with Adobe.
This computer is brand-new, basically, and the SSD drives are all quite empty.
I am running 4 displays, 3 of which on the same GTX 970 and another using this product: JUA310 USB 3.0 VGA Display Adapter
Don't ask why I'm using that J5create product mentioned above, but I'll tell you that I have a feeling that it could, possibly, be interfering considering that it is basically its own graphics driver.  I have means to support this display without using it, however, so please mention if I need to stop using it for troubleshooting or because it could be the source of the problems.  Also, the other adobe applications seem to be working fine at the moment, but if they do ever have any problems, I might assume them to be caused by the same thing that's messing up all of these programs.
    So what should I do?!?

I also forgot to mention a few things:
Windows 8.1 has successfully updated to its most recent version and installed all updates.
I'm using an MSI X99 Gaming 7 Motherboard.
It’s very urgent that I get these programs to work ASAP

I have upgraded my display driver for GMA 4500MHD from version 7.15.10 to version 8.15.10.1968 (Vista 32bit).
After the installation and rebooting of the T500, my brand new Samsung SyncMaster2233BW cannot show correct display image.
Only image I can see is white screen with few blue shapes. I'm using VGA output for connection. I have tested the monitor by connecting to my other laptop (Dell D620) and everything works fine.

    Hi sehu,
Can't you just ask Windows to roll back to previous installed driver? Additionally, have you tried going back to the point where previous version of driver was installed through Windows System restore?
Also check in c:\swtools\drivers\video folder to see whether or not the desired driver resides there.
    Hope it helps.

  • Reinstall Display Driver to enable 3D

Currently using Photoshop CS6 Extended on Windows XP.   When I go to enable UGP in Preferences the message I get is "photoshop detected an error in your display driver.   Update or reinstall the driver and check UGP to retry".   Have reinstalled Photoshop but the problem is still there.   Photoshop Extended is compatiable with Windows XP so why can't I enable the display driver?

CS6 does not support GPU on XP systems.

  • Display driver update (?)

Newbie to MBP (changed from Win XP). Having a Samsung 940b connected as external display, text is a bit blurry in Gmail inside FF browser but ok in iMail. Any tips ? update display driver .. ? change some settings in System pref's .. ?
    /Lars

For modern Macs running OS X the display drivers are supplied by Apple via the OS and updates supplied via software update. The MB Pro will auto-configure to the display, but you can change the settings somewhat via system preferences>displays.

  • Ever seen the error "ialmrnt5 display driver has stopped working normally"?

Have a user who hasn't used E-test in about a year. He has version 8.01.0249 with IE 7.0 and is getting an error running a script: "Windows display driver stopped responding. The ialmrnt5 display driver has stopped working normally . . . .".
On a different machine with E-test 7.0 with IE 7.0, the same script works fine.
Should I have him upgrade to version 8.20.0526? Also, assuming I upgrade his version, why does the same script work with E-test 7.0?
    THANKS!

    Hi,
It would be better to upgrade to version 8.20.0526. Prior to eTest Suite 8.20.x there was no support for IE 7. There were some cases where eTest Suite would work with IE 7, but it was not consistent since the product did not has IE 7 contemplated in the design. That can explain why it works with e-Test Suite 7.0.
Additionally in 8.20.526 there are several additional features that makes the tasks easier, and there are several bug corrections that can save you time when troubleshooting scripts.
If you are planning to use eTester for Load testing scripts I would recommend moving to 8.20.0569, which has additional bug fixes that can save you a call to support.
You may want to contact your Empirix Sales Rep in order to know if your license would work with the latest version of e-Test Suite or just install it and try the license.
Once you install e-Test Suite 8.20 make a quick test to see if it works with your web application, then, consider the alternative of upgrading all the other computers that will have eTest Suite. It's better to work in a consistent environment where everybody has the same version because you will ensure compatibility of scripts and configuration settings, it will be easier to maintain your environment, and it will be easier to troubleshoot computer problems since you should all have the same configuration.
e-Test Suite 7.0 may not be supported since it's older than two releases than the current one, even if the script work with e-Test Suite 7.0 I would look for the upgrade.

  • Premiere Elements 10 Error on load - "we have detected an incompatible display driver"

Greetings! I was happily using this software for several weeks without problems when one day for no apparent reason (no new hardware or significant software changes) I now get this error constantly when trying to run the software - "we have detected an incompatible display driver. to get better and faster playback performance, please update your display driver. display driver details : intel - intel bear lake B 1.4.0 - Build 7.15.10.5218"
I then updated the intel graphics drivers to the latest version but to no avail. I have tried four different driver versions from oldest to newest and still no success. I have un-installed the software, drivers, started from fresh with all imaginable combinations, CCleaner-ed the hard drive, virus scanned, defragmented, updated windows, etc. I am now at a loss for what to do next, beyond insisting for a refund and going to another software company for my video editing needs.
My machine is a 2Ghz Dual-Core, 4GB RAM, 80GB available HDD space, running windows XP pro SP3, updated everything drivers and OS.
I find this problem even more confusing given the fact that is was working, then decided not to work any more. Perhaps something updated in the background without my knowledge?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
PS - I have tried all the things on this list relating to Premiere Elements version 9, but none have helped - http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/875/cpsid_87588.html

If none of the troubleshooting for the display adaptor (graphics card driver update, BadDrivres.txt etc.) do not work, we have to understand that the display could actually not be supported. By display, I mean the card-driver-driver version combination. So,
    1. It could be a bad card - None of the available drivers work for the application. Here, ditch the card and get a newer one that works.
    2. It could be a bad driver - For e.g. Only DirectX drivers work, OpenGL ones could be pathetic (Many games detect this and if this is bad, I have seen Photoshop struggle with this). Or some display configurations would be badly supported (multiple monitors, some funny resolutions, some of the ports, crossfire etc.). Older drivers/cards/some OEM drivers etc. have these issues in my experience.
    3. It could be a bad driver version - Here upgrade or a downgrade works.
Because of a Video editor, the (lack of) capabilities of the card is highlighted. Video Playback alone doesn't nearly exercise the capabilities the cards usually have to offer. Editing really does. That is why it matters if the Video Editor actually says that it supports Graphics acceleration (Or GPU acceleration) for any of the workflows.
What I am saying here is that when we blame the application for any of the issues, we have to be certain that the issues are NOT due to one of the mentioned three causes. I have seen this all too often in the gaming forums, Nero forums (some years back), in PPro forum, and here. If the application menufacturer is really to blame, the mistake would be all too obvious and too many of us would have complained about it. I do not think this is the case with Premiere Elements 10.
    Introspection works.

  • Re: Satellite U500-PSU9ME - display driver stopped responding

Since I purchased the laptop I had a problem with the display driver.
The screen keeps blackout and comes back after a second with the massage display driver stopped responding and has recovered, I wish I can attach a screenshot. The laptop have nVidia card on it.
The dealer replaced it for me but even with the new one, it comes each day once or twice
This is my 1st Toshiba, I always heard they are good but now I am kind of confused!
Anyone had this problem and could solve it? Please help.
    Note: i updated all drivers.

Why not? Driver stops responding only when cpu cooler runs on minimal rpm, seems to me, that fan rpm basically depend on cpu heat (_not_ gpu).
Very good solution, but I have a question: would you buy a server that works only when you disable lan card? would you buy a car which can turn only left?
No matter. Never the less, I'm satisfied with how the Intel i3 and Nvidia 310m works.
The thing i DO NOT like and which concerns manufacturer directly is keyboard. I don't know who designed flat buttons, but it's the worst keyboard I seen EVER. You can realize my disappointment, changing eeepc to u500 expecting better and getting THIS. They could at least have upgrade for keyboard replacement, the part that cost $50 spoils $1100, wonderful...
:( I imagined my fist toshiba as much happier thing...

  • T410: display driver problem // display does not turn on again after turned of by e.g. (fn+F3)

    Hello,
    I have a problem with my T410 (model: 25223FG)with Nvidia NVS 3100M  (driver version 8.17.12.5738  (27.06.2010) ) .
The Fn+F3 Key-Command is configured to turn of the display.
In almost 50% of the cases where I use the Key-Command (fn+F3), the display turns off but does not turn on again on mouse movement or key-press or touch-pad action. The faulty behaviour occures always when the T410 is connected to the AC adapter. And the chance of the display not turning on again seems to become higher with increase of the duration between Key-Command and mouse movement.
In these test cases my energy manager configuration was set to not turn of anything, when connected to AC.
If I configure it to turn of the display after some time I am experiencing the same problem.
    So my question is:
Does anyone have a suggestion where to start? (display driver, bios,...)

  • Incompatible display driver message prevents start up of premiere Elements

I have downloaded and installed Premiere elements 12 on a PC running Windows 8.1 64 bit with two display drivers and 2 monitors.  When I start Premiere Elements and select the Video editor/New Project I get an error message "We have detected an incompatible display driver.  To get a better and faster playback performance, please update your display driver".  If I click OK the error message comes up a second time and then I get the bar for about 30 seconds and then nothing happens. I am using an Intel on board display driver for my second monitor and an AMD r2 700 series card for my primary display.

Dual graphics adapters cause problems for Premiere Elements... the links below cover how to configure to use one... I have NO idea how to actually use both

After installing the trial version of Premiere Elements 9.0,
I get the message "Display driver incompatible. Please  update. I have a Vaio laptop purchased 10 months ago. I have the latest update of the NVidia G210 driver (187.83).  I teach Premeire Elements and I need a solution to this problem ASAP.

    Vijay,
Sorry I was not able to get back to you faster - I  had a little
"homework" to do and I needed some time to do it.
-Yes, I was able to locate BadDriver(s).txt file (my search would not find
    BadDrivers but did find BadDriver!
I reinstalled PPE 7 on my Sony VPC and it works fine!  I guess I do  have
an incompatibility with PPE 9.  I am calling Sony tomorrow for their  ideas
on this problem but I will get the same run around and "reformat" solution
which I have already done once for the previous driver problem.  They even
replaced the graphics card but that didn't stop the crashes with the previous
    driver.
Thanks for the interest and I hope we get a solution.  My trial has  only 3
days left and I don't think I will get one by that time.

if yes, Could  you see the details of your driver in BadDrivers.txt file?
if yes, then it  seems the driver installed on your system is not

    Also,

  • GTX 460 display driver not working in AE CS6

Hi everyone im currently having problems with After Effects, My GTX 460 is currently undetected by AE CS6 when i check out the gpu information it says (GPU not available - incompatible device or display driver)
I don't see how i am getting this problem as i have the latest drivers and the the gtx 460 has 336 cuda cores therefore it should be compatible with After Effects Should it not ???
Any help will be much appreciated unless it has to do with drivers, believe me it's not the drivers -.-

Same old, same old: What's not listed on the product pages is not officially supported for the respective features and the GTX 460 is not listed as supporting Raytrace 3D. It should support all conventional OpenGL stuff and fast previews without issues, though, so update your graphics driver or try a different version and configure it properly so AE can detect it.

  • ATI display driver rollback

I have desktop running Enterprise Linux server 2.6.18-164. Recently I installed ATI display driver on it. After that I am not able to restart my machine. Is there any way to roll back the recent driver changes???

You can try to boot in text mode (no graphics) and check /etc/X11 directory. Usually, whenever a change in graphics settings occurs, the system makes a backup of the original configuration file (xorg.conf) and then applies the new settings. So, you can try to replace the current configuration file (xorg.conf) with the old one (xorg.conf.backup), if it exists...
