Display Filepath/filename AND display form property/version

Hello
I am creating 3 forms for my school in LiveCycle. The user would like the filepath/filename to be displayed at the bottom of the printed form AND the version number.
Now I can manually change the version number in a text box or text field no problem. I would much rather the actual "Version" that is typed into the Form Properties window be displayed instead.
I have read several posts on several forums on displaying filepath/filename, but none of the suggestions seem to work. I have not found ANY information on how to display information from the Form Properties. I am assuming that the Form Properties are stored in XML, but heck if I know how to get to them.
any help on these issues would be greatly appreciated!!

I created a sample form for you. The code is on the initialize event of each field.

Style 300 display key lock and display dimming

I am used to my moziac, where I can flip up the power switch and the display dimms and the keys/controls are disabled. I can't find out how to do this on the style 300. I adjusted the dimm time to 5 seconds and dimming level to 0%,? but the unit continues to play with the display on 00% all the time. I know this wastes battery life and would like to find out how to turn the display off while it is playing (at least until I press a button and want to view the display)

Menu-->Settings-->Phone-->Auto Keyguard-->On.. and set time as required...
Difference between Power Saver and Sleep Mode.. is when you have gone in some menu and do not operate the phone for a certain period.. A Clock will come on screen (Power Saver Mode..) and the Screen will go Blank ( Sleep Mode.).. when you press some key.. it will come to life again...

In XML Show Form display Creator FirstName and LastName ?

Hi all,
In XML Form Builder i want to display the creator FirstName and LastName ( Diamond Admin) in the Show Form.
For egs:
Logon ID: diamond_admin
Last Name: Admin
First Name: Diamond
In the EDIT Form By using $sap_user and also createdBy property i'm getting the creator name as diamond_admin but i want to display the FirstName and LastName (Diamond Admin).
2)In the EDIT Form i used the Label for Time Based Publishing(TBP)
Opening Date = TimeStamp control
Closing Date = TimeStamp control
In the RenderList Form i'm showing the Closing Date label its display the date and time.
Closing Date= 05/12/08 08:00:00 PM
But i requirement is to show the closing date only not time(Closing Date= 05/12/08) in the RenderListItem Form..
How to do this?Please help me...

When you are editing the Show Form, select the correct label in the form and in the property list area (bottom right) you have a property named "Display As". Select "Display Name" for the value.
Make sure that in your Data Model your property has the data type "user"
The "Display As" parameter should also work for your date problem as you can select "Short" to only display the date.

What is tthe Best practice for Variant List, Add, Edit and Display Forms?

Requirement:
I have single list. The list has a large number of columns and a large number of items (lets say 20,000).
I want to show users a different view of the list based on clicking on a different left-hand navigation option.
Lets say I have four types of users: Sales, Manufacturing, Shipping and Finance. I would like to have four options in the left-hand navigation.
All of them would be pointing at the same list, BUT, I want each of them to have a customer list form. The only difference between the custom list forms would be:
Each would have its own set of views, and hence its own default view.
Each would have its own New, Edit and Display Forms. The only difference between the forms in one variant list and another would be: The order of the columns and which columns are modifiable.
I would like to achieve this in SharePoint Designer in such a way that the "users" could still add/modify views and could even modify the forms from the SharePoint Menu. BTW, I don't want to use InfoPath for obvious reasons.
What is the best approach to meeting this requirement? I have at least 20 sites and 70 lists overall that need variant forms made.

Hi,
I understand that you want to have different forms based on different view.
Per my knowledge, there are no out of box method to achieve it.
As a workaround, you can add the JavaScript code to the different view page.
For example, to open different new form based on different view, you can get the windows.location, and then judge the view, then change the onclick event of the "New item" button.

how can i store a word document in database through forms 6i or 10g, and display it through forms from database.
i know how to store a binary file in database through DBMS_LOB package, but i want to do it throug forms. is it possible?

Warning: It is easy if you use an OLE-Object - but OLE is a special format. The result will not be the same as with dbms_LOB.
We have a application with documents stored via OLE - terrible!
OLE is no longer supported by forms 10. But webutil would help.

Solution
Assuming a fresh "Complete" install of Oracle Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2,
here are steps to get a small test form running, using WebUtil 1.06.
Note: [OraHome] is used as an alias for your real oDS ORACLE_HOME.
Feel free to copy this note to a text editor, and do a global find/replace on
[OraHome] with your actual value (no trailing slash). Then it is easy to
copy/paste actual commands to be executed from the note copy.
1) Download http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/jacob-project/jacob_18.zip
and extract to a temporary staging area. Do not attempt to use 1.7 or 1.9.
2) Copy or move jacob.jar and jacob.dll
[JacobStage] is the folder where you extracted Jacob, and will end in ...\jacob_18
     cd [JacobStage]
     copy jacob.jar [OraHome]\forms\java\.
     copy jacob.dll [OraHome]\forms\webutil\.
The Jacob staging area is no longer needed, and may be deleted.
3) Sign frmwebutil.jar and jacob.jar
Open a DOS command prompt.
Add [OraHome]\jdk\bin to the PATH:
     set PATH=[OraHome]\jdk\bin;%PATH%
Sign the files, and check the output for success:
     [OraHome]\forms\webutil\sign_webutil [OraHome]\forms\java\frmwebutil.jar
     [OraHome]\forms\webutil\sign_webutil [OraHome]\forms\java\jacob.jar
4) If you already have a schema in your RDBMS which contains the WebUtil stored code,
you may skip this step. Otherwise,
Create a schema to hold the WebUtil stored code, and privileges needed to
connect and create a stored package. Schema name "WEBUTIL" is recommended
for no reason other than consistency over the user base.
Open [OraHome]\forms\create_webutil_db.sql in a text editor, and delete or comment
out the EXIT statement, to be able to see whether the objects were created witout
errors.
Start SQL*Plus as SYSTEM, and issue:
     CREATE USER webutil IDENTIFIED BY [password]
     DEFAULT TABLESPACE users
     TEMPORARY TABLESPACE temp;
     GRANT CONNECT, CREATE PROCEDURE, CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM TO webutil;
     CONNECT webutil/[password]@[connectstring]
     @[OraHome]\forms\create_webutil_db.sql
     -- Inspect SQL*Plus output for errors, and then
     CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM webutil_db FOR webutil.webutil_db;
Reconnect as SYSTEM, and issue:
     grant execute on webutil_db to public;
5) Modify [OraHome]\forms\server\default.env, and append [OraHome]\jdk\jre\lib\rt.jar
to the CLASSPATH entry.
6) Start the OC4J instance
7) Start Forms Builder and connect to a schema in the RDBMS used in step (4).
Open webutil.pll, do a "Compile ALL" (shift-Control-K), and generate to PLX (Control-T).
It is important to generate the PLX, to avoid the FRM-40039 discussed in
Note 303682.1
If the PLX is not generated, the Webutil.pll library would have to be attached with
full path information to all forms wishing to use WebUtil. This is NOT recommended.
8) Create a new FMB.
Open webutil.olb, and Subclass (not Copy) the Webutil object to the form.
There is no need to Subclass the WebutilConfig object.
Attach the Webutil.pll Library, and remove the path.
Add an ON-LOGON trigger with the code
         NULL;
to avoid having to connect to an RDBMS (optional).
Create a new button on a new canvas, with the code
         show_webutil_information (TRUE);
in a WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger.
Compile the FMB to FMX, after doing a Compile-All (Shift-Control-K).
9) Under Edit->Preferences->Runtime in Forms Builder, click on "Reset to Default" if
the "Application Server URL" is empty.
Then append "?config=webutil" at the end, so you end up with a URL of the form
      http://server:port/forms/frmservlet?config=webutil

    I filled the value in the table and displayed in the view,In that view i have one button"TOPDF".
    My requirement is,if i click that button,i want to display the table in the PDF output.
    For the above requirement,i created another view with interactive form,In that view i created one "pdf" Node and "soure" as a attribute of Type-xstring.Then i binded the soure attribute withe "pdfdatasoure" of my interactive form view.
    Now my doubt is how and where can i pass the table values to pdf output.
    can any body cleare my doubt with some sample code.

Hello Ravi,
Best would be to bind the dataSource of the InteractiveForm ui element to the parent node containing the table's data. Then specify a name of a template to be created in the templateSource and hit <enter>. Some popups later, the system will have created a template from the structure of the context. All you need to do now is to drag&drop the data structure inside the template designer to the template itself. This will result in a table. Save, activate and return the Web Dynpro view. Don't forget to unbind the pdfSource and enjoy.

Running Windows 7, all versions of Firefox beyond 3.6.0 will not access websites, showing Error 404 and displaying only the portion of the URL that follows the domain name

Choosing any of several dozen bookmarks, Firefox will show a screen reporting Error 404 and display only part of the complete URL (whatever follows the slant mark beyond the domain name). When going to a new site, such as provided by a Google search, the initial page may show up but clicking on links within that page again brings up the 404 error. My only solution has been to uninstall whatever new version of Firefox has been automatically downloaded and then re-install version 3.6.0, which works.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.

Try this: select one of the photos that are showing the wrong title and use the Photos ➙ Batch Change ➙ Title to File Name menu option.
See if that will put the name that you want under the thumbnail.
