Display lines first 10 records field1 next 10 records field2

HI
i have an issue in oracle reports.
i need to display the first 10 records in field1 next 10 record field2
please give me a idea my mail id is [email protected]
Regards,
Kamaraj

In OBIEE 10g, within the 'table view properties' options (second icon from left in the edit table screen) you will see an option for rows per page. Set this to 10 and the arrows should appear.
It can be quite hard to find the screen in question. From the pivot table builder screen, click the big round icon to the left of 'compound layout' drop down. Then you need to click the 'Edit View' icon in the header of the table. Finally you can then click the 'table view properties' icon, second left.
Good luck,
Paul

• First day of next month

Hi,
My requirement is to display the first day of next month when a month and year are selected in the dashboard prompt. .
I have 2 prompts, one for Month and the other for Year.
For example if an user selects 2012 for Year and 09(September) for Month, my column in the report should display 10/1/2012
Please help in getting this logic working.
I am using OBIEE 10.1.3

Use min(date), this always return first day of selected Year,month
Then add a month to this date.
Or else get the date of the month and use at DATE
TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_MONTH, 1, TIMESTAMPADD( SQL_TSI_DAY , DAYOFMONTH( DATE) * -(1) + 1, DATE))
Pls mark as correct/helpful if helps
Appreciate if you update your other post with helpful/correct

• Query for next record in a multiple records display

Hi. I have a text item whose data block displays 10 records after post query. I want to put a query on the keyboard up and down button so that when i press the up or down arrow of the keyboard, the cursor moves to the next record and executes the post query trigger. I tried using the next_record command but the cursor remains on the first record and then tries to create a new record there instead of moving to the next record outputted by the initial post query trigger. I hope you get my point. Thanks

Hi,

I tried using the next_record command but the cursor remains on the first record and then tries to create a new record there instead of moving to the next record outputted by the initial post query trigger. I hope you get my point. You do not have to query again for moving cursor up and down. You have to use KEY-UP and KEY-DOWN with NEXT_RECORD and PREVIOUS_RECORD built-ins. Use FIRST_RECORD and LAST_RECORD for boundary conditions.

• Php page won't display the first record

I have the following code, but it always skip the first row of the records pull from an Oracle table:
include "utility_functions.php";
// Form the query and execute it
$sql = "select * from dept where cid=".$_GET['q'];
$result_array = execute_sql_in_oracle ($sql);
$result = $result_array["flag"];
$cursor = $result_array["cursor"];
if ($result == false){
display_oracle_error_message($cursor);
die("Client Query Failed.");
// Display the query results
echo "
";
$values = oci_fetch_array ($cursor);
//echo $values[0];
// Fetch the result from the cursor one by one
while ($values = oci_fetch_array($cursor)){
$did = $values[0];
$dname = $values[1];
echo("
$dname
");
oci_free_statement($cursor);
echo "
";
for example, I have the following in dept table:
did    dname
1     Business
2     Education
3     Math
4     English
It will only list: education, math, and english. Any clues?

What does execute_sql_in_oracle() do?
Try following example code, such as from:
http://www.php.net/manual/en/oci8.examples.php
http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.oci-fetch-array.php
http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.oci-bind-by-name.php
It's extremely insecure (and slow) to do a query made up with string concatenation like:
$sql = "select * from dept where cid=".$_GET['q'];
You probably need to first sanitize $_GET to remove anything malicious. Then you must use a bind variable on the sanitized result.

Hi!
May there is already a delivery address for that customer in the table, so it is a good choice
to just insert a new record 'DELIVERY ADDRESS' if there is no one.
May try a pre-insert trigger:
begin
if
:address_type = 'INVOICE ADDRESS'
then
insert into customer_detail
select :cust_id, 'DELIVERY ADDRESS', :contact_name, :mobile_no, :delivery_address,
:off_contact_no, :email_id, :city, :pin_code, :country, :contact_name_1,
:contact_name_2, :MOBILE_NO_1, :MOBILE_NO_2, :OFF_CONTACT_NO_1, :OFF_CONTACT_NO_2,
:EMAIL_ID_1, :EMAIL_ID_2
from dual
where not exists ( select 1 from customer_detail
where cust_id = :cust_id
and   address_type = 'DELIVERY ADDRESS' );
end if;
end;You could do the same, if you insert a new 'DELIVERY ADDRESS' and there is no 'INVOICE ADDRESS'.

• Conditional Sum and look at next record

First off, here is an example XML structure
<DATASET>
<DATASET_ROW>
<DEPARTMENT>1</DEPARTMENT>
<FEE>30</FEE>

<DIVISION>Displayed Title2</DIVISION>
</DATASET_ROW>
<DATASET_ROW>

<FEE>30</FEE>
<DIVISION>Displayed Title 5</DIVISION>
</DATASET_ROW>
<DATASET_ROW>
<DEPARTMENT>2</DEPARTMENT>
<FEE>80</FEE>
<DIVISION>Displayed Title 6</DIVISION>
</DATASET_ROW>
<DATASET_ROW>
<DEPARTMENT>3</DEPARTMENT>

<DATASET_ROW>
<DEPARTMENT>3</DEPARTMENT>

<DIVISION>Displayed Title 8</DIVISION>

<DATASET_ROW>
<DEPARTMENT>4</DEPARTMENT>
<FEE>30</FEE>

Is there any way to get a sum of a field grouped by two different fields? Example in my RTF I have a repeating group based on DIVISION which inserts section breaks. Using the example I have posted here what I have in my RTF template is a sum of FEE (assume there are multiple records for DIVISION though only 1 is shown here) that displays on every page for the current group. Each DIVISION is printed on its own page. However, at the end of each DEPARTMENT, I also need to print a summary total of the sum of FEE over all records for that DEPARTMENT on the same page as the last page of the last DIVISION.
So far, I have been able to get it to do the subtotals for each DEPARTMENT as they are within the scope of my loop. The tricky part I am unsure of how best to go about doing is getting and displaying the conditional grand total. My initial idea was to use a variable and do it manually in my template but then I relaized I did not know how to find out if the next record was the first record in the next Department or not. In this case, I am hoping to stick within the realm of using straight SQL Query as my datasource because its already done. The other option I considered was nested loops and a data template but then I realized that I wasn't too sure about manually inserting the section breaks.
Any thoughts?

Yes, you can do that,
Pass me the template and XML :)
<?if:position() = last()?>
Last Record
<? end if ?>
then display the sub-total for department at the last division.
This link , gives you idea of , how to display at the last

Use
xdofo:inline-total display-condition="last"

• Help with pushing records to next page in report

Hi,
I am trrying to create a report that will display records on seperate pages. My record set has a common reference number with many other detail columns. So an example would be:
ref num 1 detail detail detail
ref num 1 detail detail detail
ref num 1 detail detail detail
ref num 2 detail detail detail
ref num 2 detail detail detail
ref num 2 detail detail detail
and so on...
I need the report to take the records from ref num1 for the first page (or more if necessary) and then start a new page for the next record and so on. I have tried using the "New page after" function with no sucess and really hope someone here has overcome this and can help.
Thanks a mil
Phil.

Hi Sastry,
The report is actually a batch of invoices. I have a stored Procedure returning the records of the invoices and the report template is so far set up as follows,
the page header has unique invoice details listed there.
--- name and address etc
the details section is supressed
there is a group footer section with the repeating product details of the invoice there.
--- date, product 1, amount, total
--- date, product 2, amount, total etc...
the report is sorted by the date of the products in the croup section
there is a page footer section similar to the page header.
--- totals information
when the report is for one invocie it will work as the products all appear in the group section as expected. when the report is for more than one invoice it mixes all the records up and prints two invoices with incorrect details. the record set returned by the stored procedure is as per my first thread.
I hope this makes some sense. I have not had much crystal reports training and may need to start this one from scratch. Bacically we have a system that uses crystal to print our invoices. The system will only ever output one invoice record at a time. I copied the report template hoping i could adapt it to be able to print many records at a time as a report.
Thanks a mil for you time all the same.

• Php (skip to next record in database)?

Is there a function in php that will skip to the next record in a database and return it to the page if the one its looping through is out of date?
Here is my senario.
I have 30 events in a database starting from January 10th 2012 through to December 20th 2012 listed by date - 2012-01-10, 2012-12-20 etc
On the websites home page I want to list the 3 'next' dates. Obviously January 10th has expired but is still listed in the database. The easiest option would be to delete the record from the data base I guess but was wondering if I can automate the process?
I can list the 3 dates starting with record one in the database with DW proprietary php code:
<?php do { ?>

<?php
echo $row_rsEvents['event_date']."
";
echo $row_rsEvents['event_title'],"
";
echo $row_rsEvents['event_details'];
?>

<?php } while ($row_rsEvents = mysql_fetch_assoc($rsEvents)); ?>
I can hide an expired date by comparing the date in the database with the current date
<?php
$date = date('Y-m-d');
?>
<?php do { ?>
<div class="event" <?php if($date > $row_rsEvents['event_date']) { echo " style='display: none;'"; }?>>
<?php
echo $row_rsEvents['event_date']."
";
echo $row_rsEvents['event_title'],"
";
echo $row_rsEvents['event_details'];
?>

<?php } while ($row_rsEvents = mysql_fetch_assoc($rsEvents)); ?>
However that then just shows 2 dates as the code still loops through the records from the start of the database.
Any ideas or pointers?
Os

Murray *ACP* wrote:
You could also do it like this -
<?php do {
if(!$date > $row_rsEvents['event_date']) { ?>

<?php
echo $row_rsEvents['event_date']."
";
echo $row_rsEvents['event_title'],"
";
echo $row_rsEvents['event_details'];
?>

<?php } // end if ?>
<?php } while ($row_rsEvents = mysql_fetch_assoc($rsEvents)); ?>
When the date is not greater than the event date, the loop just falls through to the next fetch.
That just seems to kill any output. I tried a few loops within loops yesterday but could never stop the expired date from being selected for the database. First solution appears to have done the trick so I'm happy.

• T-SQL: Cursor is not advancing to next record

SQL Version:  2008 R2
Problem: I have the code below which uses a cursor. The cursor keeps returning the first record and does not advance to the next record in the cursor. It appears as if the Fetch Next is not being recognized. The Select
Statement in the cursor declaration returns two records which is the result set I expect to be contained in the cursor record set.

DEALLOCATE CertGroupCursor
Bob Sutor

The real question is how to get rid of this mess. Think about the local “@remove_audit_user” as a variable; it's name is a verb, not a noun! and the NVARCHAR(n) lets you use Chinese Unicode. Why? In ISO-11179 rules , “remove_” is a called a role, and the
audit user would be the attribute with the attribute property “_user” in a valid data model. Where is the table that models “audit_users”? It has to be here by definition.
One of the first rules of data modeling is that a data element has one and only one name. This is a results of the Law of Identity in Logic (A is A: to be is to be something in particular, to be nothing in particular or many things in general is to be nothing
at all).
So how did “G.remove_audit_user = U.vp_user_name” occur?? ANSWER: lack of a design!
Your “G.group_code = U.process_group_id” is wrong. An identifier is not a code! TOTALLY DIFFERENT type of data elements! Do you have a postal code or a postal id? Blood_type or blood_id? Etc.? Have you ever read a book on basic data modeling?
The purpose of PRINT is debugging and not output. We had joke in the ANSI X3H2 Committee that SQL means “scarcely Qualified as a Language” because there is no I/O. PRINT will screw up performance in so many ways.
In a properly designed schema, we seldom use SELECT DISTINCT; we have keys and a valid schema that does not produce redundant duplicate rows. It might be valid, but after 30+ years of SQL, I would bet against it.
Your statement would use an EXISTS() predicate to handle multiple columns and conditions. But you did not bother with DDL, as required by basic Netiquette, so here is the skeleton I can give you.
DELETE FROM UD_Audit_Users
WHERE EXIST
(SELECT *
FROM UD_Cert_Groups AS G
WHERE G.process_group_id = ??
AND G.vp_user_name = ??;

• How to implement JSF text input down-arrow key = next record navigation?

Hi All,
I've got a small query which you experts might be able to help me through. I would not be surprised if such questions would already have been raised in this forum.
Formerly, I've created an Oracle Form that allow user to quickly insert data in bulk. It only has three 3 fields - first name, second name and address. Because of the flexibility of the Oracle Form, by pressing the down arrow key, user is able to create record when the last record is detected. And vice versa by hitting the up arrow key, it will move to the previous record when the current record is not the first record. So basically, the form is very 'key-driven' and without the use of the mouse, a lot of data can be inserted very quickly and efficiently.
I've successfully converted such form to an ADF BC JSF page using the JHeadstart toolkit. But when I showed it to my users for comment, they were really disappointed with the number of mouse interactions they need to click every time to navigate between records as well as creating new records. My question is can I build some sort of ADF JSF event handler on any of the text items to perform the following tasks:
1.) When 'down arrow key' is pressed AND not the last record THEN
Go to the next record.
2.) When 'down arrow key' is pressed AND is the last record THEN
Go to the next blank record.
3.) When 'up arrow key' is pressed AND not the first record THEN
Go to the previous record.
4.) When 'up arrow key' is pressed AND is the first record THEN
Do nothing.
If all the four above tasks are achievable in ADF JSF, can you please guide and brief me on the steps to implement them. Or these functionalities are already available somewhere in other open source toolkits. Your help is much appreciated. Thank you and have a nice day.
Kind Regards,
John

Hi Steven,
I've tried to incoporated attached link's codes with the JHeadstart generated code inside the jspx but I still cannot get it to work. There is a lot of Javascript error and is impossible to debug.

• Update and move to next record

Sorry if this is a simple question.
I have a form that links to an access database. The page
calls the fields and there is no problem.
I want to be able to have users check the database
information, and make any changes and then update and move to the
next record.
In the update button wizard it asks for a page to go to once
updated - I just need it to move forward.
Thanks for any help.

Hi,
I am not clear what you said. But I assume you mean to say:
Right after comming in your if statement you want to update the record first and then you need the validation?? If this is right then you have to move the validation just after the update statement and then print a message just before "END IF".
