Display messagebox at startup

I have made a batchfile which uninstalles office 2003 and installs office 2010. Office 2010 is configured thru OCT so starts in the batchfile with a msp file.
Uninstalling and installing 2010 is started thru a computer startup script in Group Policy.
Installing goes fine however in the OCT i have configured that the user can see that office is beiing installed, this is however not displayed on the users system. Also build in a command in the batchfile that a screen must displayd that office is beiing
installed, also this box is not displayed.
Conclusion: when the batchfile runs thru computer startup policy no info boxes are displayed, nothing is displayed so there is nothing for the user to see when the install is ready, how can i arrange that when installing thru computer startup script?
When starting the setup with the msp from OCT office install the box display are displayed only thru gpo nothing is displayed?

There are a lot of log files after setting the logging on. I can't find anything about upgrade patch.
Strange thing is having the setup started again so deleted the install of office 2010 and deleting accessruntime and let the policy run again on the machine, the message about upgradepatch cannot be run because....is appearing again however the installation
for Office and accessruntime where started and finsihed because they where both (version 7015) installed.....
Fact is i cannot be 100% sure it runs succesfully everytime, yesterday it failed 4 times and this day it succeed but the message appears at first.
Something important i gueass: the message appears right after the restart before the installation of Office starts but in the logfiles at the last logfiles i saw this:

IMPORTANT:
Tried: removing the update files from Office 2010 which where in the updates folder of the installation folders.
Started the system, first was the message appearing.....nothing changed.
Only when Office 2003 is installed and then i let the gpo run on the machine the message: upgradepatch cannot be installed.....is not appearing. When the gpo applies to that machine and remove Office 2003, install Office and runtime then after a restart
and the gpo runs again the message appears. (it is a bit annoying when the user restarts his machine after the install and such a message appears because the gpo is not directly removed for the users...
The message is gone. There was a other policy inherited from above that caused the message. The only problem now is that when installing both, runtime 2010 with SP2 files and Office 2010 with SP2 files, then one of the two don't get the Sp2 installed, why
is that?

Display resolution on startup

Suddenly when I startup the display during the startup sequence is very different than my user settings. Sometimes it corrects when the user account loads but other times I have to reset the resolution in the Display preferences.
Any way to fix this?

Intel iMac & PB G4 Mac OS X (10.4.8)

display preferences are supposed to be in:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist
~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.preference.XX.plist
~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.windowserver.XX.plist
you could try moving those files to desktop, thne restart, see if it works.
if it does not fix the problem, move the files back to proper locations.
maybe run permissions repair from Disk Utility just in case.
try at your own risk though.

Macbook display darken on startup?

Hi Guys,
Quick question about my macbook.
For quite a while now, on startup, the display brightness is darker than what it previously was.
I will go into sydtem preferences, brighten the screen, hen often when re-starting or waken the computer from sleep - the screen will be daken again.
Is there a little trick that I'm missing here?

Begin by holding the power button down to do a hard shutdown. Then start in safe mode by holding the shift key down immediately after pressing the start button until you see a progress bar. Let it start this way and then try a normal restart.

Display issues on startup

Here's the setup. it's a PowerMac G5 2GHz DP with a 256MB NVidia AGP display card being used with an Apple Cinema Display 30" monitor. It boots up perfectly using the Mac OS X 10.4.x DVD that came with it. It boots up perfectly using a Firewire drive but only in Safe Mode and perfectly on the internal hard drive but only in Safe Mode (Shift key held down at startup).
The issue is that when booting from the external Firewire hard drive, it proceeds with the Apple logo and then the spinning gear. Near the end of the boot process, the spinning gear gets overlaid with a orange square (you can still see the gear spinning), then the monitir switches to black and white and the Apple logo and spinning gear pixelate. At the end of this the screen then goes to black.
On the internal hard drive the spinning gear immediately is overlaid with a blue square which then goes orange then black and white with pixelation to a black screen.
I have taken out the card and reinserted it and the issue remains. I suspect it is a video card with a minor defect which shows up when drivers are being loaded ( the problem does not occur in Safe Mode or Target Disk Mode).

Yes, that is the perfect sign of Video card/VRAM problems, Safe mode disables Quartz & Open GL.
By removing the NVDAResman.kext file from the extensions folder, my machine is now able to start up in normal mode with no noticeable side effects except for an inability for the machine to be put to sleep

Based on my understanding, for this scenario, if you want to show message from WCF, you could invoke the corresponding WCF service from Web application. And display the return message to the users in the web application.
First you could create the WCF services, and host the WCF service so that you could invoke the service.
Then, add the service reference in your web application and invoke the methods provided by the WCF services, and show the result to the user in your web application.

Sum and display messagebox

Okay, so I need to sum the values of a particular cell in a table, display that value, then display a message if they sum to more than 100. I tried to use javascript, but I couldn't figure out how to make a sum function. With FormCalc the sum function is built-in and works perfectly, but I can't get the message box to work. Here's what I have so far (in the calculate event):

24" iMac display woes on startup

About a month and a half ago I began to notice my display would not come up when I powered up my iMac. The power light would come on but no display would show. I obviously tried everything suggested in the Support pages and then called Apple Support and they had me do everything a 2nd time. After talking with support they shipped out parts and had a tech come work on my iMac.
My computer was worked on about two weeks ago and the problem was at first solved, but now it is back again. I can occasionally get the display to come on if I cross my fingers just right. I am really sick of this problem, has anyone had similar problems? When the guy came out and "repaired" my iMac he put a new graphics card in and that was to supposedly fix the problem. Sometimes the display will work perfectly when I start the iMac but rarely. Sometimes the display will come on but it is dimmer than full brightness and when I go to turn up the display brightness with F15 it shows as at max, so I try F14 to turn it down but it will go down a notch from full brightness then automatically check back up to full.
I'm really looking for any help possible even if somebody just tells me to call Apple again. I'm at wits end because I've had this machine worked on twice now and the problems never seem to stop. Have I just gotten a lemon? I had a Powerbook G4 for three years and never had any issues with it.
I am almost certain this is not a software issue so I haven't bothered formatting and reinstalling everything, could that help for any reason?

It didn't cost you cash out to get it fixed - certainly better not have, so let Apple keep fixing it until they get it right.
Apple REALLY does not want you to have this problem, they want you happy and using it so that you'll want more Macs. The quicker you can let them know it still isn't right, the quicker they can send someone out again to try something else.
Although it's not always evident ahead of time what needs to be done, they can fix it, and they will, regardless how much effort, or how many parts it takes them, without quibbling, so don't hesitate to keep them informed. At some point, if they put too much effort into it, they'll decide to just replace it.
That's all it should take - inform them, no need to complain or anything dramatic, as they get plenty of those calls from others who haven't even bought a Mac yet. You know the kind of calls - "why can't I get a black one, I'll pay extra for it?"

Installed 10.5.3, now no display even at startup!

I installed the 10.5.3 update on my MacBook Pro and it worked fine until later the same day I put the machine into standby, then it wouldn't come out of standby. So I forced a shutdown, rebooted, and the same - no display. The hard drive is working, there's just no display at all.
My understanding is that a lot of people have had this problem with MacBook Pros, before and since 10.5.3 - but rather a few directly related to 10.5.3. My question I'd be really grateful for help with, is what else can I try besides resetting PRAM? Many thanks!

I'm still stuck with my Macbook Pro having a dead screen 99 per cent of the time after updating to 10.5.3.
On rare occasions it will boot, and everything works just fine until I either put the machine to sleep or shut it down - and then it's more likely than not, come next time I want to use it, the screen is dead.
I'm avoiding constant forced shutdowns when this happens by avoiding keep trying the machine, full stop, because the last thing I want is to lose my data due to the hard drive giving up after the constant abuse of a load of forced shutdowns.
Help?
Am I going to have to try wiping the entire machine and then never daring to use Apple's Software Update again for fear of an authorised, legit update toasting my display?

Blue Screen- display off at startup/ login or while working

I am having issue with my HP probook 4510S, win 7 32 bit. Display is getting lost suddenly and harddisk light stops flashing. sometime on hard boot it get started immediately and sometime again no display..
If I look at the action centre that its shod video harware error.
No solution by sending the crash report.

Stop Screensaver From Displaying Immediately After Startup

I have xscreensaver installed. I have no DE, I just use Awesome for a WM.
I start xscreensaver in my .xinitrc with
xscreensaver -no-splash &
and this mostly works. However shortly after starting X (maybe 10 seconds or so), the screensaver always tries to start. This occurs even if I've already started using my computer, so most of the time it will open and immediately close because it happens while I'm typing or moving the mouse. After that it works as expected: only appearing after 15 minutes of inactivity.
How do I stop the screensaver from displaying right after X starts?

No display backlight after startup?

This happened three weeks ago, and the guy at the Apple store told me that if this happened again to hold down one of the "F" keys (I believe) and something else to restore some kind of settings.
I should have listened; it was over my head.
Anyway, what happens is I turn on my MacBook Pro and the wheel lights up/blue screen works. Then when I get to the login screen, the backlight turns SO dim, it's basically black.
If I could only remember those keys he told me to hit...

I think you mean display reboot: option/command/eject.
Although this does not work on my MBP/ACD setup. I shine a bright light on the dark screen (or through Apple logo on lid), open System Prefs > Displays and adjust the brightness control, which has gone to near zero. Voila: bright screen ... till next wake from sleep.

Display issues on startup with iMac

Hi all,
I was successfully installation with GRUB-EFI on iMac (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=149657)
But now I could not continue after GRUB.
I have no ways to upload my picture because I'm using Mac OSX's recovery media to post/show this forum.
My display shows up some progresses and randomly appears yellow or blue blocks and lines and Fleezes.
After poweroff by hands, same issue. It looks horrible. But Graphics card is fine there are no error with using this recovery media and GRUB's bootloader.
THe screen stop "Waiting for udev uevents to be proceed [BUSY]" and screen stops and can't type anything.
It seems latest installation media's bug?? I use archlinux-2012.09.07-dual.iso and boot was same error after boot screen.
I use 2012.08.04-dual.iso was okay. I don't know how to avoid this bootup.
Please give me some advices?

No I (never) don't. I used ArchBang why just want to check GRUB2 work and to run web browser on my iMac (I don't have any other machiens... my laptop server was still broken whatever...) And now I use to post/check forums with Macintosh's recovery web disk. Now my only OperatingSystems are shreded. I aporogize all to give some misunderstanding.

Macbook air not displaying anything after startup

i wanted to clean reinstall of Mac OS X Lion on my macbook air, so first i holded command + R key, than after few mins few options like reinstall os x lion,than time machine, and disk utility so i clicked on disk utility and erased my macbook air ssd and than i closed that dialog box and went to reinstall os x lion on my macbook air, and than it started but than due to some kind of internet problems that process stoped and got cancelled and noww whenever im turning on My MBA nothing happens just a white screen comes displaying a folder in between of the screen thats it.. and nothing happens, does anyone have any idea what should i do.

This is really a problem since i need to save stuff for school work and i can't currently do that.

It happens anytime I log in, try to save something, or open a new application that may require me to save something. Any advice would be helpful

Test Agent - QTAgentProcessUI - Display on Startup Problem

Hello,
Currently we have a suite of VM's setup on Amazons Web Services (AWS) that have been configured with TFS 2013 Test Agents. These Agents are configured in Interactive Mode as we are attempting to automate our CodedUI tests. Everything is working correctly
with our Test Controller and Test Agent setup. I am using Agents for TFS 2013 Update 4.
The problem is with the QTAgentProcessUI.exe and the "Display this window at startup" checkbox. No matter how many times I uncheck this option to mark it as "do not display this on startup", every single time after a restart, the checkbox
is checked again and the window is displayed.
If i also uncheck this box, perform a correct "Quit" of the application and then fire it up again, the application returns and the checkbox is clicked on again.
I have done some research and the only other solution someone recommended was to do a complete reinstall of windows. I have tried this and I still have the same problem. I've even tried setting up some Powershell scripts to find the QTAgentProcessUI process
and Close the main window, which works if I run the script directly but fails for unknown reasons when run during a Build.
This is becoming a real problem as it is blocking the test application and therefore our tests fail. I'm at my wits end and would just like this tool to work as it's obviously meant to and I'm all out of ideas. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas on
how to fix this?
