Display parameters on report

I have a parameter prompt which is a number that allows multiple values.
The table only has two entries 0 and 1.
I've hidden the values in the parameter and show only the description that I've set.
So if 0 = 'Hello'
and 1 = 'Goodbye'
on the report I'd like to see 'Hello', 'Goodbye' or 'Hello, Goodbye' depending on what the user selected.
I've done this in the past using
Join({?My_Parameter} , ', ' )
but I can't use this as the parameter isn't a string.
How can I do what I want here?

I don't think that you can get the description values using value field from the parameter. Since you hav only two values you can try this formula
Local numberVar i;
Local stringVar str;
for i:=1 to count({?My Parameter}) step 1 do
if {?My Parameter}<i>=0 then
str:=str+" "+"Hello"
else
str:=str+" "+"Goodbye";
str

  • BEx hierarchies not displayed in Crystal report parameters

    Hi All,
    I am trying to using a Bex query that has a cost center hierarchy with a variable that allows users to select specific nodes or even cost centers. In BEx reports, this query works fine and gives the users the view of the cost centres in a hierarchial manner. However, in Crystal reports, the query provides a drop down menu displaying a simple list of all the cost centres (not in a hierarchial manner). This confuses the user as to which element is a node and which is a cost centre
    Kindly suggest how can we achieve the cost centre hierarchy to appear in the parameters in Crystal.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    this is a duplicate to this entry:

  • Display a ALV report in EP

    Hi,
    What is the best way to display an ALV report in the Portal?
    I would like the report to be displayed in the GUI of the Portal (meaning, I would like to work with WebDynpro or PDK or any other way such that the GUI will be identical to all the other Portal objects).
    Thanks in advance,
    Aviad

    Hi,
    You can actually, as suggested by others, code the PDV_ALV found in the PDK yourself.
    All you need is to understand the workflow of the BAPI called "PORTAL_ALV_QUERY_CALL".
    This BAPI is configured to get the properties of a query and another BAPI (derived from Z_QUERY_SELECTIONS) which plants additional data in the original query.
    For example - If you wish to activate a query called myQuery1 in the user group FI-AP with a variant called TEST between a date range selected by the portal user. The parameters passed to the BAPI are as follows -
    "QUERY_NAME=myQuery1"
    "QUERY_USERGROUP=FI-AP"
    "QUERY_VARIANT=TEST"
    "QUERY_CREATE_SELTAB_FM=Z_QUERY_SELECTIONS_1"
    "FROM_DATE="
    "TO_DATE="
    What will happen in the background is that the query myQuery1 from the usergroup FI-AP will be activated using the variant TEST and using the QUERY_CREATE_SELTAB_FM value the date fileds will be assigned to their corresponding fields in the query. After the activation the BAPI will return a table with the result.
    Hope it helps,

  • Urgent: Issue while displaying the PDF Reports Using XDO Common region

    Hi all,
    In our product code we are trying to display the PDF Reports, using the xdo common region.
    Previously we were writing the pdf reports direclty onto the response direclty.
    This displays the report onto the browser but if navigate throw browser back button, it doesn't displays the report as the response stream is empty while navigating through back button.
    So to solve this issue, i tried to write the report using the OAHTMLWebBean and xdo common region. Here is the code:
    ByteArrayOutputStream xdoOutput = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
    XDOUtility.retrieveReport(xdoOutput,
    parameters,
    prop,
    appMod
    BlobDomain bxdoOutput = new BlobDomain();
    bxdoOutput.setBytes(xdoOutput.toByteArray());
    String redirectURL = DocumentHelper.getOutputURL(pageContext,
    bxdoOutput,
    "Report",
    "PDF");
    OAHTMLWebBean outRegion = (OAHTMLWebBean)createWebBean (pageContext, OAWebBeanConstants.HTML_WEB_BEAN, null, "IFRAME");
    outRegion.setHTMLAttributeValue("src", redirectURL);
    outRegion.setHTMLAttributeValue("width", "100%");
    outRegion.setHTMLAttributeValue("height", "100%");
    outRegion.setHTMLAttributeValue("title","Report");
    outRegion.setHTMLAttributeValue("name","Report");
    pageContext.getPageLayoutBean().addIndexedChild(outRegion);
    This successfully displays the report in the XDO Common region. But now the issue is that there are hyperlinks in the Report displayed where from where the user can navigate to other detail pages.
    When we click on these links, a new session starts in the xdo common region.
    Is it possible that when the user click the links in the report displayed, instead of starting a new session in the xdo region, the detail pages is displayed with in the older session.

  • Amounts not displayed correctly in reporting

    Hello,
    We are facing a problem with data displayed in a created workbook. Amounts are multiplied by 100000.
    We have loaded via file into BPC NW, and the information that is stored in the cube is 1.00000 (with 5 decimals), but what is displayed in the report 10,000.00 u2013 so it is reading the information as it is in the cube and putting two decimal places, which is not correct.
    We have been checking in the Application Set and the Application parameters, but could not any related parameter to set this property.
    I have been looking note 1231909, but does not apply to our case; our flat file does not contain thousands separators.
    Could someone help with this issue?
    Thanks&Kind regards,
    Begonia

    HI,
    Not sure if I got your query correctly. But in general when you load an amount lets say 1500 from a flat file, the format in which this 1500 gets store in the cube is 1.500 (in the cube the decimal digits appear after a 'comma' ) ... And in your report in BPC this same value appears as 1,500 ... I think the decimal places can be removed from the workbook by formating the cell to not show the decimal values.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Prasanth.

  • BI Publisher- Display Parameters?

    How do I display parameters in a report?
    I do a
    select *
    from table_name
    where vendor_name = :parameter1
    and start_date = :parameter2
    and end_date = :parameter3
    I can display all the * but the parameters...how do I show them?

    If you go into your RTF template, you first need to declare the parameters by using:
    <?param@begin:parameter1?>
    <?param@begin:parameter2?>
    <?param@begin:parameter3?>
    etc..
    then you can reference the value of the parameter by using <?$parameter1?>

  • Unable to pass parameters in Report Bulder due to single quotes

    Hello,
    I have a problem with parameters in Report Bulder.
    This is the query:
    where task.closed_at between (@Per)
    Then I need have to pass following value to @Per : DATEADD(month, -5, getdate()) and getdate()
    to get following:
    where task.closed_at between DATEADD(month, -5, getdate()) and getdate()
    But I suppose Report Builder put the values to quotes and WHERE looks like:
    where task.closed_at between 'DATEADD(month, -5, getdate()) and getdate()'
    and Builder returns syntax error.
    How can I solve this issue and avoid these single quotes surrounding the value?
    Thank you.

    Hi zotchy07,
    According to your description, you have a report created use Report Builder. You want to select data according to the search condition: task.closed_at within 5, 12 or 24 months.
    Please refer to the following steps to achieve your goal:
     1. In design surface, right-click Parameter and click Add Parameter.
     2. In Report Parameter Properties dialog box, type the name and prompt, set  Data Type to Integer.
     3. Click Available Values in left pane, check Specify Values.
     4. Click Add, set Label to 5, Value to -5.
     5. Repeat step4 above, set Label to 12, Value to -12, then Label to 24, Value to -24, then click OK.
     6. Right-click the dataset you used to retrieve data and open Dataset Properties dialog box.
     7. Click Filters in left pane, click Add.
     8. From Expression drop down list, select closed_at and set Operator to between.
     9. Click the first (fx) button and type the expression like below:
    =DateAdd("m", Parameters!param_name.Value,Today())
     10. Click the second (fx) button and type the expression like below, then click OK.
    =Today()
    In this way, when we preview the report, there are 3 selects in the parameter drop down list: 5, 12, 24. If we select 5 and click View Report, the data within 5 months will be displayed.

  • Where should parameter values be displayed on Financial reports?

    I write our Report Guidelines and have always said that the parameters must be displayed in the Page Header.  Or if space is an issue than Report Header is acceptable.  Now I have several people in our office telling me that parameters should be in the Report Footer.
    This seems crazy to me.
    I need your thoughts.
    Thanks

    hi,
    Parameters are generally placed in Report Header.
    If user is interested to see parameters on each page of report, then Page Header is apt.
    Also, parameters can be placed one-by-one vertically, if there are few. If there are many, they can be positioned side-by-side horizontally and then extending vertically.
    Also, ensure that report data/chart should be displayed on first page of report.
    My assumption why some of your colleagues suggested to place them in Report Footer is ,
    if parameters are multi-valued and there are more parameters, then user can select many values.
    So first page of the Report will be filled completely with parameters and values. User will not feel good as report data/chart is displayed on 2nd page of the report. If they are placed in Report Footer, User will be able to see the data in first page of the report and parameters stuff will be displayed in last pages.
    In case of lot of parameters(multi-valued) for a report, display very important parameters on Report Footer and place remaining on Report Footer.
    Also it depends upon the end user-to-user satisfaction where to display the parameters.

    Vamsee

  • Trigger a SQL Reporting Service Data Alert when a SharePoint List is updated & need to pass parameters to report

    We have been able to get a SSRS Data Alert to trigger a report to be emailed whenever an item is added to a specific SharePoint List.   The report can accept parameters but would like to be able to pass parameters that are used in the report.
    Is this possible? (I cross posted over at SharePoint dev. and was referred here)
    Thanks
    Νικοσ Γιαννιοσ

    Hi Nikos,
    Based on my understanding, you have deploy a parameter report to SharePoint site, then you have created a data alter for this report. Then you want to pass parameters to report then send alter, right?
    In Reporting Services, if the report has parameters, we should select values for the parameter, after report display, we can create a new data alter. Otherwise, the New Data Alter button is grayed out in the drop-down list of the Action button. So that the
    rule is created based on the filtered report. Please refer to below screenshot:
    If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

    Parameter Page Displays "Page Cannot Be Displayed" while running report

  • SSRS. Not passing fields/parameters to report when stored procedure keeps parameters inside IF statement

    So what I mean:
    I have stored procedure like this:
    CREATE PROCEDURE sp_Example
    @param1 NVARCHAR(20) = '',
    @param2 DATE = ''
    AS
    BEGIN
    IF (SELECT COUNT(*) FROM Table1 WHERE (Name = @param1 OR @param1 = '') AND (StartDate = @param2 OR @param2 = '')) > 2
    BEGIN
    SELECT Name, Date, Price, Etc
    FROM Table2
    WHERE (Name = @param1 OR @param1 = '') AND (StartDate = @param2 OR @param2 = '')
    END
    IF (SELECT COUNT(*) FROM Table1 WHERE (Name = @param1 OR @param1 = '') AND (StartDate = @param2 OR @param2 = '')) < 2
    BEGIN
    SELECT Name, Date, Price, Etc
    FROM Table3
    WHERE (Name = @param1 OR @param1 = '') AND (StartDate = @param2 OR @param2 = '')
    END
    END
    So in stored procedure are some input parameters and they are passed into IF statement.
    If I use this stored procedure as report's dataset (Microsoft Visual Studio 2013) in following:
    Add
    Dataset > Query
    Type: Stored Procedure > sp_Example It
    do NOT get any fields, but get parameters
    If I use this stored procedure in following:
    Add
    Dataset > Query
    Type: Text > EXECUTE
    sp_Example It get all required fields, but do NOT get parameters
    Of course If I add manually parameters or fields It not working.
    If I change IF statement
    in stored procedure something like:
    IF (1 < 3)
    BEGIN
    SELECT Name, Date, Price, Etc
    FROM Table3
    WHERE (Name = @param1 OR @param1 = '') AND (StartDate = @param2 OR @param2 = '')
    END
    It normally working in report (getting all fields and parameters). So problem is that I pass parameters to IF statement.
    Have you any ideas how to pass parameters to IF statement
    and get It correctly working on report?

    Hi Stanisolvas,
    Per my understanding that you are experending some issue when using the stored procedure to create the dataset, you can't get the fields to display under the dataset, right?
    I have tested on my local environment with the same script as your and can't reproduce the issue, Please try to check and provide more details information according to below points:
    What do you mean of not get any fields, Is that mean no table header along with the value will display? If you got any error message, please provide it.
    Did you use any temp table in the stored procedure, if so, the issue can be caused by the temp table you are using, please don't use temp table in it which will cause no fields display.
    If you use the second method to execute the procedure, please check to make sure you have added the script like below to make the parameters display in the report:
    exec sp_Example @Param1=@Param1,@Param2=@Param2
    Please execute the stored procedure in the SQL Server Management Studio like below to see if the stored procedure will works fine:
    exec sp_Example @Param1='Test1',@Param2='2014-10-15'
    If this work fine in the management studio, please try to create an new report to re-add this procedure.
    If you still have any problem, please feel free to ask.

    I ran the "ZPS/!ZPS" in RSRT where ZPS is the infoset name. In Dev, it displayed the values. In QA, it displayed the below messages:
    ECharacteristic 0TCAKYFNM does not exist. Check authorizations
    WThere are calculated elements. These results are bracketed [  ]

  • PR and PO should be display in IWBK report for stock item.

    Hi Exterts,
    Our client requirement is to display PR and PO number in IWBK report for stock item as well.
    I know PR and PO can be display in IWBK report for non-stock item but how we can display PR and PO for stock item,as PR is generated through MRP for stock item.
    Please share your ideas on this.
    Regards
    Vishu

    Vishu,
    In typical MRP settings you "procure to stock" not "procure to order".
    This means that there is no direct link between the PM/CS orders and any PR/POs created via MRP.
    Subsequently you will not be able to show this data in IWBK.
    However, we are currently designing a customer-specific report similar to IWBK that also counts the number of open POs for a given material on a PM/CS work order. The user can then navigate to ME2M (PO list) or MD04 (stock requirements list) to get further details.
