Display test result before post action

Hi,
I have a test sequence file that is constructed as when test failed, in Post Action, it will jump to a sub-sequence.  And, what I found out is that the result status for that test step in the executation pane was not displayed until after the sub-sequence finished executing (the test steps for sub-sequence was not hided from the operator).  I want to know if there is a way that I can modify the TestStand so that the test step result can be displayed in the execution pane before test step go into Post Action?
Thanks.
Peggy

Hi Peggy,
I wonder if performing an Engine.PostUIMessage using UIMsg_RefreshWindows to force a refresh of the UI windows would do the trick.

  • FI Report showing Discount amount before posting a Document

We are paying Vendor's invoices.  While creating document, we enter Discount base amount and payment terms. Discount amount appears only after document is posted.  Is there any way I can print/display discount amount before posting the document?
    Thank you

Ashok, it's F-43 to create a Vendor Invoice.   After creating, when you display the document through FB03, on screen 302, you will find Disc Base, payment term.  The Disc Amount would be blank, as it is not yet posted.
    Thanks

  • Message before posting new thread

How about displaying a message before posting new threads in abap devlopment forums which tells the members to use search button before posting new threads.
I think this may improve the quality of forums to an extent.
Plz give ur comment on this.

I think most people who answer simple questions do so because they are genuinely trying to help and are perhaps not familiar with the type of user IDs who ask such questions.
But they should heed the warnings (in most cases they realize this themselves before a warning is required). I also know a numer of people who stop visiting SDN when they realize this, and that is a big pity.
Users who carry on and on and on without heeding the warnings are deleted as well. This has happened already and there are two more in the pipeline. But Guestification is a last resort and not a perfect one either. It is only really effective when points are the reason for the misuse.
I am sure that without a points system in its current form we would have less noise, but we would only eliminate the childish points gamers.
What I think we need to work on is further improving the reputation of the SDN forums for quality content.
Eg. when someone posts something which is incorrect or questionable, then question it (politely as possible / appropriate).
That way people who answer will realize that their accounts have a track record for questionable quality, and will think twice before posting some bla-bla-bla or not reading the question carefully => if the question is "What is reports and tables" then when thinking twice, they wont answer at all....
    Cheers,
    Julius
PS: I will start drafting a sticky thread for FAQs and memorable discussions, and then we can make a team effort of contributing to it and the mods can update it as appropriate.

  • I want to write a program in LabView then pass the test results to teststand to check if it pass or fail without displaying the test stand program,

I want to write a program in LabView and create an execute but I want to be able to pass test results to test stand to find it the unit pass ar fail the test then save the data to a database. How would i go about it.

What's confusing is your statement that you want to do this "without display the test stand program". You can minimize the TestStand UI to the task bar but if you don't want TestStand to be running, how can TestStand evaluate the result. Explain a little more please.
In the message body of your post, you just say you want to create a LabVIEW exe and pass the results to TestStand. What I would recomend is that instead of an exe, you create a dll and use TestStand's DLL adapter to call it and return the results. TestStand will evaluate it and do the logging.

  • Display missing test results

    Post Author: sunny07
    CA Forum: General
I would like to display missing test results in the below format.
    Group 1: product group
Test ID 1                      Test ID 2                         Test ID 3                          Test ID 4
    Unit Number                                                                   *
Group 2: product group will have different tests than group 1.
Test ID 5                      Test ID 6
    Unit Number                                    *
    (* test is missing)
Any suggestions how I should set this up in Crystal Reports?

    Post Author: sunny07
    CA Forum: General
User will be prompted for a donation type which they will select from a drop down menu. They will only be able to select one donation type when the report is run. There are only 4 donation types that the users can choose from. There are different test Ids for each donation type. The test IDs for each donation type are not defined in the database. Any suggests how I define the test IDs for each donation type IN CR 11.5? Any suggestion how I display the test IDs as displayed below? Connecting to an Oracle database. 24BA, FINB, HBC, HCV, ABRH, ABS are examples of test IDs.
Example running report for the donation type Bacterial Culture:
Unit Number                              Batch ID                      24BA                   FINB               HBC              HCV
    W03305100919                     20070321HI                                                *                                                *
Example running the report for the donation type ABO Screen:
Unit Number                     Batch ID                           ABRH                       ABS
    W035304100926             20070320HI                          *
    W035304100932              20070320HI
W035304100932 will appear on the report because it has ABO Screen donation type. This unit does not have any missing test results.
*The test ID does not exist for this unit number.
    Thanks!

  • Step post action works only in 'Test UUts' mode

    Hi,
My main sequence file has a list of  steps, all sequence type.  I specify a post action on each one to jump to end if the seq fails and if a flag is set:
    FileGlobals.StopOnFail == True && RunState.SequenceFailed == True
I found out that it only works if I run my test in 'Test UUTs' mode.  If I select 'Run Selected tests using Single Pass', then, it igonre this.
Is this how it supposed to be?
    How can i fix it?

    Rafi,
you are correct that you do not need a previous step; it is sufficient if the step itself fails and sets the RunState.SequenceFailed flag.
On my machine, this test also works as expected so i asume that either your step itself does not set the RunState.SequenceFailed flag or you have another issue in your Run Selected Steps using Single Pass execution....

  • Display of FI document before posting MIGO

    Dear All
Is it possible to see FI document before posting MIGO?
    regards
    Sanjay

    Hi Karnekar,
I think what you should first know is that during MIGO, standard accounting entries during Goods Receipt are:
    Debit Stock Account
         Credit    GR/IR Clearing Account
If it is a reversal, then it would be the opposite
    Debit GR/IR Account
         Credit Stock Account
Now, when you are performing MIGO transaction for receiving, if it is a stock material receiving, then you would already know what are the GL Accounts involved based on the double entries above.
However, if it is consumable items, when you perform MIGO transaction, you will be able to see a new tab called Account Assignment Tab.
Here you will see a particular GL Account.
Use this in the double entries above, which will be
    Debit GL Account
          Credit GR/IR Account
which is the same, we just replaced the stock account.
Standard SAP, you can only view the double entries after posting MIGO.
    1) Display Material Document
    2) Select Doc Info --> Accounting Data
    Hope this helps.

  • KE5Z - Actual Line Item report freezes before displaying the result

    Hi,
We have a situation. We have a Z report in Finance. We have linked KE5Z to this Z report using the Report Painter along with 15 others. When we run the Z report it works fine and displays result. In the displayed result, if we futher drill down for the actual line items for a particular profit center, system freezes. It does not display any result even after a long wait.
We did our analysis and found that the program takes the profit center number range from the least available in the profit center group to highest available in the profit center group and starts checking for every line item in it. This happens when the profit center group has more than 50 profit centers in them. When we run KE5Z tcode individually, it runs fine.
We are not sure how to go about finding a way out of it.
Has anyone faced such issue? Do you know of any OSS note that can help us? or If anyone of you can think of a solution or a way to go about it?
Your help on this is much appriciated.

    Mukund S

  • Post Action depending on variable

    Hi,
my sequence has several subsequences with pass/fail decisions for different substeps. To save testing time my sequence does not perform the following substeps if one substep returned a FAIL as result and hence I set the Post Action On Fail: Goto cleanup.
However there are situations when I want to run all substeps also if one substep before returned a FAIL. I think a good solution would to set the Post Action differently depending on a Variable (Local, Parameter, FileGlobal, StationGlobal). For example: If the Variable is TRUE I would go to Cleanup on fail, if it is FALSE I would go to the next step on fail. I could put this into all my substeps and to change the behaviour only the variable value must be changed.
Is this possible or is there another solution for my problem?
    Thanks
      TT
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Ok, this is more tricky....
The problem you are facing is that the setting for the post action is defined in the step instance. You can modify that during runtime using *any* expression, but if you fail to follow the correct format there, you will produce a run-time error.
Use the Step.TS.FailActTarget to jump as you like. The Step.TS.FailAct has to be "Goto" in order for this to work.
The next keypoint is to find the correct place for that expression. Never tested that, but it should be possible to induce it into the custom condition itself.....
    hope this helps,

  • Ridiculous Download Times on Reader Extended Docs (test results included)

I've been receiving complaints from clients about extreme download times (up to 30 minutes to view a 150MB file on a 20 mbps connection).  So I decided to run some tests to see if this was being caused by a configuration issue, or something easy to resolve.  (Testing results at the bottom of the page)
A little background info:  Our core business utilizes pdf documents that have been enabled for shared review, reader extended, and then displayed within the browser.  So I decided to take the same 50MB test file and create 4 versions of it.  The original, one that was just reader extended, one that was just enabled for shared review, and one that was enabled for shared review AND reader extended.  I then tested in 3 browsers, IE9, Firefox 3.6.17, and chrome 11.0.  I used Reader X in all of the testing.
    What I found out:
IE uses an active-x version of reader to display within the browser.  This is the only browser in testing that used the active-x version and it does support streaming the file so that you can start working on the first page while the rest of the document is still downloading.  BUT when a document is reader extended this feature does not work at all.  You have to download the entire document before you can do anything.  The viewer essentially freezes until it finishes downloading.  Downloading in this psudo streaming method, it downloads MUCH slower.  I'm talking 5 minutes to download a file that only takes 45 seconds if you click "Save Target As".
Firefox and Chrome both use the Plug-In version of the reader to display within the browser.  This version does not support streaming of the file and instead forces you to download the entire file before viewing (even for non reader extended docs).  The good news here is that on a Reader extended document, since it's not trying to stream the document it downloads much faster (more like 90 seconds for the same file that takes 45 seconds to download if you click "Save Target As").
I would tell our clients to use FF or Chrome, but that's in the hands of the IT departments, and most are using IE.  As you can see the Active-X version of the viewer has by far the worst performance by far, and it's completely unbearable on files that are over 100 or 150MB.  It would be nice if someone at Adobe could address this serious performance issue.  I've even tried setting Fast Web View off and Speculative Downloading off, but the Active-X version still tries to display the first page and then stream the rest which results in a 3-5 minute download that should only take 45 seconds.

The only way it can get fixed is if you report it to Adobe. Posting it here may not be sufficient. There is an Acrobat feature request forum here and a bug report form here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform

  • Search before post

I have seen users posting new threads, which are discussed earlier and solutions is available in the forums. This just increases the volume of posts.
Can we have a functionality where, before posting a new thread, a search is performed in the forums and similar threads are displayed? If the user does not find a relevant match he/she processed and finally posts the thread?
I did search if similar thread exists before posting
    Thanks,
    Somar

    Hi,
even if you did a search and didn't find a similar thread, this topic has already been discussed a few times. So may be others are facing the same problem. Searching... but not getting a helpful response and so post a new thread.
    kind regards

    Before Posting:
Is your sound card not working? Do you need advice on what to try to fix it? Then you are at the right place. Before posting your question, there are a few things you will want to check first.
Perhaps your question has already been asked and answered. Thousands of questions have been asked and are all stored here on the forums. Right above that orange navigation bar is the search bar, try searching for what you are experiencing. If there is a thread but it doesn't answer your question, check the date, if it is several weeks since the last reply it would be better to name a new thread then resurrect the dead thread.
Also before posting collect as much information about your card as possible. Get the model number off of the card/device itself and also the inkstamp number (found on an inkstamp or silkscreen on the non-chip side of the card) if you have a sound card. Please note that if you have a card that was preinstalled in your computer by the manufacturer or you bought the card in a brown box or static bag that it is most likely an OEM card. In cases like these it may be best to contact the retailer or the manufacturer (don't forget to check their forums if they have them) for support as the cards can be very different from the retail versions.
    Lost CD, Need Drivers:
Standalone drivers are available for many of our sound cards and devices on our website. The best way to check is to go to Support/Downloads and select your product from the list and click next. Then you select your Operating System from the drop box (keep the other options on their defaults) and click go. The very first section should be the driver listings. Just because a driver says that it is an update, doesn't mean that it isn't a standalone driver. The best way to check is to click on the details button and read the requirements section. If it doesn't say that it requires previous drivers then it is most likely stand alone and is worth installing. These standalone drivers usually include a configuration utility called "CTpanel.exe" that a quick search of your drive after install will locate. You can use this to set the card up.
If your card does not list standalone drivers then you will want to contact support to obtain an install CD.
If your card is OEM, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your system or the retailer you purchased it from for the install CD. There can be major differences between retail and OEM models and the retailer or manufacturer are provided with drivers specific to the card they are distributing.
    Standard Troubleshooting:
If you are going to ask a question, there are a few standard troubleshooting steps that are suggested for almost any problem. You should really check them out before posting a question as it can save you a lot of time waiting on replies.
First off, try a cleansweep and reinstall of your card. Often all that the card needs is a fresh start. The steps for this are found in these Knowledgebase articles:
Uninstalling Sound Blaster Drivers and Applications(Windows Vista)
    Uninstalling Creative Disc Detector
    Uninstalling Sound Blaster PCI Cards
Uninstalling PCMCIA Sound Blaster Devices in Windows XP
Uninstalling ExpressCard Sound Blaster Devices in Windows XP
If that doesn't work, not all is lost. There are many standard troubleshooting steps that are used for almost all problems. Fortunately we have a separate Kbase article that covers these steps. It even has suggestions for specific problems. Here is that link:

Popping Clicking, Hissing, and Other Sound anomalies:
Perhaps your question is about a popping, clicking, or hissing sound that your card seems to be generating. If so, then this article is for you. The sound optimization article:

    If Nothing Above Works:
One last thing to try would be to clean boot your version of Windows. Perhaps an application is getting in the way of the card working correctly. Try it and see if the card works when clean booting into Windows. If so then something that is starting up is interfering with the card.

Boston Acoustic Digital Speakers or Prebuilt System With a Digital Live! Card
Some name brand systems shipped with a special Live! Value card that was made to work with digital speakers. If you system shipped with a Live! Value and you have digital speakers you will need to use drivers provided by your system manufacturer. If you use the drivers on the Creative website your card will no longer work with your digital speakers.
If you have a set of Boston Acoustic digital speakers that came with your system and they are not working with your sound card, make sure you have it connected to the digital out on the card. Also make sure that the digital out is enabled.
    If None of this helps:
If none of this helps, then it is probably time to go ahead and post your question. Make sure to let everyone know what you have already tried from this article, otherwise you may get responses suggesting you try them again.
    Above all else, don't panic.

"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies - 'God [darn] it, you've got to be kind."

There's a small discussion on the Asus forums about this issue here:
    http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?id=20052602425373&board_id=&model=A8V&pa ge=&SLanguage=en-us
I'm extremely certain this has nothing to do with Creative. I recently tried a Turtle Beach Riviera 5. sound card in my Asus A8V board with the same poor result. Onboard sound works fine as long as you remove the PCI card. Oddly, the four sound cards I've tried (three by Creative) work fine on the same MB using Windows 98. Only Windows XP has this issue, but since it works fine if you restart/wake up from standby/or hit F0 after entering the BIOS, it's obviously directly related to the BIOS.
Since this problem has gone on for so long with no acknowledgment from Asus, I'm not very hopeful this will ever get fixed. I've considered trying an M-Audio Revolution 5. and see if that works, but I know it's a long shot. I'm also not sure if I want to risk close to $00 on a sound card that I figure has a 0% chance of working.
(If ANYONE out there in the world has a sound card that works with games on an Asus A8V - please, please, pretty please post in this forum so we can all go out and get it!)
It absolutely amazes me that a problem this significant slipped by Asus during their supposed "4,000 dedicated man hours" of testing!
