Hi, I am experiencing a similar issues
We just migrated multiple objects (WEBI, SWF, Crystalu2026) from XIR2 to BOE 3.1
And for some reason some people can open and view SWFu2019s in 3.1 and other people can not.
They just get a blank screen.
Weu2019ve checked all the Flash player installs and they all match on the different laptops.
Everyone could open and view these Xcelsius SWFu2019s in XIR2 but not all can in BOE 3.1
Also I should note that the people who have troble viewing thru their own laptop/pc have no trouble viewing the swf when the remote into the BO server and run the xcelsius swf.
Any ideas??

  • Display a .swf file in the Gallery example

    Is it possible to display a .swf file instead of a .jpeg in
    the Gallery example? Any help would be appreciated.

    You "CAN" do it, but it would probably be kind of clunky. A
    detailed region rewrites the code and in theory you should be able
    to write in a new SWF. I don't mean, write in a new "location" but
    re-write out the entire tag.
    Hope this helps.

  • Call and display Xcelsius SWF file from an SAP Transaction

    Hello Experts ,
                          Could you please suggest if it is possible to Call and display Xcelsius SWF file
    from an SAP Transaction and if Yes how can this be achieved.
    Regards ,
    Jerin.

    Jerin,
    It is possible to embed a Xcelsius model into an SAP WebTemplate (Anil promised to write a blog about this very soon). After that you can include the WebTemplate in the GUI menu, Role menu or Portal.

  • Spreadsheet component - bottom grid line not displaying in swf file

    Hi,
    I'm having an issue with the spreadsheet component. I'm using the "Ignore blank cells in Values" option on the behavior tab. This works fine. The problem I'm having is the bottom grid line in the spreadsheet table is not displaying in the swf file. The bottom grid line displays correctly in Preview mode....but is not displaying in the swf file. Anyone have any ideas on why?
    Thanks

    I'm not sure if I've interpreted your response correctly.  Our entire dashboard app is built on the swf files being called from the URL buttons.  We are not using HTML files.  Are you saying that if I do a file export to HTML that the swf file generated from this will display the bottom grid lines?
    I noticed that the spreadsheet component grid lines display correctly in the swf when not checking the ignore blank cells option in the behavior tab.
    So what would be our options here.....either uncheck the display grid lines for the spreadsheet component to not display the grid lines at all, or do not use the ignore blank cells option in the behavior tab to display a fixed number of rows each time?
    Thanks for the response, Matt.

  • Quiz results not displaying in swf file

    I am creating an interactive cd which basically runs a blank
    projector which then loads in various swf files from fscommand
    folder as and when required.
    Part of the CD is a quiz - created using one of the standard
    flash templates. When this is loaded into the main projector as a
    swf file it runs perfectly until it gets to the "results page" - at
    this point it returns the blank templates e.g Answered = 0.
    If you export the quiz as a projector file it runs fine and
    gives the results as expected too.
    Is there a way to make it run properly as a swf?

    Hey Arunbe,
    To be honest I'm pretty new to the Action Script side of
    things - I'm not actually very sure where and how I check that the
    variables are declared properly?!
    I would really appreciate any pointers you could give me in
    this area!!
    I have attached some code from the quiz - it might not be the
    right thing though!
    Thanks for any help you can offer!!!

  • How to load an AS3 swf file into a AS2 swf file?

    Hi,
    i am trying to display a swf file using AS3 in a flash site which uses AS2. I know that loading the swf file in the normal way, into a dummy movieclip (loadMovie) or into a new level (loadMovieNum), doesn't work. The AS2 based flash site doesn't understand the new file. Is there another way to get around this problem?

  • Embedding a SWF file with an iFrame

    I wanted to embed an assessment in to one of my PDFs. I know I can't do it directly so I tried to create a small little Flex app that shows an iFrame (see here for the example). I then tried to insert this (as a SWF) in to my PDF file. I have a problem where when selected in the PDF it displays the SWF file, but not the linked URLs for the iFrames. Any ideas? how I might be able to get around this. Here is an example of what I was working on.
    Any help would be much appreciated.

    hat do you mean with embedding a SWF file into another?
    you can embedd a SWF file in a HTML file. you can load a SWF
    file in another SWF file.
    but to embedd a SWF into another is not possible.

  • Append swf file - Spry.Utils.updateContent - not work

    I don't understand this
    When I try to add swf file to Spry Tabbed Panels content -
    everything is OK. Now - in tabbed panels content I want to insert
    data from external html files. In this external file I have swf
    file and text, and images. When I preview this html external file
    in browser - all data are displayed correctly. When I try append
    this file into tabbed panels content :
    <a href="#" onclick="Spry.Utils.updateContent('apDiv1',
    'products/products1.htm'); return false;">Append file</a>
    only swf file in a new window are display.
    If I delete swf content from external html file - everything
    is ok. But if in external append file is a swf content - IE display
    only swf file.
    Is there posible to append html file with swf file in this
    method in any way?

    Hi Elaine,
    The implementation of AC_FL_RunContent() suggests that it was
    only meant to be run *BEFORE* the page finishes loading. Because
    Spry data sets and regions load and redraw asynchronously, usually
    *after* the page finishes loading, they are not compatible. As
    we've mentioned above, if Spry triggers the call to
    AC_FL_RunContent(), it will most likely be *after* the onload event
    has fired, and since AC_FL_RunContent() uses document.write() it
    will result in the entire page being overwritten by the
    <object>/<embed> tag that it writes out.
    That all said, libraries like SWFObject were designed to be
    called even after the onload event fires, at least from what I can
    tell from their samples. If you need to extract data from a data
    set to create your SWFObject, you can simply attach an observer to
    your data set that will tell the swfobject to do what it is you
    want it to do. For example:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var dsProducts = new Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("products.xml",
    "/products/product");
    // Register an observer on dsProducts so that any time it
    changes data or the current
    // row changes, it tells the swfobject what to do:
    dsProducts.addObserver(function(notificationType, notifier,
    data)
    if (notificationType != "onDataChanged" || notificationType
    != "onCurrentRowChanged")
    return;
    // Do something with the swfobject here:
    var curRow = dsProducts.getCurrentRow();
    // The following embedSWF call is only an example of how to
    get the "productURL" column
    // value for the current row and pass it to the swfobject.
    The rest of the args, are left as names to
    // show you what you should be passing.
    swfobject.embedSWF(curRow.productURL, replaceElemIdStr,
    widthStr, heightStr, swfVersionStr, xiSwfUrlStr, flashvarsObj,
    parObj, attObj);
    </script>

  • .swf file as an iView

    Dear SDN Community,
      I have .swf file(demo recording) which was required to put it in the Portal as an iView. For this I have created a folder named Demo in Public Folders in "KM Content" and copied the .swf file. Now, I got the URL for the doucment I have copied in the demo folder and created a URL iView with the URL being /irj/portal/..../../demo.swf.
       This works fine in Firefox but when I tried to open this iView in IE it opens with the URL http://<<server>>:<<port>>/irj/portalapps/com.sap.portal.navigation.toplevel/html/child.html and closes in 15 sec. Can you please advice me here how I can display the .swf file as an iView in IE.
    Thanks!
    Vivek.

    Hi,
    As already said use KM Doc IView, also check these threads:
    https://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=462400
    Normally swf files can also be embedded into HTML files for better control.

    Content on this page requires a newer version of Adobe Flash Player.
    But i have installed that flash player... And when i change the path to file that is actualy stored in folder on the server, all plays nicely?
    Is this the way to solve this problem? I want to display dinamicaly .swf files into my web page. Please help. Thank you.

  • Flash CS5.5, SWF file doesn't load TLF text.

    Hiya,
    I just downloaded the trial version of Flash 5.5. I was trying to a tutorial from  Adobe Classroom in a Book: Flash Professional CS5. I was trying to do lesson 7 which is all about TLF text.
    In the tutorial, you insert text that is TLF text. Most of the text doesn't do anything (it's Read-Only). But there is one area that is supposed to be a Mortgage Calcualtor and functions with ActionScript.
    I inserted the ActionScript that makes the Mortgage Calculator text do the proper math. My problem happens when I try to test the movie: the SWF file doesn't display any of the TLF text, and the Output panel gives me the following:
    ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable TLFTextField is not defined.
    ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable TCMText is not defined.
    I am confused because there aren't any variables with those names in any of the files of the tutorial, or in the ActionScript I entered. Where is Flash getting those variable names from? O_o
    I even turned the text back into Classic text to see if that helped, but I still get the error. Could this be a glitch with Flash 5.5?
    Thanks for your time.
    Tara

    That file has all the menu items in it.
    A crossdomain file is use as a security measure. Perhaps I see it because I use a webpage on my own server to display your SWF file. Check to see if that's the case with you.
    But I gave it another try.
    I downloaded the menu.swf and the xml file and stored them in a folder. I use a custom webpage and stored that in the same folder.
    Instead of the full URL is simply use the filename.
    <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11CF-96B8-444553540000" id="obj1"
    codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/ flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0" border="0"
    width="870" height="800">
    <param name="movie" value="menu.swf">
    <param name="quality" value="High">
    <embed src="menu.swf"
    pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" name="obj1"
    width="870" height="150"></object>
    That works.
    When I paste the <object> code in the HTML Snippet and use relative URLs to the menu in the folder mentioned above, I noticed that the XMLHorizontalMenu.xml is expected to be in the Pagename_files folder. That folder belongs to the iWeb pages it is embedded in. When I put the xml file there, the menu works.
    You have to check the design of the menu.swf file.
    Otherwise, store all files in a separate folder and use a <iframe> to embed it.

  • Creating a transparent background with a SWF file for Export to Air

    I have been trying to place a SWF with a transparent background into an image component and use as a background for a widget. When I place the swf (just a simple single frame swf file) and output with any other method the background works perfectly. If I output to air then the background is a white rectangle with only a progress bar the stays at 0%. I have tried to not embed it but I get a broken link icon in the same rectangle.
    What am I missing? Should the swf file have some special setting that I am missing?
    I am using Xcelsisus 2008 with SP1 and FP1.
    Thank you for any assistance.
    Heath

    While there is no means to be sure about the method in which SAP/BO creates their components. My assumption is that the component uses the WindowedApplication or an HTMLLoader object(more likely) to display each SWF file.
    If this is the case then it is a known limitation in Adobe Air that we may be able to overcome by trying out the methods described in the following link:   [Air Transparency Help|http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AIR/1.5/devappshtml/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d118666ade46-7e09.html#WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d118676a452d-7fe5]
    Or try this link for more detail on [HTMLLoader display options within Air|http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AIR/1.5/devappshtml/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d118666ade46-7e79.html#WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d118676a3e36-7ff9]
    Let me know if this works! Now I'm curious...

  • Creating a flash gallery for swf files

    is there a template out there for a flash gallery to display other swf files?
    Like an image gallery, but instead of images, they are swf files (some could be interactive as well).
    Thanks !

    You may have to do your own searching for such a template, but you should be able to convert an image version into an swf version without too much modification.  If you are loading the files dynamically the same commands would be used.  You may just need to mask the area for displaying the swf's since their stages will not define their boundariies when they are loaded into another swf.

  • Is there any way to display a pdf inside of a swf file?

    Are there any software that will convert Word documents or pdf into swf files that ca be displayed inside of a Flash movie. Currently, I am using FlashPaper but the software is not supported anymore by Adobe. I am creating eLearning courses and having a pdf open inside of a course without opening multiple makes for a better learning experience. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
