Dispute or wait for items to fall off? Bank of America goodwill letter denied

I plan to apply for a mortgage pre-approval in 02/2016 and want to remove all negative information from my credit reports before doing so.  The only thing standing between me and a clean credit report is Bank of America and a CC i had with them. Late payments are 30 days late Nov, 60 days late Dec 2008, 30 days late April 2009, 60 days late May 2009, and 90 days late June 2009 and  30 days late January 2011. I have sent 2 goodwill letters to their general address from the credit report and one email to the CEO and they shut me down each time by saying that the information is being reported accurately.  I believe that they are reporting inaccurate information and I think I would be able to have this removed from my report, but is it worth it at this time? Its been 6 years since 5 of the 6 late payments occurred and was wondering if removing the late payments would boost my score or hurt my score due to losing the age of the account, which was opened in 2005. My current AAoA is 4 years 4 months. The inaccurate information shows that the account was closed and opened multiple times, and the last reported date was 2/2015 despite my last payment being made in 2/2014 to pay off the old money owed on the card. Also, its showing a $25 monthly payment. Any suggestions?

    Reset your iPad.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
I recently upgraded to to the iOS 5 on my iMac and iPad
You don't need to manually sync using iOS 5.

  • When I connect my iPhone 5 (iOS 7.0.4) to iTunes it gets stuck when syncing on "waiting for items to copy"

    My iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.4 gets stuck on "waiting for items to copy" when syncing to my iTunes (version 11.1.4). I've tried;
    quiting and restarting iTunes,
    updating iTunes,
    restarting my computer,
    restarting my iPhone,
turning off iCloud on my iPhone,
restoring my iPhone from a previous back-up,
disabling "automatically sync when this iPhone is connected" and
just leaving it alone for three hours to see if it would finish syncing
But none of these things have worked... I'm not sure what else to try. My iPhone suffered an error about three days ago when trying to update to the new iOS update and went into recovery mode. I had to restore from an old back-up and that is when my troubles began. However, I was previously (before the crash) having an issue where whenever I connected my iphone to my computer it would delete all my playlists. I'm not sure if any of that is relevant.

iPad syncing stays on step 5 of 5 “waiting for items to copy” but does not copy anything...  should I restore the iPad?

Hey, I was having the same problem,, i just got mine to work. Take off everything but your apps (meaning take off pictures, music, ringtones, movies, tv shows, etc just leave on the apps) Then go up to the top and go to Store and turn off Genius. Restore your iPhone (It'll ask you to back up, click yes.) Restore from back up, Let your apps come back then when those are done add each category one by one. (i.e. click Photos -> Sync Photos and let them finish, then click something else like music) Hope this helps!

  • How do you know when items will fall off your credit reports?

Can anyone tell me how you know what date items will fall off your credit report? Thanks

Each individual type of adverse information has its own exclusion date.  They are all set forth in FCRA 605(a). DOFD applies only to a collection or charge-off, which have an exclusion date of no later than 7 years plus 180 days from the DOFD.Monthly account delinquencies are excluded no later than 7 years from their individual dates of occurence.BKs are exluded at 7 or 10 years, depending upon their type.Tax liens become excluded no later than 7 years from date paid.Judgments become excluded on the later of 7 years from date entered, or until the expiration of the statute of limitations on enforceability of the judgment. The credit report exclusion periods are imposed on the CRAs, and set forth the date after which they can no longer include that adverse item in credit reportes they issue. The CRAs are thus required to monitor the relevant date for each type of adverse item.  The consumer should no have to request exclusion or remind the CRA of the exclusion date, but it is possible that they could miss a date, so the consumer should monitor.

  • IOS 8.1 waiting for item to copy with iPhone 6

Anyone has the same issue while syncing iPhone 6 with iTunes? Mine won't go pass the last task which is waiting for item to copy. I waited for an hour and it was the same. I'm using iTunes 12.0.1.26 with OS  X Yosemite.

Since I attempted to sync this morning, I did not have a chance to troubleshoot more before work.
I will try the following later:
    1) Turn off iDevice, restart PC, re-sync
    2) Turn off iDevice, uninstall iTunes, restart PC, re-sync
    3) Turn off iDevice, uninstall iTunes, restart PC, backup to iOS 5.0.1 & re-sync
    4) Return iPhone to Sprint for another one.

  • Potential fix for "Waiting for items to copy" & "Waiting for changes to be applied" issue

Ever since I installed iOS7 on my 5th gen iPod Touch I've been unable to complete a sync without getting stuck for upwards of an hour on the "Waiting for items to copy" or "Waiting for changes to be applied" steps.  However, today I finally pieced together the most useful bits of info from around these forums in conjunction with what my iTunes was doing into a potential two-step fix.
The first sync I did took about 45 minutes (and I wasn't even adding any music or apps; I just wanted to update some album info that iTunes messed up).  However, during the lengthy "Waiting for items to copy" step, I happened to glance up just in time to see that iTunes was trying to copy literally thousands of Genius items that entire time.  So all I did was go to Store > Turn Off Genius, and then--for added measure--Reset Sync History from Edit > Preferences > Devices tab.  Hit Sync again, and for the first time since updating to iOS7 did it take less than a couple of minutes!  Now every sync only takes a matter of seconds, as it should.  Hope that helps at least some of you out there.
By the way, this was on a PC running Windows 7, iTunes 11.1.4.62, and iOS 7.0.4 on a 5th gen iPod Touch.

  • Syncing iphone and saying waiting for items to copy

Did all updates to macbook, iphone and ipad.  ipad syncs fine with computer and itunes, iphone goes thru all steps and is at Step 8 of 8, Syncing genius data with "iphone", Waiting for items to copy.
However, nothing happens at this point.  let this step run for 4 hours and nothing further.  Have to manually cancel sync.  Is anyone else having this issue and know of a way to fix?
    Thanks

Well at least I am glad I am not the only person with this issue. I do hope that the Apple tech people read the discussion boards. Just to be clear that my iPhone does synch using iTunes but I get the error on step 7 with: "synching Genius Data to iPhone and waiting for items to copy". If I manually end the synching I get an error message that my phone is still synching do I still want to eject. When I do eject the phone however, the phone and iTunes are indeed synched. It is a bit annoying but I can at least I am able to synch my phone.

  • I give up! - waiting for items to copy

I know a lot has been said on the subject and I've said a few things myself.  However, I've about reached my breaking point and would love it if someone could point me the way to someone at Apple to talk to.
I'm referring to syncing and the dreaded message generally at the end of the sync, "waiting for items to copy."  Sometimes the message will end after a long time (an hour) and all will seemingly be ok, and sometimes it will continue indefinitely.  I've tried virtually every suggestion here and from apple senior support.  I have had the same problem for well over a year with 2 iPads and 2 iPhones.  I've had syncing problems seemingly forever, back to 3 years ago when I had a MacBook Pro and after with my present computer, an iMac.  However, the problem was not the same previously, i.e., waiting for items to sync., in the past year or so.   It seems to be happening with more regularity now, like almost every time I want to completely change songs on my devices.
If I interrupt the "waiting for items to copy," I often get a huge amount of "other" indicated in the bar graph in iTunes showing the amount of audio, apps, etc.
I have a large library, almost 2TB and 80k songs.  I don't know if that's the problem.  I also have a 124gb iPad and 2 64gb iPhones.  I rotate the songs every few weeks... I have about 15 playlists set up randomly so I can just switch playlists.  As a result, I can rule out that corrupt songs are causing the problem unless there are a lot of corrupt songs.
Without exaggeration, I must have talked to 10 senior apple technicians.  I'm covered by Apple Care on all but one of my 3 devices.  It's always a very lengthy conversation and doing mostly the same things over and over with call backs necessary.  And the problem doesn't get resolved.
The only way I can seem to resolve the issue is by doing a complete erase on the device and syncing my songs 1 playlist at a time.  It's an incredibly lengthy process, especially when I try to sync normally at first and that fails - there went up to a few hours' time.
However, I'm not so sure about this method any longer.  I sync'd my iPad yesterday, which took an entire day or about 15 hours.  After completely erasing everything and restoring, I sync'd 1 playlist at a time as previously mentioned.  I got the "waiting" message after each sync, but it eventually went away and all seemed fine.  That is, until I checked my iPad.  I should have had 22,000 songs (according to iTunes and a manual count of songs taking the totals from my playlists) but the iPad indicated only 12,000.
If it is not an inherent problem with every version of iTunes and/or every OS in the last few years, the only other thing I can think of is that's my computer.  I am flinging my hands up in the air at this point and begging for a phone number of someone to talk to who can help.  Most of the senior iTunes reps claim they are unaware of the problem, which is baffling to me.

(In response to Mike Stitzer's post):
I'm a 30-year+ PC user (DOS then Windows) with a systems programming and admin background in Unix.  Apple is still a bit foreign to me, although not out of the realm of understanding.  The problems Apple now faces deal with (1) its popularity, which now makes it susceptible to the same kind of hacking-attacks that Windows has endured forever (which has nothing to do with these problems, granted); (2) complexity of the technology and (3) inexperience and/or lack of knowledge plus limited training of its customer & tech support staff (both of these being the central issues of this syncing problem).
You make a good point: these companies are now using "us" as their beta-testers. They don't thoroughly vet their products before releasing them into the market, and then leave it up to the users to find problems/bugs, and maybe even figure out how to fix them.  I don't know, honestly, but that's how it seems.  Maybe they don't care.  Maybe they know their client-base will remain steady and reliable because people still want to have iPads and iPhones and iPods.  And like all tech companies, Apple is always moving on to the next best thing, the newest upgrade features which lure their client-base to buy again, and attract new buyers.  Like any other company, their bottom line is what matters, and fixing problems, such as this sync one, may not be cost-effective enough to rise to the level of fixing, simply because it doesn't appear to be widespread enough, although who knows.  I know people who have iphones who NEVER connect them to their laptops for syncing, who buy music from iTunes from their iPhone and that's their music library.  That's the extent of their 'use.'  There are a lot of Apple customers, maybe a majority of users, who have no clue about ninety-percent of what is discussed in these forums.
In any event, for some reason, after I updated to the latest iTunes, I was able to sync my three "i" devices, iPhone--which was what I was having the trouble with; then the iPad and just the other day, my iPod Classic; all synced without problem.  Last Sunday I did, momentarily, have the "waiting to apply changes" stick while trying to sync some newly made ring tones to my iPhone, so I bailed out of the process, rebooted my (Windows 7) laptop, and tried again, and it took.  Don't ask me why.  I have no idea.
Regarding Windows... I have to say that since Microsoft's XP, I haven't had many problems with the system.  I had seriously considered getting a Mac the next time I get a new laptop, and just going "all Apple" but I'm definitely reconsidering that now.  With all the new products coming on the market now, I don't want to put all my cookies into one jar... you know?  Things change, that's a guarantee.

  • ITunes 10.5 and IOS 5 sync hang at "Waiting for items to copy", possible fix

After seeing many other threads, I am hesistant to start my own. However, I thought it worthwhile to share how I fixed this problem on my iPad 1.
SYMPTOM: iTunes sync doesn't complete, with the message "Waiting for items to copy" displayed. There are no error messages, and it appears that all content is valid and synced. It is possible to cancel the sync from the iPad (Settings -> General -> iTunes Wi-Fi Sync) or by exiting iTunes.
RESOLUTION: Select the iPad in iTunes, and in each category (Info, Apps, Music, Movies, TV Shows, Podcasts, iTunes U, Books, Photos) make one modification, just so the Apply button appears. Click Apply. The sync will restart, even if it's already stuck at "Waiting for items to copy".
On my iPad, I noted that if I de-selected the option to sync Books, one book keep re-checking itself after I clicked Apply: The iPad User Guide for iOS 5. I had downloaded this one via the iBooks app in the iPad. I right-clicked the iPad and picked "Transfer Purchases", but it appeared to do very little.
From the iTunes Library under Books, I deleted the local copy of the iPad User Guide for iOS 5, then synced again.
It worked! Briefly, there were extra messages about transferring the iOS 5 user guide again, but the Books category now worked correctly.
SO... it appears that the bug may be related to having items on the device which didn't get transferred fully during the "Transferring purchases" part of the sync.
SUMMARY: If you purchased some items then notice that sync doesn't work right, try deleting the local iTunes copies of the recent purchases and sync again.
    Good luck!

    Hi TD,
You solved my problem awhile ago and I didn't post a thank here.  So thank you!  I was having a problem with a PDF that kept rechecking itself.  It was not the User guide.  Anyway, I posted your solution on another discussion board and it has solved the issue for several people. • HT201401 while syncing - been stuck on step 5 of 5 'waiting for items to copy' for an hour - help?

while syncing - have been stuck on step 5 of 5 'waiting for items to copy' for an hour...........i'm suspecting there is a problem
last night i attempted to upgrade to the most recent IOS - after that was done, i attempted to sync my phone
got a message that said that 'Itunes has detected a Iphone in recovery mode. You must restore this Iphone before it can be used with Itunes'
I was unfamiliar with 'restoring' so i just unplugged my phone - which was then stuck....
i went to my local Apple store this a.m. and was told to go home and restore my phone - which i did and then it asked if i wanted to restore it again with my backed-up info - which i am currently attempting to do (see first line for current problem)
    p.s.  i started this process as 12:30 p.m.........................

There is no fix. There are a variety of partial fixes that sometimes work for some people, but there's nothing that has consistently solved the issue. Just do a google search, you'll see thousands of forum posts about it.
It's a bug in iTunes, and we're all hosed until Apple fixes it. Which they have shown zero desire to do (I've reported the bug to them through multiple channels multiple times, and they simply do not care).

I updated my ipod touch, then a while later it said waiting for update then shut off. then started turning on and off, what do i do ?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Sync of iPad (1) to iTunes after iOS5 upgrade, getting "waiting for items to copy" message that hangs sync, lasts forever

I've seen this same problem in other posts, but the solutions seems suspect to me. People are seeing this on both Mac and Windows syncs. The "data" that is being sync'd seems to change for each person, and in fact is different each time I try. Sometimes it is "data" that is being sync'd, sometimes it is "Genius Data", sometimes something else. The common problem across platforms is that somewhere in the iPad sync process it gets "stuck" with the message "Waiting for items to copy". In my case, I ran this overnight -- for over 12 hours -- and the problem did not resolve.
Here is my situation: iPad1, just upgraded to iOS5. MacBook Pro just upgraded to 10.7.2. itunes 10.5. When I connect the iPad, iTunes does a synchronization automatically and seems to succeed up to the last step, in my case 8 of 8. Then, it "hangs" during synchronization. Sometimes it says it is Syncing Genius Data, sometimes it says something different. But, it always says "Waiting for items to copy" and then sits forever.
To terminate this I just eject the iPad and things seem to be working okay, but it is troublesome that the sync does not complete normally.

  • I have OS 6.1.3 and I am unable to sync my IPad 2 fully. It says 'waiting for items to copy'. What do I do?

I have an IPad 2, fully updated to OS 6.1.3. I cannot sync from my computer it keeps saying waiting for items to copy. What do I need to do?

How long has it been like this? Depending on how much new content you downloaded from the last time that you synced, it can take a while - but a while would be like 10 minutes or so - unless it has been weeks since you last synced.
This same thing has happened to me on a few ocassions and I just cancel the sync, quit iTunes, restart my MacBook Pro and try again. I cancel the sync using the button at the top of the progress bar in the iTunes window.
