Distributing forms and Receiving Responses

If I send my clients a PDF form how do I get the responses back to me? In what form will the response be?

That will depend on which Adobe workflow you choose to use.  With PDF forms that are distributed by FormsCentral the responses are submitted to the FormsCentral servers (only the form data is submitted, not the pdf file).  If you use Adobe Acrobat to distribute PDF forms, when the user clicks submit the entire PDF file can be emailed back to you or you can set it up to submit the data only to our servers.

    Hello. I have adobe forms and received the alert that it will be ending in July. Then I received an email about Adobe Acrobat XI Pro which can create forms. I signed up for the free trial and when I began to make a new form it brings me back to Adobe Forms. My question is, when Adobe Forms ends on July 28th will Adobe Acrobat XI Pro be able to create forms or will it now? and if not, then why is adobe advertising for it still?

    What you're calling "Adobe Forms" is really Adobe FormsCentral. The FormsCentral service is indeed going away soon, but you can always create PDF forms (AcroForms) with Acrobat. Acrobat also comes with a desktop version of the FormsCentral desiger, which can be used to create simple PDF forms that can be used apart from the FormsCentral service. So you'll no longer be able to create and host web forms with the FormsCentral service or use PDF forms with the FormsCentral service. You will be able to create standalone PDF forms with Acrobat and simple PDF forms with the FormsCentral desktop app.

  • With Adobe FormsCentral in Creative Teams subscription, do I need to add an Acrobat Pro subscription to get unlimited forms and realtime responses?

    We have a number of Creative Cloud for Teams seats but need to FormsCentral unlimited forms and realtime response rate.
    The site makes you upgrade to Acrobat Pro subscription to get that, which is included in Creative Cloud.  I did order it, but am puzzled at whether or not that was a mistake.
    Anyone has an idea about this?

    Hi GrattanGuru,
    You have creative cloud subscription as you have mentioned. Under Adobe Reader to convert PDF to other formats Adobe offers online service called Acrobat.com services: https://www.acrobat.com/en_us.html
    That would be the reason support person might have told you on call, that you have to pay for that service.
    Under creative cloud you are getting Adobe applications. However under Acrobat.com you are getting online services which are providing Acrobat functions online.

  • Sending Bids from SRM to suppliers and receiving responses

    Hi Experts,
    Help me with a suggestion for sending Bids from SRM to suppliers and receiving responses - preferably through email adapter.
    Regards,

    Sorry for the delay,
    I have worked in a similar integration with SRM - XI, but the only difference is that we used Proxy -- HTTPS for Purchase Order Request.
    In your case it would be:
    1. Create custom IDOC and Message type.
    2. Find the triggering process from the SRM side, trigger the IDOC from SRM.
    3. Generate the partner profile and ALE config.
    4. Import the custom IDOC in XI.
    5. Use a map in XI to convert the IDOC data to customer format.
    6. Use  HTTP adapter to connect.
    7. In the HTTP adapter you can use url method or the RFC destination to do the connectivity. ( I would recommend using the RFC destination to do it.)
    8. You should be receiving an acknowledgment from the customer when the document is posted at their end.
    9. The response is either 200 for successful transmission. It would be 400 or 500  for errors.
    10. Use the response message to do a message map with the mail adapter.
    11. Generate the content of the mail adapter using the message map.
    12. In the message map ideally you should use Value mapping to generate the   TO and FROM data. (This enables you to change the receipients while in development and production without changing the message mappinng program.)
    13. Use mail package in the Mail adapter to send the mail content to the business users.
    Hope this helps.

  • How can I produce a report of the people asked to complete a form and their response?

    How can I produce a report of the people asked to complete a form and their response?

    Thanks. I cover four different sites. We are using the same questions for the four sites. Each site has a different client base (with different users). So I am inviting persons to complete the form in an ad-hoc basis following training sessions (so far I have trained 10 out of 57). The responses will be viewed by two or three Managers. The problem is that it is difficult to see who has started filling out the form, who has not even looked at it, and those who have completed it. So for example at the moment I have a zero response to my requests to complete the form, although some people may be working on the form?

  • Creating, distributing and receiving responses on a "fillable" PDF form

    Hello,
         I apologize if this is addressed somewhere else, but I could not find a complete match to my question.  I am trying to create a form in Acrobat X which can be posted to a website, downloaded by up to 2000 people, filled out and emailed back to me.  I acknowledge there may be a better way to do that via some kind of direct web interface, but I'm not able to do that.  I would like to "collect responses" rather than printing each form and hand-entering the responses (the current method).  People filling out the form will probably have some variation of Reader.  I have tried the "distribute form," then posted it to an internal shared drive to test it, but no one has been able to edit the form except by the Typewriter tool.  (Strangely, I can actually fill out the form myself and collect my responses.)  Can anyone give any advice on what I'm missing?  Thank you very much in advance.
    Grant

    Thank you both very much for that information.  I was concerned about the number of responses, but I was also told by the Adobe helpdesk that the limit of 500 instances would not be an issue because I'm literally receiving the form via email and collecting data into the response file.  I should have mentioned before that I have extended the features to allow editing by Reader users.
         I am afraid I do not understand how your (George's) suggestion to "just submit the form data."  The form will be on a website, so an applicant will open and probably download the file to their own computer and fill it out (can't save the form data).  Then if they click the Submit Form button, am I correct in thinking it will send the form data (just the data) to whatever email address is associated with the file?  That would be great, if that's how that works.  I don't remember, so maybe the preference of "receive just FDF data" or "receive entire form" is an option when I created or distributed the form.  If that's the case, then once it's filled out and submitted, what do I do to get it into the response file?  Bill, I'm not sure I can get around your question of whether email submission will be a problem.  We will receive on Outlook, people submitting could be on anything.  We may just have to deal with that as it happens.  Hand-entering data for a fraction of the people is an acceptable cost, if the majority could be electronic.
    Thanks again for the help, maybe I can get this to work.

  • NEW! Import Fillable PDF Form and Collect Responses

    FormsCentral now allows you to import an existing fillable PDF form and use the FormsCentral service to collect and analyze the submitted data. You no longer have to recreate your existing PDF forms within the service in order to take advantage of FormsCentral’s data collection/analysis capabilities.
    You can also use popular tools like Adobe Acrobat X Pro or Adobe InDesign to create PDF forms that work with FormsCentral.
    To import a PDF form go to the “My Forms” tab, click the More button on the toolbar and select “Import PDF Form.” Note: FormsCentral does not support PDF forms created using the LiveCycle Designer (XML-based forms).
    Once imported the normal Design tab is replaced with an “Imported Form” tab that allows you to place a Submit button on the PDF form. You can place it on the top left or right of the first page, or place it on the bottom left or right of the last page. A thumbnail shows where the button will appear.
    Click to view larger image
    The Options tab shows options that are available for PDF forms (Note: PDF Forms do not support Redirect URLs or Payments so these are not shown)
    Click to view larger image
    The Distribute tab allows you to open the form and download the submit-enabled PDF file for distribution. The PDF file can be filled out, saved and submitted using the free Adobe Reader.
    Click to view larger image
    The Response and Summary Report tabs will show the data submitted from the PDF form. They function as they do for a normal form file that you created from scratch or template.
    This FAQ describes what types of PDF forms can/cannot be imported and what functionality is limited within the PDF once imported:

    I followed this process to import my PDF form.  The link I have on my web page is displaying an error from FormsCentral.  The link works but the web page is confusing to customers.  The message is:
    An error has occurred.
    The form does not exist. Please re-enter the web address as the link may be misspelled.
    When I saved the submission-enabled PDF, I could only save it to my computer.  I then had to upload it to the web site server and created a link on my web page to point to that URL.
    How can I get rid of the Adobe FormsCentral message on the web page?

  • Difference between Receipts form and Receiving Transactions form

    Hi People,
    I have a doubt about two dorms. Firts I have created an Inter-Oranization Transfer generating the Shimpment num 1111.
    Then using Inventory Responsibility, I navigate to Transactions -> Receiving -> Receipts and find it withou any issue.
    But when I navigate to Transactions -> Receiving -> Receiving Transactiond, I am not able to find it. Why?
    Which is the difference between thos forms? Why I can see the transaction in one form but not in another?
    Thanks,
    Facundo.

    hi
    receiving can be configured to be a two-step process: first receive it in receving bay (using receipts form) and then deliverying to some storage area within warehouse (using receiving transaction form).
    on shipping network form, we can specify if we want to do receiving as 1-step (direct routing) or as 2-step (standard routing) or 3-step (inspection routing).
    in your case, there r two options:
    1. its a direct routing, so receiving transaction has already taken place...see receiving transaction summary form..
    2. receiving txn has gone to error status or is pending for processing. use receiving transaction status form to review if it is in pending/ error status.
    in case of pending...launch receiving transaction processor conc program....
    please check and set profile RCV: processing mode appropriately.
    thanks,

  • Form help - receiving responses via e-mail (Acrobat 9 Pro Extended)

    I have created a "test" form in Acrobat.  The question fields are proprietary content and thus security is set such that the recipient cannot copy, change, or print the form.  The answer fields are drop-downs with A - D options.  I have sent the form to myself as a test and all that works properly.  I need to be able to receive completed forms via e-mail (or just the data if that works) but need to eventually be able to export (or copy) each response set, in order, into MSExcel.  When I tried to send the completed form via e-mail, it indicates the form cannot be saved (obviously due to security settings) and thus the changes (answers) will not be part of the form - only the original with the default answers.
    How can I enable responders to send me the test answers via e-mail, without compromising the proprietary nature of the form's content?
    Also, I would prefer not to use the Adobe on-line repository because, as I understand it, gives the user access to the form via the web.
    I do have a web site in which I could host the test and allow users to access it, take the test, and then submit the answers.
    THANKS!!!!

    I finally got our webmaster to put the link to the form online so that I could test the form. It is not sending to the address specified. I have setup the Submit button as follows: in the window under Enter a URL for this link: the URL was input as MailTo: [email protected] (there is a space between MailTo: and the e-mail address). After submitting Outlook 2k3 sends back an undeliverable message. Is the space in the URL causing the issue or is it something I need to run by our security people due to the way the form is being submitted?
    Many thanks,
    Mike

  • Fillable Forms and Gathering responses

    I have created a form in Adobe lifecycle using nothing but subforms since I need expandable fields.  I use distribute but it is giving me the opition of emailing the form. I need to be able to post to form on our website and have people access the form for completion and when they hit submit the responses are sent to electronically.  Not sure how to do this.  I know I can't use Forms Central as if won't let me have the fields that expand based on the amount of text I put in.

    If you want help in creating a script to do what you want, then the Acrobat Scripting forum is the place to ask. If you wish to throw a large chunk of change at the problem, there are LiveCycle products that can probably do what you want. It will probably require tens of thousands of dollars, specialized IT staff and a Windows or Unix Server.

  • Send XML Message via HTTP and Receive Response

    Hello,
    We have a scenario where we need to update Currency Exchange Rates in R/3 via a 3rd party called Oanda.  I'd like to use XI for this Interface, if possible.
    Basically, we need to send XML over HTTP.  Here's the URL and the XML we need to use for our POST (I'll need to perform the look-up for about 15 currency codes - I plan on using a BPM process to loop through each currency code specified in a flat file):
    http://www.oanda.com/cgi-bin/fxml/fxml?fxmlrequest=<CONVERT><CLIENT_ID>TestAccount1</CLIENT_ID><EXCH>USD</EXCH><EXPR>CAD</EXPR><DATE>03/25/2008</DATE></CONVERT>
    And the reponse looks like this:
    <RESPONSE>
      <EXPR>CAD</EXPR>
      <EXCH>USD</EXCH>
      <AMOUNT>1</AMOUNT>
      <NPRICES>1</NPRICES>
      <CONVERSION>
        <DATE>Mon, 24 Mar 2008 20:00:00 GMT</DATE>
        <ASK>1.0257</ASK>
        <BID>1.0251</BID>
      </CONVERSION>
    </RESPONSE>
    I plan on mapping each reponse to BAPI_EXCHRATE_CREATEMULTIPLE, using BPM.
    So my question is this:  Should I use the HTTP adapter for the out going POST to Oanda?  If so, would the HTTP adapter be consider the sender or the receiver?  Also, how would the XML message be automatically appended to the end of the URL (i.e., after the fxmlrequest parameter)?  I guess I'm a little confused on how to use the HTTP adapter...  Are there any blogs that discuss this type of scenario?
    Thanks,
    Matt

    Hi guys,
    I have few concerns for setting up this scenario.
    1). I have created a data type for request mapping, and teste the mapping.
    The output looks like below:
      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
      <ns1:MT_CONVERT xmlns:ns1="http://test.com/ExchngRate">
       <CONVERT>
         <CLIENT_ID>test</CLIENT_ID>
         <EXPR>CAD</EXPR>
         <EXCH>USD</EXCH>
         <DATE>10/21/2009</DATE>
         <AMOUNT>1</AMOUNT>
       </CONVERT>
      </ns1:MT_CONVERT>
    How to pass only
      <CONVERT>
         <CLIENT_ID>test</CLIENT_ID>
         <EXPR>CAD</EXPR>
         <EXCH>USD</EXCH>
         <DATE>10/21/2009</DATE>
         <AMOUNT>1</AMOUNT>
       </CONVERT>
    to the receiver HTTP adapter.
    2) I am using URL address in the receiver HTTP adapter.
    Target Host: www.oanda.com
    Path Prefix: cgi-bin/fxml/fxml?fxmlrequest=
    What is will be Service Number?
    Looking forward for you help. Your help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Namadev

  • Issues distributing packages and receiving Win32 Error = 0

    Within the last month or so, we've been experiencing issues distributing various packages to our DP's. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it; it can be any combination of packages and DP's.
    We've noticed that just before the Win32 error occurs, the following 4 lines usually precede the error:
    UpdateStagedFile failed; 0x80070040
    UpdateStagedFolderRdc failed; 0x80070040
    UpdateStagedFolderRdc failed; 0x80070040
    UpdateStagedFolderRdcW failed; 0x80070040
    We've had an open ticket with MS for over a week now, but there hasn't been any progress.
    Any light you guys could shed on this would be greatly appreciated!

    This is a known issue for SCCM 2012. A official fix will be released in the near future. If you want to test instantly, contact CSS to open a case to get a test fix.

  • Simple Q. how to store/publish acrobat form and "return" as email attachment

    New to acrobat.com and wondering if this can be done (with acrobat.com).
    I have roughly 20 acrobat forms that I want to be accessible on the internet for about 5 specific people to access via the internet. The goal would be for them to click on the acrobat form, fill it out and then "return" it to me as an email attachment. The forms are not complex or long, typically 5 questions to respond to.
    So, I signed up for the free buzz option, uploaded a pdf form and saved it in a shared workspace. I see the file (test.pdf) in the all files section. The downward-pointing triangular arrow next to the file gives me the option of open vs download vs share among other choices. I really just want to open, but when I try that it says"this file is a pdf form. Please download the file and use adobe reader to fill out the form and submit your responses". I then click download it then asks for a location (this will be a problem-source of confusion). I save it to a location but that location already has that file and wants to  overwrite it-another problem. I quickly see that this is the wrong solution for me.
    So, can this be done with acrobat.com or should I be using something like dreamweaver and a personal web site? Thanks in advance.

    Hello there,
    Thank you for your post. What you would like to do is most easily achieved using Acrobat desktop software; this is a well-defined workflow, using Acrobat.com to distribute forms and collect responses, and deliver these responses to the Acrobat Tracker, where you can then analyze them and sort the data. If you're on a Windows machine, I recommend downloading a free 30-day trial of Acrobat Pro software, which you can get here:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatpro/tryout.html
    (Unfortunately, there is no trial available for Mac at this time.)
    Beyond that, there really isn't a more streamlined way to collect form responses with Acrobat.com; the Acrobat workflow works very well, however, and I encourage you to give it a shot. Here's a video that illustrates how it works:
    http://www.adobe.com/designcenter/video_workshop/?id=vid0348
    Please let me know if you have any further questions about Acrobat.com, and I will be happy to answer them for you.
    Best regards,
    Rebecca

  • Acrobat XI hangs when adding a response from distributed form, when specific form field is filled

    As the question says, when using the distribute form functionality of Acrobat, it hangs at the step of importing or adding a filled form, when a specific field on the form is filled.  It happens whether the tracker automatically detects it when I open the distributed form and asks me to add it, or I manually try to add it in the responses form. Here's the screenshot of when I tried manually adding it.  The first line is the one that hangs and is missing all fields except that "Approved" check box.  But it's the last field "ApprovedDate" that makes it hangs if it's filled in the form.  The Progress dialog just stays there forever and I can't click cancel.  When it tries to add it automatically, nothing appears on the screen, the form just stays open and the tracker doesn't come up.  I'm on Windows 7, Acrobat XI Pro.  I can send you the form if needed.
    Edit: I investigated further and there were Java scripts associated with that date field.  These would have been added while creating the form in Acrobat; I don't remember how exactly, but I only meant to validate the date format.  I've removed all the scripts and reset the desired date format on the field and it seems to work now.

    I use Mavericks and Acrobat XI. I haven't had any issues so far.
