How to copy the Pricing conditions from one Distribution Channel to another

Generally we use VK11 transaction to create conditional records .
but I Need to Know whether is it Possible to copy the Pricing conditions from one Distribution Channel to another with same name and same internal Characteristics .
Since we have around 70+ of Condition type with different parameter Sequence.So Instead of Going for BDC whether is there any standard Funct Modules/programs/BAPIs to do this?

since SAP has already provided to copy conditions from Customer to customer.
Likewise i need to know whether SAP is facilitating for these feature also.

- IDOC_INPUT_COND_A (you can create IDOC, but also call directly)
- call transaction / batch input (use transaction XK15, as used by LSMW)
- use group of function modules RV_CONDITION_COPY, RV_CONDITION_SAVE, RV_CONDITION_RESET + commit.
if you search SDN on 'RV_CONDITION_COPY' you'll find more info I believe.
Someone mentioned BAPI_PRICE_CONDITIONS as well.

Common distributions channels

Hi everybody:
I want to use the functionality of common distributions channels only for the creation of customer's master data.
I want to preserve the update of sales area to the materials master data because the same material in the same company code could have different Acct assignment group and Output Tax depends on the sales zone.
But if I have many sales area when I have the same customer in many sales zone and in this case the data never changes only I need one sales area to maintain.
Can I customize only the common distribution channel applies only for the creation customers master data?

Hi Susana,
I don't think this is possisble with customizing :(.
And I don't think there is an 'easy' solution for it neither
1) Either go for an automated creation / change of the customer master data to the 'non-maintained' sales areas
( maybe you can setup something with ALE and link back to your own system and only override the distribution channel when creating the customer in the 'remote' system )
2) If it's only necessary for certain pricing / tax operations to use the material master data for the original sales area ( rather then the common sales area ) , it's probably possible to use userexits to overule the default values found by SAP for the commoen sales area and replace them with your own : e.g. userexit 'userexit_move_field_to_vbap' in mv45afzz
can be used to retrieve your own vbap data

Risk on wrong definition of sales organization, distribution channel and division

Hi,
our organization just started to implement SAP and SD module is one of the subject to complete.
We are in the defining phase of the above subject but I still can not understand the risk of being miss-defining the sales organization, distribution channel and division. Is it true will only impacting the pricing and reporting only? Are there going to be future impact on this?

Good to see the suggestions!
These are the rules I try to follow:
Do not over do it. Simple is better and facilitates change.
One sales organization for each company code unless significant differences exist between independent sales departments. Like one wants to use CRM and others won't. It's roughly equivalent to one by each top level sales director.
One distribution channel for each sales channel group that defines different prices or different shipping conditions for the same material. Like retail and wholesale have different pricing. Special rules can apply like mail delivery require different correspondence settings.
One division for each division of the company. If company has no clearly defined divisions (like Aeronautics and Footwear) there is no need (in sales) to split (it might in financials).
Using sales office and sales group for reporting is a lot better than the top level structures because it's easy to change them in master data, unlike sales org or distribution channel. And when departments get reorganized the system effort is significantly reduced if no change occurs at those three top levels.
So I normally use the sales office to the first or second level of reporting and sales group in some cases to represent individual sales persons or nothing at all in other cases.

Credit control on distribution channel wise

can anyone tell me how to have credit control on distribution channel wise
i know sales area assignment to credit control area
but can we have a direct way of controlling credit can three be any way

Yes we can do by using Distribution channel..
Take 2 sales areas with different D.Channel assign those to 2 different credit control areas that configuration that u can do in enterprize structure -

assign sales area to credit control area..
Now the assignment between Credit control area and company code, as per our SD concerned we can assign one credit control area to one company code i.e one to many relation ..
but internally u can assign one more credit control area i.e which is assigned to 2nd sales area to same company code. here it is in Financial accounting--- credit management there u can find search on that, there u can assign one more C.C.Area to C.Code....
From this way u can maintain creditlimit to the customer on basis of credit control area
In FD32 u r maintaining credit limit to the customer in the combination of credit control area..
i hope so this will help u so much, try it and let me know...
Credit groups are linked with sales document type sales document is linked with sales areas .,thats why distribution channels are linked to credit groups.

Distribution channel for third party sales

Hello Gurus,
May I know what is the distribution channel or type of it I should or could use for third party sales order creation?
I have configured the ITC etc but not sure the distribution channel to use from the standard SAP provided ones.
Or I can use any without affecting the process?

You can use any without affecting the process.
3rd party process is controlled by - item cat. group, item category, schedule line cat., etc.
At some places, separate order type or dist ch are used only for Reporting purpose.

Customer Dunning as per the distribution channel.

Hello Experts,
We wish to do the mass customer dunning as per the distribution channel and avoid printing of the targeted dunning first/earlier
1. What is the process to print the dunning in mass for the whole group of customers of the same type E.G distribution channel?
2. After obtaining the customer dunning listed as below, can we not print the customer dunning who are also the vendors to whom we own the amounts which are higher and who will not deposit the dunning if they are printed?
3. How to print the dunning in mass of a list of customers?

If a business manufactured different types of pipes,Gas kets,Magnet,Hand pump etc.The sale is from Plant & depot to direct customer,dealer,distributor,Project sale,Institutional sale etc & some Stock transfer From plant to depot & depot to depot.
So please give me the solution how Distribution channel,customer account group,partner function can be define in sap.

Either you can generate based on the number range / Reconciliation Account through dynamic selection (if the account group for customer codes is defined at distribution channel level logic).
Otherwise, you are required to use any one of the following fields in the customer master creation :-
Industry / Search Term /Accounting Clerk etc. with a identification of the required combination.

Stock transfer distribution channel

In stock transfer process is it required to maintain a stock transfer distribution and division since it's between two plant and if so is it required to maintain a account group as my plant where it'll be possibile to maintain the plant as a customer and vendor

It all depends on the Client requirements that if they want to track the STO Sales through Distribution Channel,then it would be better to have a different Distribution Channel as 'ST'.
Now in IMG > MM > Purchasing > Purchase Order > Stock Transport Order > Define Shipping Data for Plants .Here define the Plant in the Sales Area with the Customer Number which you will create in Customer Master.
Its better to have a different Account Group for STO Customers as they would have the different Number Range , Text , Output Determination Procedure & Screen Settings

Distribution channel for analysis?

hello,
could you kindly advice me what is the relevance of distribution channel in financial reporting from the Org. structure and reproting perspective.
If there are specific customers which require are grouped together and that distribution channel is used
to group these customers due to various reasons for financial reporting or the another choice or possibility to group customers at the customer level and then perform the reporting or analysis is something not clear which is a better way forward.

Distribution channel is an Org element in SD to bifurcate sales data based on the channels in which you reach the customer say Wholesale, Retail, Direct, etc
A sales to a customer can happen through any of these channels

Distribution channel in org model

Hi Gurus,
        I assighned Ditribution channel 10 as attribute in Sales org,Sales off,Sales group.and for determination i used region and country,Based on region and country the Organizational unit is getting determined in the quotation correctly,But i am unable to get the values of sales org & Distribution channel automatically.
Can u please help on this

         I have done that yesterday and it is working fine,The problem is because when i press F4 in attributes for divisions in org model,i am not getting two digits as i done in SPRO.i am getting first one digit in division and the other digit and describtion is coming in describtion,so i forced the division with 2 digits,and my problem is solved
The quostion is why i am getting one digit in F4 of division,For distribution channel it is fine .and when i didnt enter the division as attributes in org model,the determination of sales org and distribution channel is not taking in the order,only the responsible org unit is taking in order.
Is that division important to be given in attrbutes of org model for determination of sales org and distribution channel.
Please give me some clarification

Creating customer without maintaining common distribution channel & divisio

While I'm creating a customer in ECC (XD01) its showing the error that customer not defined in sales area, How can I create a customer without maintaining common distribution channel & division

Suppose you have created a customer from one account group say "Domestic customers", company code is ZXXX, Sales area is 1000/100/10. Now if you are having a scenario wherein the same customer is involved in Export scenario or process. Then in that case instead of creating new customer for the same customer we will extend this customer to new export sales area.
This is performed in XD01 Screen itself.
Enter the Account Group wherein the customer is existing
Enter Company code: ZXXX
Enter the sales area where you want to extend 1000/EX/EX and in the same screen below there is a header "Reference" in which you enter customer no. (Internall or external) should be mentioned here,
Company code ZXXX
Sales area: 1000/100/10
Click Tick mark, Now the customer is Extended to new sales area.

Production settlements causing unassigned distribution channel in PA

Hi Experts,
When a production settlement process is run we have noticed that we are getting various unassigned postings in PA. The settlements do not generate distribution channel or reporting group assignments amongst other things.
Is there somewhere that these can be defined via the settlement process ? Or are these scenario's dealt with using Top-down distribution or Derivation rules ?

Hi,
Please check if the settlement rule contains the required characteristics. If not they have to be populated via derivation i.e. tcode KEDR. If this is also not possible then top down distribution could be explored.

Open items report with distribution channel

Hi All,
Our Client require a report for all open items specifically for distribution channel. We tried the same with FBL5N and F.21 and tried with the dynamic selections too for distribution channel field for selection but in vain
Please advice if we have any report specific for the abover requirement.
