Distribution Rules -Direct Debit

Hi,
When seting up a distribution rule there is some option called the "Direct Debit"
This acording to what I have simulated is the "Direct allocation" of Expenses or Revenue as seen in the Profit Center Report.
Is this something to do with the Direct and Indirect expense or revenue accounting?
If not what is the use of this feature?
Regards

1.While creating a PO,for line item Tax code should be genarated from Transaction category(Form A,Form C) tax tab.
If you can give me your email address I can send you a document on India Localisation for taxation which might help solvinh your problem.

This option needs to be selected if you want to debit/credit the profit center directly.

  • Changing the automatic Distribution Rule from Per to Full

    Hello SAPians,
I have a scenario where the Customer is maintaining the Moving Average Price (I know this is not SAP suggested, I am in the process of convincing to move from moving avg to Std) for the Semi-finished goods and finished goods.
It is Product Cost by Order scenario where Process Orders are using and the settlement rule to the Material and distribution rule is "Per" (Periodic). The main reason Customer had this Per was they would not be able to settle the Order once they settle it in full.
But due to increased issues in month end atctivities due to thie 'Per' settlement (settlement of Process Orders not settling properly in the last month due to the failure of Batch jobs and other reasons). I want to suggest them to use Distribution Rule 'Full' instead of 'Per' because of the following advantages considering the above scenario.
    1. The 'Full' settlement can be settled if the Order is not in Teco or closed status any number of times as long as there is the Variance sitting on the Order.
    2. The 'Full' Distribution rule will not create issue if the variance is sitting on the Order in the closed period because when you do the settlement in the next period, system will allocate the variances from the last period to the Material Receiver in the current Period(I have not yet tested this scenario) and has not been. (Yeah I know there will be issue if the Material has been moved out of inventory before the settlement happens, they have another set up to update the Material prices manually by keeping the track of cost of Material).
    3. So the config change will be the Product cost by Order -> Manufacturing Order-> Define Cost-Accounting-Relevant Default Values for Order Typ --> change the Default rule from PP1 to PP2 'Process orders (periodic settlement)'
Please let me know if what I am thinking is wrong based on this sceanrio and also please give me some more insight if I am missing any points.
Thank you very much for your time!
    -Harter.

    Hi Balaji/Ajay,
Could you please help me in understanding the effect of Variances if I change the Order type to FULL in this scenario (Moving Average price for Finished good Material)?
I checked the configuration and the Variance is only Total Variance that is settling to FI and COPA.
Also client is more concentrated on Variance accumulated per year and not per month.
Let's say I have Order in Period 9 where the actual debits on the Order are $1000 and actual credits are $1200 where balance (variance) is $200 and suppose I missed the Period 9 settlement and I want to settle this Order in Period 10 where I had $100 variance in that Period 10
    Period         Variance on Order                Status
    9              $200                   missed
    10              $100                   not yet
So now when I settle the Order in period 10 (with FULL as settlement type), it settles $300 instead of $100 variance. So if this is the case, if I look at the Variance data, yes the variance data is wrong but if I look at yearly perspective, it looks right but I think I am missing something here, right?
Also what happens if the Order is open more than one year and the same scenario happens, the Variance will be posted to new year which is again issue, right?
Am I in the right direction?
    Please advice.
    Thank you,
    -Harter.

  • Different Distribution Rule on Outgoing Payment cannot be split on Journal

    Hi All,
I created an Outgoing Payment for Vendor for several invoices. Each invoice was assigned to different Distribution Rule. But the journal created summarized all the invoices (only one row for debit AP), and no distribution rule was assigned. Is this a bug? Anybody ever experienced the same problem?
Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Profit Centers & Distribution Rules

    hi experts,
I have created a distribution rule which consists of 5 profit centers as following:
    Sales1 20%
    Sales2 20%
    Sales3 20%
    Sales4 20%
    Sales5 20%
I posted a JE with amount of 2000 to one of my expense accounts with distribution rule tagged in row level.
    Run:
P&L statement with profit center Sales1 is selected (expected result: expense account 400)
    Result:
Empty~NOTHING. (I believe 400 should be showing in my P&L right?)
Please advice me on above statement.

    Hi Lim,
you need to define the distribution rule (remember if it is direct charge or indirect charge), than You can post a document or a JE with a G/L account of expenses or profit and you need to specify the Dsitribution Rule code into the JE row with the G/L Account.
When you run the Profit Center Report and you can see the amount's distributed by Profit Center based on the rule you have defined.
With the Profit & Loss Statement, you can't run it with the Profit Center into Expanded Selection Criteria but you can run only with the Distribution Rule (in fact into the JE you have inserted the rule non the profit center !! ).
This is a limitation and a system definiton of Cost Accounting into Business One.

  • Direct Debit Process for Loans

    Hello,
I have a problem with the direct debit process. After invoicing, when i click in my due item to display the Billing document, the payment method is empty. So I use the transaction FPY1 and fill in all data, also the payment method, but once I execute the debit memo run, I return to my billing document, and my due item hasn't changed (the truck icon doesn't appear). So I can't follow with the payment distribution process.
    Could anyone help me?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Direct Debit nightmare!!!

I have a direct debit in place on my account which is used to take monthly payments. I used to have the payment date set for the 27th of each month. Last month, February, I decided to change my payment date to the 18th of each month. I telephoned BT just after doing this as I changed it on the 19th to find out when my next payment would be as I wasn't sure if I would still get a debit on the 27th of that month. I was informed that my next payment would be the 18th March and no payment would debit on the 27th as I had given more than seven days notice. I decided to email BT as well as I wasn't convinced by the Indian call centre's knbowledge and received a reply a day later to inform me that a payment would be taken on the 27th February as a payment had to be taken each month as part of the monthly payment plan rules. I phoned BT again, Indian call centre, who assured me that no no no there would be no payment taken on the 27th and the information I had been given was wrong. Lo and behold on the 27th February a payment flew out of my account. I was livid with the wrong information I had received and after going all the way to the cancellations department I received a month's free line rental as an apology. I was also assured that March's payment would be debited on the 18th as I had changed it to.
I have checked my bank account today, 21st March, and NO payment has been taken again on the 18th. I am now ready to start tearing my hair out as I have again been on the telephone to BT who have AGAIN given me two different explanations as to why payment has not been taken on the 18th. I actually had one advisor try to blame it on me because I should have told my bank I wanted the payment date changed, when I advised him that I have never heard of such a thing having to happen when you change a payment date with a company and that I have changed many different companies direct debit payment dates without having to inform my bank I was constantly interrupted and basically had the blame turned around on me! After ending the call as I was becoming increasingly positive I was not receiving a correct explanation I spoke with another advisor in Live Help who assured me that no payment would be taken this month and my next payment was due on the 18th April. When I asked why BT had not taken payment on the 18th I was met with another brick wall.
I now do not know when payment will fly out of my bank account again. I am so frustrated with BT it is unbelievable, the customer service I have received today is terrible. This problem is now two months old and I am still going around in circles trying to talk to an english call centre who understand the problem and want to investigate it properly. I am now on the verge of transferring to Sky as I have lost all faith in the billing department.

    Hi StvBelding
This really sounds frustrating, I'll be happy to have a look into your account and make sure that we get the payment date that you want, set up.

  • Automatic events for COST/EVENT distribution rule

    Hi,
We are using 11.5.10 in our organization and we are using the following distribution rules
    a) WORK/WORK
    b) WORK/EVENT
    c) EVENT/EVENT
    d) COST/EVENT
The COST/EVENT projects generates automatic event and that too these events are passed in functional currency.
    a) Is there a way we can stop these automatic generation of events?
    b) If not, is there a way we can make the system to generate events in Project Currency?
    Thanks
    ARS

    Hi
By standard functionality system will not allow you to update the distribution rule of an active project. Here are three ideas to overcome the issue. Note those are not solutions that Oracle will give you, so be sure to test them carefully before implementing on real system.
Please note the COST formula is calculating: ITD actual costs/total Approved Cost Budget X Total approved Revenue Budget. The billing extension called COST has as setup the name of the budget types for revenue and costs. It is possible to update the names of the budget types on the billing extension setup form. You might try setting a special budget types names which you designated only for that calculation. Enter budget cost and revenue values that will force the system to always get a zero result, so it will not create any new automatic event from that billing extension.
Another option is to go on and modify the SQL code of the billing extension COST (some times named COST_TO_COST). By modifying the code you prevent it from generating new events.
Another option is to update the distribution rule (Revenue Method) of the individual projects from COST to EVENT or WORK. Such update cannot be done from the front end, but you could easily do it by direct update on the database table.

  • Incoming direct debit file not posted automatically

    hi friends,
i have a problem with the Direct debit file there were some statements not posted automatically. the statements used to post automatically before but suddenly i see they are not being posted. i have checked the posting rules they use "Incoming payments with subledger clearing" i have no clues why these statements failed to post automatically.
any suggestions will be really appreciated.

    Hello
I do not know which country you operate from, but it seems to be that you are triying to use a "payment medium workbench" DME generator that is not created (Format tree is not created)
I think that you have assigned a PMW DME generator in Payment Method that is not created in the PMW Library.
    Possible solutions:
    - use "traditional" program as RFFOXX_D
    - create the PMW in the Payment Medium Workbench

  • Problems Setting up a Direct Debit

has anyone experienced any problems setting up a direct debit ??
I've been a BT customer for approximately 20 years and have had the same account number. I've moved house a few times and retained the same account. My last house move wasn't so successful as after moving in and having broadband re set up again... I received a letter in the post saying I had requested a "termination" and a parcel was included to send my router back etc... plus... I'd be charged £100+ for the disconnection...
Anyway I got on the phone to BT and the advisor appologised for the mix up... and suggested I cancel my direct debit with the bank to make sure the disconnection fee wasn't taken from my account.....
Ever since then... I have not being able to set up a direct debit online or by speaking with several BT helpdesk staff.  I email BT asking for an explaination - NOTHING.  BT helpdesk staff assure me that the direct debit will work this time and will contact me if there is a problem... again NOTHING.  I even tried writing a letter to the head of customer services... I think the name Warren Buckley rings a bell..   Someone did email me back suggesting I use the online facility.... REALLY!!  Do BT not have a fault tracking database of customer issues... so they can see I've already tried to set up the direct debit online...
Anyway ..... I've just noticed this forum now... so this is my latest attempt to see if anyone senior enough at BT will be embarrassed and try and sort out my account so I can start paying my bill using Direct Debit again... I'm pretty sure all that needs to happen is to be given a new account number or an account alias that can be sent to my bank. Otherwise... I'll just carry on waiting to receive the automated message from BT saying I haven't paid and then go and pay online... But I am worried one of these automated messages will arrive the day I go on a 2 week holiday and I find myself cut off when I get home... giving me more pain....
    PLEASE HELP BT ;o)
    regards
    DaveB

  • Help, direct debit options changed without my cons...

help,   Any ideas how to get through to some in BT security time in UK ?   Recieved an email to say  "Thanking me for setting up a direct debit and that you are taking £xxxx from my account in  8days !" As I already have a debit debit for many years with you have not authorised you to take this payment I'm a little alarmed"   BT call centre have advised me that I have requested " Whole Bill Direct Debit", but I haven't. They then advised someone in my family has, but that is not possible as it's only me. I have asked if my account has been hacked but they just say  I requested this change.   My direct debit has been changed from a fixed payment to "Whole Bill Direct Debit".    I am quite alarmed, the call centre do not understand or ignorning what I am saying. Has my account been hacked or is this an error on BT's part ?

It's very unlikely that anybody would bother to hack into your account just to change the way you pay your bills.  They would have nothing to gain by doing so.
Much more likely, it's some misunderstanding.  Have you changed anything about your account recently that may have prompted BT to change your billing?  BT have a nasty habit of combining changes to one service with changing something else that's apparently unrelated.
If it's really necessary, you can always cancel the direct debit with your bank.  But that will leave the bill unpaid, so that could just cause more problems than it solves.  Better to contact BT, and be more insistant that they tell you who made the changes, when they did it and why.
I don't suppose it's any help to you, but many of us on this forum much prefer Whole Bill Direct Debit anyway.  You just pay what you owe every month, rather than paying some arbitrary figure that BT plucked out of thin air.
