G Toolbox has a set of VIs can do this:
Enumerate Display Mode: Enumerate all supported display modes(width, height, color depth, & frequency) on your computer;
Get Display Mode: Get current screen resolution, color depth, and frequency;
Restore Display Mode: Restore the screen resolution, color and frequency to the registry values dynamically;
Set Display Mode: Change screen resolution, color and frequency dynamically, with option of change registry settings.  If no change, the previous settings can be restored with Restore Display Mode, or reboot.

  • Changing monitor resolution with proper aspect ratio

    My project size is 800x600 and I wanted to provide an option to the user to change their monitor resolution at 800x600 by clicking on button. I have also planned to do it by using buddy api xtra, and already tested it. The problem is, when I am doing this on a PC with panoramic monitor (native resolution 1920x1080), it got stretched. I know it's very natural (as the aspect ratio has changed ) and I can get it in shape by squeeze the width using 'draw.rect'.
    I noticed, there are some PCs with advanced display card that don't even get stretched, but shows the 800x600 resolution in proper aspect ratio by keeping the extra space black both sides. And I don't need to write any further codes (squeeze the width using 'draw.rect') to keep it in shape.
    The real problem starts here, I can't able to filter the above situations by any logical means. I wanted to write codes only for the PCs that get stretched, but I didn't able to find any support from Director to determine which type of display card has been attached. I need to know whether it will get stretched, or the display card can able to manage the aspect ratio.
    Any one have any solution in this matter?
    Please don't hesitate to ask if you need any more info.

    Hello handler
    If you talking about this kind of thing...
    https://forums.adobe.com/message/5773207
    search for.....  _movie.stage.drawRect = _system.deskTopRectList[1]    &    _movie.stage.rect = _system.deskTopRectList[1]
    You don't need an xtra to change the resolutions - but you do have to work a few things - I tend to use flash text because it scales better.

  • Prevent OS X from changing Monitor Resolution

    I purchased a 19" LCD monitor the other day. It's a third-party FujiPlus FP-988D monitor. It has a variety of resolutions, however, changing to any of them ends up making it go "out of range".
    So, my problem is that I have a game, "Nemo" which insists on changing the resolution to play the game. I tried loading it up with 'option' and also tried doing command-M to get it into a windowed mode but neither works.
    So the game loads and the monitor heads 'out of range' and I have to quit it (command-Q) to get it to go back to normal.
    I would like to somehow force OS X to prevent resolution changes so the game is forced to use the current resolution or quit.

    Turns out the answer to this is my video card will not support other resolutions with the ADC port. It's too old.

  • Crystal Reports XI Pro About 25% of DLL File attributes changed on install

    Post Author: sakelly
    CA Forum: Deployment
    I am having problems preparing an installation of Crystal Reports XI Pro in a Sanctuary Application Controlled environment where the unique file hashes of DLLs and EXEs need to be recorded and pre-authorised before they can execute.  This is because when Crystal Reports XI Pro installs it changes the content of a large number of dlls (for examples chartui.dll and CEReportSource.dll) which all have new file create and modify dates.  Hence the file hashes of a previous installation which are authorised for use are different and the application fails to run.Are these changes necessary?  It is quite rare to see any application change files this way (sometimes except for licensing reasons).Is there anyway of customising the install to stop the files from changing on install?Will it be safe to overwrite files that are installed with previously installed files (which have been authorised?)  I've done some basic testing and it appears ok but a lot of these files are only accessed when producing reports.Thanks,Shaun KellyFurther details on Sanctuary product http://www.lumension.com/Sanctuary_AC_Endpoint_Security.jsp?rpMenuId=118466

    The closest to a solution I came up with was to try installing Crystal Reports XI from the cds. When the error occurs click to ignore the error and proceed with the install. After the install is finished, the installer will check for updates which gives a link to Crystal Reports XI Release 2 Service pack 4. This is a complete install file of around 1.7 GB in size. Using this install removes the old Crystal Reports XI Release 1 which is where this issue springs from, and installs Release 2 with no errors. Dll versions will change from 11 to 11_5 and the Crystal Viewer will have updated features, like their calendar no longer loads externally within a small internet explorer window, but rather it loads an internal calendar control. After you have installed the updated install file that is the Release 2 version, you can go to this link and install the Service Pack 5 update that Business Objects came out with. • Changing monitor resolution and refresh rate

    Does anyone know how to change the monitor resolution and refresh rate on a Sun workstation?

    Hi,
    On Solaris 8 you can use the command fbconfig to do this job.
    Please check the FAQ:

  • Tecra M5-106: Display with 1024 * 768 resolution is not clear

    I buy Toshiba Tecra M5-106, it is 14.1" screen.
    When i set the screen resolution to 1024 * 768, every thing comes not clear... also the fonts is not good. Could be the sharpness or other?
    Any one see this before, or have solution for this?
    Solving this is highly appreciated.
    Ragards,

    Hello Bualim,
    The M5 is a really great notebook with very good characteristics. There are versions of this notebook with a NVIDIA graphic card (NVIDIA® Quadro® NVS 110M 128 MB DDR2) and others with an INTEL chipset. I don't know which one your model has unless you post the model code that is printed under your notebook.
    According to some research I made, the native resolution of your monitor should be 1400x1050 so you should leave your notebook to work in this resolution rather than something lower like 1024x768.
    You might say, "the fontsize is too small in 1400x1050", nevertheless you should NOT change into lower resolution (the common procedure done on the old CRT Monitor) but have the size adjusted through Window's "Appearance settings" on the "Display properties". This is the right way to go on a TFT screen (notebook): Always keep the maximum (your native) resolution and adjust the size of icons and fonts through software settings within windows.
    Ok, getting back to your problem now:
    =Have you all display drivers loaded into your system? (The correct ones for your graphic card?)
    =Is your Graphic card recognized correctly in the "Device manager menu" without any "yellow conflict" signs?
    You will find the most (Toshiba supplied) recent Display drivers in the dedicated upgrade section for your model. Here is a tiny-link to the Toshiba Display driver for your model. Make sure to choose the correct chipset (nvidia OR INTEL).

  • Cannot change laptop monitor resolution the normal (?) way

    Hi folks, I'm trying to get a resolution other than 800x600 working. I read that you just had to write this resolution in on the leftmost side of the appropriate line on the config file, and I did, but it isn't working. I'm using fluxbox, and so I don't have any GUI tools for setting the resolution, but changing the resolution by GUI tool didn't work in GNOME anyhow. I tried a number of different horizontal/vertical sync rates, although maybe I haven't tried the right one.
    Here is some possibly useful information:
    Arch 0.6
    Kernel 2.6.3
    Intel 852GM card
    Gateway m305XL box
    And a bit of my config file:

  • FCM: dead-simple File Change Monitor

    Here's a simple change monitor I wrote in C. It takes as arguments a list of files and associated commands; when the file changes, its command is executed.
    Example:
    $ fcm -f some-file.txt -e 'echo some-file.txt changed!' \
    > -E ad -f some-file-2.txt -e 'echo some-file-2.txt changed!'
    '-E ad' preceding the second file causes FCM to examine both attribute change and data change.

    Hi Peasantoid,
    I try to use fcm to print mail by saving a mail to a specific file while having this running:
    fcm -f ~/operamail.mbs -e "iconv -t iso8859-1 ~/operamail.mbs | a2ps -=mail -Pprinter"
    However, fcm starts two processes, thus I get two printouts:
    a2ps: unknown encoding `utf-8', ignored
    [stdin (Mail Folder): 2 pages on 1 sheet]
    a2ps: unknown encoding `utf-8', ignored
    [stdin (Mail Folder): 2 pages on 1 sheet]
    request id is printer-132344 (1 file(s))
    [Total: 2 pages on 1 sheet] sent to the printer `printer'
    request id is printer-132345 (1 file(s))
    [Total: 2 pages on 1 sheet] sent to the printer `printer'
    Both hardcopies show all text, so my first assumption that the file changes twice during writing is obviously not true. Can I overcome this in some way?
    Hrm. It may have something to do with me using inotify's IN_MODIFY instead of IN_CLOSE_WRITE. Run this in the source tree:
    sed -i s/IN_MODIFY/IN_CLOSE_WRITE/ fcm.c
    Then recompile and post back on whether it works.

  • How to change the resolution of a file?

    Hi, can someone please help me. I am working with illustrator CS and I am exporting a file as a jpeg. I need to print that file so when i export it i am changing the resolution to 150dpi. When i open the file in windows picture manager edit it and save the changes the file turns black and it prints a black page. This only happens when i change the resolution to 150dpi or higher if i leave it at 72dpi and make changes i don't have problems it will save fine. I have tried many different things but no luck. Hope someone here can help me. thank you.

    Sounds like an issue with your image editor. BTW if you plan on editing the image you should use a lossless format from Illustrator to the editor then save as a jpg. Each time you save the jpg more and more data gets thrown out until it unusable.

  • How do you change the resolution size of a mp4 file?

    I am looking for a free (really free, not just a trial for 30 days free) program that will allow me to change the resolution of a mp4 video.
    If this is a "parameter" setting issue in DW what would be the parameter and the value?
    The video is here: http://www.argraph.com/Sirui-P-Series-Monopods.html#psSeries.............a little past midway down the page.
    As you see the words SIRUI and the tag line cannot be seen in their entirety.
    THIS is the way it should look.....
    The second image represents a youtube link but my boss said he cannot see it on his laptop or tablet
    and insists that I use mp4 because it works with all formats; iphone, android, pc and mac.
    I tried doubling the size of the file and it worked but was SOoooooo big that it blew the page out so I suspect that I
    have to resize the file.
    Ken? Nancy? ANYBODY?????   Seriously as always any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

    1. As far as HTML5 support, if they have a browser made within the last few years (I think since about 2009), it supports html5. The page I linked to gives the versions where all of the major browsers started supporting the <video> tag.
    2. The "your browser does not support..." text is what appears on screen when a viewer uses a browser that doesn't support HTML5 (like IE8).
    If you still plan to support the old non-html5 browsers, the best thing to do is to place a fallback video using the old <object><embed> method in that "your browser does not support" location. That way, if they don't have an html5 compatible browser, the fallback video will play using whatever plug-in they have installed to deal with it. It would look like this...
    <video width="320" height="240" controls>
    <source src="movie.mp4" type="video/mp4" />
    <source src="movie.ogg" type="video/ogg" />
    <object width="320" height="240">
    <param name="movie" value="myvideo.swf" />
    <embed src="movie.swf" width="320" height="240"></embed>
    </object>
    </video>

  • Dynamically changing the name of the .dll file to load in call Library

    Our current model is to use dll files as "plug-in" modules for instruments and a top layer test step calls the appropriate driver dll.
    For instance
    the TestStep is called with the kenmore.dll passed as a parameter so the kenmore.dll file is loaded, the functions are registered and the functions are called.  Next the TestStep is called with whirlpool.dll as a parameter now the whirlpool.dll is loaded the functions are registered and the functions are called.  This works very well in our current CVI/LabWindows environment.  Now we plan to work with LabView, we wish to retain this model (as DLL files, there are advantages in our model for us).  We have not found a way to load these dll files from LabView without hard coding the path and filenames in.
    Any suggestions on how to dynamically change the path in the Call Library module, or another suggested method of loading the dll via LabView?
    Thanks,

    As Ben has pointed out LabVIEW
    scripting may be a possibility but you are going with that in highly
    unsupported area. Also I happen to know that changing the library name
    of a Call Library Node through scripting has produced unsupported
    feature errors previous to LabVIEW 7.1 eventhough the method was there.
    And LabVIEW 8 hides the whole scripting business behind the license
    manager.
    Another approach at least if the different DLLs do not change to often
    thier functions and parameters would be to create a wrapper DLL. Have
    it a method that loads the desired DLL and links its functions to
    internal function pointers. Then when calling the actual function entry
    points just redirect directly to the correct fucntion through that
    function pointer. Since you are already working in CVI creating such a
    DLL should be only a matter of taking out a little bit of your already
    existing code and put it into a DLL project.

  • Should I modify the camera file to change the greyscale resolution of my Photonfocus camera from 8 to 12 bits?

    I have some difficulties to use my Photonfocus camera with 12 bits greyscale resolution.
    I have a Photonfocus camera MV-D1024E-160-CL-12, a NI PCIe-1429 frame grabber, PFRemote 2.0 and Measurement & Automation Explorer 4.2.1.3001.
    If I work with 8 bits greyscale resolution (PFRemote -> Data Output: Resolution : 8 bit) and look at the image with MAX (Système -> Périphériques et interfaces -> NI-IMAQ Devices -> img0: NI PCIe-1429 -> Channel 0: PhotonFocus MV-D1024-160 (file in attachment), everything is working.
    Now I'd like to work with 12 bits and I don't know exactly what I have to change? I've tried to change only the resolution in PFRemote (PFRemote -> Data Output: Resolution : 12 bit) but then the image in MAX remains a 8 bit resolution. Then I've tried also to modify the camera file (file in attachment). I've put the "BitDepth" and the "BitsPerComponent" at 12 instead of 8 and the "BinaryThreshold" to (0,4095). But when trying to grab an image in MAX, an error occured: "Error 0xBFF600FE Le nombre de bits par pixel requis est invalide".
    Should I really modify the camera file in order to grab 12 bits images? Or what should I do?
    Thank you

    PhotonFocus MV-D1024-160.txt ‏5 KB

    Hi toto26,
    Thank you very much for the information. I did exactly the same thing as you suggested for 8-bit, and I were able to change the resolution (number of pixels), exposure time, frame rate without any problem. I understand that I need to coordinate the MAX icd file and the settings of PFRemote.
    When I tried to switch to 12-bit, I found that I need the camera file (.icd) for 12-bit. I tried the attached icd in the previous discussion (Photonfocus MV-D1024E-160-CL-12 12-bit 1429 X4 only.zip 2 KB). There was an IMAX Error: Error 0xBFF6002C, FIFO overflow caused acquisition to halt. Then I think maybe this camera file is not good for me because I have a PCIe-1427, instead of a PCIe-1429.
    So, I downloaded the camera file generator (from the same link you suggested) to create my own camera file. When I run the generator, the first window popped out was for camera setting, and there was no Photonfocus in the choice for the Manufacturer. Is it true that I cannot create camera files for Photonfocus camera, or I simply don't know how to use the generator?
    Thanks again for the help and I look forward to more advices.

  • How to Change the Resolution on the Monitor? Model HP 2011X- (20" flat screen monitor)

    "input signal out of range, change settings to 1600 x 900 -60HZ" How to make this change?
    I have a HP desktop PC and I recently purchased a HP 2011X  (20" flat monitor). Initially, I hooked it up to the pc and it worked and I did not have to install anything. But the other day, I ran the Microsoft's Fix-it-Center and ran the resolution problem detection even though I did not have any problem with the resolution. Within 5 seconds, a dark black screen appeared with the following message:
    INPUT SIGNAL OUT OF RANGE
    CHANGE SETTINGS TO
    1600 X 900 - 60HZ
    It displays this message and then the monitor goes to sleep. I press the buttons at the bottom of the monitor and from time to time, it displays a resolution screen that shows the monitor's resolution is not 1600 x 900 but that HP recommends that setting. However, I cannot change anything and that small screen with black background disappears in a few seconds. I cannot see anything else and I have tried the following:
    - Turned the PC on and off several times and the message is still there
    - Unplugged the power to the monitor and re-plugged it and no change
    - Unplugges the video cable from the PC to the monitor and re-plugged it and nothing
    Please help. I cannot see the PC screens at all even though the PC is on. All I see is the black background screen with white text with the above message. How do I fix this when I cannot see the Windows screen or from the monitor.
    Thanks,
    Bob

    Hello IE_PC_User,
    Let's try to get your computer to the boot options and go into VGA mode to see if you can change the resolution then.
    Start up your computer and start tapping away at the F8 key.
    Once the computer presents you with the boot options choose the VGA mdoe.
    It should boot up and everything look really out of place. Set the proper resolution and then reboot.

  • Is there a method in labviewto dynamically save and change the monitor resolution under program control?

    Is there a method in labview to dynamically save and change the monitor resolution under program control? I have another application that runs on another monitor. I would like to change the monitor resoultion to 640x480 on program startup, and then restore the monitor resolution back to the user's settings on exit. Can this be done?

    Have you already done this manually?  I've seen Labview scale front panels very strangely when changing resolutions...

  • Black Monitor after Change in Resolution

    I have a G3 running 9.1.
    I hooked up a pc monitor to the machine and it worked until I
    changed the resolution. Then the screen went black.
    Any ideas of how to reset it?

    Hi, Mot -
    Also, some CRT monitors contain their own PRAM which retains the last resolution settings made via the Monitors control panel. In many cases that can be cleared, or reset -
    To do this, power everything down, disconnect the video cable from the Mac. Then turn the monitor on, wait 15 to 20 seconds, then turn it off; wait about 10 seconds, then repeat the cycle, 3 or 4 times. Then reconnect the video cable and boot back up.
