DMS Vault - check in a new version

Hello.  I created a vault for the DMS.  It correctly places the files onto the server, and they are accessible.  However, it not longer's allows for versioning.  The 'check in as a new version' is grayed out.  Any ideas why?
Thanks,  Graeme.

Good day,
Have you allowed versioning to be possible, on the config side for "document types"

  • VSTO-Excel-Application: Check for available new version prior to launch

Although VSTO doesn't provide anything for checking for a new available application-version (VSTO Excel-Document-Level-Customization)
prior to launching the app (but this check outside the VSTO-Application itself obviously isn't possible) I would like to know if there is a better way to handle this whole procedure.
I'm using a .Net-Application which launches Excel first, checks if all environment-parameters are ok and if so, then it eventually launches the VSTO-Application. While performing the VSTO-launch I check for an available update  - if so, the Workbook
will be closed, the update will be executed silently and the VSTO-Application will be restarted. It works, but it is quite complicated and this method is not really nice.
So my question is: Is there a possibility to perfom the VSTO-Update from the Startup-Application without initially launching the VSTO-Application and so avoiding the launch of the VSTO-Application just to check if there's an available update.

    Hello,
Based on your description, it seems that you want the add-in check updates before the add-in loaded.
    Right?
If so, you could select Check every time the
customization runs, and that should solve your issue, because it will check updates before the add-in loaded.
You could refer to the loading process from
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/zcfbd2sk.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396, sepcially the step 6.
The following steps occur when a user opens a document that is part of a Microsoft Office solution.
The Microsoft Office application checks the custom document properties to see whether there are managed code extensions associated with the document. For more information, see
    Custom Document Properties Overview.
If there are managed code extensions, the application loads VSTOEE.dll, which loads VSTOLoader.dll. These are unmanaged DLLs that are the loader components for the Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime. For more information, see
Visual Studio Tools for Office Runtime Overview.
VSTOLoader.dll loads the .NET Framework and starts the managed portion of the Visual Studio Tools for Office runtime.
If the document is opened from a location other than the local computer, the Visual Studio Tools for Office runtime verifies that the location of the document is in the
Trusted Locations list in the Trust Center Settings for that particular Office application. If the document location is not in a trusted location, the customization is not trusted, and the load process stops here.
The Visual Studio Tools for Office runtime installs the solution if it has not been installed yet, downloads the most recent application and deployment manifests, and performs a series of security checks. For more information, see
    Securing Office Solutions.
If the customization is trusted to run, the Visual Studio Tools for Office runtime uses the deployment manifest and application manifest to check for assembly updates. If a new version of the
assembly is available, the runtime downloads the new version of the assembly to the ClickOnce cache on the client computer. For more information, see
    Deploying an Office Solution.
The Visual Studio Tools for Office runtime creates a new application domain in which to load the customization assembly.
The Visual Studio Tools for Office runtime loads the customization assembly into the application domain.
The Visual Studio Tools for Office runtime calls the Startup event handler in your customization assembly. For more information, see
    Events in Office Projects
If that is not the one fits your requirement, then I am afraid that it is impossible to get update before the add-in loads, because we could call
ClickOnce Api but there is no such event to call that api.

  • In Internet Explorer, in the internet options, you can change the temporary internet files to check for newer versions of stored pages. Can this be done in Firefox? And How?

I just want to know how I can change the settings to check for newer versions of stored pages in Firefox.

There is a hidden preference that controls when Firefox checks for a newer version. # Type '''about:config''' into the location bar and press enter
    # Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
    # Locate the preference '''browser.cache.check_doc_frequency''', double-click on it to change its value
For details on the possible values of his preference see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser.cache.check_doc_frequency

  • Create new version, checkout, checkin workflow not correct via abap

    Hey,
I wrote an abap programm with the following workflow:
    - I create a new version of the document CVAPI_DOC_CREATE_NEW_VERSION
    - I check out the new version with CVAPI_DOC_CHECKOUTMODIFY
    - I check in the file with the new content CVAPI_DOC_CHECKIN
And now there are 2 files in DMS with the same version. But there should be only one document with version 01.
The method CREATE_NEW_VERSION creates an dms document. But also the CVAPI_DOC_CHECKIN method creates an document in dms. But the checkin method should override the new version.
    Thanks for your support.
    BR,
    Christoph

    Hi Christoph,
unfortunately it is very hard to suggest a detailed solution for your individual program. Personally I would recommend you to
    use the following sequence:
    - I create a new version of the document CVAPI_DOC_CREATE_NEW_VERSION
    - BAPI_DOCUMENT_GETDETAIL2 to read out the current document data
    - I check out the new version with CVAPI_DOC_CHECKOUTMODIFY
    - BAPI_DOCUMENT_GETDETAIL2 to read out the current document data
    - I check in the file with the new content API_DOCUMENT_MAINTAIN2 or BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHANGE2.
If you enter the storage category in the table DOCUMENTFILES of the mentioned function modules the file should be
checked in again. For further information on the DMS BAPI behavior please see the attached documentation to SAP note 766277.
    Best regards,
    Christoph

  • There are no check or uncheck for the new version of iTunes?

I had just downloaded the new version of iTunes and i miss my old version. I don't see how you can check and uncheck a song to make it not play when your listening. My old version would skip the unchecked music and i miss that option. Is there an option on the new version that i'm not seeing or am i just going to have to delete them when i don't want to hear them?

In iTunes, go "Edit > Preferences". In the general tab, tick the "show list tickboxes" box, and click okay.
Have you got the wee boxes back now?

  • Error code -42408. I downloaded a newer version of iTunes, 10.7. Now it will not let me purchase anything. How do I fix? I have edited and revised all my names and account settings, checked payment. Quit, restarted. Help

I downloaded a newer version of iTunes, 10.7. Now it will not let me purchase anything. I get an error code -42408. What does this mean and how do I fix? I have edited and revised all my names and account settings, checked payment. Quit, restarted. Help please, I'm going crazy without my iTunes. I'm on a MacBook Pro.

Found this item it may help
OK, I have fixed it here. Here's what I did:
    quit iTunes
    trashed ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes.plist
started iTunes, and authorised my account
Worked straight away after that !

  • Why does a document tell me it needs to be opened in newer version of Pages yet when I check the Mac App store I already have it upgraded

I can't seem to open Pages documents and am told "You need a newer version of Pages to open this document" however, I have checked for upgrades in Mac App store and am told all apps are up to date.   When I open Pages and check "about Pages" it says I have 4.3.  What gives?

It sounds like you already have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Note: Apple has removed over 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

Perhaps check to see if you're accidentally running two different versions of iTunes. There's some information on troubleshooting that in the Opening iTunes section of the following document:

  • Checking for updates tells me that current version 17.0 is the latest when I know there is a new version. How do I update?

When I check for updates in Thunderbird, it tells me the version is 17.0 and that this is the latest version. I checked on the Mozilla website and the latest version to download is 24.5.0. How can I upgrade to the new version without having to download the entire program from scratch? I am running OS X 10.9.3
    Thanks

Why the objection to "downloading the whole program from scratch"?
How do you know this isn't what your Updates Manager does anyway?
If there is no update path using a patch from one version to another, then you ''have'' to download the installer for the newer version. In this case there would be no "upgrade" path; it would be a re-install.
It is an ongoing irritation with Thunderbird that occasionally there is a version change which the old version doesn't "see" and so you have to download the new version. Possibly this is deliberate to force a complete reinstallation rather than apply a patch, perhaps because there has been some fundamental change which is beyond the capability of a patch. In the past, some updates have changed the profile structure, and the new version of Thunderbird "knows" how to update the profile too.
But reinstalling "from scratch" is no big deal; your data is stored separately in Thunderbird's [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-tb?esab=a&s=profiles&r=1&as=s profile], which persists from one install to another. Indeed, you can uninstall Thunderbird, install a newer version at some later time, and it'll pick up your old profile and work as if nothing had happened.

  • How do I get to the Firefox equivalent of IE's "check for newer versions of stored pages" under tools, IE options

I need the firefox equivalent of Internet Explorer's (v8) "check for newer versions of stored pages under Tools, Internet Options, Browsing history. I cannot find where this would be in firefox and have an application that depends on seeing a "fresh" copy of a page each time it's served up by the web. Please advise.

You can find the tools under the Comments menu.

  • Checking for updates and downloading new versions of iTunes

When I open iTunes and check for udpates, I get a message saying; "A new version of iTunes is available. Would you like to download it now?" When I click Yes, nothing happens. To download the new version, I have to go to the Apple website and download it from there. Anyone have this problem and know how to fix it?

After downloading the new update on Saturday 11-27-10 my iphone now freezes up, I contacted the help line and they informed me for a "small fee" of $30.00 they would tell me how to fix it. WHAT?? The store recommends the updates and after loading the updates, my phone now wants to freeze up and stay frozen for 30 minutes and it is constantly asking me for my password and you want to charge me for a bug in your software?? I am soooo disappointed with I-tunes and after encouraging friends and family to buy this product I am now discouraging them!!!!

  • Check for new version of NM client

    Hello,
How can I check if there's a new version of NM client ?

I have the same question. How can I check which version is available? After the Nokia Messaging announce the new version 10.2, I trying to download from messaging.nokia.com, mail.nokia.com and Software Update but I can figure out that it is old version 10.1 only after I spent some time and $$ downloading version 10.1. BTW, where can I download version 10.2? I have a Nokia 5800 (s60 5th) but I always get only version 10.1!!??

  • Configurator won't check in devices ("Device running newer version")

We deployed ~400 iPads using Configurator in August. When iOS6 was released, students received pop up notices that they needed to upgrade their software (not to mention they knew that Siri was being added) so about 1/2 of them upgraded their iOS. Now, if I try to check them into the configurator so that I can refresh their iPads, I get the "Device running newer version" error message. Any ideas?

I have the responsibility in our school district for developing and testing user procedures for managing iPads in the schools using Configurator. We have 600 iPads being managed by Configurator on 16 sites.
We cannot find a way of restricting users (students or teachers) from updating the iOS while using the iPad. Any mis-match of iOS version means most Configurator functionality will no longer work. Refreshing a backup, installing a new profile, and using the Assign Checkin/Checkout ALL require iOS congruence. This occurs not just with major version changes, but also with the near-weekly iOS patches within a version.  "Device running newer version"  errors occur with a mismatch between 6.1.2 and 6.1.3.
This causes a lot of frustration and overhead in maintaining a standard image on the iPads. At worst, students lose their work if they cant check the device back in.
Ideally, we would like to control the timing of version updates. Is there a prescribed way to do this?

  • HT4972 On the iTunes device menu, I check for updates and it says 4.2.1 is up to date. How can I update to a newer version even if it says this?

On the iTunes device menu, I check for updates for my iPod Touch Gen 2 and it says it's up to date at 4.2.1. How can I update it to a newer version?

If you have a 2nd generation iPod, it up to date.
1st Gen up to iOS 3.1.3
2nd Gen up to IOS 4.2.1
3rd Gen up to IOS 5.1.1
4th Gen up to IOS 6

I recently updated my version of firefox and I got a message that my avast antivirus software was not supported by the new version of firefox. when I checked my avast it indicated that I was still protected. However, I've noticed that the avast is not downloading new antivirus signatures like it used to. Is my avast working?

You can look at the new pre-release version of Avast for Firefox 5.
