Do buttons and hyperlinks *have* to submit?

I have an application that uses javascript driven pop-up windows much like dialog boxes. In either a button or hyperlink component, I put the following in it's JavaScript onClick event:
window.open('faces/RoomList.jsp','ChangeRooms','width=755,height=530,scrollbars=yes,location=no,menubar=no,directories=no,status=no')That works fine, except that no matter what, the original form also gets submitted, albeit with a null navigation case so it just re-renders. Unfortunately, I don't want this behaviour on the original page since I do a certain amount of processing in the prerender method, which of course gets called when that original form is re-rendered as a result of the click that opens the JavaScript controlled pop-up!
Is there a way to get either a button or hyperlink to just open the pop-up and not submit the original page at all?

One other tidbit of interest (at least to the Creator team). Every time I use such a pop-up window, the following exception is recorded in the App Server logs. It doesn't seem to harm anything as it all works, but it's there every time.

Problems with Long Interactive PDFs with Extensive Interactivity via Buttons and Hyperlinks
I have inherited a project which requires the creation of large interactive pdfs with lots of buttons and hyperlinks. I am having continuing problems with buttons not working and long periods of wasted time as attempted exports fail.
Background:
The largest books range from 264 MB to 411 MB – (764 to 1024 pages). Per book, the maximum number of buttons on each page is 16, linking separate files (subsections) in the book via text anchors. The buttons are created using Master Pages which are set for each file (subsection) in the book. 50% to 60% of the pages in each file (subsection) will also be referenced as 2 hyperlinks. One is the source page hyperlink on each workflow and the second is a listing on the source page as a possible navigation path. I have created hyperlink destinations for each page which is used to generate the source and navigation hyperlinks. With 2 hyperlinks representing 50%-60% of the pages - that means the largest book contains a maximum of 1200 hyperlinks. Each file (subsection) also has it’s own separate TOC and the bookmarks that are created (optionally) during the TOC creation process. As currenlty formatted, the book is primarily images of workflows which mean 50%-60% of the pages contain pdf images.
Several questions:
1. How do I get my buttons to work consistently? There is nothing worse than working hard and then ending up with faulty product. I have been thinking about combining all the files into 1 document per book. Then I could change the buttons to objects, add a hyperlink over each one and set them for a specific hyperlink destination. Can I do that if the buttons are on Master Pages? Can InDesign handle a document with 1024 pages? I can't fix the problems in Acrobat later because it would mean 1024 fixes for just 1 button correction.
2. How do I stop InDesign from freezing when exporting these large pdfs? It seems to wait until the final steps to crash which sometimes means a 4-6 hour waste of time per export.
3. Are we making a mistake using pdfs as our workflow images? I'm not pleased with the quality of the images we have and wonder if we switched to another image format if this would improve the results. Would it be worth the effort and relinking? I have been reading different information on what the preferred source image format is for InDesign. One article I found yesterday says using pdf images is a problem. Another site said the Photoshop, TIF and JPG are preferred but PDFs were also acceptable.
4. Do I need to propose scrapping InDesign as the source of the project? If so, what application can better meet my needs?Those are the limitations you have to put up with.
Apple doesn't follow the PDF spec. It chooses which PDF features it will support.
As to the version number (v5 or v6 or the new multimedia features in v9), there is different support in different versions of Reader/Acrobat as the product has developed. You just need to post a message to downloaders that they need to view the file in Adobe Reader version X or above to get the best experience.
Other industry standards face the same problem: How can you add new feature like multimedia? You can't always be backwards compatible. -
In CC214 PS Why has adobe removed the "print Size Button" And why have they made the Brush preview window so small you can't see the effects to accurately adjust them?
These two things need to be remedied in their upgrades because It's become such a bother I've had to revert to older versions of PS.Yea, and it's a pain to get to. What was the rational for removing the print size button? With the magnifying glass tool selected in older versions of Photoshop you would get a button that says "print size" right next to Actual pixels, Fit Screen, Fill Screen. Now I have to go out of my way and dig for it if I want to see the print size. Of all the buttons you could have taken away, why not fill screen? I never use that.
Besides the point I just downloaded the Oct Upgrade for PS and surprise! Nothing has changed and these are two big black eyes on newer versions of Photoshop. The Brush preview window is unchanged in CC but in CC2014 it's basically worthless. If you apply a texture to a brush you can't properly see the scale of the texture, the spacing, scatter, etc... -
When i placed a AccessKey to Submit Button (Eg: AccessKey="S"), and pressed Shift + Alt + S, the focus is going to Submit button and as well as Submit operation is also performed. Is this the expected behaviour in FireFox for AccessKeys
What were you expecting when using an accesskey?

Can anyone advise...
Cannot download Mountain Lion after purchasing from Apple online. Mountain Lion icon is now permanently 'paused' in the dock. The Purchase page has the download but no resume button. I have enter the code again but it cannot be redeemed again. I have signed in and out again from the tab at the top of the page.
I have spoken to Apple for two evenings now. Last attempt was to bypass the Mountain Lion and download Mavericks overnight but nothing downloaded.
I have checked the internet connection and all is well.
Any ideas how to progress... I have an appointment to take in to Apple on Monday...Have you tried to resume the download using Launch Pad? The icon should be in your Dock.
If that doesn't help ...
Apps such as Little Snitch, Growl, and MacKeeper can prevent apps from downloading
Disable anti virus software if installed
Make sure the firewall is turned off in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall
Make sure Gatekeeper is enabled
Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy then select the General tab.
Make sure either Mac App Store or Mac App Store and identified developers is selected.
If that area is grayed out, click the padlock icon to proceed.

my client wants to add audio to their banner ad (which always has a full stage clickTAG set). I'm trying to figure out a way to just use a simple play/pause button and attach a toggle action to it. Problem is when the user clicks it's going to the clickTAG URL that's attached to the full stage. Is there any way around this?
Please advise and thank you in advance.I have the same issue. It is pretty annoying but at least the audio remains within the motion project. It just isn't accessible it seems as an FCPX template. So what I'm doing is this:
I still use the video within FCPX's generator section so that you can edit the parameters as you need to
For the audio, open the project in motion then under Share, click 'Export Audio'. Select 'CAF' format and save to your hard disk
I then import the audio file into an event I set up specifically for this purpose (per BenB's suggestion).
When I need it, I then insert the generator from the generators section and then attach the audio file below the primary story line for the audio track
It isn't pretty but it works. -

I watched a tutorial earlier today showing that Buttons can be interactive within a iPad app, but I cannot get my app to have working buttons.
When I view a preview with the SWF preview everything works ok. But when I view with the folio preview/ on my iPad, it does not work.
Also I wanted to have the hyperlinks outlined with a gray color, which I did when I created the Hyperlink through the options, but it is also not showing up when I actually add an article and preview my app. I am thinking it is a similar issue.
Does the folio app not support interactive PDFs properties?
Please help!That's a decent training video, but the guy really shouldn't use the SWF Preview panel to preview DPS content, especially not without mentioning its limitations. He should have chosen File > Folio Preview or clicked the Preview button at the bottom of the Overlays panel. The SWF Preview panel happens to work with some DPS features such as buttons, but it's for SWF, not DPS.

Document with submit button, and signature with second submit button
I have a form that is filled out by one person who submits the completed form to his/her manager. When that manager signs the form, he/she also clicks a radio button either approved or not approved.
When I test this form and click not approved the following message is displayed:
GeneralError: Operation failed.
XFAObject.rawValue:1:XFA:form1[0]:#pageSet[0]:Page1[0]:PageCount[0]:ready
Property: 'rawValue' cannot be set because doing so would violate this document's permissions settings.
I'm not sure how to troubleshoot since I don't know where this is coming from.

MDawnDoes this error only occur after signing? If so, you may have locked down the field you are now trying to modify. Check the "Lock Fields After Signing" option in the Object Palette.

I got the iphone 5 six months ago. The lock button broke two months ago so I went to apple and got a new one. My lock button just recently broke so can I go get another phone seeing that it is still within the first year? Or will they not give me another one seeing I already got a new one? I've had the phone for six months and the lock button has already broke twice.

Hey Larry, I had the same problem when I down loaded Fire Fox 4.0! Go to the upper left corner of the screen. Is there a small red box with an arrow that says Fire Fox? Left click there and a new menu drops down. Go to Options DO NOT CLICK!, scroll over to Menu Bar and left click on it and the red box goes away and leaves all the options your looking for! To remove it back to the other way, left click on Views, scroll down to Toolbars, DO NOT CLICK!, scroll over to Menu Bar and click on that and it will revert to the original set, with red Fire Fox bar in corner again! Look for the Airplay symbol in iTunes.
Airplay "mirroring" requires Mountain Lion, or higher. -
Any tips for ensuring that checkboxes and hyperlinks work in ePubs?
Can anyone help and give tips on how to get the check box buttons and hyperlinks to work when exporting to ePub? I must be missing something but no matter what I do they will not work when exported to ePub from InDesign CC (current version). I have to make these work for a book that's going on sale by the weekend, so any help will be gratefully received!
Fixed or Reflowable EPUB?
Fixed Layout EPUB in the current version (InDesign CC 2014) cannot represent text-based hyperlinks. It's a limitation until the next version.
There is no support for PDF forms in EPUB (checkbox buttons). -

I have tried it using the following code but its not running on eclipse I have no idea what "not running" means, but I'm assuming you are having trouble reading the image files.
Read the section from the Swing tutorial on [How to Use Icons|http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/TOC.html] for the proper way to read images so that is works in all environments. -
Hi experts,
I have a requirement where I must create a new button in a powl, no problem here, and when I press this button, I have to generate a warning popup which has yes/no buttons.
I have created the button and I have generated the popup, but It is impossible to me customize popup's header, buttons and functionality of them.
Should I create an enhancement in standard comp POWL_TABLE_COMP?
I am a bit lost with this.

In Employee Self Service tab we have POWL table view where list of Shopping Cart number are available,right?
In this screen we have "Shop"/"Display"/"Edit"/"Print Preview" buttons.
My issue is when i click on "Display" or "Edit" button it's opening the Portal Home Page, i.e. the First page we are getting after login to Portal.
In the Manager tab we are also getting the same issue..when we are clicking on any of Work items it is redirecting to Home Page..also "Resubmit" and "Forward Button" is a doing the same thing...
hope you'll be now able to understand the issue....
Experts please help...badly stuck in this issue..

How to I export a primary representation of approx 5mb?
