Do we still have device specific APIs for MIDP2.0 phones?

Hi everyone,
When I was doing MIDP 1.0 coding, I know there is NokiaUI available to implement full screen canvas etc for Nokia phones
It seems using MIDP 2.0, full screen canvas can be achieved by setFullScreenMode(true).
My question is:
On MIDP2.0 phones, what profile level device specific APIs are available for Nokia or any other phones?
Could an API guru out there shed some lights here?

Still have some configuration questions for SSD/HDDs and Pr Pro (laptop)

So I recently asked a question regarding configurations for a new Toshiba Qosmio (being delivered in 2 days) I've done a lot of reading and have become somewhat more educated and somewhat more confused. I'm having the X70-ABT3G22 custom built with an i7-4700MQ, a 256GB mSATA SSD, 2 matching 500GB (7200rpm Serial-ATA) HDDs, a 3GB GeForce GTX 770M, and 32GB DDR3L 1600MHZ SDRAM.
It was suggested that I RAID 0 the 2 HDDs, which sounds like a great idea. My question then, is the configuration of Premiere Pro with the - now 2 drives left. I was reading about disk set-up on http://ppbm7.com/index.php/tweakers-page/84-disk-setup/95-disk-setup which was very informative. But the information there suggests that if I have 2 drives, I should consider adding a 3rd.
At this point, there's no room for a third internal drive because the 2 have been striped to make 1, The SSD is obviosly for the OS and programs. And if Premier Pro functions more efficiently by spreading the workload over at least 3 disks, would I be better off by not striping the 2 matching HDDs and spreading the workload out? Or should I stripe the 2 internal drives and use a USB 3.0 flash drive for the previews, media cache, or exports? Or stripe the 2 HDDs and just work with the 2 internal drives without anything external? I'm looking for suggestions from you guys for the best way to configure this particular set-up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Serioulsy.

I do not know if a USB3 RAID box would be any better than my simple experiment that I tried. See my thread for item 2 in the first post. I bought a 2 1/2" external enclosure which I researched extensively for what sounded like it had an optimized SATA III to USB3 interface. I put one of the fastest SSD drives I am aware of (Samsung 840 Pro 256 GB) in it to see what the performance would be. When I put this SSD in my laptop directly on an internal SATA III with my PPBM6/7 benchmark it gives me a Premiere write transfer rate of almost 500 MB/second. When I put the same drive in the external USB3 enclosure the Premiere write transfer is limited to slightly less than 200 MB/second which probably better than a most hard disk drives, but now where near taking advantage of the speed capability.
The answer to your question is yes, you can use an external hard drive RAID enclosure effectively but do not expect much more speed from that device. You will have more reliability if you set it up for the right RAID mode. Using hard drives you will have much greater capacity than SSD's offer. The only disadvantages with a large multidisk USB3 enclosure is you will always have to have another AC cord to plugin and dragging a large disk enclosure around is a pain. The small 2 1/2" enclosure above is self powered and highly portable.
Do not believe many of the advertised read/write rates of these USB3 devices, specifically the write rates are not what you can achive in real life applications.
I just checked and your Toshiba laptop does not have eSATA so I think you are limited to only USB3 peripherals.

Correct me if I'm wrong - Even though ODI touts the ability to have one set of code for various physical environments, it doesn't make moving from say DEV to TEST any much easier.
What I mean to say is, even if I create 'InterfaceA' under the Logical Schema 'Phase1' and my Context is 'DEV' pointing to the Physical Schema for 'Development Data Server'; when I want to chance the Context to say 'TEST', I have to go into 'InterfaceA' and make that change to Context 'TEST'.
Now, I have to do this for 'InterfaceA' through 'InterfaceXY' and so on for each Package, Scenario, Procedure and so on.
Point being, there's not centralized mechanism to change all the Contexts for all the objects - therefore this functionality is nothing great.
Might as well copy all the objects to a New Repository and change the Contexts there. Have a Master Rep for each DEV, TEST and PROD.

What you need to do is ensure that you don't explicitly specify the context inside your ODI objects such as the interfaces. There is a setting called Execution Context which is what should be selected. Then when you execute your ODI scenarios you choose the execution context and this will be applied to all objects in the execution cycle

I was going through the APIs for MIDP 1.0, and wasnt able to find any functions which I can use for interacting with the phone stuff. For example, some of the stuff that I would like to do is:
(1) Add contact info. to the phone book.
(2) Read the contacts info.
(3) Set an image as the screen saver / background image
(4) Set a new ringtone
(5) Access the Messages Inbox (and also the pictures stored).
I was hpoing someone could tell me which classes I should be looking at, or whether I am looking at the wrong API set.

if you know your target device you should check the vendor's developer website. many vendors have vendor specific extensions that enable access to PIM functions.

Device Channel Rules for All mobile phones and Tablets?

I am developing master pages for different devices, my target is to develop different master page for Desktop, Mobile phones and Tablet.
Default device channel works for desktops, “$FallbackMobileUserAgent" works for both mobile phones and tablets but I want to design different master
page for all tablets.
Is there any fall back rule that targets all tablets? and any rule that targets mobile phones only?
Update: I found "ipad" and "iphone" inclusion rule works across all apple devices.

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to create rule that targets mobile phones or tablets only.
Per my knowledge, channels control which master page is used to show your site on for example iPhone or iPad. Channels are bound to master pages, and channels are bound to user agent string of device in use (phone, tablet or PC).
You need to supply different user agent substrings and order of device channels.

This is simply a public forum, NOT CS. If you want a faster response, you should call CS, but it is doubtful you will get a refund.
Are all 9 amounts the same? If so, you should contact your banking institution or CC whichever provided the funds and report that these are duplicate transactions. It is more likely you will have a better chance of getting the money back going thru your financial institution.

Our family now has 7 devices, Ipad, Ipad mini, itouch. I am not sure if I am setting them up correctly to share Icloud and app's but to each have there own device name and apple id for mail, messageing and facetime.

As randers4 says, use separate AppleIDs for iCloud and iMessage accounts. You cannot "share iCloud" and have separate mail, messaging and facetime. To get those, you need to use separate AppleIDs to each create your own iCloud account and your own iMessage account.
You can share apps and other purchased content by having a common AppleID used in the iTunes and App store.

How can I have user specific filters for information display on portlet?

Hello Everyone !!!!!
I am new to the Portlet World
My query is..
How can I have filters on a portlet screen ?
I want to display certain information on a portlet which must be filtered and ordered.
Example:
In Internet Banking , I want to display transfers which had happened in the last month. So I ( as a user ) will keep this predefined somewhere may be in portletData.
Whenever that user logs in for the next time, he will be able to view account transfers taken place in the lastest month only.
This must be user specific. As another user can keep the setting in a different way. That is he/she might want to view account transfers for the last week only.
When user clicks on a button a new screen( filter screen ) is loaded where he need to enter the dates of From and To .....
The user saves this.....( may be in portletdata)
So that when he logs in .. next time screen loads with the defined settings in filter....
Any idea ? How can this be achieived ?

Okay, that makes sense. While it may not work on your particular provider, the phone will work with another SIM. You will not incur charges with that, but as I indicated earlier, all of your content is available on the device for the thief to view. Unless there is anything they can use, they will more than likely wipe the device clean and just use it themselves.
