Document access: migrating from ERP database to SAP doc server

We have some documents created via Easy DMS stored in our ERP database and wish to now use SAP Document Server.
For the legacy documents in ERP database, will I be able to still view and edit them, or do I need to migrate all of them to the SAP Document Server?

In simple terms... here we go
Before BO acquisition by SAP,
SAP BI : SAP BW ( for all ETL tasks) + BEX Query ( For Reporting purpose )
After BO acquisition :
SAP BI : SAP BW ( for al ETL tasks ) + BEX Query + Business Objects
Now SAP is trying to use BO as reporting solution for all SAP BI projects.

Follow up document in CRM and ERP

Hi Experts,
My requirement is that when a service order is created in CRM , on line item level, a corresponding Service Notification (IW51) is to be created in ERP.
Please suggest the available design options to achieve this functionality.

In some cases like ;; from Lead to Opportunity , you will see create opportunity on the toolbar. but, some cases like custom made transactions you wont have visibility of these transactions as a follow-up
for this you will have to add a button to toolbar button, and also the logic behind it. Most of the cases portal guys will do this

Follow-up Activities for ERP Order (ERP_H)

Hello,
is it possible to create follow-up activities for documents which are in ERP (not CRM).
For example for the quotations and sales orders which are visible in CRM using component ERP_H?
Is anybody using such a scenario of CRM activities for ERP quotations / orders?

It is possible to create follow-up activities for documents which are in ERP (not CRM) like the ERP Sales Order as a Standard functionality, meaning the Activities in CRM can be created as a follow up document to ERP sales order.
Assign the Channel Interaction Center WebClient to the transaction type (Activities) in SPRO and you will see the follow up activity to the ERP Sales order
Is anybody using such a scenario of CRM activities for ERP quotations / orders?
--> We have a scenario to create an activity from ERP order. I assigned the channel as mentioned above and I can see the follow up activity to ERP sales Order.

Cluster for SAP ERP 6.0

Hi,
My enterprise plans to use SAP ERP 6.0. System will it is torn on a cluster from 2 nodes. As OS we plan to use Windows 2008 R2. For cluster development I use the document "Installation Guide SAP ERP 6.0 - EHP4 Ready ABAP on Windows: Oracle
(Based on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 including Enhancement Package 1) ".
In chapter 7.3.4"Installing the Central Services Instance for ABAP (ASCS)" for creation of cluster group it is underlined:
k) Right-click the service and application SAP <SAPSID>.
l) Choose Add a resource Add File Server.
m) Double-click New File Server.
n) In the New File Server Properties window, change the Resource Name from New File Server into SAP <SAPSID> FileServer.
Problems in that in the parameter list "Add File Server" in the menu "Add a resource" is not present. The server possesses such role, nevertheless "Add File Server" in the list misses.
How to me in that case to fulfill requirements on creation service and application SAP <SAPSID>?
P.S. All updates on ноды a cluster are installed

I'm afraid that you have used Windows Server 2008 R2 which is yet to be supported by SAP ([Reference|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=1383873]).
Check whether you have the cluster configured at the OS level and also check whether you are able to resolve the IP address of the cluster nodes from your virtual host.
If needed get help from your network admin and carry out the necessary checks for a clustered environment at the OS/network level.

Error on Flexible Performance Management Appraisal Document

Hello Experts,
We are in the process of building Performance Management using Enhancement Package 4 in ECC 6.0. I am having issues with getting the Appraisal Document to work for MSS. Just to clarify too, I have no experience with Performance Management and the fact that we are using Enhancement package 4, our Functional consultants are not sure what to expect either. One more thing, the SICF service is activated.
*) When trying to preview the Appraisal Document (com.sap.pct.erp.mss.hap_document), I am receiving a Portal Run Time error.
*) When I go into SE80, I am using Package u2018PAOC_HAP_DOCUMENT_WD_UIu2019 to run a test on Web Dynpro Application HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT, I am receiving u2018Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible.u2019
*) When I go into SE80, I am using Package u2018PAOC_HAP_DOCUMENT_WD_UIu2019 to run a test on Web Dynpro Configuration HAP_AC_MAIN_DOC, I am receiving u201Cu2018Error in Calling Up Applicationu2019 The Web Dynpro application was called up with the wrong URL parametersu201D.
QUESTIONS:
1) Do I have to implement Generic Performance Management (com.sap.pct.erp.mss.14.generic_performance_management) to call the appraisal document?
2) Is there any special configuration that needs to be done to make the HAP_MAIN_DOC work (portal or R/3)?
3) Do I need to manually create an SICF service for this?
4) Is there any documentation on how to implement the Flexible?
Any direction would be appreciated.

I copied the Iview Generic Performance Management (com.sap.pct.erp.mss.14.generic_performance_management) with Application Name 'HAP_START_PAGE_POWL_UI_MSS' and the Application Configuration Name 'HAP_START_PG_POW_MSS_AC'.
Activated the SICF services of 'hap_main_document', 'HAP_START_PG_POW_MSS_AC', 'HAP_START_PAGE_POWL_UI_MSS. Also, I would activate the services that begin with 'HAP' that l thought that I would need.
In SE80, there are 2 locations to find these Applications: 1) Web Dynpro Comp./Intf. = FPM_OIF_COMPONENT and 2) Package = PAOC_HAP_DOCUMENT_WD_UI.
As for the notes, we are on SAPK-60420INEAHRGXX, these are the notes that we applied:
1468466 - PM Launchpad Config
1463821 - PM Portal Config
1416756 - OBN Config in PM
1408243 - Config for OBN

Document splitting with constants

We are working on a document splitting project on ERP 2005.
Most of the config has been done and we are now testing.
The only scenario that is not working is where a profit center value is not entered in the journal but derived through a constant.
I have created a constant Z001, for a PC in the only Controlling Area.
There is no problem with the GL account, the account type, splitting rule, transaction and variant.
At GL view PC is a required field and in the constant rule I have created I have assigned a PC say 1000. When I post my journal it says
Balancing field "Profit Center" in line item 001 not filled
I can confirm the splitting method has the constant in it and inheritance ticked.
What have I missed?

In first line item you enter the Profit Center in Profit center field.
And I am trying to do this document splitting, everything i configured and posted the document, but when i view in GL a/c view it is not showing the splitting mode. So if u got the correct result then
Please send the documentation with step by step process and how to enter the data in the system.

Multiple physical inventory document active for same material-storage locat

hi experts,
I am using transaction code MI31 for creating physical inventory document for all materials at a particular warehouse(storage location). User is selecting direct generation of of PI documents in the transaction. If by mistake he presses execute button more than once system is creating as many copies of physical inventory documents. As per ERP system logic it sound very wrong to have multiple physical inventory document active for same material-storage location ( no batches or special stocks exist ).
Is there a message number or some standard setting to prevent such occurrence.

Syetem won't create again physical inventory document, if allready PI is active for the same part number, plant, storage location & batch/valuation type.

Dear All,
I have few doubts on ERP Integrator.
1) What are things required from Oracle GL to Planning for Data Loading using ERP Integrator? (Trail Balance is enough or we required some other file from Oracle GL)
2) Is there any scheduling options available for Data loading using ERP Integrator?
3) what is process for loading the data to Planning using ERP Integrator?
4) How we load the data to Planning? (i.e. monthly load, hourly load)
Is there any document is available for ERP Integrator in detail?

We are currently on 4.6C and have a separate installation of WAS 6.40 with SAP portal for our MSS and are looking in doing the SAP upgrade.

mySAP ERP 2007 is a long way off and, to be realistic, should not figure in your upgrade plans at this time since so little is known about it, including the functional scope and the target release dates. mySAP ERP 2005 (of which ECC 6.0 is the primary component) has exited Ramp-Up and will ship next week, June 6.
Since SAP stopped publishing Development News, obtaining a good high-level understanding of the functionality "delta" between two releases is somewhat more problematic. You could take a look at the Release Notes (help.sap.com -> mySAP ERP -> ECC 6.0 -> SAP ERP Central Component -> Release Notes) to find a list of the new functionality in ECC 6.0 over ECC 5.0, but be forwarned that the Release Notes are quite voluminous and can take a long time to wade through.
Generally speaking, at this point in time you should strongly consider ECC 6.0 over ECC 5.0, due to the extra functionality as well as the extended maintenance window.

Please help me in this regardWhat all you have studied is basics. And in the institutes they only teach you 5% of actual work, Yes only 5%. They can not teach the whole 5 years learning just in few classes.
In real time When you are working as a technical consultant, you get to speak to functional consultants a lot of time for developing reports, customization, creating custom forms.... So thats why the interviewer has asked a mixture of both technical and functional.
The questions they asked also depends on the number of years experience you have in the resume ;).
How ever you can gain more knowledge from blogs and forums like this.
