Document Search (how to do?)

I would like to create a report to enable a user to search through documents posted in content areas.
EG: the user can enter a string and the report would return the URL of all the documents which contain that string in the document name, or better yet in the document contents
Any suggestions on how to do this? Thanks

We have 3.0983 and it has a "Search" portlet to search within content areas
More questions .. sorry if they are stupid
- where can I find documentation on this portlet
- I saw it searches on the document name, description, etc. Can it search through the document content itself?
- Can the output be restricted depending on the content areas that the user has access to?
- We have various areas organized by tabs. Can the search output be redirected to those tabs (and not the "search results" page which has the Oracle tabs Items Folders Categories etc)

CRM 5.0, can easily add documents in the ICWC under the Document Search or gui t-code CRM_KW but the linkage is to me. How can I change or create the link to to "ALL" so all users can find them in the search.

Just to clarify for other readers, I assume you are referring to the document search functionality in the Interaction Center that uses Content Management to search for documents and link them to the current business transaction, the current account (business partner) or the current agent/user?
I am not aware of any out of the box method for linking a document to all CRM users or agents. But if you want to have a look around at the code, I think the class and methods you might want to start with class CL_CRM_IC_CUCOCM_IMPL method REGISTER_*.
Maybe someone else has an idea how to link multiple users/agents (e.g. all users belonging to a particular org unit or profile) at once, instead of only linking the current user/agent?

IC Webclient: document search not showing documents for contacts

Hi,
I am working with SAP CRM 4.0, SP7.
I have created an account(a001) with three contacts(c001, c002, c003). I have attached a document(d001) to account a001 and two documents(d002, d003) to contact c001.
Now when I open the IC-Web client UI and go to 'Identify Account' and enter a001 in the Account ID and do a search account, I see three contacts(c001, c002, c003) in the result list of account. When I click in the contact(c001) and go to 'Document Search', it shows only documents attached to a001 and there is no way I can see the documents attached to c001.
Can anyone please let me know, how do I see the documents attached to contact c001 in this case?
Please note that if I enter c001 in the Account ID of 'Identify Account' and then go to 'Document Search', then it shows me the documents d002 and d003. But, I want to see the contacts documents entering from accounts.

Document search, search for documents and letters

CRM 5.0 - ICWC
In a serviceticket in the business context there are a few files, documents, emails and letters.
Documents -> uploaded manualy
Emails -> created after reply or new email
Letter -> Created by merge-documents
In the menu 'Document Search' you can search for all attached documents which belongs to the serviceticket. However, only the document types are found.
Anyone some tips how to add the option to find the letter documents?

#1. Per my knowledge, anonymous access cannot be granted at item level.
If we need to allow anonymous access to items or documents in the lists or libraries, the anonymous access should be granted at list/library level.
#2. To exclude the list items and documents from libraries, I recommend to create search scope to exclude those contents.
Remember to select Exclude as the Behavior in the search scope.

Document Search - ship to address search help

All,
We are extended classic scenario (7.01 SP 10).
When we go to Document Search - for Purchase Orders and we pick Ship To Address - it provides us with a list of all the ship to addresses - instead of allowing us to enter some selection criteria. When I click on Product Category it allows us to enter search criteria as you can see from the print screen below. For Ship To Address - it provides the list of all plants instead of a pop-up box to narrow down the search. How do we get a search help for the Ship To Address?

i do not understand your issue.
In SRM standard, for SC or PO, search-help is available to look for delivery address
Shopping Cart:
Purchase Order:
You can find which search-help is used in the Web Dynpro Component context.
It is BBP_BUPA_CLL_PARTNER for PO and BBP_ADDR_BUPA_SHIPTO for SC.

Hello Priya,
Knowledge Search is used to search for solutions to problems using the Software Agent Framework (SAF) to search against the Solution Database (SDB) or other knowledge repositories that you configure (such as Case Management or Service Tickets).
The Document Search is for searching for related documents that might be linked to the confirmed account using Content Management.
You can find detailed information and configuration instructions in the online help.

i need a filter in the generic document search of by B2B internet sales shop. The user should be only allowed to find documents starting with "xy" in the reference numbers. I know that I simply have to edit the generic-searchbackend.xml, but how?

ICWC Document Search - Archive Link - OA_FIND

CRM 50.
We use SAP archive link to store smartforms and scanned in documents to the order in ECC. (scanned in PO for example)
In CRM we set up t-code OA_FIND where it can find the documents in ECC. (business object = VBAK)
if we open order in ICWC, the document search for that order number does not find any of the documents in SAP Archive Link. This would be a huge win if we could figure out how to integrate this.
IMG t-code OAC0 has 2 respositories we are using. One is set to Document Area ARCHLINK and one is set to Document Area CRM Documents. Only the CRM documents are ever "found" in the ICWC search.
I tried setting up t-code OACT to have a category look at each repository but doesn't work.
Can ICWC document search find documents in the Archive Link?????

Document display in IC web... Document search view

Hi,
Please help me with the following requuirement..
Is it possible to display a document by clicking on the document in results view of document search IC web view ? If yes,, is it standard or is that a custom development ? Please guide me..
Also, we have an option for choosing a document and navigating to email view by clicking on the email and it would pick the chosen document as an attachment.. I want to be able to view the doucment there.. when I click on the document a blank interner explorer window opens up... I tested it for MSword and MS excel files.. Can someone please help me how I can get this working ?

Hello Andi,
if you choose the letter creation with templates created and stored in the SAP-System, you can save them directly into the SAP-System.
You have create those templates under IMG/CRM/Basic Functions/Content Management/Define Document Templates.
There you can assign/create templates to a Businessobject. In the Webclient just add the entry letter to your Navigation Bar and choose "use external editor" for letter items.
In the webclient you choose the entry letter, and than a template with "create letter". You have to identify a business partner before. But be aware that your security-settings for the IE are set like mentioned in SAP-Note 635049. Now you can store those letters with the save-button of the webclient-interface direct to the system/defined Archive.

Documents Search

Hi,
I configured EP with TREX6.0, but I could not able search document through TREX document search function.
<b>I done the following configuration steps:</b>
I configured a File Repository, I am able to access files through document iView.
I created an index and assign the file repository to the index.
I configured the TREX client in J2EE TREX Service.
somehow when I search the documents, it does not get any documents, it is just giving message <b>"No match have been found"</b>
Can anybody tell me where I am missing.

Hi Srinivas,
could you please go to "System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Index Administration" and do a "Reindex" of your created index? Than you should check if there is a problem crawling the documents or indexing the documents:
1. Go to "System Administration -> Monitoring -> Knowledge Management -> Crawler Monitor". After less than one minute you should see how many documents were found and "Delivered" by the crawling process (Show Last Hour)
2. Got to "System Administration -> Monitoring -> Knowledge Management -> TREX Monitor -> Display Queues" and check the status of your documents. They should be on "To Be Transmitted". Go to -> "Change Queue Status" mark your index and press "Flush". Check again "Display Queues" and your documents should be on "OK".
Now the search should find the documents. If you documents are on "Preparation Failed" or "Synchronization Failed" you should check -> "Display Queue Entries" and see the "Return Message".

Go to Settings>General>Usage. How much space does it show you have?
If you connect your phone to your computer, what does iTunes say is on your phone? Do you see a large amount of "Other"? If so, you may have a corrupted database. You'll need to sync your phone then restore it as NEW (not from back up) then re-sync your data).

In the invoice document if you have the material number, MATNR, then take that and using that you can get the MATKL from the MARA table.

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Pages 5 can not open Pages 5.1 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Note: Apple has removed over 90 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

I was working on a project and I closed it after saving and closed photoshop. Then later when I came to make another adjustment to my PSD I opened the file and it said "Could not complete your request because it is not a valid Photoshop document." How can I fix this? Okay, I just talked to the person that originated the document.
When this usually happens to me, it's because I've done something stupid like saved a .jpeg as a .psd. So that's what I tried. I tried a few other extensions as well, so I thought that it was not an extension problem. Well, the originator told me it had originally been a TIFF, which was the ONE FILE EXTENSION I DIDN'T TRY. :\
Anyway, that fixed it. Usually this error indicates either a corrupt file or the wrong extension, just in case anyone ever digs this convo up later.
