Document type with automatic posting

Good day to everyone!!
Is it possible that i can create a document type with automatic posting such that i do not have to input same entries everytime i transact or enter an invoice in FB60?

Thanks again Ajay!
But the recurring entry transaction asks for a run date. Here is my scenario:
Invoices come randomly, everytime i receive 1, i have encode all entries for that particular invoice.
What i want is, can i make a template wherein i just have to call that template so that i won't have to encode again and again the gl entries. all i gotta do is encode the amount.  this way i will be able to perform my task faster and i can efficiently do other things.
by the way, what is a  z report? is it the lsmw?

  • POSTING WITH A DOCUMENT TYPE WITH DIFFERENT EXCHANGE RATE TYPES

    Hi there,
We have different company codes in the same client. These companies are situated in various countries.
I like to use the same document type with several exchange types M and X(specific for countries). Posting in MM and SD are ok by defining a exchange rate to master records of customers and vendors. Unfortunately I could not find a way to post documents from FI using the same document type.
    Is it possible and how?
    Thank you,
    melike

    Hi,
In accounting editing options (Transaction code FB00) - in the tab Document entry - there is an option to select the check box Exchange Rate from first line item. If this is selected, the exchange rate entered manually in the first line item will be copied in the header automatically. This could be one of the options you can consider.
However, the hitch is it involves manual entry which could result in human errors.
    Thanks
    Murali.

  • Document type with posting level 12 not being carryforward

    Hi gurus,
We are now implementing SEM-BCS 6.0 in the BI 7.0 server.
We have a document type u201CMIu201D which properties are:
    Posting level: 12
Balance check: 0 error when balance note equal to zero
    Application: Other
    Posting: Manual posting
    Inversion: No automatic inversion
The problem is that when we execute the Balance Carryforward in the subsequent year this is the only document type that is not being carryforward.
    Why is this happening?
    Thanks for your help.
    Best regards.

    This is by design

"Data records for preparatory postings for consolidation group changes are neither translated nor carried forward."
    I'll try an example...
Company A is sold from company 1 to company 2 in June (EoP)
    For periods 0 - 6:
BCS reports company A's balance sheet under company 1
BCS reports company A's income statement under company 1
    starting period 7
BCS reports company A's balance sheet under company 2
    BCS reports company A's 0 - 6 income statement under company 1
BCS reports company A's 7 income statement under company 2
this is managed through the posting level 02 12 and 22 document types, as well as PL30 if using CoI.
Assuming the period of first consolidation and period of divestiture were set correctly in the groups for company 1 and company 2, BCS wants to read all 0 - 6 data under group 1 and all 7 + data under group 2.  This is obviously incorrect from an accounting standpoint and the PCC postings correct that.
So BCS books a PL02/12/22 in group 1 to zero out the balance sheet.  It then books another set of entries in group 2 to write up the entire balance sheet in the new group.
However, once you get to the end of the year and run your BCF, the entire balance sheet is now sitting in period 0. The system is able to report company A's balance sheet under group 2 withou the aid of the PCC documents.  Therefore, the system does not roll these documents forward into the new year.
The PCC documents were only required because of the periodic nature of the BCS data storage vs. the LTD nature of the balance sheet for reporting.  Once the full LTD balance is available in a single period, as is the case just after a BCF, the PCC documents are no longer required.
Anyway, hope that made some sense.  If not, I'd encourange you to create an Excel sheet replicating how BCS stores the data in the cube, perfrom a divestiture, and see why the system is not carrying forward the documents.  This is how I came to understand it.
Now, if you're doing something "non-standard" with the PL12, all bets are off
    Good luck,
    Chris

  • Document Type with a later posting date

    Hi,
    We are on SAP B1 2005 PL50.
We occasionally get the message " There is a document of this type with a later posting date" while posting AP invoices. It happens to some AP invoices only because other invoices get added even though the document is posted with a prior posting date then what is in existence
Please advice, what could be causing this.
    Thanks
    Asif

    Hi Mohamed,
If there is a document existing in the database with a posting date later
than the current one, this system message will pop up.
This system message works based on the following setting:
Under Administration -> System Initialisation -> Document Settings ->
Tab 'General' is a tickbox 'Block Documents with Earlier Date'.
If this box is ticked, the error message 'There is a document of this
type  with a later posting date.' is received and the document
cannot be added. This affects the following documents:
    - AR and AP Invoice
    - AR and AP Credit Memo
    - AR and AP Reserve Invoice
If the box is unticked, the system displays the message: 'There is a
document of this type with a later posting date. CONTINUE or
CANCEL.' If 'Continue' is chosen, the document can be added.
It is not possible to turn this off message.
    Hope it helps.

  • Cutover from manual document type to automatic document type

Hi, has anyone ever cut over from manual to automatic document type?
(I have seen the opposite, where an automatic document type becomes manual. It was successful)
Eg in a data migration, to populate some interunit elimination history data (but avoiding runnnig tasks on history), we could post intrerunit via PL20 flexible upload to a 'manual' document type.
Then before first use of BCS tasks in the system, change the document type from manual to automatic.
i can't see any reason why it would not work, will need to be tested of course.
Any experience or comments out there?

Thanks guys, I've been too busy to test this but I'm very sure it does work and I also checked with SAP and they agreed.
So closing the message - I'll only update this message if it does NOT work as expected.

  • Assignment of billing document type with accounting document type

    Hi
I need one information regarding SD Billing Document type assignment with accounting document types.
Here CRM people asking me where we can see if the Billing doc type is BV( Cash Sale)  accounting document should be RV
Just go to T.Code VOFA for Billing document types. Based on this only system generate the Accouning documents RV, AB so onu2026u2026.
But how it is determining this accouning document type they want to know.
    Pls advice

In VOFA where it says Document type enter the FI doc type they want to post to. Otherwise it defaults to RV.
pls assign pts to say thanks.

  • Substituion of the FI Document type from MM posting

    Dears,
we are actually in the need of posting movement type 562 and would like to assign a specific document type when certain conditions are met.
In transaction OMBA document type WA is associated to the goods receipt (which is the task that is being carried out with movement 562) and we would like to substitute it with a custom document type when posting the document that meet particular criteria such as Plant and G/L account.
I have tried to create a substitution from standard transaction OBBH but, if I create it at line item level, I am not able of selecting the BLART field (since it is part of the header data) while if I create it at header level I do not have the necessary information (such as plant and G/L account) and it's not possible to select the document type as a field to be substituted.
Do you think that it would be possible to achieve my objective by creating a substituion at line item level that has, as prerequisite, the plant and G/L account, and a UEXIT as substitution?
Do you have any other suggestion to solve this issue?
    Thanks and best regards
    Davide

    Hello Davide,
You can try to change the attribute to the BLART and make it subsitutable (by maintaining VWTYGB01 view via SM30) and build your subsitution on complete document, but I doubt if SAP will allow to substitute such sensitive field.

  • Document type should always post to specific account type

    Hello experts,
I have 1 question,  Depeneding on the Document type definition I can post to different account types (S, K, D , M ,A). Assume I created a doc type ZA and checked all the account types then it allows me post to all the account types.
Here I want the document type ZA to validate one of the line in the document should always be type K (vendor). In short in the combinaton of account types posted to under this document type should always have one specified account type.
    All contributions welcome.
    Thanks,
    KKR

    Hi Eli,
I am not sure how to do that in this case, I have worked on validations before and I always worked with 'Constants'. If I write
    If Doc type is ZA
then account type should be 'K'
But the problem is it wont allow me to post as the other line will always be different, that means a combination K and other than K.
And we are not sure how many lines going to be there in a GL document.
Do I nee to look at user exits in validations? If yes, please let me know how can I do that.
    Thanks,
    KKR

  • Strange document text in automatic posting

    Hi Experts
We are using a standard reclassification on posting level 30 and it is working fine but when looking at the detail of the generated document we realized that the document text is filled with a strange string that makes no sense, example: 008B22B56E75C1DAEF3765B37EB508098D8A5012. This is an automatic posting so AFAIK the document text should be empty.
Any lead on this issue is appreciated

  • Alternative Accounting Document Type during Invoice Posting

    Hi,
I have two queries which could resolve our clients specific requirement. It is required that for a specific customer we need to have 8 digits invoice number. We have attended this through SD user exit. However the Accounting document number range is external and hence same billing number gets generated for Accounting Document. This is conflicting with previous num range which is 10 digit. We have two alternatives to solve this as given below. Pls advise.
    1) Please let us know if we can determine different Accounting Document Type when posting Invoice to  Accounts. This has to be different from what is maintained in VOFA.
    2) Is there any user exit or BADI which can determine separate number range for Accounting Document Type determined during Invoice Posting to Accounts. Probably this query is more relevant in FI Forum , but please suggest if anybody has ideas on this.

  • Content Server Report- Document types with file sizes & Status history

    Hi
We are about to start with implementing Seal Systems, however we are a global company with to start with 4 content servers in different regions of the world. In order to determine bandwidth for future strategies, I need to know what is stored on each content server in terms of document types, type file and size of files attached to each document type and of course date created and status changes  of each document.
In addition we are of course contemplating usage of SAP Cache servers, not only for better responses, but also for backup purposes.
What we are using is SAP ECC 6 with the content servers using MAX DB. I have contemplated creating a Z program in order to return only the required information for import in Excel where I can then manipulate the returned result to a report which fits us.
But before I start with this, does anyone know of any report or tools just to do that within SAP? I have seen these capabilities in other PLM solutions.
I would appreciate any feedback in this regard
    with friendly regards
    Joe Kosterman

    Hi Joe,
maybe transaction DB20 could help you here.
From DMS side tables DMS_PHIO2FILE and DMS_PH_CD1 are most relevant for original data stored in Content Server.
Regarding the changes of documents report MCDOKABL will show you all the changes done for a specific document.
For maintaining and monitoring content repositories please see transaction CSADMIN.

  • Clearing Block by Document Type in GL posting

    Hi Gurus,
I'd like to know if possible to insert a clearing block by document type in the GL account open item management. I must block the clearing for two document types.
I tried with a substitution to populate the field 'clearing document' with a dummy value but doesn't works.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance,
    Best Regards
    Emanuele

    Hi Emanuele,
If I understand you correctly, do you mean to say that you have defined a GL as open item but for postings with specific document type in that GL, you want to restrict the open item management for that Doc type.
If this is the requirement, then I dont think this is possible. You cannot define a GL as OIM and then restrict OI for few postings in the same GL.
Can you share your business requirement behind this..
