Does Application Server License allow use of Weblogic?

Hello folks,
Do you know if the Application server enterprise edition license allow the use of Weblogic Server and Weblogic Portal?
Regards,
gb

My understanding is you will require additional licences for the new installation in production. However, I am not an Oracle employee, a licencing expert or a lawyer, so I advise you to discuss this with your Oracle account manager.

  • The server license allows connections from only 5 unique IP addresses

    Hi All,
    For a project, i did "/Installing Oracle BPEL Process Manager with the
    BEA WebLogic Server/".
    While accessing the BPEL Console from more than 2 machine, i am
    getting the following error message.
    "/The Server is not able to service this request:
    [Server:002621]Connection rejected, the server license allows
    connections from only 5 unique IP addresses./"
    I am running the " /Oracle WebLogic Server 9.2 MP3/" weblogic server,
    which i downloaded from the following oracle internal site.
    /http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/bea_main.html/
    I have downloaded the license key from the following location.
    /http://licensecodes.oracle.com/
    /I have updated the license key using the "/UpdateLicense.cmd" /file.
    I manually checked the "/license.bea/" file it got changed
    "/expiration="never"/" mode.
    But still i wasn't able to get rid of the above error message. Still
    the license is not updated to the server.

    Hi James,
    Thanks a lot for your answer.
    I tried all the possible way to update the license file, i was able to update the file but the problem was not solved.
    I just tried downloading the software from another location and tried updating the license key and now its working fine, i don't see the issue.
    The below link is where i downloaded the software, you can get the license key also.

  • Install PeopleTools 8.53 with Linux Issue: Boot Application Server Domain PT853 using psadmin

    Folks,
    Hello. I am installing PeopleTools 8.53 Internet Architecture. Database Server is Oracle Database 11gR1. OS is Oracle Linux 5.
    I confront the issue regarding booting Application Server Domain PT853 while Database Server is listening as below:
    [user@userlinux PT8.53]$ . ./psconfig.sh
    [user@userlinux appserv]$ export SYSTEM_PASS=SYS/SYS
    [user@userlinux appserv]$ export ORACLE_HOME=/home/user/OracleDB_Home
    [user@userlinux appserv]$ export  ORACLE_SID=PT853
    [user@userlinux appserv]$ export TUXDIR=/home/user/Oracle/Middleware/tuxedo11gR1
    [user@userlinux appserv]$ export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$TUXDIR/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    [user@userlinux appserv]$ export PATH=$TUXDIR/bin:$PATH
    [user@userlinux appserv]$ ./psadmin
    Its output gets 2 errors in the current server log file /home/user/psft/pt/8.53/appserv/PT853/LOGS/APPSRV_0919.LOG as below:
    First, GenMessageBox(200, 0, M): PS General SQL Routines: Missing or invalid version of SQL library libpsora64 (200,0)
    Second, GenMessageBox(0, 0, M): Database Signon: Could not sign on to database PT853 with user PSADMIN.
    I create a symlink in /home/user/OracleDB_Home/lib and /lib32 as below:
    [user@userlinux lib]$ ln -s libclntsh.so.11.1 libclntsh.so.8.0
    [user@userlinux lib32]$ ln -s libclntsh.so.11.1 libclntsh.so.8.0
    After that, I run ./psadmin to boot the domain PT853 again, I see the first error is solved. Now, there is only one error in the current server log file /home/user/psft/pt/8.53/appserv/PT853/LOGS/APPSRV_0924.LOG is below:
    GenMessageBox(0, 0, M): Database Signon: Invalid user ID or password for database signon. (id=MyOwnerName)
    Server failed to start
    I have changed UserId as PSADMIN in Configuration file, purge cache and clean IPC resources and reboot. Password is correct. But the error always indicates id=MyOwnerName.
    Application Designer login as PSADMIN successfully. Data Mover Bootstrap login as MyOwnerName successfully.
    My question is:
    Why both PSADMIN and MyOwnerName are invalid user ID or password for database signon ? How to solve the issue ?
    Thanks.

    As stated in the installation manual there are a few prerequisites in chapter CHAPTER 8B Configuring the Application Server on UNIX page 238
    Prerequisites
    Before beginning this procedure, you should have completed the following tasks:
    Installed your application server.
              See "Using the PeopleSoft Installer," Understanding PeopleSoft Servers
    Installed Tuxedo 11gR1
         See "Installing Additional Components."
    Granted authorization to a PeopleSoft user ID to start the application server.
         The database configuration procedure includes a step for setting up the user ID with authorization to start
         the application server. See the application-specific installation instructions for information on the user IDs
         for your PeopleSoft application. See the PeopleTools: Security Administration product documentation
         for information on PeopleSoft PeopleTools delivered user profiles.
         See "Creating a Database on UNIX," Running the Database Configuration Wizard.
         See "Creating a Database Manually <on Windows or UNIX>," Creating Data Mover Import Scripts.
    Run the following SQL statements on your database server to review and if needed, update the PSCLASSDEFN table:
         SELECT CLASSID, STARTAPPSERVER FROM PSCLASSDEFN
         WHERE CLASSID IN (SELECT OPRCLASS FROM PSOPRCLS WHERE OPRID='<OPRID>');
         UPDATE PSCLASSDEFN SET STARTAPPSERVER=1 WHERE CLASSID='<CLASSID>';
    Note. Installers typically use VP1 or PS to test the application server. If these users are deleted or their
    passwords are changed, the application server will no longer be available. To avoid this problem, you can set
    up a new operator (called PSADMIN or PSASID, for instance) with privileges to start the application server.
    If you do this, you can use the new operator for your servers and you won't need to change the
    password each time VP1 or PS is changed.
    Does you user have privileges to start the applications server.
    Also pay attention to the connectid configuration in the application server. This should be the same connectid and password as you provided during the database creation script connect.sql

  • Do you need to purchase Application Server license for WebCenter Suite?

    Before the BEA product merger, WebCenter was sold as a separate license on top of the Application Server license. Now with the new pricing of 125K, does this mean you have to pay for a separate App Server license or is the new pricing included with an App Server license?

    Appserver licenses need to be purchased separately

  • Which Application Server should I Use

    Hi All,
    I am learning the EJBs for the first time. I tried to search for tutorials and found a few tutorials in SUN website. For some they asked me to install weblogic server. Then in another link they are showing sun application server.
    Please advise which application server is better or more widely used. I am learning EJB's to improve my job prospects.
    Thanks

    You can use the Sun application server. Please checkout the following links:

  • What application server to be used with JDev 10.1.3.4 applications

    To experts and anybody who know
    Hi,
    I am completely new to application servers. We have an application developed using JDeveloper 10.1.3.4 that needs to be deployed. We have not used any Oracle's application servers yet, and need to choose one. We have in our mind that some day we will use JDeveloper 11 for development. The issue is to choose the right server software.
    As far as we know there are Oracle Application Server and Weblogic Server (when you download JDeveloper 11 it seems Weblogic server bound to it). And these servers have different versions. We want to choose one that is compatible with both applications developed using JDev 10.1.3.4 and those developed using JDev 11 in the future.
    Any advice what server and what version to choose? We will run the server on Solaris unix platform.
    Many thanks for your advice!
    Newman

    This question is probably best asked in the JDeveloper forum.
    JDeveloper and ADF
    JDeveloper 10g should be able to do deployments to certain WebLogic versions, but it depends on what kind of application you are developing. When you write your post on the JDev forum, I suggest you describe the applications that you are developing and what features they use. For example, are these applications based on ADF?

    Hi Paz,
    Thanks for taking the time :)
    To answer your questions:
    1. Has this WebServices ever worked or is this the first time?
    The web service is working perfectly fine on my working station, the problem appears only when I deploy it on my actual server, which means that the web service is working.
    2. What Apache Axis Version are you using?
    1.4
    3. What JRE version are you using?
    Both my development pc and my server run jre 1.5.0_14
    4. In the actual server environment, can you confirm all information are exactly same as DEV environment...
    Oh yes! Absolutely.
    My recent assumption is that some windows service might be needed to run the web service client and obviously I have no clue which one it might be.
    Just to make sure; is the security policy of my Application Server set correctly?
         permission java.lang.RuntimePermission     "getClassLoader";
         permission java.lang.RuntimePermission "createClassLoader";
         permission java.lang.RuntimePermission "loadLibrary.*";
         permission java.lang.RuntimePermission "queuePrintJob";
         permission java.net.SocketPermission "*", "connect,accept,resolve";
         permission java.io.FilePermission "<<ALL FILES>>", "read,write,delete";
    // work-around for pointbase bug 4864405
    permission java.io.FilePermission "${com.sun.aas.instanceRoot}${/}lib${/}databases${/}-", "delete";
    permission java.io.FilePermission "${java.io.tmpdir}${/}-", "delete";
         permission java.util.PropertyPermission "*", "read,write";
         permission java.lang.RuntimePermission     "modifyThreadGroup";
    Again thanks for taking the time :)

  • Application server crashes when using JCO

    Hi,
    I am currently dealing with JCO Version 2.1.8.
    For testing purposes, I want to receive data from a Remote Function Module existing in our SAP development system.
    Therefore I created a simple Java servlet:
    public class POA_EDS_Servlet extends HttpServlet {
       private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
    protected void doGet(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException {
       response.setContentType("text/html");
       PrintWriter out = response.getWriter();
       out.println("<html>");
         protected void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException {
         response.setContentType("text/html");
         PrintWriter out = response.getWriter();
         String uri = request.getParameter("uri");
         JCO.Client connection;
         connection = JCO.createClient("200",
                   "DAHMSMA",
                   "EN",
                   "vmw3063.wdf.sap.corp",
                                  "00");
         try {
            connection.connect();
         catch (Exception ex) {
              ex.printStackTrace();
              System.exit(1);
    After deploying and when running this servlet, the application server is crashing. That means I have to restart the server via Remote Desktop Connection.
    Can anybode provide some help?
    Regards
    Marco

    Hello there,
    Can you please paste your defaultrace.log here. This log file will show the exception occured before the crash.
    For better debugging always using a logging mechanism and log the messages to a particular file.
    Regards,
    Vivek

  • Where does Application Server get its time information from?

    Hello All,
    My OS (AIX 5.2) has the correct time info. for e.g. right now, it's 09:40:24 EDT 2007
    My application server console however displays GMT time on the home page. I've tried restarting the console to no avail. Has anyone run into this?
    Thanks.

    A SCCP device will send a TimeDateReq packet to CCM and the CCM will respond with a DefineTimeDate packet which includes the current date/time and the phone can use the new time to keep in sync with CCM (ie. compensate for any drift since its previous DefineTimeDate request).
    Sample snippet from CCM trace.
    =====
    08/07/2006 03:39:17.630 CCM|StationInit: (0000060) TimeDateReq.|
    08/07/2006 03:39:17.630 CCM|StationD: (0000060) DefineTimeDate timeDateInfo=8/7/2006 3:39:17,1 systemTime=1154936357.|
    =====
    The interval at which a SCCP sends the TimeDateReq may vary by device type/model.
    Here are a few of the known intervals/times.
    Third-gen-phones (7970/61/41/etc) resync around 3:15am daily.
    http://wwwin-metrics.cisco.com/cgi-bin/ddtsdisp.cgi?id=CSCsc29075&show=R-comments
    Symptom:
    A 7970/71, 7941/61, or 7911 that is not used for an extended period of time may show a different time compared to other 7940/60s registered to the same CallManager. It may be a few minutes behind.
    Conditions:
    Phone not used for an extended period of time
    Workaround:
    None. When the phone is taken off-hook, the date and time will be synchronized with the CallManager
    Use latest phone load.
    7912/05s are random.
    http://wwwin-metrics.cisco.com/cgi-bin/ddtsdisp.cgi?id=CSCsd48532
    7920 resyncs at 3am.

    Other phones models/types may vary.

  • How much memory does SQL Server 2008R2 Standard use on Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit?

    Hi,
    can anyone tell me how much RAM will really be used by SQL Server?
    72 GB are currently installed. As Windows is only able to use 32 GB is SQL Server able to use the other 40GB + the unused part of the first 32 GB?
    Thank you very much!
    BR Matthias

    Sorry, I don´t understand your post ?!
    Maybe the question is if SQL Server is able to allocate more memory than the installed Windows Version is able to?
    Since your OS is Windows Standard edition(X64) it cannot use or a process running cannot use more than 32 G of memory.
    Now SQL server can use as much memory possible but it is now limited by Windows as your OS can only see 32 G.So it would be good part from your side to go to sp_configure and set 25 G for SQL server and can leave rest for OS( it just a figure not a actual
    value i have given,actual you have to calculate by yourself or refer to below link) .
    http://mssqlwiki.com/2013/04/22/max-server-memory-do-i-need-to-configure/
    As Andrew said after 32 G what ever memory you put it is waste.
    Hope this helps

  • Does oracle ucm license allow to use itext libraries for splitting pdf

    Hello,
    we want to create a component which uses the itext component for splitting pdf files. The itext component comes with the oracle ucm 11g standard installation.
    Our question would be, if it is allowed to use the itext libraries for our own needs, since the libs come with the standard ucm installation.
    Where can we find out?
    Greetings
    Bodhy

    My understanding is you will require additional licences for the new installation in production. However, I am not an Oracle employee, a licencing expert or a lawyer, so I advise you to discuss this with your Oracle account manager.

  • Does vi-server all times uses a network-protocoll

    Does the vi-server function uses all time a network protocoll (tcp/ip), even the function is only used in the same LabVIEW-application or EXE?
    Question behind:
    If I have a lot of "real" network-traffic on my machine, does that affect the performance of vi-server?
    I know, that if I use vi-server to communicate with other application/EXE on the same or a remote machine it uses TCP/IP, but I'm not shure if it also uses it if TPC/IP is disabled to block remote connection.

    The final answer can only be answered by testing on your machine so lacking those results let me say "depends".
    In theory the hardware should be screen network traffic such that only message targeting your machine ever make it "out of the chip". So if the network is not doing a lot of broadcasting and heavily using UDP etc, then your app should never see the traffic.
    When openeing acoonection to VI server on your local machine, the TCP/IP stack SHOULD detect the target machine is itself and it should NOT pass the data onto the wire.
