Does NI offer a generic LabVIEW interface for the PCI-1424 frame grabber?

I am attempting to grab frames from a DuncanTech camera using a PCI-1424. The vendor's software was developed in the LabVIEW, but I only have the executable and they seem unwilling to provide the source file(s) - essentially, the vendor software only displays the images (no capture capabilities). In the interests of time, I would like to locate/purchase a generic LabVIEW image acquisition front-end, if available.

MJP;
Your PCI-1424 card should include several examples. Check the directory where the software for the camera was installed (Usually "Program Files\National Instruments\NI-IMAQ")
Also, if you have MAX (Measurement & Automation Explorer), you can access your card from there and snap images.
Other than that, I think you have to write your own code or ask somebody to do it for you.
Regards;
Enrique

  • Lightroom 3 does not offer a choice of language for the trial download

I have downloaded the trail version Lightroom 3. Although my computer is in French, I wanted to download the English version of the software. All the tutorials and the literature are in English.
I tried three times but every time, it did not offer me a choice of language for the trial version and downloaded the French version everytime.
Can anyone help solve this problem for me?

I just checked Adobe's trial download and I was offered many different languages for the trial download.
The language choice is on the webpage before you click on <Download>.

  • XP64 driver for a PCIe 1429 frame grabber

    Hi,
I want to use a PCIe 1429 framergrabber in A Dell 5400 2 cpu quad core machine. We installed win xp64 and LV 8.2 (32 bit).
We tried to install NI vision acqusition 8.5.1 and all it says "This driver does not support any operating system prior to windows vista" Installing vista is not a good option because our university does not support this. We use MAX 4.1 and NI IMAQ 4.0 Is there a way to solve this problem?

It may not be the most attractive option, but depending on your reason for having XP64, downgrading to XP 32-bit might solve your problem.
The issue is this - in order for our drivers to work with a 64-bit OS, their kernel-mode components need to be 64-bit. Our 64-bit components have not been tested with XP64, so it sounds like our installer prevents you from installing them there. If you installed the driver on a 32-bit OS, you would get the 32-bit kernel-mode component, which is tested and should work fine with XP.
I realize you might have good reason for having XP64 (such as having more than 4 GB of RAM installed), but unfortunately I am not aware of any other solutions. Perhaps someone else might have other ideas.

  • Adaptation of LIFA (LabVIEW Interface For Arduino) to other Arduino compatible boards

    Hello evryone,
I am trying to use a ''Sakura board", which is an Arduino compatible board, having similar programming as Arduino. This board is manufactured by Renesas; more specifications on it can be found on the following link: http://sakuraboard.net/gr-sakura_en.html
What I would like to know, is if the firmware used for LIFA to interface Arduino with labview, or the ChipKit firmaware, can be used to this kind of Arduino compatible boards.
My aim, is to use the Sakura Board for acquiring signals from various pins(Be it digital or analog), and setting other pins (Digital) parralelly, using labVIEW, as this is done using LIFA, or LabVIEW interface for ChiKit!!
Thanks in advance for your support.

I haven't had any experience with the Sakura board, so can only go on the information on the website.
I've used the Arduino LabVIEW interface previously, and it basically uses serial communications between the PC and the Arduino. This serial interface is provided by the on-board USB-serial converter (an ATMega8u2 running custom firmware).
From what I can tell about the Sakura, it appears as a storage device when plugging into a PC, and doesn't seem to have a USB to serial converter. If this is the case, then the LIFA toolkit won't work. That said, my understanding of the Sakura board may be incorrect (for example I'm unsure what operation modes the slide switch changes between). If you can confirm it has a USB-serial port then LIFA may work. I guess the key thing is that the serial port is required.
You may be able to use a software serial port (http://arduino.cc/en/Reference/SoftwareSerial) on the Sakura to communicate with a PC, though that would require a PC with a serial port, or an external USB-serial converter. This approach would also require you to modify the LIFA arduino code (located in vi.lib\LabVIEW Interface for Arduino\Firmware\LIFA_Base) to reference the software serial port. It's probably a long shot that this will work, as the software serial library has been written for AVR chips, making use of their specific internal timers.

  • Does anyone out there have LabVIEW drivers for either a Z-Mike 1102 (Beta Lasermike) or a Compumotor 6104 (Parker)?

Does anyone out there have LabVIEW drivers for either a Z-Mike 1102 (Beta Lasermike) or a Compumotor 6104 (Parker)?

CompuMotor creates a Motion Toolbox for LabVIEW, but it is not supported by National Instruments.
You can find some support files and downloads for the 6104 from http://www.compumotor.com/support_samples.htm

  • LabVIEW Interface for Arduino Toolkit

Check the VI Packege Network for Available Packages を開きました。
    開いた結果、表示されたのが次の画像です。
    この画面では、どうも問題がないような内容が表記されているように思えますが、
    OKを押すと、また最初の画面に戻ってしまいます。
     LabVIEW Tools Network

  • Is there any LabVIEW driver for the Agilent 53147A counter/power meter?

I am trying to find a LabVIEW driver for the Agilent 53147A counter/power meter, but I cannot find it. Is there any?

NI does not have a driver and a quick check with Agilent shows that they don't have a driver either.
You can go to http://www.ni.com/devzone/idnet/ and request a driver. You will also find links on how to create your own driver. Your other option is to use the Instrument I/O Assistant.
p.s. In the future, you should use the Instrument control board for posting questions. this board is for NI counter/timer products.

  • Do we require abstract interfaces for the procedure ?

    hi
while going through the file to DB scenario by Mukeshlal Parida at:
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/5474f19e-0701-0010-4eaa-97c4f78dbf9b   , I had a doubt regardign as to why we need to create a abstract message interface for the procedure request and procedure response. Is it necessary to do so?mapping is already done b/w request and DB and DB-response to the final response. The ID part will call the stored procedure. Then where does the need to introduce 2 more abstract async message interface arise?
please try to clear this doubt so that i may understand the logic behind it.

    Hi...
        Find the below link.

In the above link it is showing Soap to JDBC Sceanrio which is synchronous. For JDBC, only simple table is used. Instead you can use the stored procedure.

  • Where can I find example LabVIEW VIs for the NI-USRP?

There are several sources of example LabVIEW VIs for the NI USRP:
We have established a NI Community "NI USRP Example LabVIEW VIs" where you can find example VIs from us (NI) and the community.
The NI-USRP driver installs a variety of example VIs to the to the following folder on your PC:
    <LabVIEW Installation path>\examples\instr\niUSRP
where you should replace <LabVIEW Installation path> with the root folder of your local LabVIEW installation. For instance, my Windows 7 32-bit PC here has LabVIEW 2011 installed and the examples can be found here: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2011\examples\instr\niUSRP
I've installed the NI-USRP driver, but I can't seem to find the new examples in the LabVIEW Example Finder. Where are the example LabVIEW VIs installed by the NI-USRP driver?
Although the NI-USRP driver does indeed install examples, the current NI-USRP 1.1 release does not update the LabVIEW Example Finder with entries for these examples. To find the examples, you can navigate the Windows Start Menu to the following location:
    Start Menu\Programs\National Instruments\NI-USRP\Examples
This Start Menu entry includes several Shortcuts that point to folders that are the home to example VIs.

    Hello,
It looks like Agilent/HP makes the 8990A, but I was not able to find a driver for it that we or Agilent has written for this device.
Since I am not familiar with the 8990A, I cannot recommend which drivers might be similar, but you are pointed in the right direction. Agilent themselves might know more about which models use similar command sets so that you can modify a driver easily.
    Hope this helps.

  • Using LabVIEW to program a Pattern Trigger for the PCI-5112

I am trying to program a pattern trigger for the PCI-5112.  Has anyone ever done this?  I am trying to use the the "Fetch forever" example as a base, then use the software trigger when there is a pattern match.
Any help or advice with this would be very appreciated.
PS as an example, I want to trigger when the pre-trigger data matches the pattern, say a 8 bit word such as 1010 0000.  Maybe I can try to do like my Tektonix TS5104B scope and try to program a timeout trigger.

    Good morning Andronicus,
Thanks for contacting National Instruments with your issue, we'll try our best to resolve it for you as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Unfortunately, there is no easy way to do what you're trying to accomplish with simply a Scope alone. The trigger input and PFI lines have no buffer and are only capable of looking for a single edge, and the standard CH0 and CH1 inputs strictly represent signals in analog.
So your current approach may be best, of using the Fetch Forever to acquire the signal into a prebuffer and then analyzing it and sending a software trigger.  So the best you can do in terms of response will be software-time, which is not ideal.  There is also the very tricky matter of interpreting that analog signal as a digital signal.  You'd have to know the clock rate of the incoming pattern and then also the phase in order to correctly assess the incoming pattern.  No easy task, and certainly nothing that would be super reliable or recommended.
Your best bet would be to purchase one of our  HSDIO cards, such as the PCI-653x that inherently does pattern triggering in the hardware domain, and then route the start trigger (i.e. when the pattern has been matched) via a RTSI cable to the Scope card which can then simply use the digital edge trigger to begin it's acquisition.  This will be far more robust, easier to code and have a much quicker response time.
Best of luck with your project.
    Sincerely,
    Minh Tran

  • How do I set up the port interface for the WAN side of my RVS4000 to 100T Full Duplex?

How do I set up the port interface for the WAN side of my RVS4000? The ISP says I need to set it to 100T Full Duplex, but where would I do that? In the Router's administration GUI I can't find any options to make such settings for the WAN side.

The setup of the folders in Finder is entirely up to you. Whatever suits your needs is what you should do. Lightroom will be fine no matter how you set it up.
So I'm not really sure what your question is.

    I'm sorry to hear that.
I'm not affiliated w/ the developer, just a happy user that gave up fighting the apple podcast app a while ago.  I used to have a bunch of smart playlists in itunes for my podcasts, and come home every day and pathologically synced my phone as soon as I walked in the door, and again before I walked out the door in the morning.
Since my wife was doing this too, we were fighting over who's turn it was to sync their phone.
Since I've switched to Downcast, I no longer worry about syncing my phone to itunes at all.  I can go weeks between syncs.
Setup a "playlist" in downcast (ex., "Commute") and add podcasts to that playlist.  Add another playlist ("walk" or "workout") and add different podcasts to that one.
Set podcast priorities on a per-feed basis (ex., high priority for some daily news feeds, medium priority for some favorite podcasts, lower priority for other stuff).  Downcast will play the things in the priority you specify, and within that priority, it will play in date order (oldest to newest).
Allegedly, it will also sync your play status to other devices, although that is not a feature I currently use and can't vouch for.  It uses apple's iCloud APIs, so to some extent may be limited by what Apple's APIs can do.
