Does use of bluetooth headphones disable your iMac's headphone jack?

I know that if you plug corded headphones into your iMac, your iMac's internal speakers are automatically disabled.
But, if you connect (pair) bluetooth headphones to your iMac, does that disable your iMac's headphone jack?  Or could you use corded and bluetooth headphones simultaneously?

You can use any bluetooth stereo headphones with your Mac (stereo, A2DP, requires Leopard), though Apple doesn't make any or sell any made by third parties.

  • Impossible to use my Bluetooth headphone

Hi, everybody know that this app is strong.
I just want to be able to use my Bluetooth headphone during the recordings through the USB microphone and also to heard to the result of my inspiration !!!
Now it is impossible and sometimes the application crashed when the headphone is linked and started

I believe webOS does not have support for OBEX. (OBject EXchange)
OBEX is a protocol for transferring files over bluetooth, including photos. I believe sharing photos that way are not possible at this time. (Unfortunately)

  • Can I use a Bluetooth headphone/microphone for capture sound instead of normal iPhone mic when shooting video?

Can I use a Bluetooth headphone/microphone for capture sound instead of normal iPhone mic when shooting video?
The sound when I record video is not so good, so I'm trying to use the Bluetooth headphone/microphone to capture a person voice but not know which setting to use.

    Hi Robert
Thanks for answering. I didn't know where to post other than the bluetooth forum which is relatively quiet and had no answers forthcoming.
Yes the voice isn't reaching the amp although it is registering on the input bar in the Sound System Prefs, just won't "play through" as it were. I can't see how it could be done I was just hoping someone might see something I am missing.
It seems a shame that you can't do it as iTunes on an old iBook makes a good juke box for DJ'ing and with everything becoming wireless these days it seems sensible that you could cut that one last wire.

  • Can I pair and use two bluetooth headphones (Jabra Halo2) to play movies off my iMac?

The wife and I are in search of a solution to watch streaming content off our computer without disturbing our infant that's in a crib in the same room. Is this possible with 2 pairs of Jabra Halo2's or similar bluetooth headphones?

No, BT doesn't have the possibility to connect to two separate devices at once.
You could check out the connection between the 2 speakers though?
So, you connect your iphone to one of the speakers and then connect that speaker to the other one.
All you need to check right now is check if Celsus Bluetooth Sound Bar supports pairing between them (which it should).

The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico my first language is Spanish. I do not speak English, however I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.
No, the iPod and the Mac have different operating systems; iOS and OS X respectively. The apps must be developed for the Specific OS. When the same app is for both platforms, they are actually two different apps and if you want both, then you have to buy both separately from their respective app stores.

  • How does the iphone Bluetooth fit in your ear?

My last bluetooth headset kepted falling out of my ear. Does the iphone fall out of yours? I noticed it looks like it goes off one size fits all model no additional ear attachments to make it fit your ear size or conture. Please advise since this will utimately effect my buy decision.

I just bought a bluetooth at the apple store but not the apple bluetooth. I bought the discovery 665 which is sold at the apple store. I believe it is much better than the Apple ear peace although I haven't tested it. The Discovery has differnt size attachments and fits very comforably in your ear because it is a rubby/gel type material.
Plus, it is cheaper and suppose to reduce background noise especially while driving. And it has volume control too!
I hope this helps on your decision

  • Using a bluetooth headphone, how can I play/pause and skip tracks on apps like Spotify?

I have just bought the Sennheiser MM 550-x bluetooth headphone. I am not able to use the headphone's bluetooth buttons to play/pause and skip tracks in Spotify and other non-Apple apps in Lion. The bluetooth controls (avrcp) work in iTunes and QuickTime player, though. The same issue applies to the Apple headsets with inline remote controls. Is there a workaround for this, like third party remote apps  that responds to bluetooth commands or let you remap incoming bluetooth commands?

I'm having the same issue with my Philips, I have tested on ML and Maverick and still happening,  the controls just work with iTunes and I always use spotify... Any solution for that!?!!?!?

  • After using external speakers headphone jack no longer works

Hi, i plugged in some external speakers yesterday, the type that have two channel inputs (red and white) from my headphone jack.  the speakers didnt seem to work, i thought it was the speakers that were broken, but now nothing will work from the headphone jack.  the computer recognises they are there but there is no sound at all apart from slight fuzziness.  it is nothing to do with the red light connection as ive had this problem before and its not that this time.  i have reset vram and done the SMC reset too, but none of this has worked.  the internal speakers work fine.  nothing is muted, nothing is unbalanced.  i have read everything single thread about similar problems and tried all the solutions i can find.  can anyone help!!??  :'.(

Replacing a faceplate on an 83xx device is not a simple operation.  It is not meant to be disassembled by the consumer.  This is a risk you take of disassembling a working device.  You may be able to disassemble and fix but there is no way for us to know whether you can fix it or not.

  • Can i use a bluetooth headphone and a bluetooth cycle computer at the same time on a 4s?

I was wanting to get the wahoo bluetooth enabled cycle computer and heart rate monitor and use it at the same time as I use bluebird bluebuds bluetooth head phones. Does this many divices work at the same time?

No, you can connect only one bluetooth device at a time.

  • Can you use 2 bluetooth headphones at the same time with ipad?

I'd like to purchase 2 bluetooth headsets for my elderly parents to use with their ipad for FaceTime. They both typically use FaceTime at the same time to talk to their grandkids, but have difficulty hearing just using the ipad speaker. Is it possible to utilize 2 bluetooth headsets at the same time with ipad. If not, what's the best alternative? (Wired headsets will not work as they also are often caring for another young grandchild at the time and can't be tethered)

You can only pair to one BT headset at a time.
As an alternative, have you considered a BT speaker  so you can increase the volume of the Facetime call?

  • HT1414 I can't use my auxiliary headphones jack. If I can help it I don't really want to restore and lose everything.. Help!

I can't use my auxiliary jack which can be really inconvenient. Do you think it will have to be sent in to be sorted?

    Can you explain can't use?
Are you using an iPhone case, if so have you tried removing it and then plugging in your headphones.

  • Is there a way to use Bluetooth headphones with apple tv

I am trying to figure out if there is a way to use my Bluetooth headphones with my Apple TV3. I know it has Bluetooth as I can use the keyboard.

It's a pretty good idea - why not send a suggestion here:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/appletv.html
....especially as AppleTV has no analogue audio out, and most non-Bluetooth wireless headphones would expect an analogue input (there are some expensive ones that handle optical, or the user coudl maybe use TV headphone/audio out, but Bluetooth audio might be handy for many.

Hi, Please let me know if i can connect my MacBook Air to sony led TV ex700 using a bluetooth device?

Your Macbook Air does have Bluetooth on it... so I would assume so.
Not idea what you are trying to do though, so can't be sure.

  • Car use:  dock output vs. headphone jack

I use my iPod extensively in my car - - through a cassette adapter, with sound from the headphone jack.
Am considering purchasing the Belkin Auto Kit for iPod w/ Dock Connector (dual charger plus sound from the dock port area). Would doing this - - and getting sound from the 'bottom' of the iPod - - provide significantly better sound than from the headphone jack?
    Thanks.

so i have my ipod plugged into the back (aux) portion of my deck, this cord feeds though and i plug my in my ipod through the headphone jack (only distortion comes at very high volumes). i have it set up this way so that i can use the ipod itself to select a song. now for the question: do they make a product that allows me to plug my ipod into my deck but use the conection at the bottom of the ipod and still use the ipod to select the music (thus getting charged while playing music without the use of the headphone jack)?
I hope this wasnt to jumbled.
(i had an actual ipod adapter and although the quality is good, attempting to actual select the specific song you want to hear is the biggest pain in the butt EVER, mainly b/c you must use your eck to select the song, the only way to listen to it is on a playlist, otherwise you might crash)
    thanks

  • 27" iMac i7 system noises/hash out of the analog headphone jack.

Anybody have any info on the cause of this noise?? My 27" iMac i7 emits some sort of system noise out of the ANALOG headphone jack when hooked up to external powered speakers or mixing board. I thought it might be be some sort of grounding issue, since it's only when it's hooked into some other POWERED piece of gear, but I've tried everything I can think of to isolate the source and I can't.
These system noises occur only when using the analog headphone jack, and only when hooked up to anything that uses AC power. They are not heard when using headphones directly plugged in the back of the iMac. The only way around the hash is to use the OPTICAL out of the headphone jack (which is clean as a whistle). The noises vary, depending on the activity on the monitor: scrolling anything, selecting an area, moving windows, web pages loading (especially noisy with a lot of Flash content), etc... all have distinct noises. They are the same in both channels and are not affected by the System volume control, even when the System volume is muted. One interesting thing I noticed - when the Sound panel of System Prefs is open, switching back and forth between Output and Input causes the noise to be significantly quieter on Input, then loud again on Output. In a studio environment, it's impossible to edit with these noise constantly in the background. The noises do not affect a recording, only playback.

Sorry, hadn't seen your post on the other thread yet. My reply's there, but basically, hub didn't work for me and the junk is still coming out of the headphone jack with no USB interface at all. I'm thinking it's graphics card related... lots of problems with them. At any rate, I'll be talking to an Apple tech in about half an hour, so maybe I'll get an answer then.
