Download report with Aggregates

Hi I am using
Application Express 4.0.2.00.07
I have been trying to figure out a way to print the aggregate that is in my IR to be printed/downloaded into CSV or HTML.
I have no problem in printing the report but I cant get the aggregate(sum) to be printed any ideas?

I need to create a report with Chinese header title, how can I put in these chinese word in my report?
And after all, I will need to download this report to Excel sheet.
I 'm using function GUI_DOWNLOAD to download the report to excel, but the chinese words display as ############## in the excel sheet.

We need to include CODE PAGE in the FM. This will help SAP to under the language which you are uploading.
Use GUI_UPLOAD FM to upload the excel sheet. This has a parameter CODE PAGE, which you can pass to the FM.

Misalignement in Excel sheet,while downloading reports with huge data

Hi,
While downloading reports in excel with huge volume of data ,we are getting misalignments in the excel sheet(some data comes in wrong rows). Can you please suggest what could be the reason and how to correct it.

Hi,
If you are using Office 2003, then you cannot download morethan 65000+. However if you use Office 2007, I think it gives you somewhere around 400000 records. (I didnt scroll below that!!!). Also the columns are morethan IV.
However assuming that, even that version can have limitation, you can always download your data in a wordpad/notepad/textpad etc which are basically text editing tools. They dont have any such row or column restrictions.
Once downloaded, you can randomly split them into some x number of files, based on the number of records and then open the same documents using xls sheet using tab value as delimiter. Now the alignment will be perfect in the excel sheet.

Downloading Reports - with other regions

Hi,
We are re-writing a web report application in APEX. Our current system "regions" for the report description and report parameters. When you export/download the report these regions are included in the csv file.
Is their a way we can do this in APEX? We don't have BI publisher.

I have searched thru some of the Oracle Manuals for the same and found that they will provide support to Websphere soon, to publish Oracle Reports.
However, not sure whether the same is made avl. as of today.

Hi,
I have a Product Table with columns, CustomerName, ProductID,ProductName,Purchase Date. I am trying to create a report in the flg. format:
CustomerName Customer-Prod Count ProductName Total Prod Count %of Products
Mike 10 CD 2 20%
DVD 1 10%
Computer 6 60%
Laptop 1 10%
Dan 5 Computer 3 60%
DVD 2 40%
Any suggestions on how to accomplish this?

Thanks, the syntax worked. But I get incorrect results.
Here's what I queried:
"PRODUCTS".CUSTOMERNAME,
COUNT("PRODUCTS"."PRODUCTID" By "PRODUCTS"."CUSTOMERNAME"),
"PRODUCTS".PRODUCTNAME,
COUNT("PRODUCTS"."PRODUCTID" By "PRODUCTS"."PRODUCTID", "PRODUCTS"."CUSTOMERNAME")
The first count returns the correct results but the second count is wrong. The query looks to be ok, I don't know where I am getting it wrong.
Any ideas?

How to fix a report textbox aggregate expression error in SQL server reporting with multiple datasets?

I have a SQL Server Reporting Services report that has a textbox within a Report with variations of the following expression
=Sum(IiF(Fields!RegisterID.Value = 6000, 1, 0)
and
Iif(Fields!PointID.Value = 500, 1, 0)) / Sum(Iif(Fields!PointID.Value = 500, 1, 0))
I see the following error when I try to preview the report:
The Value expression for the text box ‘Textbox2’ uses an aggregate expression without a scope. A scope is required for all aggregates used outside of a data region unless the report contains exactly one dataset.
What am I missing in this this expression to make it run incorrectly

Can you include dataset name in your sum functions? e.g. Sum(IiF(Fields!RegisterID.Value = 6000, 1, 0)
and
Iif(Fields!PointID.Value = 500, 1, 0)) should include your dataset name as Sum(IiF(Fields!RegisterID.Value = 6000, 1, 0) and Iif(Fields!PointID.Value = 500, 1, 0),"datasetname")Like wise Sum(Iif(Fields!PointID.Value = 500, 1, 0)) should also have dataset name Sum(Iif(Fields!PointID.Value = 500, 1, 0),"datasetname")

Two Dimensional Report - With FTP download and formatting in EXCEL

Hi all,
I have a ztable with customer,daily quantity , date as columns. I need to make a report with date as rows and customer as columns . If a new customer is added in the ztable , one more column should come in the report.
Basically the internal table should change <b>dynamically</b>.
I have to download this report into FTP and should save as .xls file. All formatting that are there in SAP has to appear in the Excel Sheet also.
Is there any function module for Dynamic Internal Tables and make <b>formatting changes in EXCEL</b> ??

Download ALV report with layout to application server

Hi Gurus,
I have a problem as follows:
I have one ALV Grid report. This report is very time consuming.
That is why, user wants this to be run in background every night and in the morning when user comes to the office that ALV report should be on user's drive in excel format.
However, it should run with one specific variant and that variant should be dynamically populated. (I have handled this part)
It should also apply specific layout that has many filtering conditions.
As I can not download ALV to excel in background, I decided to download it to the Application server.
My problem is that when run in background, in spool ALV report shows o/p with proper filter conditions that is 5 out of 20 records.
But, when I write this report o/p to Application server, it writes all the records in there, i.e., all 20 records. It does not take into account all the filters. [:(]
I also tried downloading spool to excel, but o/p is not neatly formatted. All columns are fying here and there.
Any suggestion, how can I write ALV o/p to Application server with layout into consideration?
P.S. I have searched forum for this type of query, but no apt responses.

did u downloaded the report with standard option provided in the alv and checked the data? that is populating all 20 records?. if so then use coding for achieving the standard one
at the end of selection do like this ..
SET USER-COMMAND ' %PC' .
and in the user-command use like this..
case sy-ucomm.
when ' %PC'.
give the file name ..
do processing ..
endcase.

Report with Report Painter including download to Application Server

Hi all,
i would like to create a report with the report painter which can be dowloaded to the application server. i have found under "report header" - "export parameters" - the button "export to application server", however there i am not able to specify the correct path and get the file downloaded.

Issue with downloaded reports

Following is the issue we are facing with the downloaded reports:
When we download reports, the columns that have links are getting downloaded along with the links.
Please, let us know how we can overcome this i.e. we don't want the links to get downloaded along with the columns.

Found the answer. You cant have format mask on the number or date column. I am assuming it is looking for a number and you are returning a string.

I got some documenation from our IBM consultant. One is called "12. Reporting with evDRE.pdf" and you can find some links to download reports in it. It would be very useful for me to know how the links work? How can I get all these mentioned helpful reports available? I already asked our consultant but he also don't know it and refered to that forum.

Yes in some reports yes; but making some tests I tried also to disable the hide from the rows this doesn't change anything;
A additional information: I did a short report with 1 line and 1 column (with suppression).
When I launch with 1 column 1 line (of course with column suppressed) the pdf is generated
When I add a second column after the suppressed column the pdf is generated
when I add a second column before the suppressed column I have the error.

Low Performance in the report with cell defition

Hi all,
In one of our queries (3.5), we had to use lots of cell definition. And after execution of the report, it stays in "Formatting Result Area" and "Retrieving Result from BW Server" for a very long time (about 30 minutes).
There is already aggregate on the infoprovider and report uses it.
Is there any way to increase reporting performance of a report with lots of cell definitions ?

Downloading report in excel format.

Hi,
I'm newbie on apex. I'm trying to make a report which is enabled to download in excel format. Report is working correctly what I expected.
But I found single colume data was split multiple cell in downloaded excel file. I don't know how I can merge this cells into one.
I made a sample report with data.

If you download this report, you can see 'Long Text' is split into two or three cells.

If I change column display type in input form to text field from textarea, It makes to prevent to input enter key in text data.
But I hope user can input enter key in text data. So still I need another way to download data into single cell.

In need help: Analytic Report with Group by

Good morning,
I am trying to create a report with subtotal and grand total, which of couse goes to the group by clause, with rollup, cube, grouping... etc. I'd like to use rollup, then some columns in the Select list have to be put into the Group By clause, which is not supposed to be. So I had to use one of SUM, AVG, MIN and MAX functions, to make those columns as *aggregated, which is wrong.
Another alternative I tried is to use Cube and Grouping_id to be the filter. However, that is still very cumbentsome and error-prone, also the order of the display is absolutely out of control.
I am trying hard to stick to the first option of using the Rollup, since the result is very close to what I want, but avoid the usage of aggregation functions. For example, if I want to display column A, which should not be grouped. Other than using those aggregation functions, what I can do?
