Downloaidng videos to Zen moz

i read all the preievious messages but i still cain,t get my Zen Mozaic to play msic video that i tried to dowlnload. I would go to youtube and get the url of the video that i wanted and the go to zamzar to convert a flv. filt to avi.,wmv, and mp4 and the device doesn,t work with any of them when i sync it it always says error on the device even though i am using the correct converter please help me this is important to me

Re: Error Message of no codec when trying to load videos to Zen X-Fi" If it doesn't come out and say what codec it lacks, then your best bet is to load it into a media player that can handle playback (e.g. WMP) and then use that application to get information about the file. The file properties should include the info about which audio and video codecs are involved. I find Media Player Classic to be handy for grabbing this info. It tends to reveal the details in cases where other media players do not (i.e. it will show you what it knows regardless of whether metadata tags exist).
Is this error coming out of Creative's video converter application itself?

I need help putting videos on my Creative Zen V Plus. I convert them to avi using Super Converter and I drag and drop them into the folder for the videos on my zen. When I turn on my Zen and go to the videos the video is there however when I try to play it it says video format not supported.

Video file size in Zen Moz

I recently bought a Zen Mozaic and I've stored some avi movies in it. As avi videos can take many disc space ( up to 700 MB) I tried to shrink the video size (by lowering the resolution). Although in my computer, these files have shrunken in size, when I converted them to my Zen, they still take as many disc space as the original files.
Is there any way I can shrink avi video file size in my Zen Mozaic?

Try changing the files to wmv format , it worked for me .....

Okay, so here's the deal...
I got the Zen V Plus a few weeks ago.
It works fine other than the videos... I have the 2GB version.
Well, I have 90MB videos saved in AVI format. The player supports AVI format... What I don't get is why do I have to convert my video (that's already in AVI format) to AVI format again? And when I do, the size of the video clip sky rockets! It goes from 90MB to 2.2GB ((which is too big to fit!!). The dimensions of the AVI video are perfectly fine, too (28x80)... And there is no other way I can upload my AVI videos onto my Zen V Plus. I always have to use the Creative Video Converter because nothing else works for me. If I try to transfer my videos through another program, it'll say that the video format is not supported when it's AVI!!! I really don't get it. This is making me beyond frustrated and I've been trying to figure this out for weeks. I have downloaded over 20 programs to see if the AVI format will work with my Zen V Plus. Help?
I am sooo confused.
I want to return it. I mainly got the Zen V Plus for the video support, but that doesn't even work the way I want it to! Gahh. The thing is, I bought it while I was in Vegas (at Fry's Electronics)... and I li've a few states away. So now I'm not sure that I can even return it! Help on that issue too, please?

You would have to?call frys.
Many stores have some kind of RMA process by which you can return items by mail for a refund.
It varies quite a bit from some stores. Not sure if frys (the store vs online store) has a method of doing so but you could contact them to see. If you are getting a Zune and have specific video content you wish to play you should check in on the various Zune forums to make sure you will be able to convert your AVI files to be playable on the Zune. Este detalle le resta muchos puntos, y lo deja por debajo de su mayor competidor el NANO o cualquier otro MP4 mas barato de cualquier otra marca.

Bueno, pues he estado probando varios formatos... Y al final el reproductor ha hecho lo que le ha salido de los webos. Te cuento
Prob? con un video de 200mb, algunos formatos consegu?an reducirlo hasta 90mb y se pod?a ver bien en el pc, con otros pesaba m?s. Pero siempre, al ir a meterlo en el reproductor, el convertidor hac?a lo que le sal?a de los cojones, con algunos formatos me pasaba de 200 a 300mb de peso, y algunas veces incluso de 90mb a 500!! 300mb m?s que el archivo original y 5 veces m?s que el archivo en otro formato! Sin embargo, con algunos archivos s? que consegu?a que me pesasen 0mb mas o menos pasando primero a formato Zen Vision.
Qu? he hecho: de momento he ido a la tienda y me han devuelto el dinero. Estoy esperando a que traigan los Zen V Plus de 4gb (200e) porque en esos caben mas v?deos, porque si te vas a un mp4 de 300e no bajan.

Audio Video Desyncronization Zen 8

Hello Friendly People At?Creative!? I love the Zens but?I do have a few small problems. I put an avi file with mp3 sound?through the video converter into my Zen 8 gb and it looked amazing until I started to notice that the audio and video were slowly becomming unsyncronized, especially two or three minutes in. Any help on how to fix this would be very apreciated.

Video on ZEN V Plu

I just bought a 2GB Zen V Plus. Love it so far. Sound is good and size is great.. My only disappointment comes from the video playback. The video conversion method Creative is using for the Zen V+ end up with HUGE files sizes! Much bigger than the original video file size. I did a few experiments and that's what I found:
- Apparently .AVI files results in small(er) files after conversion. Still, the converted file size is no where near in size than the original
- It happened many times that the converter fails to convert and/or transfer the video files to the device. It just sits there and times out with a message saying that "Unsuccessful Conversion/Transfer" No other reasons are given!!
-I converted a few .AVI files of original size about 9-20MB (0 or so minutes), the output file was about 220MB in size!! That's more than 0 times larger? WHY!!
You would imagine that a device with a small screen (28 pixel sq.) and slow refresh rate will need only smaller files to play, but it is not the case with the V Plus..
I was wondering if anyone has experimented with 3rd party converters that gives a video format playable on the V Plus? Or if there's anyway to get a reasonable file size out of the Creative converter?
Otherwise, it is a nice player and I like it so far.
Ah, forgot to ask if Games can be played on it's The joystick is kind of appealing, and will work great with games I suppose..

Yeah...prolly about GB give or take?a little...when i put youtube on my zen v plus (2GB) i just put about 2 episodes of anime on which is about an hour..so My best guess is slightly under a GB.And I have never tried to put a dvd on it...prolly never will try...but the only thing i can say to that is you should probably find an "online video converter" just serch google or use vixy.net or convertdirect.com?just DONT download converters...they're just some big lie. ^_^

Playing videos on Zen Mozaic

I have a 6gb Zen Mozaic and I am having trouble finding videos that I can put on the player. I looked at the format of the sample videos that came with the player and they are .avi format so I tried to upload a few other .avi video files to the player and I got an error that said it cannot play that format...
Is .avi the only video file type supported or can it play other types of video files? Is there a video converter I can use to fix this? Which one works the best? And why won't it play the .avi file I tried to upload?

AVI doesn't say everything. Inside the AVI file there can be different video and audio formats. The AVI files you uploaded to the player probably won't play because they have an unsupported video or audio format in them.
The Mosaic only supports MJPEG as a video format, and the screen is 60 x 28 pixels. So I would try converting it to AVI, choose MJPEG as video format and set the resolution to 60x28 (or try higher, it will improve the quality but there is a limit where the player doesn't play it anymore..). Also set the aspect ratio to "full" or something similar, to prevent it from cutting off your video. And set the audio to mp3.
I like Format Factory (http://www.formatoz.com/). Although there is a drop-down list for the resolutions and bitrate, you can also just type it in that box and it will work.
Xmedia Recode is also a good one, it has about the same options (except hardcoding subtitles).

A new version of the Video Converter is out. Try to install it and maybe that your issue will be fixed.

Trouble downloading video on Zen Visio

I haven't been able to find a site to download a movie onto my Zen Vision M. I downloaded a movie from CinemaNow and it would play on my computer but wouldn't download to the Zen. I would really like to use the video feature for movies. Does anyone know where I can access movies in the right format?

It seems that most video subscription services do not work with the Zen Vision: M or W but I have found that Amazon Unbox works with these players. You download the program from Amazon (Free)? then you purchase or rent the videos that you want to see and they will download to your computer then the downloaded program from Amazon will trnsfer them to your device. I've got the very same problem. I've got a Creative Zen Mosaic, version .03.0 and I'm using Creative Centrale, I also got Windows XP. The problem is, that I convert my video to 320x240 (using jetAudio) and still I can't transfer my video successfully.
Can you help me with this? Should I use different converter? If so, which one?

Hello Catherina-CL , I have?Creative Zen V Plus 4 GB, version .0.03e. When i Convert my videos (Video propierties: DivX, 24 Bits, 39 kbps, 25 fps, on 368x496 pix; Sound: MP3, 28kbps) with Creative Video Converter 5.6.6.0, I can see the videos on my PC perfectly. Ok, but when i transfer the videos to my Creative Zen V Plus 4 GB, the sound isn't sync with the image. The image hav a 2 seconds, aprx. of delay. What can I do?. I have had my zen v plus (2gb) for a little while and for months on end i would try and figure out how to get video on it. Ultimately i wanted to get youtube on there and couldnt figure out how until the other day.
I was absolutely amazed and soooo happy because zen v plus doesnt support the .flv format. FOLLOW MY FOLLOWING STEPS IN ORDER TO PUT YOUTUBE VIDEOS ON YOU ZEN V PLUS WITHOUT DOWNLOADING ANYTHYTHING!!!
. Find you video on youtube...or any other video site you desire.
2. Copy that URL (of the video)
3. Go to convertdirect.com (I strongly reccomend Internet Explorer)
4. Paste the URL into that box and make sure the box below says .AVI then hit "CONVERT"
5. Wait a few minutes for the video to convert itself (you may have get kicked off if the server is too busy, but just try again)
6. When it is Completely done loading, a link will pop up that you should click to download that video.
7. Save the video in "My Videos" folder using a short name (preferably without numbers)
~~~~Now you have your video downloaded...here comes the trickier part
You will need the following windows up on you computer
. The Zen V series Media Explorer window
2. The Zen V series video converter (found in #)
3. Your "My Videos" folder that contains the downloaded video
4. This window is obtained by clicking on the Zen V Series Media Explorer button...then click "Browse Media"...then click on the video section (that has the icon of a roll of film)
~~~~Now that you have all of the windows open you need to...
. Drag your downloaded video into the Zen V Plus video Converter...just click and drag
2. Convert that video however you wish
***Notice that for whatever reason the video converter can CONVERT the video well to fit the Zen...but it CANT TRANSFER the video to your Zen video player
3. If you have your "my Videos" file in site at the time (after converting your already converted-on-the-internet video another video will pop up in you file. It is the same exact video as before but now it has a [] (or some other number) behind it. THAT is the video you want.
4. Have both THAT file window with the video, "My Videos", (that was converted 2x)and another window (#4 on the window list above) out and viewable for another drag and drop
5. For this step, drag and drop the new video (that popped up after converting using the Zen converter---has a [] after the original name)and drag this to the window (#4 on the window list above) that contains the videos already on you zen --
****If you have no videos on your Zen, it should say "Drag and Drop Files Here"
After that file is dragged into the Video section of you Zen...it will take a second to load and you DONE!!!!!
I felt like a genious (although i'm not) After discovering this and realy want to share it in as much detale as possible so i can help other people that were depressed like me when they couldnt get youtube on their Zen V Plus.
