Downpayment doubts

Hello Professionals,
I just need some help to clarify the following:
1. Can downpayment or its partial/full  invoice be made with a Periodic billing plan or can only be with Milestone billing plan?
2. when downpayment is received in FI department, a downpayment request is created to settle it but will not yet clear it until the printing of the 1st partial invoice? If so, can i know the rationale?
3. is it that downpayment can be made a 2nd time to increase or decrease the downpayment amount paid in total and if there is still outstanding downpayment, this sum can be cleared together with the final invoice?
So, when downpayment is not yet fully cleared, the partial invoice and final invoice and be processed also?
4. If  downpayment can be made 2nd time, how many times can downpayment be processed or made? Not fixed rule right?
best regards
Pascal

1. Can downpayment or its partial/full invoice be made with a Periodic billing plan or can only be with Milestone billing plan?
- Normally with milestone billing
2. when downpayment is received in FI department, a downpayment request is created to settle it but will not yet clear it until the printing of the 1st partial invoice? If so, can i know the rationale?
- First the downpayment request is printed and sent to customer (billing document type FAZ). Against this document only, customer will make payments.
3. is it that downpayment can be made a 2nd time to increase or decrease the downpayment amount paid in total and if there is still outstanding downpayment, this sum can be cleared together with the final invoice?
So, when downpayment is not yet fully cleared, the partial invoice and final invoice and be processed also?
Per SAP documentation (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/14/c8af5ad21411d2acc70000e8a5bd28/frameset.htm under payments made) if partial payment only made for downpayment, still it is considered as cleared. This means for the balance payment, user needs to manually enter as further downpayment request at the line item level.
4. If downpayment can be made 2nd time, how many times can downpayment be processed or made? Not fixed rule right?
- Again point 3 answers this question. By the way, if the business makes a contract with the customer for downpayment and milestone billing plans, then it is NOT normal that there are many partial payments for down payments.

  • Downpayment in Fixed Assets

    Hi all,
I have a doubt about downpayment procedure in FA. We have created a note item as a downpayment in a vendor.
This vendor has a PO assigned to a WBS element which is assigned to a asset under construction. When we run the WBS Settlement this donpayment was posted to the Asset under construction with transaction type 180 (Downpayment). This was in May.
In june the user realize that this note item (Downpayment) was wrongly posted to this  place, it will never be paid. They are waiting the invoice to be posted and pay.
The user cancelled the downpayment with FB08. But when we are nunnig the settlement of the WBS in june no reversal is poted in FA with transaction type 181.
What is missed or wrong to post the cancellation of the downpayment into the Asset under construction? What is wrong in the scenario?
    Thanks for your kind help.
    Regards,
    Adela.

    Hi,
Down payment request against WBS (F-47) cant be moved to AUC. Only advance payments (F-48 ro F110) Can be moved to AUC provided required config maintained. if you reverse the advance payment document after the settlement, the same will get credit in WBS and the it will be transfered to AUC as Credit in the next settlement run. Transaction type 181 will be used in the reversal.
Please check the Payments report for the WBS element and Asset values in AW10N for AUC asset, this will provide the complete history of the WBS and AUC.

  • Downpayment to Vendors using F110

  • A/R Downpayment Request,A/R Downpayment Invoice

    hi
    gurus
this is KD. can anyone soleve my confusion between A/R Downpayment Request,A/R Downpayment Invoice.plz solve this as soon as possible
    bye Gurus

    Dear KD,
Please note that the A/R Down Payment Request is just a request that you are sending to your customer and you cannot post any payment against this Document . It is similar to Proforma Invoice in the sense that it used for Information purpose or a request to the customer that for e.g he is requested to make say 20% of the payment before the deliveryv in order to make the delivery.
Now the A/R Down payment Invoice is an actual Invoice with which the cutomer can make the catual payments. Further the above example when the amount is Rs.1000 you will have to put the DPM % in The DPM field in the Footer of the document . Say you put it as 20 % then the system calcualtes 20 % of 1000 which is 200 and creates the Invoice for Rs. 200/- only.
    Hope this clears your doubt.

  • TDS on Downpayment/Partial Payments

    Hi Freinds,
My client is facing a problem regarding TDS deduction. i.e, TDS is getting deducted both at downpayment and invoice posting. i want to know whether any configuration is there , where the system identifies the net amount after downpayments/partial payments for TDS.
Note; The client doesnt want to change withholding base amount Manually
and also i have tried the central invoice proposition in the withholding tax type , but it is not working. can  anyone help me with this.?...
    points wil be defnitely awarded.

    Hi Madhu and All
    Here i got some doubt
    1. F-48 10000/- tds on 1000/-
    2. F-43 50000/- tds on 5000/-
    3. f-54 10000/- reverse the tds on 1000/-
    4. F-53 40000/- no TDS
in the 4 point f-53 we need to make payment of Rs.36000 with no tds .....
because the tds amount is got reverse of Rs.1000/- in point no.3  so net payment made is 9000/- only. the balance has to be paid is
    total invoice  --  50000
    less tds       --    5000    -
    less advan   --   10000   -
    Add tds on adv
    (F.54)          --    1000  +
    Net amount    -- 36000
Can you calrrify me in this regards.
I would be thankful for giving clarification

  • Doubt in case of Down payment made

    Dear Experts,
My client is doing a Downpayment against a PO for Asset wherein I had config  the asset class for Downpayment transation type 15 in SPRO
But I am not understanding what General Ledger Account I should give for Down payment in AO90 as the Advances can be booked for Domestic as well as Foreign Vendors
    Please reply for this doubt

    Thanks for your reply prakashcw!!!
Report is showing all configuration as correct...
    1) I have done entry in F-48 and checked the status in the program you have mentioned...
It comes up with the error
"Withholding tax amount exceeds total bank line item amounts.
    Message no. 7Q320"
    Though the entry is:
    Vendor A/c Dr.    60
    To bank                54
    To TDS                   6
    2) Invoice Entry of Rs100 @10% TDS
    Entry:

    TDS                                10.00-

Final Withholding Tax Amount                                                          10.00 INR

Final Withholding Tax Amount                                                           0.00 INR
    4) When making the final payment to the vendor system is doing this entry
    001 50  Bank         26.00-
    002 38  Vendor           54.00-
    003 25  Vendor          90.00
    004 50  TDS           10.00-
That means system is calculating the TDS at the time we are making the final payment.
Please suggest what shall I do in order to rectify the problem.

  • Downpayment thru APP

    Hello friends,
Im Raghu here i have a query "whether we can make advance payment through
"Automatic Payment Program"(APP) is there any special configuration for that
I selected spl GL indicators for Advance and i entered Downpayment request also
if possible send me screen shots. [email protected]

    Hi
You can never select particular invoice in APP. You just mention 'posting date', 'doc.enetered upto date' and 'due by date'. Then you select vendors you want to make payments to. Also make sure payment methods are properly selected
make sure that all these dates are properly entered and particular vendor/s selected.
hope this will clear the doubt.

  • Vendor Downpayment Request  Payment Order

    Dear All
We are processing most of our vendor payments through Automatic Payment Program which initially create the payment order and later once we upload the EBS system clears the vendor open item. All the vendor open items which are having payment order are locked and cannot be cleared without payment order. This is a control so that no duplicate payment can be made. But we recently found a flaw in SAP where although normal open items are blocked but in case if there is any payment order for downpayment request, we can still process the payment through F-48 meaning we can create the down payment for the DPR for which payment order exist so there is a chance of duplicate payment to vendor. Please advise if someone face the same issue and is there any solution to control it.

  • A/P Credit memo cannot copy from A/P Downpayment Invoice

    Hello Everyone!
I have encounter problem in A / P credit memo. If I clicked on the Copy from A/P Down payment the list of invoices do not appear.
List seems to be empty. I've checked on the A/P down payment and the account is still open and the is an existing downpayment.
    Thanks!

    Hi Nelle_13,
if the DPI is not shown in the matrix when you select AP Down Payment from the 'Copy From' menu in the credit memo, then that DPI has been paid or credited already. Only open DPIs can be used as base document for a credit memo.
To check, you should open the DPI, rightclick & select 'Applied/Reconciled Transactions'. That will show you the documents this DPI is reconciled with & guide you to the payment/credit note standing on it. If it's a payment, you can cancel the payment & thus re-open the DPI. It can then be used as base for a credit memo. You'll need to check with the accountant what to do with the payment.
    All the best,
    Kerstin

  • Error while posting A/R Downpayment Invoice with Excisable Tax Code.

While posting A/R Dowpayment Invoice with Excisable Tax Code error of "Unbalanced Transaction" appears. This error does not occur while posting A/R Downpayment Invoices with Non-Excisable Tax Codes.
Kindly provide a solution for the same.

    SAP Note Number: 1179405
Error -5002 when trying to copy a document with Sales BOM
In order to create the delivery via the DI, you need to set the oDoc.Lines.BaseLine value to the LineNum value from the RDR1 table (in the above example you should enter the value 2).
we set oDoc.Lines.BaseLine=0 before starting the lines loop. This has resolved the issue.
This note was really helpful and it was found in another query.

  • PI' RFC  Connection pool  doubt.

    Hi PI exports:
i have a doubt about  pi' RFC  Connection pool ,pi RFC receive channel can set the conn pool size ,but when start the rfc receiver channel ,is there always only one Connection  pool ,or there is only one Connection  pool  instance?

Edited by: kevin liang on Oct 19, 2009 6:45 AM

    Hi,
Connection poolins size means how many number of connection you want to make open to send data to ECC, We can define maximum number of connection in Receiver RFC Adapter,Go to additional parameters section and define Max Number of connection give the number there, thats it.Internally it works as Connection poolin mechanism.

  • Small Doubt Regarding SY-MANDT

    Hi All,
SELECT changenr FROM cdhdr CLIENT SPECIFIED INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE it_cdhdr
                                             WHERE mandant = syst-mandt
                                             AND   objectclas = 'MATERIAL'
                                             AND   objectid   = wa_matl-matnr
                                             AND   tcode      = 'MM02'.
I have written the select stament as shown above.
In this i have a doubt like adding a field sy-mandt  in the where condition will increase the Efficiency of program or not.
    regards,
    raghu.

    Hi..
No doubt the efficency would be affected but from business point of view there will many  things that need to be checked as in:
If you are viewing data from CDHDR and CDPOS which is client specific then you are not viewing complete data.
These tables give us and document changes made to a particular object in SAP but if anything is cross client like company code(lets assume) then changes to it wont be visible in all the clients..
so there can be some key information you can miss out while working on some of the objects.
else in this case its good to make query cross client.
    regards
    vishal
