"DPC_watchdog_violation" happens almost everyday, tried re-installing, is this a hardware problem?

Hello, I'm from Hong Kong. You guys must be wondering why I'd post in a foreign forum instead of local one - I cant find any support from my local forum. I cant even find this model form my local Website.
First of all, I brought this laptop (Envy 14) in 2013 from my so called "University Notebook Scheme". But once I got my first Envy, problem arised - my screen keeps flashing. I went back to the store and replaced it with a new one. Yet, this "new one" keeps having "DPC_watchdog_violation" almost everyday, no matter what Im doing - browsing the Net, using iTunes, even when Im using Microsoft Office for my assignments.
I've tried many solutions suggested: updating software & drivers, and reinstalling the windows; nothing works. Instead, more problem arised throughout these 2 years: my screen starts to flash, sometimes I cant even turn my computer on (power button on with a black, turned on, screen). I cant update my windows - "Failure configuring Windows updates, Reverting changes" and got stuck in the update loop.
I'm scared to do anything with this laptop now, even typing this "problem discription". I stored every files into the Dropbox for safety purposes. I save my Word documents every minutes, try to run as less programme as I could.
I've been wondering if this is a hardware problem, a serious one. Some of my classmates also got this Laptop from the University Scheme as well, most of them reported with the same issue (especially for the screen/display issue). With the notorious HP's repair and warranty service, I'm discouraged to sent my Laptop to them. I've even heard that I'll be charged even I'm still under warranty.

1. The scrolling, as far as I've been able to determine, is by using the slide bar to the right of most diplays. There are no up or down arrows that allow slow movement
2. The top and botton toolbars are not visible. The top one appears when you point the arrow to the top of the screen but the same doesn't work well if at all pointing the cursor to the bottom.

Has lock rotation been accidentally enabled within the control centre? If you swipe up the screen is there a circle with a lock symbol & if so is is greyed out or white - if white it is enabled.

Can you please describe what happens when you try to install Skype? I've found one common issue people have is that they don't actually fully install it - a lot of people download it, open the downloaded image, and run it from there - and dont actually ever copy it to their Applications folder, so next time they look for it, it can't be opened. Try again from scratch - go to the Skype website, download the file, if it doesn't automatically display the Skype disk image on your Desktop, go to your Downloads folder, locate the Skype download and double-click it to open, then, open a new Finder window and drag the Skype application from inside the disk image to your Applications folder. Once that's done you can trash the disk image. Go to your Applications folder, find Skype and launch it. Let me know if you get stuck.
As John says, it would be very helpful to know exactly which Mac you have. If its a laptop, you probably have a MacBook Pro, not a Mac Pro, which is a very large, heavy silver box and not amenable to being dragged around Australia!

You're not telling us how you created that bootable flash drive. You're also not using a reasonable title for your thread. Please revise the title to give an indication on what the problem actually is.

I'm having similar issues. The iPhone4's face time works just as it always did but the iPad4 is not working. I can place a call but it won't connect, others can call and it rings but never connects. I've signed in and out of iTunes, removed and reinstalled the wifi, hard restart, and anything I can think of. It's driving me nuts!

The specific package it was on was called jre7-openjdk-headless.
I was confused, so I just used pacman -Rs to remove it. When I did, this error came up:

I also wanted to say that I am new to Arch, and sort of new to Linux (I've been using it for about a year and a half) so I may get a little annoying because of that.

Should I uncomment those 2 lines? I live in the US, and isnt that the US locale? Im still a little confused on that though, and if it makes a difference, I live in the Eastern time zone.
Regarding OpenJDK, I installed ca-certificates-java and then typed in the command:
$ sudo pacman -S jre7-openjdk jdk7-openjdk
Then this came up(I'm assuming it's not a big deal):

So I canceled installing those 2 packages and installed java-rhino by itself and it gave me 2 provider packages: openjdk6 and jre7-openjdk-headless. I seleced the latter since I want to have version 7, not 6

After download the icon says the exe has moved; this happened after I tried to install the yahoo upgrade?

I have had Firefox on this partion for several months. Yahoo indicated that I had to upgrade Firefox. It gave me a toolbar that I didn't want and couldn't remove. I uninstalled Mozilla. I have tried unsuccessfully to reinstall Firefox, including trying an older version. It goes through the process. When finished, the icon is a box, When i click on it, it defaults to have it deleted. It has a short message that says :

Tylerdowner, thanks for your reply. However, that's not it. I ended up solving the problem. The computer was bought for me by a business associate. The individual who he bought it from set up the computer for him. So the download was going to the default partition. I did a "custom" instillation and changed the name to me. It then installed properly.

HP Stream 13 tried clean install windows 10. Big Problem

EDIT: I have am HP Stream 13 that came with 8.1 The hard drive ont hese things is not large enough to compleate the upgrade to windows 10. So i preformed a clean install from a USB. Now i have 10 and it is not activated. NOW I read that you MUSST preform the upgrade first in order for windows to detect your hardware and register it as valis for the free windows 10. BUT since upgrade was not posible I have a windows 8.1 key that is useless since there is no service to change the key to a windows 10 key.. This is insane. these laptops are being advertisd with the free upgrade to windows 10 yet are not able to be upgraded. Not sure what to do now. I am running a new HP stream 13 touchscreen with windows 8.1 I want to upgrade to windows 10 before I am back to school (before i have to install all kinds of software and files) Obciously the Stream does not have enough SSD left to preform the upgrade. I have created a clean install USB thumb drive but am worried about using it. From what i have read the recovery partition that is not deleteable houses files that the system accesses. When i do a Clean install wiping the C drive (but not the partition) will everything work? will i loose the use of that partition space forever? and lastly I used a program to access my windows key since it is located in the bios not on a sticker but I want to know if anyone else has done this and did it auto detect? or did they run in to any problems. I do have a USB recovery that i can use if i must to windows 8.1 I installed 10 from a USB and it is workign fine other than it is now saying my KEY isnt valid for this clean install. How do i convert my 8.1 key to a key that will work for 10? I cant see myself buying a new key from microsoft when the laptop was sold with an advert saying free upgrade to 10. It isnt posible to do a upgrade because of the space required for the upgrade to do its work. this is a real pain.

Hi, 1. You can have this option: create a Recovery media (USB key) then delete the Recovery partition, this will give you more room.2. Not 100% work unless Windows 10 or you can dind all drivers for your computer. Again, to get more space, you can delete Recovery partition but please create a Recovery set/media first.3. I upgraded 5 laptops on weekend inluding 2 HP laptops. I used tool to get the keys by Windows 10 upgrade (not clean install) could detect the keys in BIOS. I still have few more laptops and my children laptops I will upgrade. I won't do clean install because I don't want to spend time to re-install all programs/applications again. Regards.

J2EE already installed - will this cause a problem

I would like to download JSC, but am a little apprehensive since I already have J2EE 1.4 and pointbase installed on my machine. I have searched FAQ and there is no mention that JSC optionally installs these components and I don't wish to ruin my current environment. Are the J2EE and pointbase installed automatically with JSC?

Yes, the are installed with JSC.
Areas that could be a problem are the settins (if any) of your CLASSPATH and PATH.
Also, port conflict with both pointbase and the app server if they are running.
On my install, I removed the prior versions to be safe, but if you were carefull with the above issues, it should not be a problem. It is the same app server and point base though, and they can be run outside of the IDE for other work you may be doing...

Trying to install Arch Linux on a HP-dv2000 laptop

I am able to start up from, the CD no problem. I get the Arch Linux menu. What I think is the problem is maybe a resolution issue because as I go to install it, the screen looks wonky and I can't see the command line properly. I know when I install Ubuntu for example, the installation screen looks off to one side. Only after installing the nvidia driver after successfully installing Ubuntu does the screen look the way it supposed to.
I think the same think is happening here when trying to install Arch Linux. Any suggestions on how I can resolve this? This is a big deal for me because for the first time, I think I am going to learn a ton of stuff about Arch Linux. I am willing to take the plunge following the beginner's guide along the way.

ArchLinux is designed to run whether in VirtualBox or on a real machine.
If you have a TV connector plugged in it will chop some regular lines at the bottom to make up for the difference in TV resolution.
There are a couple of packages related to nvidia hardware, nouveau is one of them. Just do a pacman -Ss nvidia for possibilities of things you might need to install. Your nvidia hardware is a little newer, so probably nvidia is the package you'll need instead of nouveau.
Are you using X? When you install the proper xf86-video-* driver it shouldn't have any problems with X. If modesetting is turned off, then some resolutions may not be made available (especially in Gnome), so it is best to keep it turned on if at all possible (kernel default).

At Apple Store this is handled with Replacement iPhone exactly like yours. If there is AppleCare or Warranty it will be covered, otherwise there will be a charge of $150 - $199 depending on iPhone model. If iPhone 5 it will be covered. If you want to try Virtual Home Button. Settings App > General > Accessibility > Assistive Touch > ON > tap new white screen button > Home.
