DPS11g: [Original error=52] Unable to retrieve backend SEARCH connection

Directory Proxy 11g
We get, on a random basis the following two errors....
Err1: SEARCH RESPONSE err=52 msg="Unable to process the search request. Reason: [Original error=52] Unable to retrieve a backend SEARCH connection."
Err2: [Original error=52] Unable to retrieve a backend BIND connection
The following sun blog suggested increasing max connection setting from 1024 or change the connectionPoolTimeoutInMillisec under cn=config.
http://blogs.sun.com/sin/entry/unable_to_retrieve_a_backend. We do not think the max connections are getting exhausted, so will try the connectionPoolTimepout setting.
Would like to know if this is experienced by anyone else and if so, what type of configuration tuning resolved this error.
[email protected]

My DPS configuration is as follows:
Datasources: ds-p1,ds-p2,ds-p3,ds-p4,ds-p5
DataSourcePools: cal-pool(p1,p2,p3), cas-pool(p4,p5) , sync-pool (p1,p2) [note: sync is failover , other pools are proportional)
DataViews: Root (all suffixes)
ConnectionHandlers: cas-handler, cas-handler, sycn-handler
We have two DPS instances in the cluster and are in production. We run into this "Unable to Retrieve" error about 15 to 20 times in 24hrs. Total operations are in 600K range for the 24hrs duration. The error is quite random. I do not see any exhaustion of max-connections per data source in cn=monitor.

  • DPS6: Unable to retrieve a backend SEARCH connection to process the search

I have installed and configured DPS 6 but I cannot get it to proxy through to our back-end Sun DS 5.2 servers. The error message I get is:
Error while reading entry  [LDAP: error code 1 - Unable to retrieve a backend SEARCH connection to process the search request]As I am not familiar with the DP server I maybe making a simple mistake and would appreciate any pointers.
    Background:
I have installed the DPS 6 on both a Windows 2000 SP4 server and on a Windows XP SP2 computer from the Sun Java Identity Management Suite v5 package.
I installed DS Core Server, DS EE Command-line utilities, and DPS Core Server and I selected "Configure manually after installation".
On the Win XP computer the installation path was:

    Hi,
The error message indicates (not very clearly I agree) that DPS could handled the request but could not contact the appropriate Directory Server (no connection).
There are several possible reasons for this.
First is directory1.example.com a valid fully qualified domain name on your machine. I.e. does this name resolve into an IP address ?
Second the host:port used for directory1.example.com is 636 which is the default secure LDAP port. This implies that you probably wanted to have a secure connection between DPS and the Directory Servers.
Well, dpconf has no way to specify that the port is intended to be a secure one. And will always consider that the port specified is the regular LDAP port. (I opened a bug about this and I hope it'll be fixed in 6.1).
Secure connections and information must be configured afterward.
To configure SSL between DPS and an ldap-data-source, please refer to the Administration Guide : <http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-0995/6n3cq3b3q?a=view>
As for the jmxmp issue, it looks like the JDMK component on Windows was not installed. Did you install it with an Administrative account ?
Could you try to uninstall and re-install ?
    Regards,
    Ludovic.

  • 6024E - Error 10846: Unable to retrieve data fast enough error?

I am using a PCMCIA DAQ 6024E on a Dell Latitude C610 (1Ghz) - I'm trying to do Double buffered analog acquisition over 4 channels
Whenever I try to run the application (VC++6) i get "Error 10846 - Unable to retrieve data from the backgound acquisition buffer fast enough..."
I have tried the sample program "Double-Buffered Asynchronous Scanning in Microsoft Visual C++ with NI-DAQ" downloaded from the NI website - has the same result: Error 10846...
I just need to sample 4 channels at 1kHz continuously, extracting the data every 250ms max - are the following settings sensible:
    i16 iChan = 0;
    i16 iNumChans = 4;
    u32 ulCount = 2000
    i16 iUnits = 0;
    f64 dSampRate = 4000.0;
    f64 d
    ScanRate = 1000.0;
    static i16 piBuffer[2000] = {0};
    static i16 piHalfBuffer[1000] = {0};
Tried loads of different variations - as well as stopping all other apps running and removing everything from inside the acquisition loop - don't know what to try next. Can anyone help? Cheers!

    Hi,
The error you are getting is due to the fact that your application is not emptying the PC buffer fast enough so new data overwrites old data before they are copied to the application allocated memory. You can try increasing the buffer size and/or reducing the Scan rate, whichever possible.
    Regards,
    RamziH.

    Hi,
    SharePoint 2013 SP1 + Sep 2014 CU and SQL Server 2012 SP1
i have created search service application using power shell and also using central administration but both times i am getting following error message when access search service application.
Unable to retrieve topology component health states. This may be because the admin component is not up and running
Pls guide how to fix it
    thx
    iffi

    Hi Imughal,
This issue can be caused by many reasons, please check ULS log for detailed error message.
If the issue is caused by Event ID: 6482 error “A call to SSPI failed, see inner exception”, then
it can be caused by the following reasons:
The timer service account is trying to communicate with HostController service  and generates 'SSPI  Connect' call demanding SPN to be created for target services Identity, if no SPN is found.
The Hostcontroller service's NodeRunner process is limited to use restricted amount of RAM.
Then please follow the steps in the link below for solving this issue:

  • CVU ERROR:Unable to retrieve database release version

Hi all, I want to install RAC on three nodes, but when I run "cluvfy" as ORACLE user, I got errors:
    ./runcluvfy.sh stage -pre crsinst -n nrac1,nrac2,nrac3 -verbose
    ERROR:
Unable to retrieve database release version.
    Verification cannot proceed.
but the ROOT user can run it with few errors , why?
    how can I do ?

I was getting this same mysterious error immediately after a successful CRS install. The command I was running was "runcluvfy.sh stage -pre dbinst -n node1" from my stage directory. All previous executions worked correctly. My thought now is that the CRS install added JRE files that interrupt its paths; still not sure though.
The MetaLink article referenced above was very helpful in the end but only after I paid special attention to the wording at the very bottom. Originally, I dismissed the article because it is primarily for Solaris; while we are using Red Hat AS 4 update 5. However, in the very last sentence it states the following:
"Note: If you encounter same error for cluvfy stage -pre crsinst -n node on Linux x86-64 platform before CRS installation, please check if jdk 1.5 is installed. cluvfy works with jdk 1.4. Please install jdk 1.4 or install CRS and run cluvfy from CRS installation."
Ah, we had also installed JSE 6. And sure enough executing 'java -version' showed that it was picking up the path to JSE 6 not the 1.4.
So, following the note in the above article, I did two things. First, I changed the CV_HOME variable to $ORACLE_HOME/bin and ran 'which cluvfy' to verify the correct location. Second, I executed "cluvfy.sh stage -pre dbinst -n node1". It worked!

    Hi,
Check on this note also : Purchasing Reports Fail When Changing Output To XML REP-0002 REP-271504897 REP-57054 (Doc ID 1452608.1)
If you cant reproduce the issue on other instance, apply the patch on the test instance and verify all the funcionality related to the patch works OK. Then move the patch to production. Or you can clone the prod environment to test the patch.

  • How do I fix this error: DF024: Unable to preserve original file at ... Error 32 The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.(Seq 1352).  ?

I am installing creative the cloud Illustrator desktop app on a machine with windows 7 64 bit running in a domain environment.  The download starts and takes about runs for a bout 10 minutes and then stops with the error: DF024: Unable to preserve original file at "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CC 2014\Support Files\Contents\Windows\AdobeLinguistic.dll" Error 32 The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.(Seq 1352)
I am logged in as a network administrator and there are no other apps except a web browser (Chrome) running.  There are no other users logged into the machine.
How can I see what other process is using the needed file so that I can fix it?
    Thanks

MelissaB34 it looks like you already are reviewing your installation log files but you can find more information at Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cc.html.  From the error you have posted it appears that your current User account is either unable to update C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CC 2014\Support Files\Contents\Windows\AdobeLinguistic.dll or does not have sufficient file permissions to do so.  Since you mentioned you are on a domain please ensure that you are working with your I.T. department and have correct access to this directory.
You may want to also consider logging in under a local administrator account to see if you face the same difficulties.  This would help you determine if you are facing a file corruption issue or file permission issue.

  • I suddenly am unable to retrieve my emails.  I discussed this with my Internet provider, but still get an error message and can't access my emails.  Any suggestions???

I am unable to retrieve my emails since yesterday.  I called Time Warner Cable, my Internet provider, but they could not help me; they stated that the settings had changed, since they were upgrading.  I adjusted the settings, but still get an error message:
              Alert
There may be a problem with the mail server or network.  Verify the settings for account "Mail 1" or try again.
The server returned the error:  The connection to the server "smtp.roadrunner.com" on port 110 timed out.
I changed the server, and the port, as Time Warner Cable tech rep recommended, but to no avail.  They recommended I delete my current email account and recreate it, but that I check with Apple first, because I might lose my contact list (and any email messages I'd previously saved!?).  They suggested Apple might be able to tell me how to not lose the contacts, emails, profile.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, what Interface are you using, & which one are you checking?
Each Interface will have it's own settings.
Though all of these steps may or may not be needed, I'm including them all.
Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712
    10.7 & 10.8…
System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.
    10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x instructions...
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
    10.4 instructions...
Is that Interface dragged to the top of Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations.
    If using Wifi/Airport...
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
For 10.5/10.6/10.7/10.8, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
(There may be better or faster DNS numbers in your area, but these should be a good test).
    Click OK.

  • Request Error - The server encountered an error processing the request. The exception message is 'Unable to retrieve the requesting user's identity

I'm trying to create an Orchestrator Connector in Service manager, It is not going well.
    The most resent alarm is
          <p class="heading1">Request Error</p>
<p>The server encountered an error processing the request. The exception message is 'Unable to retrieve the requesting user's identity.'
For the Orchestrator Web Service URL: I have http://Server_Name:81/Orchestrator2012/Orchestrator.svc/
I created a new Run As account that uses Windows authentication, when I test the connection thats the alarm I get.

    Hi,
Can you access the URL using a browser? Does it work with the credentials used for the RunAs account?
Strange error message though - are the account you are running the console with, present in the SCSM CMDB?

  • AAE - Error -  Unable to retrieve MappingInterfaceLocalHome from JNDI while

    Hi Friends,
We have an interface which runs in AAE.  (Advanced Adapter Engine, PI 7.1, EHP1)
    Sender is SOAP, Async Call.
We have used the condition to determine receiver. One Receiver is SOAP (by remove proxy) and another one receiver is RFC.
When we check the messages, in message monitoring, database overview, those are failed with error "
Unable to retrieve MappingInterfaceLocalHome from JNDI while invoking the mapping"
    Detailed error is as below:
Execution of mapping "http:/bigbiz.com/xi/MDM/IM_MATERIALUPDATE" failed. Reason: MappingException: Unable to retrieve MappingInterfaceLocalHome from JNDI while invoking the mapping, NamingException: Exception during lookup operation of object with name localejbs/MappingBean, cannot resolve object reference., javax.naming.NamingException: Error occurs while the EJB Object Factory trying to resolve JNDI reference Reference Class Name: Type: clientAppName Content: sap.com/com.sap.xi.services Type: interfaceType Content: local Type: ejb-link Content: MappingBean Type: jndi-name Content: MappingBean Type: local-home Content: com.sap.aii.ibrun.sbeans.mapping.MappingAccessLocalHome Type: local Content: com.sap.aii.ibrun.sbeans.mapping.MappingAccessLocal com.sap.engine.services.ejb3.runtime.impl.refmatcher.EJBResolvingException: Cannot start applicationsap.com/com.sap.xi.services; nested exception is: java.rmi.RemoteException: [ERROR CODE DPL.DS.6125] Error occurred while starting application locally and wait.; nested exception is: com.sap.engine.services.deploy.exceptions.ServerDeploymentException: [ERROR CODE DPL.DS.5106] The application .....
I confuse why suddenly this error comes, since it was working fine earlier. The message status is now 'To Be Delivered'.
Can you kindly clarify friends how to fix this ?
    Kind regards,
    Jegathees P.

    Hi,
PI 7.1 Ehp1 receiver determination can be done conditionally by selecting operation specific...
I don't think this error is related to AAE ...looks like this error is related to server ...
check other mappings also whether they are executed with out any error ?
this is related to module lookup error...need to check with the basis
