Dreamweaver hangs when using double slash file includes?

When I use Dreamweaver CS6 for Web Development I experience problems when using code with double slashes, like the following:
<script src="//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.11.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
Everytime I try and edit the page Dreamweaver will hang maybe 30 to 60 seconds, I believe its trying to locate the include locally which will always fail.
I have turned dynamic discovery off but it still happens, is there a fix for this issue?

My question is why does Dreamweaver hang and why can we not prevent that from happening?
To be completely honest, it hangs because DW isn't programmed to handle it the way we'd all like. As far as keeping it from happening, you "could" develop with the http there. I would suggest using a php include to add the link into your <head> section as the http version during development. That way, when you go live with it, you only need to change it once for the entire site. It's not the best solution, but it should do the trick and get DW to behave, until Adobe fixes the problem.
You can help bump this issue up in the list of bug fixes by adding your voice here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform

  • Open PDF's in new window in document library when using "Find a file" search

    I need to be able to open PDF's in a new window from a document library when using the "Find a file" search built into the document library "All documents" view. I currently have the following javascript on the page:
    _spBodyOnLoadFunctionNames.push("setTargetBlank()");
    function setTargetBlank()
    { $("a[href$='.pdf']").removeAttr('onclick').attr("target", "_blank");
    This works great when going to the document library and navigating through the folders then clicking on a link.
    The problem is when someone goes to the document library then uses the "Find a file" search and then they click on a link. The "Find a file" search does not do a postback (reload) of the page, therefore my javascript to find the PDF links
    and make them open in a new window does not run for the links on the page.
    I have read the following article but this does not seem to offer a solution that will work in this situation for SharePoint 2013 (Office 365): http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/7ad3224c-3165-47ae-95bc-4f3928e2f9a8/opening-document-library-pdf-in-a-new-window-sharepoint-2013?forum=sharepointgeneral
    I suppose the idea solution would be to somehow tap into the event that is fired when using "Find a file" search to run my javascript and update the links for the search results.
    Can anyone offer any solutions to this issue?

    Hi,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to open PDF files in a new window from a document library when using the "Find a file" search.
    As you said, the "Find a file" search does not do a postback (reload) of the page, therefore JavaScript to find the PDF links and make them open in a new window does not run for the links on the page.
    I recommend to use JS link to achieve the goal. Create a JavaScript override file and upload the JavaScript file to the Master Page Gallery, and then set the JS Link property of the document library web part to point to the JavaScript file.
    Here are some links about the JS link in SharePoint 2013 for you to take a look:

    What kind of advertisement?  In Adobe Reader?  Can you post a screenshot of that: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1070933
    Regarding the crash, can you try disabling Protected Mode through the registry: download, unzip, then run the registry script https://files.acrobat.com/a/preview/49eeb48b-07c5-4502-984c-8a25259914fa

    Running Windows XP (even fully patched up with SP3 and latest fixes), you probably will have an increasing risk of Windows and IE being attacked. Windows XP has been getting security patches every month for over a decade. So it seems likely that people will continue to discover vulnerabilities in Windows XP that, over time, will be exploited (i.e., used in attacks).
    Windows 8.1? For a good experience, you probably would be better off getting a new computer than installing 8.1 on a system that is several years old. I realize not everyone's budget permits.
    What else can you do? It remains useful and important to keep your third party applications, such as Firefox, and your browser add-ons, such as Flash, up-to-date. It's also a good idea to run quality security software. And practice safe browsing habits like avoiding questionable websites and peer-to-peer networking, and being suspicious of email attachments.

  • LabView (8.2) hangs when using I/O operations with traditional NI-DAQ 7.4.4 after aborting LabView program

    Hello!
    We have the following problem:
    LabView (8.2) hangs when using I/O operations with traditional NI-DAQ 7.4.4 after aborting LabView program
    We freshly installed LabView 8.2 (2006) and NI-DAQ 7.4.4 on a PC running Windows XP (Service Pack 3). We built a larger vi that remotely controls a traditional NI-DAQ card (AT-AO-10) on a second PC via NI-VISA 5.0.3. We were successfully running this program until a power failure caused the first computer to crash. After this crash we were unable to start the program again: LabView freezes while loading the vi. LabView itself can be started but freezes when adding I/O operations from the NI-DAQ palette to a block diagram.
    We have tried to re-install NI-DAQ 7.4.4, but it did not help. We then re-installed all NI software, but still no improvement. In the end we decided to reinstall ALL software, first Windows XP, then LabView and finally NI-DAQ 7.4.4. This worked. However, after a few days of running the program we had to abort LabView via Windows Task manager and afterward we again experienced the same problem as before: LabView freezes when loading the program.
    Obviously, we cannot afford to reinstall Windows every time. Are there any known Windows XP / NI-DAQ issues that might cause the freezing of LabView? We would be very grateful for any idea.
    Best regards,
    Matthias

    Hello Sprice,
    Browse the shipping examples according to “Directory Structure” and then select
    DAQ to find the Traditional DAQ examples.
    There a lot of examples that are written for counters (Counter >>
    daq-stc.llb >> Count Edges (DAQ-STC).vi).

  • CS5 Photomerge hanging when using many files

    Hello,
    I have managed to work around the issue, but it's annoying nonetheless.
    The basic problem is that I've started creating very wide and tall Bokeh Panoramas or 'The Brenzier Method' http://www.ryanbrenizer.com/category/brenizer-method/
    From Lightroom I select the images I want and 'merge to panorama in PS'.  When I use say 2 - 30 images it's fine.  However when I use say 160 (ridiculous I know) it will hang when merging the files, processor usage stays on 13%, but the progress dialogue bar doesn't animate.  I tried it through photomerge and 'align all layers' from the edit menu.  I reduced this ridiculous amount to 60 and if I chose the 'vignette removal' option on the photomerge dialogue it will hang on this process after starting to create the panorama.  If I don't do the vignette, it will create the panorama.
    I know that it will depend upon the complexity of the merge, it's just annoying that it would fail whereas Microsoft ICE will complete the panorama without fail, it just may be of a lesser accuracy due to parallax.
    Other than using less images and attempting to overlap correctly, is there much else that can be done?
    I'm using an up to date version of CS5 64bit windows.  running on a 16gb Core i7 2600k.  The merged final image occupies 13gig of ram.  I have the scratch disc on a spare 2tb drive with about 1.5 tb free.
    Paul

    Mr_Fujisawa, I just wanted to come back on here and thank you for opening my mind to the "Brenizer Method", which I had not heard of before.  I've been experimenting with it today and enjoying the results!  Up to now I put effort into getting everything in focus all across my panos, which are generally landscapes.  It didn't dawn on me to use stitching on subjects up close.

  • Applications Hang when selecting / attaching a file using Spotlight

    Hi,
    Having a problem since upgrading to Snow Leopard with applications 'hanging' when trying to attach a file using Spotlight. I can repeatedly cause the failure in Mail and Safari - and probably others as well - but these two applications I use most often and need to attach files to most often.
    When I select "Attach a file", and use Spotlight to find the file to attach, the file dialog box closes and the attachment is apparently made - seconds later the spinning wheel appears and the dock tells me "Application Not Responding."
    Any ideas as to how / why this is happening? Help make it stop!
    Thank you,
    Gordon.

    OK Search box
    Mine is OK so something is screwy..
    In your Finder Prefs > Advanced > When performing a search drop down. Search this Mac seems to be default and the one I have set. Have you got it set to search the current folder or use the previous search instead?
    I'd then pull out the com.apple.finder.plist from your user Library > Preferences to the desktop and let finder make a new one. If all is OK trash the old one.
    Relaunch Finder by holding down the option key while right clicking Finder icon in the dock. Relaunch will be on the bottom of the context menu.

  • [SOLVED]Xorg crash with some applications when using double screen

    Hi,
    I have a TV that I often use to watch dvd from my computer, and to do that I've set it up as a second screen in my xorg.conf, but on a daily basis I use a xorg.conf file with only my main screen. Up until last week I was able to use my second screen without problem, but yesterday I tried and it crashed instantly.
    So I ran a few tests, amsn and vlc seems to be 2 applications that makes X crash (though there might be other, but I seem to be able to use chromium firefox and ktorrent just fine).
    My WM is not to blame, I've launched X without any WM and vlc still makes X crash.
    The problem does not happen when using a single screen.
    I thought that my xorg.conf might be the problem, so I used nvidia-settings to create a new one, but that didn't change anything.
    Here are my xorg.conf used for dual screen, and the logfile from the Xorg crash:

    Sorry this doesn't really help with the Xinerama problem, but since you are using the nvidia driver, have you considered using Twinview instead? You could do composite stuff too with Twinview - last I knew, Xinerama had problems with things that want to use compositing. I don't know how your setup is but if you're not set on using Xinerama, it might be an option to consider.

  • Application hangs when using ProcessStartInfo and Process.WaitForExit.

    I've looked on different threads about this, but all of them uses the Process.RedirectStandardOutput = True, which I don't.
    I'm trying to open a process (console application, not made by me) to make it compile a special .acs file to a .o file. The structure is simple, the only argument is the file you want to compile.
    But on certain files my application hangs when trying to open the process. Here's my code:
    Dim p As New Process
    Dim ps As New ProcessStartInfo
    ps.Arguments = SavePath 'Path example: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Zandronum\File.acs"
    ps.FileName = Path.Combine(System.AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory(), "Script Compilers\Zandronum\acc.exe")
    ps.CreateNoWindow = False
    ps.ErrorDialog = False
    ps.UseShellExecute = True
    ps.WindowStyle = ProcessWindowStyle.Hidden
    ps.WorkingDirectory = Path.GetDirectoryName(SavePath)
    Dim ErrorCaptured As Boolean = False
    Try
    p = Process.Start(ps)
    Catch ex As Exception
    ErrorCaptured = True
    End Try
    If ErrorCaptured = False Then
    p.WaitForExit()
    End If
    If ErrorCaptured = True Then
    Exit Sub
    End If
    Thanks!
    //Visual Vincent
    EDIT:
    For starting the process I use pretty much the same code that another guy made in C#. And his code is working perfectly...
    // Setup process info
    processinfo = new ProcessStartInfo();
    processinfo.Arguments = args;
    processinfo.FileName = Path.Combine(this.tempdir.FullName, info.ProgramFile);
    processinfo.CreateNoWindow = false;
    processinfo.ErrorDialog = false;
    processinfo.UseShellExecute = true;
    processinfo.WindowStyle = ProcessWindowStyle.Hidden;
    processinfo.WorkingDirectory = this.workingdir;
    try
    process = Process.Start(processinfo);
    catch(Exception e)
    // Unable to start the compiler
    General.ShowErrorMessage("Unable to start the compiler (" + info.Name + "). " + e.GetType().Name + ": " + e.Message, MessageBoxButtons.OK);
    return false;
    // Wait for compiler to complete
    process.WaitForExit();
    I hope your day has been better than yesterday, but that it's worse than tomorrow...
    Please mark as answer if I solved your problem. :)

    Hi,
     Have you compared the FileNames and Arguments of ones that work and ones that don`t? Is there any difference in them such as the ones that work do not contain blank spaces in the FileName or arguments and the ones that do work don`t contain blank spaces
    in them? If you find that to be the problem then you need to add Quotes to the beginning and end of the FileName or Arguments.
     My first guess is the Arguments needs the Quotes like this because, i see blank spaces in your example of the Arguments.
    ps.Arguments = Chr(34) & SavePath & Chr(34)
    If you say it can`t be done then i`ll try it
    This actually made it. I had forgotten that blank spaces makes it a new argument, silly me. I don't use process arguments that often. ;)
    Thanks alot!

  • Performance degradation when using proxy.pac file with FF ESR 31

    With Bug 923458 many people complained about a performance issue compared to other browsers when a proxy.pac file is used.
    The issue initially reported with the bug was resolved for ESR25 according to the statistics, but the general performance issue remained.
    I had the same issue with ESR24 and ESR31.3 .
    I was testing with www.bild.de.
    It took about 40 seconds to load the content completely. Without the proxy.pac file it took about 10 seconds.
    I added a few alerts to the pac-File in order to get logs within the console for some analyses.
    I found the following:
    1. the pac.file is executed for every request, no matter if the host changed or not.
    With us the pac-File checks for IP-Adresses and host-names only.
    It is not necessary to execute the pac file for each and every request to the same remote host.
    So the question is, if we are able to disable this behaviour via about:config?
    2. the content referenced by www.bild.de seems to be loaded sequentially and with a delay
    The overall time consumed by the proxy.pac file executions was about 4 Seconds compared to the 40 seconds of overall load time.
    So I checked the delay between executions of the pac-file and found an overall delay of 40 seconds. I expect that the delay between the calls to the pac-file is caused by the retrieval of contents from the remote host.
    So why are the requests executed sequentially?
    Hint: Due to the times necessary for executing the pac-file and downloading the contents from the remote host, I would expect the logs generated by my alerts to be mixed (especially if myIpAddress took 1 Second). But the log is cleanly ordered by URL. (see attachment)

    Hi guigs2,
    thanks for your response. As we only use myIpAddress once within our pac-File and only rely on dnsDomainIs(), ==-Comparisons and shExpMatch() and the sum of all pac-Executions was about 4 seconds compared to 40 seconds overall load time, I do not think that dns resolving is our issue.
    I checked the seetings of the configuration you mentioned above. It is set to "false", so the client would try the resolve the dns names. Our admin told, that we do not use socks-Proxies, only http-Proxies.
    Regarding sequential load of the contents included on www.bild.de from other web sites, I attached a screenthot.
    Please note the red highlights. These show the start time in milliseconds of the pac-execution. I added this as a kind of id which represents a unique identifier together with the URL if the log items are mixed. But they are not, instead they are cleanly ordered by URL (for all 360 pac-file calls).
    Moreover in the picture you can see the delay between the end of the last pac-file execution and the next one (blue timestamp in millisonds compared to the red timestamp of the next row saying "entered proxy.pac"). The delay sum up exactly to the 40 seconds the FF took to load the page completely.
    Alone the fragment shown represents a delay of 630ms between the pac-file executions. If the contents would be loaded in parallel, there should be no such delay.

  • Dreamweaver hangs when opening

    Running DW MX 2004, with updater 7.0.1 applied, on a Sony PC
    with Win XP, DW hangs when opening. I have waited as long as 10
    minutes to see it it every responds, and it doesn't.
    I have to CTRL-ALT-DEL and terminate the application. When
    re-opening, it opens normally.
    Not connected to a network, site files on local C drive.
    It seems to have started happening after applying the 7.0.1
    updater.
    Anyone have any solutions to this?

    Hi JillTW,
    DW 7 had some serious time lags. Search the
    Macromedia.Dreamweaver groups on
    Google's groups for slow DW and look for postings over a year
    old. The fixes
    they discuss may help solve your lockup problem.
    If you are working on a large site, 10 minutes might not be
    enough time for
    DW 7 to resolve cache issues. Look at your Task Manager to
    see if it is
    working (high cpu usage on Dreamweaver.exe) or not
    responding. Even if it is
    not responding a high CPU usuage may mean it is in progress
    and just
    ignoring the keyboard/mouse.
    Also, you might want to try to clear the site cache (or just
    check its
    size - a little one should not take long to process even if
    corupt) before
    starting DW. Adobe tells how to remove the cache here:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=5989f7f4
    Look for the cache in: C:\Documents and
    Settings\<user>\Application
    Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver MX 2004\Configuration\SiteCache
    The file is named: {yoursitenamehere}.dws
    I suggest moving it to another folder for safe keeping until
    you know if
    this is the problem.
    Upgrading to DW8 is a major improvement in speed.
    Best of luck,

  • Help! Photoshop CS6 hangs when using brush, clone, healing brush tools etc on Mac

    I am having a big problem when using the new CS6 on my Mac (os x 10.7.4). When switching to a new tool, like a brush, or clone stamp, or healing brush etc, Photoshop hangs for about 20 seconds before resuming. It's not 3rd party plug-ins, because I get the same behaviour when I run using the shift key and third party plug-ins are disabled. It doesn't happen every time, but it happens frequently. I've heard that others have had similar problems... are there any solutions - is it a known bug?

  • Acrobat X hangs when using "Save as compressed pdf" function

    I have several users who, when working remotely over VPN, have Acrobat X hang when trying to use the "Save as compressed PDF" to save to either a network drive or to their local machine. The system works fine while in the office however. All other programs and save functionality is fine while connected to the VPN, and I am able to save files directly to the network share or local machine outside of Acrobat. I have removed and reinstalled Acrobat and the program will complete a save normally the first time it's used after the reinstalltion, but will then start failing and hanging again after that. I believe I am at v10.0.7.
    Any and all insight will be greatly appreciated!

    Hey Lori –
    Yes, that’s the option! Sorry don’t have a copy of the software on my own PC to verify against.

  • Dreamweaver hangs when opening document

    I am using Dreamweaver CS5, 11.0 Build 4964 on a MAC.
    I have a couple of pages that I was editing and then for no reason Dreamweaver decided to hang in the middle of editing. And now Dreamweaver will not open the document anymore. I just get the spinning beachball and have to force quit Dreamweaver.  Other co-workers can open the pages without any problems. I've checked the coding and don't see anything that would cause Dreamweaver to freak out.
    I've tried new preference files and adding resolveremoteurltoipaddress=FALSE to the Remote Downloads section of the prefs. Nothing works.  Anyone have any other suggestions as to why Dreamweaver just suddenly stops opening certain files?

    I'm trying to remember. I believe there was something in the HTML that Dreamweaver just didn't like. I don't think I ever figured out exactly what. I ended up working with the pages that crashed Dreamweaver in notepad.  It only ever happend to me on a page here or there not everything.
    I believe once I edited the page in notepad and got past the part that was freaking Dreamweaver out I could then work with the page without any issues.
    Not much help there...
