  • Disable Drill Down For Groups only except SubReport

    <p> </p><p>Hi All,</p><p>I have 10 subreports and also 5 Groups sections in one report (version CR 10 - VS.Net 2005)   </p><p>I need to disable drill down on Groups <strong>except SubReport </strong>. </p><p> </p><p>Thanks in advance for any solution </p><p> </p><p>-Harini </p>

Where are the subreports located? You mention you have 10 subreports and also 5 group sections. Are the subreports located in the page or report header/footer sections? Are there detail records in the groups? If not, then you don't need to supress drill-down, there is nothing to drill to. If there is, suppress the detail section. If a user drills on the groups, there will be no detailed information visible.
Typically, if you have multiple groups and want to supress drill-down but still display the first group, you can use the 'drilldowngrouplevel >1' statement in the section expert to conditionally suppress the group. Right click the group, select 'Section expert', and click the formula button (the button with the 'X-2' and a little pencil) next to 'Suppress (No Drill-Down) Then, enter drilldowngrouplevel >1. This should do the trick if you have your report structured this way. If not, please provide a little more detail.
    Thanks and good luck.

  • Disable orange highlighting when drilling down by group

    Hey All,
I am having an issue with a report that I am trying to publish (I did not design the report but need to get it fit for publication on our ERP). The report drills down by group (ie, company overall > department > employee) and for every drill down beyond the 'company overall', my group headers have an ugly and obtrusive orange highlighting that fills the entire text box (so that, say, the Human Resources page has the title, Human Resources, in a big orange box). It makes no difference if I manually set the color of the text box to white. Also, I have tried to manipulate through formulas the {@Department} (or {@Employee}) tag to no avail.
Terribly frustrating. Any hints? Is there something simple I am overlooking?
    Thanks!

  • How do I create a drill down for my summary data?

I have 7 fields of summary data with all having a common link called the customer account number.
I have tried the following steps several time carefully and was unable to get my drill down to work.
Insert menu > Group and chose the customer account number as my group field
copy and paste the summary fields to the group header ( which I now have hundreds of GH1)
Right click on the details section and chose Hide.
    Suppress the Group Footer
File Menu > Report options and check on Show All Headers on Drill Down.
I must be missing a step somewhere here.  I end up with no summary fields showing (to drill down into), and the customer account numbers showing.
Can some check this out for me?

    hi Michael,
you need a group to have drill down. you can't drill down on a report footer. if you can't group by these categories then you can't have drill down.
your other option is to create an on demand subreport that you can open. i would suggest that you go through a bunch of the e-learning tutorials on crystal reports here. after that go to the online help for crystal reports and use the search tab and search for "creating an on demand subreport"
you'd need to create an on demand subreport for each total that you are showing. again, please see the elearning topics especially on subreports, grouping. and then do follow the steps on on demand subreports in the online help.

  • Problem with drill down on hierarchy with data on diffrent levels

    Hello,
Im working on a project using oracle bi 10.1.3.4.1, and im kinda stuck with some problems.
I have a transaction table in which i have data about products, something like :
    prod_id
    amount1
    amount2
and a product hierarchy which is something like:
    prod_id
    prod_name
    parent_id
since bi doesnt support hierarchies, i had to faltten the hier table to somehing like this:
    prod_id
    lvl1_prod_id
    lvl2_prod_id
    lvl3_prod_id
    lvl4_prod_id
and use this as my hierarchy in oracle bi. thus when i drill to lvl3, it will find all the products which are decendents of lvl3 value and group them.
the problem is, that the hier tree is not even, one product data (in transaction table) can be for lvl4 and another for lvl2. so for a lvl2 product id's in level 3 and 4 will be null.
when i try to drill to lvl 4, it takes all the rows which have the selected value in column lvl4 and group them, and if lvl 4 is null, it would sum up all the rows that have no parent at lvl4...
i hope you understand... cause it is a bit complicated..
anyway i would eventually like to add a filter of != null to the column being drilled down.
but how do i know which column is it?
i cant add a != null filter to all the columns since most if not all of them will have null in some lvl (lvl 10 or so).
one suggested solution was to make a report for each lvl with the !=null filter on the report lvl, and use navigate instead of drilldown... but that would mean i have to make 10 reports for each "real" report... a big problem to maintain.
hope i was clear enough, any suggestions?
    thanks a lot!

    Hi Ingo,
Thanks for your reply. If I combine two objects in one objects then I cannot use that object for drill down in my report.
I want to drill down for both Key and Text.

  • IDA ALV - different behavior regarding "drill-down" for grouped attributes after upgrade to ERP 6.0 EHP7 SPS5

    Hello Experts,
we have  upgraded our Dev System to ERP 6.0 EHP 7 SPS5 (coming from SPS4).
We had implement an example with an IDA ALV. On SPS4 we could make a "drill-down" to the single lines of grouped attributes. Now with SPS5 this is not possible anymore if the grouping is done for more than one attribute.
On the following screenshot it scan be seen that the grouping is done over a Peril attribute and the Currency. I can only make a drill-down via the peril attribute, so that the aggregated values per currency are displayed. ON SPS4 it was possible to make a further drill-down for the currency attribute, so that the different single lines were visible which were part of the grouping/aggregation.
    SPS5 behavior:
    SPS4 behavior:
I did not found any new settings which steers the behavior. Also I did not found any note which gives a hint that this is a bug.
Does anyone know if the behavior for that was changed and why?
    Thx & Best regards,
    Florian

    Hi Florian,
it is related with the currency field and it seems to be a bug. Please open a ticket to get the problem fixed. The component is BC-WD-CMP-ALV.
    Cheers

  • Group Description in Drill down and grouping on field

I want to put a formula field for grouping, but I want to display some text(description) in group drill down.
My group field is numeric and I want to display text on right side of drill down report.

    Hi Seema,
In order to display a different group name you may try the below steps:
    -  Right click on the group and click on change Group option and then click on Options taband then check the box which says 'Customize Group Name Field'.
    - Now either 'choose from existing field' or 'use a formula as group name' to display the group description.
This would help you to display the appropriate description for that field.

  • Unable to utilize Drill-Down for all Filtered Dates in Xcelsius Engage 2008

Iu2019m very new to the Xcelsius Engage 2008 product and donu2019t understand what is needed to correct the drill-down problem encountered in a newly created dashboard.
The issue is with Drill-Down from a filtered chart.  For some reason, I am unable to correctly pick any data item from the chart located top of workspace to drill-down to the lower chart when selecting a month beyond Jan u201911.
Iu2019ve unhidden the Label Based Menu, List Box 1 and List Box 2 during attempt to find out why I am unable to drill-down when I select a month other than Jan u201911.  As youu2019ll see, when you u2018manuallyu2019 click in the unhidden List Box 2, the bottom chart is displaying the correct data.
Also - new to post for this forum - is there a way to attached the XLF to help with visual support to the problem?
    Thank you,
    Deborah

    Hi there and welcome.
First troubleshooting step is to add a spreadsheet component to your canvas so you can watch what's happening. Second, have a look at this step-by-step to make sure you're not missing any steps. http://blog.davidg.com.au/2011/04/xcelsius-interactivity-chart-drill-down.html
Can you select only Jan '11? Or only up to Jan '11? Are you selecting whole months or days?
Assuming that your second chart is filtering for this date, I would check that the formatting is correct. Try, for example, removing all formatting so that you're seeing 40668 instead of a date. Does that work?
Also, it can be helpful to post your version number. This can be found under Help > About Xcelsius and will something like 5.3.5.0

  • Drill down on posting date and Document number

    Hello Gurus,
In a Bex report, I am looking at account balance on a keydate for a G/L Account. When I drill down based on posting date I do not see any values for the keyfigure 'Account balance as on key-date'....But after I drill down on posting date --> document number I get to see values for thie key figure.
What is this strange behaviour? Kindly explain.
    Regards,
    KP

    Hi KK,
This may be due to the values/quantities having different UOM or currency for different documents/posting date. For example,  Usually when there are mixed values like this, the aggregated value is not displayed, instead a '*' is displayed in the report result. However there is a setting in BW where you can mention how to handle such mixed values.
So I suggest you first check the currencies for the amount at the posting date/document level(when you drill down). If they are different then check the settings in the transaction SPRO --> SAP Business Information Warehouse --> Report-relevant settings --> General Reporting settings in the Business Explorer --> Presenting the numeric value in the Business Explorer.
Here check the value maintained for 'Mixed Values'. If it is blank, then this is the reason that no value is displayed.

    Shilpa

  • Show detail of ALL groups in drill-down

I have a Drill-Down report with 3 groups. When drilling down on one of the 3rd level groups for details, is it possible to show the detail of ALL the 3rd level groups?
For instance, when drilling down on Group 2, I get:
    Group 1
         Group 2
              Group 3
              Group 3
Now when drilling down on one of the Group 3's above, I would like to get the details of both Group 3's (not just the group 3 I selected):
    Group 1
         Group 2
              Group 3
                   Details
                   Details
                   Etc.
              Group 3
                   Details
                   Etc.
    Thanks,
    Jsr

    Hi
If you apply individual group, it's not possible.
However if you apply only one group and apply hierarchical group sort then you can achieve it.
Please refer to Crystal Reports help and search for hierarchical group for more information.
    Hope this helps!!

  • AWM - drill down the data, possible ?

    hi guys,
i successfully deployed my data warehouse (dw) with owb10g. now, i want to check my dw for example by use a simple drill down function or something similiar. but how could i easily check my dw ??
i used the export-bridge in the owb client and opened the target schema in my analytic workspace manager (v10.2.0.2.0). but i only see the structure (metadata design) of the dw. i do not see the data (records) inside the dw and no drill down function with the data...
can anybody help me ? please give me a hint! thx!
    greetings
    s8472

i did a little bit try and error and it seems indeed that if name my dimension "DIM_TIME" oracle deploy a olap dimension of the type "time" and not normal.
(you can check the type at the oracle enterprise manager (OEM) at "Administration" - "OLAP Dimension" - "[Your Dimension]" - View type in tab "General".)
and if the dimension is type "time" it gives the error message in AWM viewing the dimension data. i think the prob is that defined layers and hierarchies in the dimension as i did create other normal dimension.
do anybody know something about rules how to name the dimensions or how to create a time dimension (maybe no layers allowes?) ?
    greetings

  • Unable to Multi Level Drill Down on Single Data Object in BAM Report

    Hi,
We need to have multi level drill down in a BAM report.
We are able to create single level drill down using 'Collapsed List' view in a Tiled Report, but unable to drill further.
    We are using BAM (11.1.1.2).
Please let us know the steps to do this, your input is highly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Edited by: user2917352 on May 4, 2011 11:21 PM

Have you used Dimension? By defining Dimensions, you can create multi level drill down on the same data object, in the same report.
    1. Define the Dimension in the data object
    2. In the Studio, choose Drilling tab under the report
    3. Drill Hierarchies will be available. Choose the Dimension
The drilling level will depend on the depth of the Dimension you have specified!

  • Web Intelligate Summer Report drill down and drill up problem

I use summary table and @aggreage_aware function to design a universy.  I want WI report shows highest level summary table data first, then drill down to next high summary table data.  But when I drill up back,  it still shows be next high summary table data.  I don't use the report to do any calculations.  I just want it shows different level data.
    Detail:
    I have three tables:
    1.  Month_Data table:  - Base fact data table.
    Year
    Quarter
    Month
    Department ID
    Supplier ID
    Score          -- Measure type
    2.  Quarter_Data table: - High level summary table.
    Year
    Quarter
    Department ID
    Supplier ID
    Score          -- Measure type
    3.  Year_Data table:  - Highest level summary table.
    Year
    Department ID
    Supplier ID
    Score          -- Measure type
I like to create a web intelligence report that shows data from year_data table:
    Year          Score
    2008          105
    2007          99
    2006          90
If I drill one level down, It will show data from quarter_data table:
    Year (example 2007)
    Quarter1     Score
    Quarter2     Score
    Quarter3     Score
    Quarter4     Score
If two level drill down, it will show data from month_data table:
    Quarter1
         Month1          Score
         Month2          Score
         u2026
         Month12                     Score.
No calculation needed on the report.
I will use follow steps to create a universe:
    1.  Three tables will be three classes.  The classes order is:
         Year_Data class;  Quarter_Data class; Month_Data class.
    2.  When I create universe, I join:
    Year_Data  class to   Quarter_data class:
Year to year                 1 to n
Department ID to Department ID          1 to n
Supplier ID to Supplier ID          1 to n
    Quarter_Data class to Month_Data class:
Year to Year               1 to n
Quarter to quarter               1 to n
Department ID to Department ID          1 to n
Supplier ID to Supplier ID          1 to n
    3.  Create a filter class with object Department ID and supplier ID.
    4.  I create two aggregate aware classes:
    Agg_dimension class:
         Year:    aggregate_aware(year_data.year, quarter_data.year, month_data.year)
         quarter: aggregate_aware(quarter_data.quarter, month_data.quarter)
         Month:     aggregate_aware(month_data.month);
    Agg_Measure class:
         Score: aggregate_aware(year_data.score, quarter_data.score, month_data.score)
    5.  I may re-define year, quarter, month and score as aggregate_aware function for objects in all classes:
         Year:     aggregate_aware(year_data.year, quarter_data.year, month_data.year)
         quarter: aggregate_aware(quarter_data.quarter, month_data.quarter)
         Month:     aggregate_aware(month_data.month);
         Score:   aggregate_aware(year_data.score, quarter_data.score, month_data.score)
    6.  create user hierarchies:
    agg_dimension.Year
    agg_dimension.quarter
    agg_dimension.month
    7.  Figure out Aggregate Navigation  -- it is easy.
Then create a report.  I put follow objects on report:
    Agg_dimension.year          agg_measure.score
When I run report, it shows right data:
    Year_data.year          Year_data.score
On the report. I drill down on year, it shows right data.
    Quarter_data.Year:
    Quarter_data.quarter1                quarter_data.score
    Quarter_data.quarter2                quarter_data.score
    Quarter_data.quarter3                quarter_data.score
    Quarter_data.quarter4                quarter_data.score
But when drill it up back on quarter, it shows:
    Quarter_data.year     quarter_data.score1
    Quarter_data.year     quarter_data.score2
    Quarter_data.year     quarter_data.score3
    Quarter_data.year     quarter_data.score4
    Not
    Agg_data.year          agg_data.score.
It has drill up back problem on my report.
    Please help.
    Thanks
    Frank Han
