DRM shared nodes

Hi,
Is it possible to make property field of DRM shared nodes as editable.

I had similar requirement in my previous project..
I had to update alias property of shared nodes without disturbing its original alias at primary occurrence, to address it we tried multiple ways and one among them is creating alias property which is local but it didn't work as expected.. finally we went through ODI to address this.
can you make your requirement little more clear so that I can help you

Phani

  • Shared Nodes in a Hierarchy - DRM

    Hi,
I would like to create an alternate hirearchy for reporting purposes. is anybody know how to enable a shared nodes property in a hirearchy. i know by defulat this property is turned off. how to enable that property so that I can create a shared nodes .
    Replies will be highly appreciated.

    Hey there,
havent done my research as yet but yes, its in the system preferences and its mostly likely the "ShareNodesMaintenaceEnabled" property that you have to set to "True". Play along those lines and i'm sure you'll get the answer.

  • Shared Node Model not created

I have created multiple task flows and created the adf menu models. I have created the views for all the nodes and have created shared nodes for the lower level task flows. I have verified that the managed beans are all present for each task flow and they are located in the appropriate menu models XML file and referenced in the root_menu.
When I run the page I get the following error: java.lang.NullPointerException: Shared Node Model not created for query_menu. Check for the existence of the corresponding managed bean in your config files.
I did find another post related to this problem, but did not understand the post.
They suggested looking at the following:
"The file that should contain the menu bean is the file specified in the service-level property "Service Adfc Config". Can you check whether this property has a valid value? Also, make sure the advanced service-level checkbox property "generate ADFc Config Files?" is checked."
Where do I locate the service-level property "Service Adfc Config"? I have been looking through all the config files in the application and the preferences in JDeveloper.
I am new to JDeveloper and ADF.
    Thank you for your help.
    Chris

    Hi,
It makes perfect sense that menu_root.xml has a reference to the managed bean #{JhsMigrateModuleMenu}.
This bean should be defined in the adfc-config for your appmodule, probably /WEB-INF/adfc-config-jhsmigratemodule.xml
It looks like this (with different names):
    <!-- DEBUG:BEGIN:MENU_BEAN : default/misc/facesConfig/menuBean.vm, nesting level: 2 -->
    <managed-bean>
    <managed-bean-name>AppModuleMenu</managed-bean-name>
    <managed-bean-class>oracle.jheadstart.controller.jsf.bean.JhsXMLMenuModel</managed-bean-class>
    <managed-bean-scope>request</managed-bean-scope>
    <managed-property>
    <property-name>source</property-name>
    <property-class>java.lang.String</property-class>
    <value>/WEB-INF/menu-appmodule.xml</value>
    </managed-property>
    </managed-bean>
    <!-- DEBUG:END:MENU_BEAN : default/misc/facesConfig/menuBean.vm, nesting level: 2-->
I guess that this definition is missing or has the wrong name or something. Perhaps it is pointing to an invalid XML menu model file (in my case /WEB-INF/menu-appmodule.xml)
Can you post your findings here?

  • Running OWB on 6 RAC databases on 4 shared nodes

    Hi everyone!
I was wondering if anyone can help with a question I have around multiple OWB installations on RAC?
    Background:
We are migrating 6 independent data warehouses / data marts onto one Exadata box. This machine has got 4 nodes, across which we will run 6 separate databases using RAC. Each database will span across all 4 nodes, and each of the databases will contain one of the independent data mart / data warehouses.
We understand that we will probably need to run 6 separate control center services on each node, and that there may need to be some fiddling around with log file names to get them all to start properly.
However; the question is where to install the OWB binaries!?
In our understanding, we need one set of OWB binaries per database, i.e. 6 in total. The actual databases will be run from just one set of local Oracle Database binaries on each RAC node, which means only four database binaries in total will be used to run 6 RAC databases across our 4 nodes.
Problem is, this means that there won't be enough OWB binaries to go around!! (6-4 = 2 missing!)
One alternative is to have 6 Oracle homes on each RAC node, i.e. one home per RAC database. I'm not a RAC expert - maybe this is even the preferred way of setting up the databases, regardless if we use OWB or not?
Comments / suggestions would be much appreciated!
    Cheers

    Hi,
We also have a 6 node rac where we settes up owb.
We went through a whole lot of problems but got it running finally(with service failover).
Basically you will need the binaries on all 4 of your physical nodes.
For the first node you can run through the normal installation (repository setu).
Thab you need to start the repository assistant on all other nodes in ordr to register them.
There are a lot of pitfalls with that installation and a lack od docunentation.
We've written an onstallation guide for an OWB rac setup where with we have now setted up 9 OWB repositories spreaded over 2 racs.
Just let me know if you require detailed information - maybe we can share our guide.

  • Sort Order issue when exporting from DRM

The sort order hierarchy (Parent/Child) in DRM is correct, and appears in the right order. When the hierarchy gets exported, some of the nodes are out of order in HFM.
There are shared nodes in the hierarchy. There is a Custom Sort order that is set correctly for the hierarchy in DRM.There is also a Query that was created to export nodes that does not contain the word Shared.
    Ex
    DRM
    Parent 1
    Child 2700
    Child 2701
    Appears in HFM
    Parent 1
    Child 2701
    Child 2700
The sort order is not correct in Smartview. Why would the nodes show correctly in DRM, but export out of order, and not show correctly in HFM?
Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Can you evaluate the DRM export results with the Hiearchy structure, also make sure the Default Hierarchy Sort on the Hierarchy has a value assigned to it, whether it is core or custom based on node ID, DRM should export nodes as they appear in DRM.

  • Alternate Hirearchy in DRM

    Hi,
I would like to create an alternate hierarchy in DRM. its just like shared members needs an alternate hierarchy for the reporting purposes. Need a advice on this.
    Replies will be appreciated.
    Regards
    Mothey

Same here. I want to be able to create a second reporting hierarchy with ability to drag-drop a node from the first master hierarchy. I want to inherit only the node, not its descendants and have the ability such that when someone changes eg. a description in one of the nodes in the first hierarchy, this will update all the shared nodes in the second reporting hierarchy.
I was told that one possibility is to create an AssocNode DataType property and a AscNodeProp ClassName Property for each property I want to duplicate and look this up from nodes in the first hierarchy.
So when I create the second reporting hierarchy, I need to create a new node altogether (because I cannot share the nodes and have different children for reporting purposes), but use the lookup in the AssocNode DataType property to pick the node in the first hierarchy that I want to link to, which will automatically return all the properties (such as description) via the AscNodeProp Properties in my second heirarchy.
While this may work, I need to better way to do this. Can I just simply have a master list of nodes (e.g. a Legal Entity Hierarchy with a list of company and subdivisions) and a second reporting hierarchy that reuses the Legal Entity nodes from the first one, but organized different for reporting (e.g. all products for each division), and ensuring that both Legal Entity nodes are linked, so that when someone changes a property in a node the first hierarchy, it changes all linked nodes in the second hierarchy?

  • DRM Alternate Hierarchy Best Practice

What procedures and best practices are suggested for implementing Alternate Hierarchies for DRM reporting purposes?
    Thank You.

In two ways you can set up alternate hierarchy in DRM
    1) Across the hierarchies but within same version (Linked Nodes)
    2) Within the hierarchy (Shared Nodes)
Insert and AddInsert actions in DRM will let you to create shared hierarchies either within Hierarchy or across hierarchies.
If you are creating shared hierarchies across the hierarchies you don't see suffixes such as ":Shared-001" at the end of node but if you are using Insert within the hierarchy then you will suffixes, to have second one implemented first you need turn on one system preferences "SharedNodeMaitainanceEnabled".

Hello, it took a little searching, but I found this in a note in the GRID installation guide for Linux/UNIX:
Public IP addresses and virtual IP addresses must be in the same subnet.
In your case, you are using two different subnets for the VIPs.

  • How to integrate DRM with third party tool for loading metadata in SQL table

    Experts,
I am new to DRM and I have a requirement in which we want to integrate DRM with third party tool(lets say SQL table) as target and load metadata from DRM (Parent node, name , alias etc) to SQL table (same column name)
Is there any way we can integrate DRM to export the same to table directly instead to files. If yes what are the steps we have to follow.
Is there anyway we can customize DRM to execute queries or run batch
Can I have a basic example please.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,

    1. Use DRM Export to Table option, for that create an External Connection first for the Target Database and select the respective Tables to which you wish to Export the Hierarchy information.
    2. You can perform most of the DRM Actions via the DRM_BATCH_CLIENT.exe.
Please refer to Using the Data Relationship Management Batch Client of DRM User guide.
let me know if you have any issues.

  • Too many nodes in each states

I'm trying to use JavaFX Composer in Netbeans 6.9 to make a blogging client that is both an editing software and a feed reader. The problem is that I want to be able to switch between different phases/screens, such as one for reading feeds and one for making a post. I tried to do this by making a read state, edit state, post state and a manage state in the Composer, but whenever I run the project, all the nodes I've placed in any state are visible instead of just one state's nodes. Each of these states is a child of the master, so it seems strange to me that these would all be sharing nodes as siblings. Is there a way of "hiding" nodes between states? Should I be approaching this completely differently?

By default, all nodes are in the < master > state.
In Design view, in States (on top of the screen), click on each state of you form and make sure only the revelevant node for that particular states are visible(click on a node and uncheck its visible property).

  • [Solved] Slow graphics with RS780M and open source ati driver

EDIT: Well this is embarrasing. Guess this is why there's a new comers forum. I assumed since I installed a couple days ago my system was up to date. However, running pacman -Syu updated my kernal and it works fine now. SOLVED (I'm an idiot)
Hello Arch community. I've been using Ubuntu for a couple years so know that my hardware can work well enough with linux. Almost everything works great with arch with little setup, but I'm stumped as to how to setup the graphics card.
I'm attempting to use the open source drivers, either xf86-video-ati or xf86-video-radeonhd (I don't care which I use in the end). I have both installed so I can try out both, assuming that doesn't cause problems. I've never tried using the catalyst driver in arch, so I know I don't have remenents of that causing problems. Right I have gnome working, but when dragging a window, resizing a window, scrolling, or watching a video I can see the screen slowly refresh. It is definetly not right.

I've also tried it with many xorg.conf files without finding any which give me the same graphics performance I have in ubuntu. Here's the one I was using, with the comments showing some other things I tried.

its strange that the cpu has only 800MHz during the bench.
    my ondemand threshold: 95
does the bench cause less then 95%?

    This on a 3x AMD AthlonII X3 450, modules powernow_k8 and cpufreq_ondemand.
Stepping is 800-2000-2500-3200. Threshold is the default 95%.
I don't think hardinfo is reporting cpu frequency correctly.
Aha. Check out this bug from the hardinfo site:
    http://bugs.hardinfo.org/showreport.php?bugid=48
This is a known bug. If you're using cpufreq with the ondemand governor, then the tests will be performed at 3GHz on your machine, as they're quite CPU intensive and the governor will automatically pump out more juice to the CPU.
However, HardInfo only measures the CPU speed once, and that's the speed it displays on the benchmark window.
Oh thank you for the answer, good Sir!
Can you answer the 3rd question?: do you really need laptopmodetools, acpi, cpufreq & acpid? or could i deinst one of them?

The message says "contact Oracle support." Why didn't you?
Because, I presume, you know that you are trying to create a totally unsupported environment.
Throw away the VMWare, go to Oracle VM on Oracle Enterprise Linux and you will find a much happier experience.
Happier too because RAC on Windows is not a pretty sight when it comes to transparent failover.
But please help me out with some of what you posted
    1. Did you run the cluster verify tool? Post the full results
    2. Did you create VIPs?
    3. Can you ssh unchallenged between the two machines?

  • Ethernet Cable Hookup

Hello, this may be quite a stupid question and all, but I need some help when referring to a good, thorough hookup with my etheret cable to my Mac. I've had this hookup for a few months since we got the Mac now and it's done okay ( also recently found out my internet is the worst my company gives out..so I'll be upgrading that soon) but, recently, the internet seems to stop working randomly and you have to close off the internet pages and wait a few minutes for it settle out or whatever. I was wondering, though, if there's an easier more direct route for my ethernet cable to hookup to my Mac. The hookup for the cable to Mac is as states: the company modem is on bottom (might upgrade for a better modem if company let's us buy our own) the ethernet cable then goes to hookup to my WiFi router (that main ethernet cable is blue), and then from the router a yellow cable (maybe ethernet, not sure) goes to hook up to my Mac. See, I just feel as if that is also slowing down the internet connection on the Mac because the main source of internet is going to the router before the Mac and the router is also sending off the internet to my iPod and Xbox. If anyone knows a better, more efficient hookup, please reply! Thank you.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Your modem and router are capable of carrying much faster signals than you are getting from your carrier.
I am assuming that you are a cable internet subscriber.  With cable internet, you are a tiered subscriber on a shared node architecture.  What this means is that the "speed" of your internet connection is limited by your hardware to the level for which you are subscribed.  You won't get any faster than your package, no matter what cable or arrangement of hardware you use.  Being a shared node achitecture, means that you are sharing bandwidth and central switching with a large number of other subscribers that share your node.  The more of these users that are online, the more that bandwidth is shared among those users, so even if you subscribe to the fastest service, during peak use times, you may not get anywhere near your rated speed.
I doubt that your connection of wall outlet > modem > router > computer is affecting your connection spped, as that is the scenario that almost everyone uses.

  • Frustrated. problem installing clusterware. no response from metalink

i've asked metalink and they haven't replied. i'm hoping that the otn community can help.
can't get vipca to run manually, post failure to run thru OUI when installing clusterware. comes back with an Exception Error, yet all the cluster readiness tests were reported successfully. i have included my tar here but have masked the oracle engineer's name as 'm not interested in shaming him, i just want to fix my system. many thanks in advance, John.

    ### PROBLEM STATEMENT ###
i have followed the installation instructions for installing clusterware with ASm as the preferred method for storage as this is
using Oracle Server Std Edition. when the config assistant ran, it succeeded
all steps prior to the following :
Output generated from configuration assistant "Virtual Private IP Configuration Assistant":
    Command = C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd /c call c:\oracle\product\10.2.0\crs/bin/vipca.bat
    -silent -nodelist "whdc-wms-srv-1,whdc-wms-srv-2" -nodevips

    180.120.1.126|public 180.120.1.126"
Configuration assistant "Virtual Private IP Configuration Assistant" failed
i then tried to run the vipca afterwards and this fails with :
VIPCA FAILS WITH 'EXCEPTION IN THREAD MAIN' AT START

    Hi John.
How are you invoking VIPCA after the fact?
    - From the command linke with the same parameters as above ( the -silent option should be
    removed)
    or
    - from the command line without any parameters?
If you have not tried to invoke vipca.bat without parameters please do so and enter the required i
    nformation when prompted.

    hi
by the way, i am following Part Number B14207-01. Oracle® Database Oracle Clusterware and Oracle Real
    Application Clusters Installation Guide
    10g Release 2 (10.2) for Microsoft Windows
i am upto section 4 Installing Oracle Clusterware on Windows-Based Systems.
this is where i did as stated, Using Oracle Universal Installer to Install Oracle Clusterware on Windows
then at step 9, When you click Finish, the OUI installs the OCFS and Oracle Clusterware software on the local node and
validates the installation again. The OUI will also create any required OCFS
file systems. After validating the installation, the OUI completes the Oracle
Clusterware software installation and configuration on the remote nodes.
this is where the configuration assistant fails, with the :
Output generated from configuration assistant "Virtual Private IP Configuration Assistant":
    Command = C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd /c call c:\oracle\product\10.2.0\crs/bin/vipca.bat
    -silent -nodelist "whdc-wms-srv-1,whdc-wms-srv-2" -nodevips
    "whdc-wms-srv-1/whdc-wms-srv-1-vip/255.255.255.0/public 180.120.1.126|public

    180.120.1.126|public 180.120.1.126"
Configuration assistant "Virtual Private IP Configuration Assistant" failed
, and then when you try to vipca.bat manually, you get :
    C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\crs\BIN>vipca
    Exception in thread "main"

    hi xxxxxx
also noted that even after the 1st attempt to install clusterware the path is as follows :
    PATH=C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem
not sure when there is no change to the path as a result of the oracle install, as there is a JRE and jlib folder under the oracle home : C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\crs\jlib

1st question is you have contradictory statements in your tar. 1) you say no vendor clusterware and the you say you have windows 2003 clusterware installed and configured.
    Why are you installing both?
Although I don;t think that is the problem here, I wonder why anyone would want to run 2 independent cluster software on same servers.
Now the output from the installer has whdc-wms-srv-2-vip output from cluvfy shows suitable interface as whdc-wms-srv-1 HEARTBEAT 10.10.10.11:10.10.10.10
    whdc-wms-srv-2 HEARTBEAT 10.10.10.11:10.10.10.11
whdc-wms-srv-2-vip what you entered to installer does not match what is available!
