DRM Validation for checking existence of nodes in a different Hierarchy as a property value

Hello Gurus,
I have two hierarchies named A & B respectively. I need to create a validation for nodes in hierarchy A which checks value of a property such that the node should have property value equal to any node name in Hierarchy B.
Means the values for that particular property for nodes in hierarchy A should exist as a node in hierarchy B.
It would be very grateful if some one can provide an idea to achieve this.

Try this in a formula type validation-
NodeInHier(PropValue(Custom.PropName),B)
This would return false if the property value is not a node in Hierarchy B and True if it is.
So you will get a validation message every time the property is loaded with a value which is not node in Hierarchy B.

Hi,
We are currently working on DRM version 11.1.2.2.302.
Metadata of client is not unique in a single field. To attain the same we proposed them combination of several fields as a node to bring uniqueness. However we are ending up combining 6 fields as a node which users are not ready to accept.
We are now working for a sequenced number as a node, however we face a challenge when the combination of nodes are to be verified in the parent hierarchy to check whether the combination of properties existing previously or not. We can check whether node exits in other hierarchy or not using 'NodeInHier' and also we can only retrieve the property of a node using 'NodePropValue' but we are not able to use these functions to check if a property of Hierarchy B exist in a property of Hierarchy A.
Please suggest/help on the issue. Please let me know if you need any further info on the same.

Create a validation for check double invoice

Hi,
I have read here on SDN for check double invoice on reference number. We want to create an warning message if same reference number is posted twice, not depending on invoice date. So if I, on 1st of October have posted an invoice with reference number 123 and then want to post with same reference number on 2nd of October I want to have an warning message. If I had understand right I need to make a validation for that. Is it true that I need to have a programmer to do that or how am I doing (one thread said that this was the solution, see; )?
I suppose that my prerequisite will look as follows:
BKPF-BLART = 'KR' OR BKPF-BLART = 'RE' (I want the check when entering both an invoice in FB60 and MIRO)
How will my "check step" look like when I want to check if this reference has been entered before? Please describe in technical name.
Is it possible to do a validation for getting a warning, or is it just possible with error message?
I have also tried to change in IMG, in Material management > Logistics Invoice Verification > Incoming invoice > Set check for Duplicate invoices. Here we have all fields selected (check co. code, check reference, check inv. date). I changed to just select check reference, but this doesn´t solved my problem.

Your first question,
Yes system does not check MIRO invoice while posting FB60 invoice. Because when you post invoice with using FB60 transaction, system check BSIP table for duplication. But when you post MIRO invoice system doesn't fill BSIP table.
So that your question answer is YES, you can register an invoice in MIRO with same reference without a warning.
Your second question,
BTE means Business Transaction Event. Those events are known as FI user-exit.
So that when you posting an invoice with using FB60, system triggered on BTE 00001110 as i said on my previous message.
I try to explain step by step how can you activate this BTE. But you need to ABAPer for giving warning message on this exit.
Call FIBF transaction -> Settings -> Products -> ...of a customer
Create a new line,
Product : ZXX
Text : BTE Products for FI Exit
Product active : tick checkbox.
Call SE37 for exit function and copy from FM SAMPLE_PROCESS_00001110 to ZFI_PROCESS_00001110. Then active your FM and go to FIBF transaction again.
FIBF -> Settings -> Process Modules -> ...of a customer
Define a new line.
Process : 00001120
Function Module : ZFI_PROCESS_00001110
Product : ZFI
And then you can some write ABAP code for validation and give warning message.
In this FM, If you don't want to check duplicate invoice for your cases you can set export parameter e_nostd = 'X'.

XSD or RELAX-NG validation for check-in form

I have a set of XML files that I want to check in to content server and also have validated against an
XSD schema (or RELAX-NG schema). If the validation of the XML file fails, the checkin should
fail. The XML files would need to be updated on a regular basis.
I am using 10gR3. I'm not so familiar with extending the content server to do
this, and would appreciate any general guidelines or pointers to relevant
documentation.

XML converter (an add on to Inbound Refinery) could be used to display the contents with your XSLT choices but analyzing the file to prevent checkin would take data validation that would be custom. The CS does not care the file format or file type for checkin. Others have looked for analysis of file extension to stop checkin of certain extensions. This has been custom. I think there may be enhancement requests from customers for this kind of validation for the CS but it does not exist in the core yet.

Visio 2010 Validation for Checking the number of a specific type of shape.

I have written a rule for flowchart for checking the number of Start/End Shapes in a document.
The FilterExpression is as follows:
AGGCOUNT(FILTERSET(SHAPESONPAGE(), HASCATEGORY("Start/End"))) > 0
The TestExpression is as follows:
AGGCOUNT(FILTERSET(SHAPESONPAGE(),HASCATEGORY("Start/End"))) = 2
(Since totally there are 2 shapes: 1 Start and 1 End Shape)
However, it is not working. Can anybody tell me what is wrong in the expressions.

Well, it worked for me, so I want to check that you modified the Start/End master to have the User.msvShapeCategories row with the value "Start/End", as I did?

DRM validation for description(aka - alias)

Hello room - I am trying to have a validation to prevent user from altering any node description that has the word "inactive". This is what I am thinking could be done:
if(equals(String,priordescr,"*inactive*),True,False)
The only problem is there's no "priordescr" property I could find in DRM. Please help!

Thanks Ramesh for helping. My goal is to allow users change the description of a node if it does not have the word "inactive". I have not found any property that stores the previous value so that when the users change description and save, the validation will look at the previous value and approve it or not.

Hello, we are using Lab View, to run testers, for checking our production parts. At different times during testing we are getting an error message with a number indicating something.

The number appears to be different every time. The error will stop the test. Sometimes, the test will complete, but instead of passing or failing, we get an error message. Most times these keep comingup every other or every 3rd part.Most times we can reset the problem, and at least get rid of the errors for a while, by shutting down the whole system, including the main disconnect. Then powering back up. HELP!! This has been going on too long!!

What's the error number and message? Is it a LabVIEW error code or a user created one?

Setting Node Attributes for a non singleton node

I want to know what is the correct way to set attributes for a non singleton node dynamically.
I have node A which contains the non singleton node B.
At runtime I want to change the attributes of node B dynamically. What is the correct way for this?
When I try wdContext.nodeB().getNodeInfo I get a NullPointerException.
For example this code works: wdContext.nodeA().getAElementAt(0).nodeB().getNodeInfo(). Here I get the node info.
But when I set attributes for the second line, are there valid for all Elements in Node B?
What is the correct way to set the attribut infos for non singleton Node B?

The main rule here - do not touch node instances at all. Deal only with node metadata:
IWDNodeInfo nodeBInfo = wdContext.getNodeInfo().getChild("node A").getChild("node B");
nodeBInfo.getAttribute("xAttr");

Defining complex validations for flex items

We've defined a flex regions and a number of flex items. We would like to define more complex validation logic at the entity object level, whereby we'd like to reference both 'fixed' entity attribute values as well as values of the flex items.
Could you please indicate how this can be achieved in the validateEntity method of the EntityImpl.java class.
We know beforehand which flex items will be displayed based on the value of one of the fixed entity attributes (e.g. if the attribute request_type='assist' then display flex items A and B, if request_type='info' then display flex items D, E and F). We use flex items because the number of request_types and corresponding 'dynamic' attributes is too large (and subject to frequent additions, deletions or modifications) to incorporate in a fixed static db table structure.
If you can suggest alternatives to using JHeadstart flex items, these are more than welcome, of course.

First of all many many thanks for your prompt reply. We can use JSF EL expressions to conditionally render flex items. I'd like to illustrate my question with a simple example:
We have three fixed entity attributes displayed:
RequestType
Birthday
Sex
and two flex items (rendered at runtime for a specific runtime value of RequestType):
Smoker (Y/N)
Weight
Before saving the record I'd like to check a number of validation business rules that depend on the fixed entity attributes as well as the two flex items being displayed.
Consequently, I'd need to be able to access the flex item values provided by the user, inside my validateEntity method (right ?).
I can define simple validations for the flex items, but I can only access the flex item value and possibly the DependsOnItemValue.
PS: When I define a flex item of type 'inputtext' and try to access its value using a bind variable in the validation query of the flex item e.g.
:ItemValue = 'blabla'
Suppose the user fills in the value Abracadabra, the validation logic substitutes as follows:
Abracadabra = 'blabla' (which generates an Oracle error). I'd expect the following substitution to take place:

Your first line just sets a variable to a string value… getFiles() is a method of Folder… so
var InputXMLDir = Folder( "D:/Brackets/Create_Bracket_Graphics/Input/XML-n-Templates/" );
Not a PC user so I can't remember if the colon is OK…? As you appear to know the file name why bother with a folder get files anyhow you could just check if the file exists then do some thing…

In FS00 for bank gl accounts give house bank and account id. By giving this the problem will be solved.
and also check
In OBVCU for bank accounts check combination of house bank,payment method,currency,accoun id and bank subaccount.

we have developed packages to do the followings
Extract data from DB2 Source and put it in MS Sql Server 2008 database (Lets Say DatabaseA).From MS Sql Server 2008 (DatabaseA)
we will process the data and place it in another database MS Sql Server 2008 (DatabaseB)
We have created packages in BIDS..We created datasource connection in Datasource folder in BIDS..Which has DB2 Connection and both Ms Sql Server connection (Windows authentication-Let
say its pointing to the server -ServerA which has DatabaseA and DatabaseB).The datasource connections will be used in packages during development.
For deployment we have created Package Configuration which will have both DB2 Connection and MS SqlServer connection in the config
We deployed the packages in different MS SqlServer by changing the connectionstring in the config for DB2 and MS SqlServer...
While runing the package we are getting the following error message

use in specified state.". You may not be authorized to access this information. This error occurs when there is a cryptographic error. Verify that the correct key is available.

This is because the package has been created by somebody else and the package is being deployed under sombody else's account. e.g. If you are the creator then the package is encryption set according to your account and the package setup in SQL server is
under a different user account.
This happens because the package protection level is set to EncryptSensitiveWithUserKey which encrypts
sensitive information using creator's account name.
As a solution:
Either you have to set up the package in SQL server under your account (which some infrastructures do not allow).
OR
Set the package property Protection Level to "DontSaveSensitive" and add a configuration file
to the package and set the initial values for all the variables and all the connection manager in that configuration file (which might be tedious of-course).
OR
The third options (which I like do) is to open the package file and delete the password encryption entries from the package. Do note that this is not supported by designer and every time you make changes to the connection managers these encryption entries come
back.

Checking for the existence of a Frame

I am currently designing an application which consists of 8 JFrames (all in different classes), During the application, one JFrame provides information to a user and when they select the appropriate fields another JFrame opens an the active one closes. However the problem i am having is that i need to be able to write an if statement saying
if (this particular frame exists already){
destroy it;
}else{
whatever........};
But i dont know how to check for the existence of a frame currently running, or how to destroy it..
im currently using dispose(); to destroy frames but the dispose method only works when your in the class thats creating the frame, it wont let me write something like class1.dispose() (where class1 is the frame object created in the constructor of class1.java); in class2.
I have searched throught the forum and havent found anything that can help me, i would really appreciate anyones input.

as user jjayet I'm running on OEL 5.6 64 bits the following command to install DB 11gR2 :

the problems seems relater to accessing /tmp
as the local disk is not enough to use the default /tmp (the DB install will fail with full disk error as the local disk space is very low )
I've created a partition from new disk to /tmp which I have then mounted (default is nfs3) :
# mount /dev/xvdc1 /tmp
# mount
/dev/xvdc1 on /tmp type ext2 (rw)
the result of DB install into /tmp is :
# cd /tmp
# ls -altr
drwxr-xr-x 32 root root 4096 Apr 5 06:07 ..
drwxr-xr-x 2 jjayet dba 4096 Apr 5 06:36 CVU_11.2.0.2.0_jjayet

if I umount /tmp but use the local /tmp
re-running the DB installer as user jjayet it does not raise the error above
and now local /tmp contains :

do you know how to use tmp over nfs with user jjayet so that the DB can install properly ?
it seems that the files created as user jjayet into mounted /tmp are not identified properly

I found the post you mention but it does not help
it does not explain the root cause of the problem but just propose a workaround to pass an option to installer which will popi\up an interactive messgae at install time
as installation is done automatically through ADE / DTE I cannot use this workaround
any expert in oracle DB install can help ?
