Droid Turbo Inaccurate Battery Percentage and Fast Draining

As of yesterday, when my Droid Turbo needs to be charged, and I plug it in, the battery percentage will go from 20 percent to 100 percent in under 5 minutes. Then will drain super quick. I spoke with Verizon's Tech Coach who instructed me to clear the partition which was done. I then completed a factory reset, and even tried a different charger to see if it was that and I have the same problem. Has anyone encountered this issue as well?

We want to make sure you have the power, Rip4luv! Are you using the original charger? Does this happen on multiple wall outlets or USB ports? have you recently installed any new applications or updates when this began?
Thank you,

  • Droid Turbo defective battery?

I purchased my 64GB Droid Turbo on the 30th and have tried everything I can think of but I can't seem to get more than ~8 hours of battery life.  I have already been in contact with motorola and performed their recommended "clear partition", done a factory reset, turned off data and location when not in use, only sync over wi-fi, etc.. Ideas? or bad battery?

Like Tidbits pointed out a Li-ion battery needs to have a rebuild charge sometimes.  Do a full 6-8 hour charge with device in sleep mode, next run it down to about 45-50 % and then a 4-5 hour charge. After that use your Droid and take it down to 30%. Another 6-8 hour charge and then down to no lower then 20-25% and one more full 8 hour charge. At that point your battery should be rebuilt back to a normal life cycle. This should eliminate your battery as a possible problem.

  • I was wondering why the iPhone 5 has the option for a battery percentage and the iPod touch 5g doesn't? I mean... they are almost both the same thing... just the iPod does not have the phone.

I was wondering why the iPhone 5 has the option for a battery percentage and the iPod touch 5g doesn't? I mean... they are almost both the same thing... just the iPod does not have the phone.

One likely reason is the % battery is not that accurate because of the smaller battery capacity in the iPod compared to iPhone and iPad. Users why use a % battery app post that the % reading changes a lot.

  • I am missing the battery percentage and accessibility in my usage section

I am missing the battery percentage and accessibility in my usage section.  I have the current update...anyone know?

Not available to the iPhone 3G.

  • How do I automatically log the battery percentage and time on my Retina Macbook Pro to an excel spreadsheet? (OSX 10.9.4)

    Hello! So I own a 13" rMBP, and I'm running OSX 10.9.4.
How do I log my battery percentage with the date, probably down to the hour, preferably to an Excel file?
I want to track the rate at which my battery discharges, so that in the future I can compare the present rate of discharge with the past and see exactly how much my battery has deteriorated by. I'll take averages over long periods of time to account for, e.g. the fact that watching Netflix drains my battery faster than editing an essay. I also want a solution that uses negligible power in the background.
I've spent hours looking for an app that both calculates the rate of discharge and keeps all data, but I haven't found any. Eventually I decided that hopefully it isn't too difficult to write an AppleScript or something that simply logs the system clock and battery percentage in tandem every hour or so.
    Thank you for your time!
    Herman

    What Barney said.
Here is the script to create a CSV text file with
    Date
    Time
Current Battery Percentage as an integer
    #!/bin/bash
    batterycsv="$HOME/battery.csv"
    export GREP_OPTIONS="--color=never"
    # if you want the percentage sign too, exclude the second egrep
    battpct=$(pmset -g ps | egrep -o "(\d+)%" | egrep -o "\d+")
    datetime=$(date "+%Y-%m-%d %H:%M")
    printf "%s,%s,%s\n" $datetime $battpct >> $batterycsv
Output on a fully charged MacBook Air to battery.csv will be individual lines of the following format:
    2014-08-09,19:49,100

  • Droid Turbo - No simultaneous voice and data!

I just received my new Droid Turbo last Friday and I discovered that it wasn't capable of simultaneous voice and data.  I believe it needs to receive an OTA update from Verizon to upgrade it to Advanced Calling 1.0.  I don't know when or if this update will come out.  I called Verizon support and they couldn't tell me anything either.
Can anyone from Verizon on the forum comment on this?
I have 14 days to return the phone so I would like to know what to expect.
    Thanks,
    Brian

My Droid Razor was fine but the battery failed.  It was of course unreplaceable (great concept there;  device worth hundreds in which you can't replace the battery). They sold me this inadequet device.
Of course I'm sure you mean "not user replaceable".
The most popular phone series of all time has a battery which is "not user replaceable". This is not a new thing. If you want a phone which has a user replaceable battery, it would seem you should purchase one.

  • IOS 4.3.1 battery percentage dropping faster while iPhone is idle

Since I upgraded to iOS 4.3.1, I noted (and a friend of mine too) that in the night, and with the iPhone sitting on the table, the battery percentage drops at a rate of 7% down every 12 hours.
In previous iOS versions, it usually dropped at a rate of 2/3% every 12 hours while idle.
Lastly, another side effect of 4.3.1 is that the percentage drops much slower than before while actually using the phone.
Don't know if you are experiencing similar issues...

    7% in 12 hours? You mean 70% in 120 hours? 5 days?
Oh dear, I get six days and my wife gets seven days before recharging.....better than any DUMB phones we've ever possessed and yet there's so much more used, available and accessible whenever we want it or need it.
The night-time thing is a bit of a red-herring down to the carrier more than anything else, it seems: re-registering on the network around the start of a new day, etc.....

  • Apps, battery percentage and lock button.

On my iPhone 5, several apps won't load. They will open, but I'll just get a blank screen. These are Pinterest, Facebook and Settings.
I can't restart the phone, as the lock button hasn't worked for months and it won't work using assistive touch. No matter how long I hold the lock icon, it just locks the phone.
Also, the battery percentage has been on 82% for about 4 hours, now.

I am also having this issue.  It is very frustrating as I use the multitasking gestures quite often.
iPad, iOS 8, iPhone 5c, iPAD mini.

  • I have a MacBook Pro and one day, my dock disappeared and so did the time, the battery percentage, and the spotlight!  The left side of my top bar is still there showing the Apple sign with the application that is open and other options. I need help!!

    Help pls!

Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
    Do the following:
    1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install the Combo Updater for the version you prefer from support.apple.com/downloads/.

  • New Droid Turbo takes forever to load pictures on social media? ...and other questions!

Hey all, I just got my new Droid Turbo a week ago and I've noticed some shortcomings that I'm not sure how to handle. They're not major, but they irritate me. I'll just list them...
-On social media (Instagram and Facebook specifically), the pages load fine but most/all of the pictures take nearly a minute or more to load, if they load at all. Never had an issue with Samsung or previous Motorola phones doing this.
-I occasionally get a popup error that "Contacts has stopped" even when I'm not accessing it or the program is closed (it usually happens when I'm making a call).
-I have a setting to make my Gmail mail sync automatically, but it doesn't always do it, and the phone is supposed to notify me but only does it sometimes.
-How to make "folders" in photo Gallery?
-Google Play music is synced, but doesn't play AT ALL...just "thinks."
I think that's all I have for now. Sorry it's so much, but I appreciate any help you all have! Thanks!!
    *Lauren*

Congratulations on your new Droid Turbo. We'd love to help make sure your new phone is working properly. For the photos in Instagram and Facebook, Is it that some photos appear and others do not? How are photos in other applications or different websites? As for the Gmail sync, have you checked the settings under Gmail to ensure the sync options are set to your preference. In regards to the folders for the gallery, folders are usually created on their own and based on where pictures are created. For the Play Music, what happens when you try to play songs?

  • No battery percentage at top of screen.

Why dosen't my iPad 2 no longer show battery percentage at top of screen.

Go to Settings>General>Battery Percentage and make sure it is set to ON. If it is - reset your iPad. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the red slider.

  • Multimedia message problem droid turbo

My droid turbo has stopped receiving and sending picture messages. It worked. And then randomly stopped. It says "sending" for hours or even took 3 days one time to actually send.
&& when recieving picture messages it pops up as "download" & won't download or show the photo for hours or even days.
I did today's system update, turned it on and off & in safe mode.
    Nothing works.
I have signal. I have unlimited texting. And the phone has a lot of free space.
    Help me.
Its been like this since around thanksgiving.
    Is it just my phone?

my2kidsrup, Thanks for the details. We're super excited about the Droid Turbo so I'm sorry to learn that you're having difficulty with Picture Messages. Is your phone connected to Wifi when this issue occurs? The phone does need to communicate with our Mobile Network to automatically download, send, and receive picture messages. Which application are you using when sending/receiving picture messages?

  • Droid Turbo working outside of the USA?

    Hi!
Does anybody know, if I purchase a Motorola Droid Turbo from Verizon (full retail price), will I be able to use the phone in Sweden? Thinking of two issues:
    1) is it SIM-free? and 2) can I use it in Sweden´s 4G net?
Thanks for all help I can get!

  • Droid Turbo Syncing People aka Contacts

So I just got the Droid Turbo the other day and I'm trying to make sure that all of my contacts are in one place. Like most of us I have several different accounts to pull from like Gmail Yahoo Mail Facebook and Twitter.I chose all of these accounts and they all seem to be appearing under my People app but I cannot seem to find a place where I can change the settings of how I view my contacts. By default it is showing a box with the first letter on the left. I can go in and change each person's picture but on my old phone there was a way to pull all facebook profile pictures into my contacts. I don't see that here. Am I missing something?
I also noticed that when I look at the last time my facebook synced up there is no date listed. I click on the Sync Now button but nothing seems to happen. Is there a problem with Facebook and the Droid Turbo?

        Hi RobnDawn,
Congrats on your new Droid Turbo! We want you to have the best experience. Go to contacts/people, hit the menu key, and see what options are available? Do you see an option for "display"?
    Thanks,

  • Droid Turbo thin screens

I purchased a Droid Turbo 2 weeks ago, and 1 drop has cracked the screen beyond use.  Apparently there is an issue with the screens on the devices being thin, so Verizon has implemented a Screen Assurance Program, where they will replace the screen, for free, 1 time.  It's right there is the ads for the phone, and on Motorola's we site as well.  The problem, Best Buy shoppers, is that Verizon refuses to guarantee the BLUE Droid Turbo, because it is a BB special edition.  Same phone, same thin screen.  Best Buy will not replace it either.  I just want you all to know this, and DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE.  Do your own research, don't take my word.

Have you tried Motorola directly to see if they will repair it?
