Droid X freezing, starting and restarting on its own.
Last week I had to replace my Droid X. When I rec'd the replacement today, I pulled it out of the box, inserted the battery and fired it up. Called to activate the phone, started the set up process. It got all the way to the Back Up Assistant, then flipped itself off and restarted itself, but wouldn't let me do anything else. Nothing. Period. The little green light was flashing, indicating I had texts, voice mails, emails, etc, but the screen is blank. Occassionally the screen will show the time and date, but won't let me swipe to unlock it. The old phone did this same thing before I had it replaced. What's the problem? Yes, I've already done the "hold down the power and the home button to wipe/delete..." thing at least three times. No go. Is there a software snafu with Verizon going on?
Thanks for any help.
Hmm. There could be some wireless interference or conflict with other networks or devices. I suggest that you try changing the wireless channel. I am using channel 9 for my EA4500 router, but you can also try other channels and see which one suits your network setup. What’s the current firmware version of the router?
If it has an up to date firmware, you can relfash it to make sure that there’s nothing wrong with firmware that was uploaded. Simply download the firmware file and manually load it to your router.

Imac shuts down and restarts on its own
Hello
I am having a problem with my 2011 Imac i7. Usually when at the screen saver the computer will shut down and display an error message. Something along the lines of "your computer has experienced and problem and is restarting". It flashes to a grey screen and then a message apears in a white dialog box. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Below is the error report that shows up when the computer restarts.

RichardHi, though it all points to Graphic card or drivers, Soundflower has been a problem for many, in fact the first 4 non apple kexts may be the problem.
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts (Users & Groups in later OSX versions)>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

Crashed! And restart on its own.
I was simply tap tap tapping inside an App - and my iPhone crashed, YET again...........
I wasn't doing anything crazy, not even memory intensive! I only had 4 apps open total. I'm in one App and am clicking away - and bam! It goes BLANK to black and then restarts by itself.
Why does this keep happening to me? I don't even have too many Apps! 5 games total, if that! And most of my phone is filled with music, I have no movies, I have some video from the camera, some photos. That's it.
It only ever crashed once when I was iOS6. Now it's crashed twice in less than 2 weeks and there are glitches all over the place.
I guess Apple is sending me a message to just buy a new 5S and throw this 4S into the ocean, right?
Thanks
iOS7 on 4S.This time it was a non-Apple app, but the first time was in the middle of doing nothing, I was trying to click on an App and the phone literally crashed, showed me a dead battery indicator and went blank. I hastily borrowed a friend's plug and got some power and it came back to life that time, and when I unplugged 2 minutes later, it showed the battery where it had left off when it crashed and told me I had no battery.
I just want the glitches to end. It didn't happen as much with iOS6. OK so this one has whole sale changes to the way it looks and operates and so on - but why release something that had not been fully tested in at least a few incarnations? -
pls someone help me on this issue. phone is stil under warranty
Depends on where in world you are
If a country where Apple stores exist take it to The Apple Store they will replace however if damaged may well charge for the replacement depends on actual condition and how you approach them .If glass is broken probably no chance of a free warranty replacement
http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=servicefaq&geo=United_Kingdom&product=iph one
just pick your country freom drop down menu -
For the last three days my macbook has been shutting itself off - and then on again. And I don't know why or what to do.
I have a new power adapter, but my battery may be bad, which is why I keep the macbook plugged for the time of use. I have worked with my mac with that battery in, I also took it out- it doesn't appear to make a difference. Also: it doesn't matter if I have the mac on a desk or if I move it. It randomly shuts off.
Also, I have been monitoring the temp and the fan... I believe it operates in ok-range. Why is this happening? And what to do?
Cheers!Hi, though it all points to Graphic card or drivers, Soundflower has been a problem for many, in fact the first 4 non apple kexts may be the problem.

EA6500 Signal Dropping off and restarting on its own
Hi Community, I have a EA6500 AC1750 linksys wireless router. I recently purchased a new Motorola Modem it is the motorola sbg6782-ac modem. I have the modem in Bridge mode and the wireless networks on it disabled so that I can use the Linksys AC1750 wireless router as I need to the extended range of the router as my office is upstairs where my internet cable access point is. I have 10 devices connected to my router, however, I have a 30mbps package from Time Warner. I can say that I have had a noticeable increase in speed and performance since purchasing the Motorola modem, it's been installed for about a week and the signal has better consistency and quality. However, I have noticed some funky acitivity with the Linksys router. I had to previously restore to factory default settings about once a month as the communication between the Linksys and the old Arris Modem from TW that I had was just nonexistent, it seemed like when the lease time expired the communication between modem and router would reset and then I would need to reset to factory defaults in order to reset the communication so it worked properly. After week 1 with the Motorola that does not seem to be the case as it seems much more consistent. However, today I was working next to the router and I noticed the Linksys rebooted randomly, and the modem never flinched, since the reboot today I have noticed that the signal is fluctuating with ranges down to 32mbps and then up to 180mbps, however when I work next to my router the speed is a consistent 450mbps with 5 signal bars. I know the range has something to do with it, but the random rebooting and signal speeds going up and down makes me think it is in some kind of power save mode or something, I can't find anything in the settings that suggests that but that is what it seems like to me. Please let me know if there is anything in the settings of the router that needs to be adjusted. (on a side note, I use a VPN connection to work from home on a day to day basis, in addition, I make a lot of VOIP calls and do a lot of webex conferencing using my internet connection. Also I do use xbox one where I am using matchmaking and playing online)
Thanks in advanceHmm.

Mac OS 10.5 /
I deleted the " Private" folder ... and emptied the trash. So the folder and its contents no longer exists on my computer at all !!!
I do have the OS 10.5 dvd that i purchased years ago...
But my computer will not start from it on its own.
My question is what is the open source or terminal language code used to tell my mac to look in the DVD rom drive for startup info? I know that im not the only person in this world who has deleted the "PRIVATE" folder and emptied the trash so it no longer exists on their machine...
That said theres gotta be a common fix for a Power PC G4 that has the OS X dvd in the rom drive but wont look to it to reinstall the vital contents of the PRIVATE folder.
Once again there is not a copy of this file or its contents in the recycle bin...
Also rebooting the machine , pressing and holding the letter C does not prompt the machine to look to the dvd rom drive.
I was reinstalling pro tools and figured I would make some room by cleaning my computers HD...
Lol It was a bad choice to delete this file ...
Thanks guysOkay sorry it took forever to respond... But for a while there I gave up on this computer!!!!
Money's been tight lately , so taking it in to a professional was not yet an option... though I did consider it eventhough.
Anyway long story short im glad I didnt spend any money because I already had all the tools necessary to fix this issue but was going about it in the wrong way. Okay so here is my scenario and the breakdown... Though this may not fix the issue for everyone :( which *****... But I know we all will have different circumstances.
Anyway here we go...
Okay so first things first.... Years ago I purchased the OS 10.5.1 disk ... So that has always been in my possession!!!!
I realize that some may not have a disk to reflash your OS to your hard drive... but if you do your in luck.
2ndly ... I had an external harddrive with all of my itunes downloaded music so it was more than okay with me to delete my primary HD because all the important stuff could either be copied over or repathed to be located.
-------If you dont want to read through the whole story the fix is summed up in the bottom section-------
Okay so now the SOLUTION!!!!
By trial and error , and pure boredom I opened up my computer to clean the inside...
AND
"Disconnected the primary HD"
and just because ....... REBOOTED my computer. Just to see what it would do.
Upon restart and though it looked like it would repeat its usual cycle...
About 1 minute in to that process my computer froze for about 2 seconds and flashed to the OS installation screen.
Mind you I havent seen this screen yet... Probably hasnt been since I installed the OS years ago.
After a bit of trial and error...
I decided to tell my computer to startup from the OS 10.5 disk located in my dvd rom drive and restarted once again...
this setting is under
Utilities / startup disk
After a little more trial and error ... I realized that I could reconnect the primary HD , restart the machine and return to the OS installation menu.
So upon this discovery
I went to the Disk Utility located under Utilities
Highlighted my primary HD located in the left hand column
Once highlighted ...
In the heading section on the right I selected the option
Erase
in which I erased My current OS on my primary HD ...
I used the first option in the list under security... Because it seemed like the least invasive and would take the least amount of time to see if this process would actually work.
I FORGOT to add something...
Another reason why I deleted my primary HD!!!!!
I forgot to say that it WOULD NOT!!!!! Show up in the STARTUP list as an option...Even After multiple reboots....
But like clockwork... Once I deleted its name IT SHOWED UP as an option!!!!
So back to the next step...
I returned to the STARTUP option under utilities ... And was then able to see MY primary HD now as a startup option...
But ofcourse it had no name because it we previously erased it.
So when Clicking my newly erased HD ... I was almost immediately prompted to REINSTALL the OS ...
Which said it would take about 57 minutes ... But I believe was alot less...
My issue was resolved ... My computer then stated the install was SUCCESSFUL!!!!!!! :))))))))))) lol ;)
It was like I was setting up for the first time ;) asking for my registration info...
The dilemma of deleting the private folder and emptying the trash is finally over resolved. Done ... and no extra money spent!!!!!!!!!
Its really crazy that the information for such a simple thing is not readily available. Especially being such a simple fix.
I know im not the only person who's had this issue , because i've seen numerous posts with similar wording.
I also know I wont be the last person to have this issue... So I hope this synopsis makes sense.
-------One more time the fix------
*Insert your OS dvd into your dvd rom drive.
*Unplug your primary HD or corrupted startup disk
*Reboot your machine...
Upon restart your primary HD will not be recognized...
* you will then be prompted to select your language.
Once selected
*Click Utilities/startup... Highlight the the selection that refers to the OS dvd located in the dvd rom drive.
* Click restart...
!!!!!!!!!!Be sure to reconnect your Primary HD Before your computer restarts and you hear the chime!!!!!!!!
If you do not replug your HD before the chime it will not be recognized.
In that case restart again.
Upon restart once again
*Choose your language...
*Click Utilities / disk utility
In the left column select and
*Highlight your HD ...
Then towards the top portion / center of the page
*Click the heading Erase
Then on the page toward the bottom
*Click security options
This will then provide erase options.
I USED THE FIRST OPTION
"Dont erase data"...
*click OK
* click erase...
Once erased which should take a few seconds
*Cancel the disk utility...
* Click Utilities / startup
And your newly erased HD should now appear in the list.
* Select your drive from the list by highlighting
It should no longer have a name.
*Once selected, you will then be prompted to restart and install the OS to your newly erased HD...
Thats it!!!!
Once everything reinstalls re-add your personal info or registration info and you are up and running.
Goodluck ;) -
My MacBook Pro 10.6.8 prompted me of a new itunes update this morning, so i downloaded it. Since then itunes has been starting up randomly on its own, and starts playing the first song on the list. I pause the song, and it resumes it on its own again. I'm not joking. So, I end up quiting out of itunes; but, it starts right back up again on its own. After quiting out of the app a few times, it eventually stops reopening; however, about an hour later (or less) it opens again. HOW DO I MAKE IT STOP? I'm just about to delete itunes, because I've had enough of this crap. I hope someone can help. I've restarted the laptop, and it seemed like that fixed it, then itunes started up doing the same thing again an hour later. ituneshelper is unchecked; bluetooth is off; i only have speakers and a mouse plugged in (also charger).
Read this Apple Discussion Thread and possible solutions. The audio jack has been the main culprit, also certain sync and automation settings including connected remotes.

I put my husband's apple id in when I started to set up icloud in error. I realized I needed to change this right away and tried to sign out and restart with my own apple id, but it won't let me sign out in the middle of setting up. It says something about if I don't sync documents, all documents will be deleted from this computer, but I don't want to download all his work documents. Is there any way for me to start over and fix this?
Having signed out as suggested above, go to http://appleid.apple.com and create a new Apple ID if you don't already have one. You will need a working email address which is different from that in the ID already in use.
The set up your Mac/device(s) as indicated here:

How do I use the commands to start and restart the jmqbroker normally?
How do I use the commands to start and restart the jmqbroker normally?
Because I have tried to use "jmqcmd shutdown bkr" and then tried to type
"jmqbroker" to start up. My screen hangs up and seems that the process
hangs up. The message is
[28/Jun/2002:18:29:07 GMT+08:00] [B1060]: Loading persistent data...
[28/Jun/2002:18:29:08 GMT+08:00] [B1039]: Broker "jmqbroker" ready.
The prompt is hanged until I press CTRL-C.
Then I got the following message:
[28/Jun/2002:18:32:07 GMT+08:00] [B1047]: Shutting down broker...
[28/Jun/2002:18:32:07 GMT+08:00] [B1077]: Broadcast good-bye to all
connections ....
[28/Jun/2002:18:32:07 GMT+08:00] [B1078] Flushing good-bye messages
[28/Jun/2002:18:32:07 GMT+08:00] [B1056] Cleaning up persistent
store...
[28/Jun/2002:18:32:07 GMT+08:00] proceessing 0 messages and cleaning
up 0 files...
[28/Jun/2002:18:32:07 GMT+08:00] [B1063] Done
[28/Jun/2002:18:32:07 GMT+08:00] [B1048]: Shutdown of broker complete.
Then, I use jmqadmin to invoke the console, I can start the broker
again, it gives me
Error encountered while connecting to the broker: "MyBroker":
Broker Host: 'localhost'
Primary Port: '7676'
[C4003]: Error occurred on connection creation, - caught
javax.jms.JMSException
Please verify that there is a broker running on the specified host and
port.
I used ps -def | grep jmq there is no process anymore.
Is it a bug? Would somebody have any idea on what went wrong?'jmqbroker' is the command to start a broker.
When you type 'jmqbroker' in a command window,
unless you put it in the background, the shell
prompt won't return until the broker is shutdown.
So when you see 'Broker "jmqbroker" ready.', it tells
you that the broker is running and is ready.
When you CTRL-C the process, it has the same effect
as using jmqcmd to shutdown the broker. And so after that,
there's no jmq processes running since you have just
shutdown the broker.
Remember that the jmqcmd/jmqadmin 'restart' command is to
restart an already running broker. jmcmd/jmqadmin does
not support starting a new broker instance.
If you are using csh, end the jmqcmd command with an ampersand ("&")
to have the broker running in the background. An alternative is to
stop the process with Ctrl-Z then input the command "bg" to have that
process resumed in the background.
The problem with not being able to start a broker using the
administration console is a documented limitation of the product that
Yvonne also mentioned. Check the Administrator's Guide for that. -

Gateway restarting on its own again and again
I have an application developed on iPlanet Application Server, integrated with the Portal using URLScraper. I am running the Application through the Gateway. The gateway is restarting on its own time and again and I have to log in again every time. At times the gateway restarts after 5 - 10 mins...At times, it goes on for 2 - 3 hours. Also, even when the gateway does not restart, I am shown the Portal Authentication menu page while working on the application. Apparently, something is happening to the session or to the gateway.
In iwtSession, I found that a lot of sessions were being created and some were destroyed with 5 -10 minutes of being created, while only 1 person was working on the Portal. Could this be the problem?
What all could be the reasons why a gateway would restart on its own? I have set the maximum idle time of the session to 30 mins. and the max session time to 800 minutes. The session are not set on the gateway but rather on the server. The gateway itself has a session with the server. The gateway restarts if it looses its session with the servers or if something else happens that forces the gateway to restart itself.
Take a look at the web server error logs to see if the web server is restarting during the time the gateway is restarting. You can see this at /install_dir/netscape/server4/https-hostname/logs
Also the additional log information that would be usefull here is the iwtGateway, take a look at that, at the time of restart. Make sure ips.debug=message when you look at the log files.
What version of portal are u using ips sp3a ? -
MacBook was restarting on its own and now is not powering up. What could cause this and how to troubleshoot?
When did it happen? After updating/upgrading? or just randomly?
You can try to perform a SMC reset and resetting the PRAM:
