Dropped Connection but Auth still ok.

Hi All
I have a 5508 with guest web Auth.
no session timeout.
Works very well.
Except - packet drops happen very often.
"Logout" window is always there.....
I have a ping running thru the WLC to a DSL Router.
2 Sec timeout
I get only 90% pings thru.
When connection is once again there - no need to re-auth !
on the same AP I have a 2nd VLAN - different auth.
no ping loss.
so WLAN is not at fault as both use the same AP and same Frequency band.
Any Ideas ?

I get a problem like yours. I have a mac mini with 2 hdds the server and hd2 I installed windows 7 and the windows works fine. except it will not allow me to get on the net. I get error 651. I can boot back to lion and the internet connection works. I googled and error 651 does seem to show up. I would like a work around.

I did activate the German keyboard, and I entered in the application "notes",in which I typed a german word with the german keyboard... But I can't get "define". It only appears to me when I select a word from an ebook, but when I ask for the definition of a German word there, it simply says "no definition found", as if the German dictionary didn't exist. I know that it exists... When I tried for the first time to get a definition for a German word, it appeared a writing which asked me if I wanted to download the German dictionary. I selected "yes", but I was connected to a 3g connection at the moment, so the ipad didn't download the dictionary, but another writing told me that the download would have continued when I was connected to a wi-fi. It didn't. And now I don't know how to continue the download. I've installed the French dictionary and the English one, but for the German one that's what happened. Maybe the ipads work differently in each country?

BBerry Bridge connected but icons still shaded and no BBM app no longer on Playbook???

My Bridge says that it is connected but all the icons are still shaded....why? Also when it does all work i cannot get my emails up in screen.
Also my BBM app has disapeared, has anyone had this problem? And i cant find the app on App World to reload!!!

Make sure you have the latet Bridge and BBM installed on your smartphone. If your apps are up-to-date and you are still having problems, try to delete the paring on both devices and re-pair.
I this fails, uninstall the Bridge on the handset and then re-install and re-pair affer a battery pull.

[Solved]Fail to use wired connection, but can still use wireless.

I had suspected the problem to be related to a recent package update from any time between 6/2 to 6/5, though the problem only started yesterday(6/6 in my time zone). I have already tried downgrading internet related packages that has recent upgrades, but the problem is still there. So I need help. What information do I need to provide to help pin-point what is causing this problem?

But I still hope someone can help me in understanding what to look for when such situations happen again. What data I should gather to help other's get information about my problem.
By the way, I'm quite sure it is not a cable problem, because the windows in the same machine can link onto the net when arch was still unable to link onto the net. During the entire day, I refreshed the package database, and the only update was vim. So what could have caused the problem to fix itself again?

Wireless status of HP 6980 says "connected" but I still can't print

I bought a new Gateway laptop using windows 7 64 bit. I replaced my router with a newer Netgear wndr3400 v2 dual band router. After connecting my pC, ipad, and iphone to the network they work flawlessly. I cannot get my HP 6980 wireless printer to print. I used the HP embedded web server to have the wizard set it up. The IP config and DNS configs were left on automatic. A printout from the 690 report page seems to show all the #'s and the wireless status is listed as "connected." I even tried disconnecting the windows firewall to no avail. My virus software is PC tools internet security. I could use some help please.

I know this is an older post, but I wanted to offer some assistance if it is still needed.
I doubt it is anything to do with the software as it sounds like the issue surfaced after the dual band router was setup.
Some older printers have some issues operating in a network that has a dual band option.
I recommend disabling the 5Ghz band in the wireless router settings and reconnecting the printer to the network as you had done previously. This can be a temporary change to isolate where the problem.
Let me know what happens.

Even if you were still under AppleCare warranty, it would not cover damage from a fall.
That "17 day" warranty makes no sense, though. iPods have a 1-year free AppleCare warranty for service, and 90 days for free phone support:

Apple can repair just about anything that might be wrong with your iPod, but it will cost you. Call, explain the problem, ask for a repair appointment at your nearest Apple Store (or get a case number and ask for instructions to mail it in for a repair), but get a firm quote on the repair cost before authorizing the repair (or mailing it in for repair).

Airport extreme connected but light still blinking

I have really messed up my extreme/express network. I am connected on my computers to the extreme but the light is still flashing even though I have a connection. Help

if you are connected and can get onto the internet with no issues, then the blinking light is indicating that the extreme / express has something that needs your attention. The usual suspects are that you've left the ability to manage both devices over the WAN port. Use the airport utility to 'ignore' or 'dismiss' this and it should turn green. The utility should tell you which other things need your attention. It's just apple ensuring that you have the most secure network

Reported a dropping connection but was speed was j...

My Infinity 2 connection was being dropped every few minutes with the following coming up in the Home Hub 5 event log:

I've read elsewhere on this forum that it is often the result of a fault on the line, so I contacted support using the online chat and they agreed that there was a fault and would pass it to an engineer investigate further.
A few hours later, I've been contacted and told that the issue has been resolved.
All that seems to have been done is that my connection speed has been turned down. I previously managed to get 52Mbps and I now only get 46Mbps.
My biggest complaint, however, is that neither 46 nor 52Mbps comes anywhere near the 72-80Mbps that I was promised when I moved to Infinity. (I've double checked the estimated speeds at www.dslchecker.bt.com) My ADSL connection before I moved to Infinity always achieved the top end of BT's speed estimates so I can't understand why my connection speed for Infinity is now way below the minimum estimated speed.
Can anyone suggest a way to resolve this other than to battle on with BT support?

I've run the diagnostics you suggested and screen shots are below. As you can see I'm only managing 45Mbps which is quite a way off the lower figure of 62Mbps in range B. When I had ADSL2, I could get 14Mbps which is at the top end of the range. Obviously I'm now disappointed that I can't even manage the lowest quoted connection speed.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features(Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (If this won't uninstall press on)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

I send imessages with full connectivity, but they still send as text messages, to someone whom i know has reliable connection also, is there a solution to this problem?

I don't think this works. Even if I turn off iMessage on my iPhone, anyone who has iMessage turned on on their phone will automatically send an iMessage text. For example the picture shows what will show up on a device that has iMessage turned on, when they're about to send a message. As you can see there's an "iMessage" sign in the text box. Wether or not iMessage is turned off on my phone, it doesn't matter to the other device which doesn't know that. It's not like turning off iMessage on my phone will automatically send a message to the other phone saying iMessage is turned off, so they can now start sending SMS texts. So basically, turning off iMessage on my phone does absolutely nothing. Sorry if this was a little confusing.
