DTW Importing data

hello,I imported some data into the order object (Document and Document_Line), the result shows "3 business object(s) imported successfully". But the records are not in the table when I did a SELECT statment in SQL query anaylzer, or from SAP Query Generator.
Any clues please? Thanks.

HI Liao,
I think you put tick on Test run in 'Step 5:Run The Data Import' in the Import wizard.Remove the tick and run the once again. Hope this will solve your problem.

I have a problem when importing data into SBO system using DTW. The error message is "sort error, pls check the prepared data and delimeter. I use SBO 2004 SP 00 PL 41. I don't understand to cope with this problem, I have no idea anymore. I appreciate your answer. TIA

    Rgds,

  • Data with "," overflows to the next field when importing data with DTW

    Dear all,
When I tried to import data with DTW, for the data that includes ",", the data after "," all jumps into the next field after import.
E.g. Column A(memo): bank, United state
           Column B(project code): blank
Result in SBO: Memo field : bank
                                  Project code: United state
    I  have tried 2 ways.
    1. Save the file as csv, and adding double quote(") at the beginning and ending of the data. However, it didn't work. It didn't work with single quote as well.
    2. Save the file as txt, without amending the data at all.
It worked, however, in SBO, double quote is auto added, it becomes "bank, United state".
Please kindly advise how to handle such case.
    Thank you.

  • DTW Import Business Partner

    Business One 2005A SP01, Patch 29
    DTW 2005.0.17
    API version 6.80.319
I'm a newbie. Now that's out of the way.
Can anyone tell me in general, how does one determine what are the required fields and data types for a DTW destination? This ETL tool is very different from any I've ever used before in that the destination fields in the interface change based on the import data provided. I'm used to those being constant, with required fields and their datatypes clearly defined.
Currently I am trying to import Business Partners, all customers via ODBC. I provided data for the following BP fields:
    RecordKey                 1
    CardCode                  '1001'
    CardName                  'Company One'
    CardType                  'cCustomer'
    DefaultAccount           '_SYS00000001'
    GroupCode                 2
    PayTermsGrpCode      3
The error log tells me all of my records fail for the following reason: [OCRD:BankCode]Application-defined or object-defined error oBusinessPartners.
I assumed the required bank info had to do with with where I deposit payments from these customers. So I mapped data for BPBankAccounts. Every record is the same except for the RecordKey.
    RecordKey    AccountNo    BankCode
    1                   123              'My Bank'
    2                   123              'My Bank'
Now The records load, but I've got bank info on the Payment Terms tab, not the Payment System tab. So my fix made my error go away, but the data are wrong. I don't want to have to import fake customer bank data just to get around this error. What does DTW really want?

Thank you for your comments about the bank/payment tabs.
I've since discovered my real problem with DTW is that the error messages are frequently spurious. I don't know if this is a bigger problem because I am using ODBC rather than flat files.
I was only dragging in banking info because I had received the error message ' [OCRD.BankCode]Application-defined or object-defined error65171'. After I rebooted, I din't get this error any more and could load BPs without any banking info at all.
Likewise, I was having trouble with addresses and was receiving messages like
'[OCRD.State2] , 'The connected value 'MI' was not found in table States'Application-defined or object-defined erroroBusinessPartners'. This was a US customer. I am in the US and this IS a defined state.
What I've learned from this expereince is not to trust DTW error messages.

  • Import data Question

Can you please give me step by step  stages how to import Data from an Excel Sheet into Items Master data where:
    a. I want to import Bar Code numbers in to the existing Bar Code Field for individual items
    b. How do I Map which field in Excel corresponds with the Sap Field
    Thank you

    Hi Robert,
in your template directory you find a template for item master data. If you only want to update you 'll need the ItemCode, RecordKey (free numbering series) and your BarCode only. Just fill the excel sheet with the informations and use the DTW. The template automatically match the correct fields.

    1. What is the System of updating the Financial Year in SAP B1.
I do not quite understand this question. Are you talking about Creating Financial Periods or Year End or What ???
    2. Is there any Feasibility for Importing Data of Opening Balance .
<b>Opening Balances can be imported using DTW templates.</b>
    3. Which are key Factors are to be considered to pick up the data at time
    of Importing Data.
Importing data into SAP is a major task in the Implementation process.
The volume and types of data to be imported have to determined first and time estimated for them so that you can plan in advance and get the data from yur client on time and then convert them to SAP.
Please let me know if you have specific question towards the project and I would be more than happy to help you

  • Import data into an UDF

    Hi experts,
I know I can import data through DTW. but since it has fixed format of template. how can I import data into user-defined fields?
    Thanks...

    Hi Vic,
Open the DTW, Log on to a company,
Under the menu --> Advansed, click on the Maintain Interface.
    A window appears
Select the Object from drop down field, Ex. oBusinessPartners,
Click on the + Sign next to the expand the desired object.
You can find all the Userdefined fields there in the tree view.
Right click on parent node of the Tree and click on Create Template for the structure.
A Save As window appears to save the new template,
Give the path and save the file,
Now the new Template contains all the Userdefined fields also.
    Regards
    Reno.
