DTW sales tax assignment for U.S. customers

When using the DTW to convert data using the templates, I cannot seem to determine how to make a customer "liable" for taxes.  I have tried setting the enum "vLiable" in the VavLiable column and added the tax jurisdiction in the VatGroup column.  I then thought I needed to add the tax jurisdiction for the ship to addresses.
Is there documentation that describes how these fields need to be set for US localizations?
I also have a problem setting the Payment terms.  I used the PayTermsGrp4e column, but it is not correct.
Thank you for your kind consideration to my problem...

The value (vLiable) and the column (VatLiable) in your first posting should work.  I have tested successfully in our version.  Even though we are in Canada, I don't think these fields are different from yours.  Make sure you add BP first and then update them.
Thanks,
Gordon

  • Sales Tax Codes for new Order lines via DI-API

    I've built a program (2005 SP01 PL07) that will take an existing sales order and add line items to the order via the DI-API.  Besides the fact that the Pre-discount field is not available in the DI, I can't seem to get the "Tax Code" to populate automatically as it does through the UI-API.  Is this "working as designed" or am I missing something?  I would rather just populate the bare minimum on each line and let B1 automatically do the rest (like it does with "Total", "Delivery Date" etc.)  I would rather not have to figure out programmatically which tax code should apply to the given line I'm adding.
    Any thoughts on this issue?
    TIA!
    Message was edited by: Curtis Fry

    Hi Curtis,
    If you set up the tax code of a partner and were able to populate it automatically in B1, I would say that could work in DI-API.
    This is my codes (C# for example):
    SAPbobsCOM.Documents doc=(SAPbobsCOM.Documents)company.GetBusinessObject(BoObjectTypes.oOrders);
                   if(doc.GetByKey(31))
                        doc.Lines.Add();
                        doc.Lines.ItemCode="W001";
                        doc.Update();
                        doc.Lines.SetCurrentLine(doc.Lines.LineNum-1);
                        MessageBox.Show(doc.Lines.TaxCode);
    Maybe you forgot "update" first?
    Anyhow, I hope it helps

  • Calculation of sales tax for free item

    Dear SAP B1 Experts
    I have query regarding sales tax calculation for free item .
    For EG.  I have two item for sales (A = 1000,  B = 100)   Sales tax is VAT4%
    But when i am doing sales, i am selling B for free of cost with A for Rs 1000/-
    here my tax calculation is (1000 *4%)  = 1040/-
    but as per the govt sales tax rule, we are liable to pay the tax for free item as well
    So I this case, In SAP B1 how we will calculate the tax 4% for free item  .
    Please help me.
    Thanks

    i have checked, its working okay, but
    in Invoice print out unit price and line total is showing for free item.  How i make the unite price 0 .
    Tax only calculation is based on the Line total and the line total is based on the unit price.

  • Partial sales tax configuration

    Experts
    We have some customers who are partially exempt from state sales tax.  For example, normally the customer is fully exempt (no tax) or they will be charged the full 6%.
    How to configure for customers who are, for example,  50% exempt from the 6% state sales tax?  Is there a way?

    Hi,
    What i understood form your detail is that you need a to maintain 50% of the tax for a particular customer and not the full tax 6%.
    In this case create another tax code say (A0) for that particular country & tax pricing procedure, there maintain the tax value as half of the full tax say (4%) as mentioned by you earlier......... Then create another tax indicator at IMG SD->Basic Functions->Taxes--->Define tax relevancy for master records... (T. Code OVK3), Assign this tax indicator to the corresponding Cust. master.......
    Then while maintaining condition record for that particular condition type in VK11 choose the key combination of Tax Classification cust/Tax Classification material... Then select the tax indicator 5 of cust/corresponding tax indicator of material and enter the tax code (A0)
    By this you should get the required half tax for that particular customer
    Reward points accordingly if it helps
    Regards

  • J1I2 - Sales Tax Register

    In the standard SALES TAX REGISTER report(TCode=J1I2) PO is picked up for a given Accounting Document Number irrespective of Fiscal Year and Company Code from EKBE table. Though rest of the tax details are OK, it is taking any first available PO matching Accounting Document Number(according to select statement). Since Material Document Year (GJAHR) is available in EKBE, sql statement can be changed to retrieve PO for a particular year, but there is no Company Code column in EKBE, how to retrieve a PO for a given Company Code now? Is there any other unique key in EKBE table related to Company Code or any related view to retrieve PO for a given Accounting Document Number,Fiscal Year and COmpany COde?
    Note: Only those POs should be retrieved whose PO history category should be either R or Q(available in EKBE)

  • Sales Tax rate in Sales Order

    Hi All,
    I am writing an application which is suppose to import Sales Orders from other application, I cannot use DTW because I need to do some calculations while importing orders so am using DI to write code.
    Ok now comes the real problem, I have “Sales Tax” rate in my source application and I want to use same percentage in order, but DI does not allows me to specify sales tax rate (%) for the order instead it uses default customer tax code. Is there any way where I can override default tax rate and populate it with the number from source application?
    Thanks Gurus
    Jiten

    Dear Jitendra,
    maybe it would be better to post your question to forum <Expert Forums\SAP Business One\SAP Business One SDK>. There you will  find experts in programming DI and UI.
    The forum <Expert Forums\SAP Business One\SAP Business One> you posted to is rather for questions concerning the use of SAP Business One and not the programming of its interfaces. Of course, it may be possible that someone answers your question here, too. But it is more likely to find answers in the others forum.

  • Sales tax on online orders

    I am unclear on the sales tax situation for online orders of iPads.
    Will I be charged sales tax if I order an iPad thru the Apple online store?
    If online orders are sales tax free why are there so may people lining up at stores to buy iPads (and other products for that matter) which will end up more expensive?

    Whether or not Apple (or any online merchant) collects and remits sales tax depends to a large extent on whether they have a retail presence in the state (in this case, if there are Apple Stores there). Another factor is whether the company does enough online business there that the state chooses to expend the resources to collect sales taxes even without a retail presence -Amazon.com, for instance, collects sales tax for sales in Tennessee because they do tons of business here and because many of their distributors and shippers use warehouses here which Tennessee has indicated a willingness to seize in lieu of the tax dollars. Consequently Amazon caved in and now collects taxes at the time of sale. Apple already has retail stores here so they collected taxes on my order at the time I placed it.

  • Sales Tax details

    Hi ABAP gurus,
    I have a requirement to design a report which displays the sales tax details for invoices payable to vendors. Can anybody please help me with this with what tables and transactions to look for the data?
    Fast Replies will be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Shivani.

    Dear Shivani
    Use TCode FBL1N in which you can get the required details.
    The details are stored in BSEG.  If you run SE16 / BSEG by giving vendor code in the respective field, you can get the details.
    Thanks

  • Tax Accounts - Is it necessary to have separate tax acct. for each state

    I am new at this:
    Is it necessary to have separate AR/AP/ account for each tax jurisdiction like state county etc?\
    Or do the sales tax reports for payments in SAP produce outstanding taxes per jurisdiction.
    I would prefer only one Sales Tax account and hope to have SAP produce the taxes due per jurisdiction.
    Mike

    Thanks Suda.
    So I only need to setup two tax accounts:
    1.  One tax account for tracking the AR taxes
    2.  One tax account for tracking the AP taxes
    So, to report the taxes to the different tax jurisdictions, SAP should be able to break then down individually for us to pay them.
    I am new at this ... so please be patient.

  • Sales tax when edging up

    When I bought my first phone on Edge I paid full price sales tax. When I want to Edge up, I have to pay 50% of the cost of the phone. At that point I'm charged first month (fine) and then sales tax again for the full price of the phone. Something doesn't seem right about that. Hoping someone can explain this to me.

    When you buy a new car on credit you pay the full sales tax on the car, because the assumption is you expect you will keep the car.  However, you do have the option at any point to trade in your car (whether paid in full or not), but the car dealership/state does not prorate the sales tax based on how much of the car you actually paid off.  When you lease a car the assumption is that you do not wish to purchase the car, rather you only want to use it for a short period of time (ie a long term rental), though in most cases you have the option to buy the car if you want.  Verizon Edge assumes you seek to purchase your phone rather than lease the phone.
    Edge is simply a way for you to buy your phone on credit at 0% interest, you are not leasing your phone with the option to buy.  In fact you are purchasing your phone with the option to trade it in later if you want new tech as soon as it is available.  Verizon and all other carriers that have this type of program are trying to get us accustomed to purchasing our phones at full price.  This way over time they can do away with most if not all phone subsidies.
    If you were in fact leasing your phone, then Verizon would have placed a set of restrictions on your use of the phone that helped Verizon ensure that your phone when returned would be in like new condition and operational.  In addition, if you were leasing the phone Verizon would likely require you to purchase insurance for the phone to further protect their interests regarding the leased equipment.
    For those already in enrolled in the Edge Program be aware, in the fine print of the Edge Terms and conditions it states
    What are the eligibility requirements to Edge Up with Verizon Edge?To be eligible to Edge Up, you must:
    Back to top
    Have had your Edge phone for at least 30 days
    Have paid at least 50% of the full retail price of the phone
    Return the Edge phone in good working condition with no significant damage, as determined by Verizon Wireless
    What types of replacement phones will be accepted when I seek to Edge Up?When you Edge Up to a new Edge device, you must provide to Verizon Wireless one of the following in good working condition and without significant damage, as determined by Verizon Wireless:
    The original phone purchased under your Verizon Edge Agreement
    An authorized replacement from a valid Verizon Wireless channel (e.g., Certified Like-New Replacement, AppleCare® or a Verizon Wireless authorized insurance replacement phone)
    All that means is that Verizon does not have to grant you the option to Edge up even if your phone is 50% paid off, if your phone is not in an acceptable trade-in condition. A person in that situation would still have to continue to pay the phone off but would not be eligible to purchase another phone on Edge until that contract is paid off in full.  Just like if you trashed your car (only 50% paid) and when you went to trade it in the dealer determines it is not in a suitable condition to accept for trade in.  You will be stuck with your car (or phone) and still be required to pay it off.  In this case the dealer will (with acceptable credit check) let you finance a new car just like Verizon will allow you to add another line to you account and get a new phone on a separate Edge contract paying tax on the full retail cost of the phone.

  • Creation of Sales org views for customers related to vendor

    Hello All,
                 Can any body tell me is there any functional module which can be used to created the sales org views for customers related to vendors.
    Regards
    Srinivas

    Hi Ravi,
    the number of sales area possible would be 6 sales area,
    yes you can of course use the common master data functionality
    After creating the organizational structure and relevant master records you want to use as the masters, that is, in the distribution channels and divisions you are going to use as a reference, you can group distribution channels and divisions separately for master data (which combines customer master and material master records), group condition records, or both master data and condition records.
    Letu2019s say you have a product range that is not different for the four different distribution channels you have (the channels could be telesales, retail, industry, and wholesale.) Neither is there a difference in the customersu2019 details when they purchase through one or the other. Thus, you will not want to create a multiple of four views of customer master and material master records. Merely create the customer master records and material master records in one of the distribution channels, such as retail. Then assign the other distribution channels you created in the organizational structure setup to this one.
    Donu2019t forget this means you can only create or change master data in the distribution channel that is being referenced. In the scenario above, this means you can only change data for the retail distribution channel. Even if you should access a customer or material master in change mode, press F4 (possible entries), and select telesales, industry, or wholesale, you will receive a message u201CSales area is not defined . . . u201D
    The same is true for the sharing of conditions. If conditions are shared, you need only create a condition in the distribution channel or division you are using as the reference. Obviously, this only pertains to conditions that have the distribution channel and/or division in their key, such as a price based on sales area
