Dulpicate and rename User/Groups

Whitin the administration it's possible to duplicate a group or user, but I also want to change the name. How can i do this?
What i actually want is 25 groups with different filters on the same fields.

URGENT: Impact on renaming user "Groups" in Siebel Web

I have a requirement to change couple of user "Groups" from old one ("ABC Team") to new one ("XYZ Region Team").
Can anyone tell me what kind of impact will be on the existing system by renaming web "Groups" in Siebel Analytics?

It depends, are you using SSO? If not groups names shouldn't matter unless you are using them in filters or in the narrative view.

Error - "Group cannot be found" after rename user group

Hi,
I got the error message below after I clicked at 'edit' button in the "People and Groups" page (/_layouts/15/groups.aspx). Before I get this error message, I renamed the group name. It seems like it was looking for the old name when I clicked at
'edit' button. However, I can still access the Group Setting page by go to the group page -> settings -> Group Settings. Once I renamed the group name back to what it was. I can click at the 'edit' button without any error.
Can someone please explain to me about this issue?

Provisionusers.cmd and Migrate users/groups from Planningweb

Hi
Is the functionality of Provisionusers.cmd and migrateusers/groups from planning web similar?
I feel Provsionsuers.cmd is an alternative way to migrateusers/groups from planning web.
Please correct me if i am wrong.

Hi,
The provisionusers utility basically syncs planning and essbase with the provisioning of users/groups in shared services.
If you run the utility and a user exists in shared services but has not been created in the planning database the user will be added.
If the user does not exist in the essbase security file then they are added.
If it is a user that exists and has security settings on members in planning then these filters are pushed down to essbase.
It should also remove users/groups from planning if they have been deprovisioned in shared services.

Is the command "stringToACLGroup ('group=203;').isMember($currentuser)" in the code below, doing a Database lookup or getting it from a cached value? If this the server API or a PRC call?

On the machine that is having this issue, run this command:
RSOP.msc
When the results come up, browse to this path:
Computer Configuration->Windows Settings->Security Settings->Restricted Groups
Do you have a listing for "Remote Desktop Users"
I suspect what you have going on is a GPO that is applying explicit members of that group. That would remove anyone that you specify every 15 minutes.

User Groups and InfoSets

Hi Gurus!!
I have created an InfoSet and an User Group with only an user (User1) assigned to the InfoSet created.
I logged on with User2 and I could modify the Infoset and I could create and QuickViewer using this Infoset.
Is not supposed to be modified the InfoSet only by the User1?

Strictly speaking the Query and its related stuff like infosets are client dependent and User specific.If a query is developed by one user , the other user doesn't have authorization to see it.
May be sometimes all the users belonging to the same User group may see/use that query.
In your case the USER2 should not able to use that infoset or query.
May be User1 and User2 are in the same User group.
that's why User2 is able to access the infoset.

Hi,
You can copy queries only if you have the authorization to make changes. Within your current user group, you can copy all queries. However, queries of other user groups can only be copied if the InfoSet used to define the query is assigned to both user groups.
To copy a query, proceed as follows:
1. Choose the name of the query you want to copy on the initial screen.
If you do not know the name, use the directory functions to display the query directories and then choose a query to copy from there.
2. Choose Copy.
3. Enter the name and the user group of the query that you want to copy in the dialog box. Furthermore, you must enter a name for the copied query. The system proposes values for this.
4. Choose Continue.
This takes you to the initial screen. The query is added and appears in the query directory. You can now continue.

ISE / Active Directory: issue to get users group

We have a strange issue:
- ISE 1.2 patch 8
- no WLC, autonomous AP
In authentication, we check Wireless IEEE 802.11 (radius) and cisco-av-pair (ssid), then we use AD.
We have 3 SSIDs, so 3 rules, one DATA, one GUEST, one for TOIP.
In one more rules to grant authentication from APs to register in WDS: user in local database.
In authorization, we check cisco-av-pair (ssid) and AD user group, then we permit access.
(so 3 rules), and one more to authorise the internal base for WDS.
We have something strange:
- sometimes users can connect but later they can't: in the logs, the authorization rejects the user because the AD Group is not seen.

Restrict metadata field during an update to a specific user group

Hello everyone,
I am having some trouble figuring out the best way to restrict permissions to change some metadata fields for 2 different groups of users.
I have two user groups, A and B. Group A will be checking in documents that the B group will then review for accuracy and quality. Group B will then update an optionlist field called "Status" with either "Recommended" or "Not Recommended".
This is not a workflow situation as the scope requires that all documents are immediately available for searching. I currently have a CheckIn and Search profile for the content permitting read write access to groups A and B. The "Status" field is hidden on the CheckIn page. Can anyone please suggest a good way to restrict the field "Status" on an Update page to just "B" users? Groups A and B should be able to update all fields with the exception of the B restricted "Status" field.

Hey rMac,
I understand it this way you have one profile for A and B user groups. On this profile Status field is hidden.
If this is your problem you can approach it from two places, while making the rule for hiding the Status field, use rule activation condition. Make it active only for users with Role A . This way even with single profile some of the user with Role B will be able to see the Status field.
otherwise you can put similar code in Restrict Personalization Link where in you make this hidden field editable and compulsory for Users in B.

Which table/view stores information on APEX user groups?

Hi All,
I need to list all the APEX users, their roles(i.e. IS_ADMIN or IS_DEVELOPER) and the user groups they belong to.
Can some one kindly share the information on which tables/views will have all this information?
I am aware of apex_workspace_users which tells me about the roles (i.e. IS_ADMIN or IS_DEVELOPER).

I did manage to get the information on user groups by using APEX_UTIL.get_groups_user_belongs_to function.
However there are two issues in that:
Firstly, the requirement is that i should be able to retrieve this details by executing queries in SQLPPlus and not APEX WS. However, executing APEX_UTIL.get_groups_user_belongs_to function in sqlplus returns no data. That means there are certain permission issues on the underlying tables.
Secondly, the user groups are listed in a single row and I'd like the result in the multiple rows.

I want to create an Admin and a user class in java but I want them to have different rights to the DB.
For example for an admin:
He can delete an user's account or he can change a user's password and that stuff..
with the user having basic access like creating a user account, making a booking, updating the booking and so forth.
Now I can I will have to create two separate classes indentifying each class' fields, but how do I create the access rights and a user group in java through netbeans?

Access rights: make an enum with the privileges, and let each group instance store a list of them.

Is it possible to map a Sponsor Group in Cisco ISE to a user group in Active Directory, through a RADIUS server?

We are working on a mapping between a Sponsor Group in Cisco ISE and a user group in Active Directory....but the client wants the mapping to be through a RADIUS SERVER, for avoiding ISE querying directly the Active Directory.
I know it is possible to use a RADIUS SERVER as an external identity source for ISE.....but, is it possible to use this RADIUS SERVER for this sponsor group handling?
