Dun & Bradstreet credit management functionality

Hello experts,
My client wants to use Dun & Bradstreet credit management functionality, we are currently on SAP version 4.7 highest support pack SAP_APPL SAPKH47025.
How can I find out more about this product?
How much does it cost?
Where in SAP service marketplace should I request this?
How to go about implementing?
etc
Kind regards Steve D

Dun & Bradstreet, D&B as they are known are a credit agency.
They rate Companies. They review the Company Accounts, turnover, way the pay and produce credit limit recommendations.
You would need to contac them as to their cost.
How can you use them in SAP?
Well you can have an online facility where you down load their data and upload it to credit masters, FD32. Normally here you will need their DUNS number linked to a credit master and it will update the credit score and potentially the risk category.
As you have 4.7, you could chose to go with FSCM and the Credit Management processes that offers. it has a different link into D&B but you need to work out if the scoring you use for C/L creation, approval and change is just from D&B or internal rules are used as well.
lastly you need to consider if you will apply to the D&B on an adhoc basis, customer by Customer which is cheaper than them feeding you the data everytime they change their ratings.
please award points if useful.

  • Credit Management functionality not working properly during Delivery Execut

    Dear All,
Complain from the Client: While creating Delivery documents the system permits the creation of Delivery in some cases when the Customer's Credit Limit is not sufficient to allow Delivery creation.
    Findings: After detailed analysis of System Configuration and transactional work flow following significant findings were noted;
    1.     Risk Category assignment & Credit Control Area assignment is no disabled at any stage of the business process in discussion.
    2.     The Delivery was created with transactional Credit Status "A" (Credit Approved) in cases when it should have been Credit Status "B" (Credit Not Approved) as the customer account did not have sufficient funds to accommodate the delivery.
    3.     Following Deliveries on PRD which were reported to have the above mentioned error, i-e, 80207442, 80224422, 80228126, 80230859, 80230863, 80230864, 80231004, after checking the deliveries it was established that system was not changing the Credit Status at Delivery Level to "B" in cases when it should be "B" rather than "A".
    4.     The above scenarios have been configured and checked in the QA server, where system reacted as per the standard and no discrepancy was identified.
    5.     If the user deleted the delivery which had the bug reported as above, after deletion of that delivery and recreation of the delivery referring to the same Sales Order the system performed correctly unlike in the first case.
    thanks

  • Credit management functionality

Hi, Iam a bit confused by reading the help.sap.com on this issue. My questions are.
1 ) I need to understand that from sales document the information is transfered to info structure S066 and S067. What the system does with the data in S066 and S067 ?
2a) If there is a credit block in sales order (credit exposure > credit limlit) on 16.8.10 and suppose on next day on 17.8.10, the payment is received from customer. How does the system reduces the credit exposure ? When the payment is posted, does the system automatically at the same time reduces the credit exposure in FD32 and S066/S067 ?
2b) When the credit exposure is reduced on receiving the payment, does the system automatically removes the credit block from the sales order or do we have to run any report for removing the block ?
    3) The system compares the credit limit with credit exposure. The system looks for credit limit from FD32 . I need to know from where the system picks the credit exposure from ? Is the credit exposure picked up from FD32 only or S066/S067 ??
    regds

    hi,
    Ok in this case
1)There are two thing to be noted, if your are clearing the AR (accounts receivables) then we assume the customer have settled the accounts. This will clear the amount from the open items.
This can seen in the payment history.
2)Case 2 since the credit always depends on the open items, once we issue the credit memo and issue the invoice for this credit memo the amount is  posted as negative value. During the settlement of the accounts this is taken care. So the credit limits remains the same for this case.
To conclude the only open item will be calculated for the credit and as this increases the credit used percentage decreases.
If there is delivery block due credit please release the document using the VKM5 and then remove the delivery to process the document. This release of delivery will still hold good for the credit exposure and keep a track till it is released to the accounting. You can check this in FD32 payment history.
    Rgds,
    Mauryan.

  • Letter of Credit functionality and Credit Management

    Hi,
we want to use Letter of Credit functionality for exports.
Currently, we have an ERP system that contains the sales data. In a separate system we have the credit management functionality (Financial Supply Chain Mgt - FSCM).
When order is created, the credit limit is checked in the FSCM system (via PI messages).
Now, we want to link some of the Sales orders with Letter of Credit. I believe, this is standard functionality in GTS.
So when Sales Order is created a LOC should be connected to this.
Can the GTS be connected also to FSCM credit management, so credit limit is not affected?
    Example:
Sales Order value: 1 Mio USD
10% down-payment  >   this would be in the credit exposure visible (net exposure).
90 % covered through LOC  > credit exposure should showing this, or it shows order value and in a negative figure this amount deducted so no effect on exposure.
Down-payment has no relation to LOC. When money is received for this the net exposure of the sales order is 0.
partial invoice: 0.4 Mio USD > it should be possible to link this invoice to the LOC. The posting FI document should have some LOC information, so when payment comes in the amount in LOC is reduced as well as in credit management this open.
Final invoice 0.5 USD: as above, all values go out from exposure if there are any.
A second case would be guarantees, where there is no reduction of values. This would stay same.
Anyone who can advise a solution here?
    Thanks + Regards
    Hein

Letter Of Credit can be used as a standard solution of SAP GTS with ERP solution. Yes you can connect both SAP & no SAP systems with GTS, but plugins, PI etc needs to be built in. But it would not be real time like RFC works. There are some standard available which needs to be hard coded to meet specific requirements.
Connecting LOC to Sales Order, invoice etc, is manual, based on business specific parameters and it comes standard with SAP GTS. Maintaining Values & Quantity of LOC based on actual LOC from bank is also possible. The depreciation of values & quantities is also standard with in LOC in GTS.
You can also setup various communication methods for LOC.
I think when Invoice is raised and payment is received the LOC should be closed in the system. There can also be other scenarios where in system determines LOC based on predefined logics for determination strategy put in to the GTS system.
    Cheers,
    Abir

  • Credit management ECC 6.0 implementation

    Hi Experts/Gurus,
One of our clients have done a technical upgrade from SAP 4.6c to ECC 6.0.
Now they want to know what will be the timeline required for implementation of the Integrated credit management functionality of ECC6.0 in their SAP system if they go on for functional upgrade.
    Now following are my doubts:
    1) How to compare their existing credit management process/Functionality with the new ECC 6.0 integrated credit management functionality?
    2) How to decide upon the timeline required to implement the new credit management functionalityof ECC 6.0?
    Thanks in Advance!

    Hi,
Its depend on your company upgrade strategies, compair 40. credit mgt. functionality & 6.0 functionality.
    then go for upgradre
Heer I some comments on upgrade
    Upgrade Scenarios
Customers who are motivated to upgrade to ECC 6.0 generally pursue at least one of the four key goals just discussed as the primary goal of the upgrade.
    Improved business strategy
    Sustainability
    Operational excellence,
    Lower TCO
SAP takes three major approaches to upgrading, each driven by a different motivation and leading to a different ROI and payback periods.
    u2022 Technical upgrade:
Focuses on risk mitigation and sustainability of the existing SAP solution.
    u2022 Functional upgrade:
Focuses on reducing TCO by reducing system complexity u2013 for example, by returning custom modifications and custom code to SAP standard code
u2022 Upgrade with strategic business improvements:
Considers major reengineering and implementation of new strategic business applications as part of the project scope. These approaches are summarized below.
The three major approaches can be complemented by other compelling changes such as system landscape consolidation, the implementation of shared service center(s), and so forth.
In summary, the more your upgrade decision is driven by business improvement goals, the better your expected ROI. Upgrade experiences and customer statistics confirm that the decision for an SAP software upgrade is usually determined by a mix of business, technology, and strategic criteria.

  • Credit management for IT industry

    Hi,
As we want to use credit management functionality of SAP but really not understand how to implement it
Means at level check should be happen because we are a service industry where we have contract with customer for varying periods 1 year,2 year....etc and accordingly resources are deployed in it.
So our current process is we create the sales contract and do the billling of it.
So at what event ny credit event should trigger-- I can't stop billing bcoz efforts are already been put by resources and i can't check at order level as contract is for long period.
What is the actual process of credit management in a n IT industry ?

  • Credit management - Business functions

    Dear all,
Can you please help me with what Business functions should I activate, to have available the FSCM Credit management?
What is the right secuence to activate this BF?
    Thanks.

Hi Mark thanks for your answer, two additional question,
Can I install SAP Credit Management 6.0 (one system scenario) with in a system with release 6.0 and no ehp packs applied and then activate the Ehp later on after de installation of SAP Credit management?
If my account receivables is in release 6.0, is there any feasible reason to install SAP Credit management 3.0 instead of 6.0?
With SAP Credit management 3.0 in a one system scenario do you still need PI?
    Thanks again.

  • Credit Management Partner Functions

    Hi Experts
I know that KM /KB are included in Sales Order / Delivery Header Partner Functions  for Credit Management.
Want to know the PRACTICAL USAGE for eg Suppose Order is Created for Amt Rs 10000, what role KB /KM which r included in order partner function will play ( mail/ etc ) and how will it be used in SAP
The standard system contains the partner functions credit representative (KB) and credit manager (KM) for credit processing. Both partner functions are allocated to partner type "PE". The credit manager is one level higher than the credit representative. Enter these partner functions in the partner determination procedures of the sales document header and the delivery header so that the partners involved in credit processing can be allocated and identified. Assign value "A" to the partner functions in the Access field.

  • Open Sales Order Values in Credit Managment

    Hi,
    1. I want to include the open sales orders that were created before implementing the functionality of  Credit Managment.  How to check the credit limits for that sales orders.
Fro Example. If i want do the credit checks for 1000 open sales orders.
    2. How to reset the customer credit limit in FD32. I tried using the t.code f.28, but it will not be reset to zero(0).
    Thank you,
    Ravi

    Hello Ravi,
You can try this: in table VBAK, you might have the date when this a particular order was created( ERDAT or sometihng like that..). You'll have to join table VBAK/VBAP/VBRK(billing table)/VBFA and the logic should be that the program should pick up all the orders created before 1 yr and should also check that the items are not rejected, and the delivery not yet created.
    Check the following fields:
    VBAK-ERDAT, VBAP-ERDAT, VBAP-ABGRU, VBAP-AEDAT.
    Regards,
    Raghu.

You can define your own credit groups  according to your client's requirement.
    here is the path....
    IMG > SPRO>SALES AND DISTRIBUTION --> BASIC FUNCTIONS -->

  • Credit management and Terms of Payment

    Hi
Can anybody throw some light on the role of Terms of Payment in .Credit Management.
    Thanks in advance
    Ravi

    Dear sankar ravi,
    Credit management
    Purpose
Outstanding or uncollectible receivables can spoil the success of the company greatly. Credit Management enables you to minimize the credit risk yourself by specifying a specific credit limit for your customers. Thus you can take the financial pulse of a customer or group of customers, identify early warning signs, and enhance your credit-related decision-making. This is particularly useful if your customers are in financially unstable industries or companies, or if you conduct business with countries that are politically unstable or that employ a restrictive exchange rate policy.
    Integration
If you are using the Accounts Receivable (FI-AR) component to manage your accounting and an external system for sales processing, Credit Management enables you to issue a credit limit for each customer. Every time you post an invoice (created in FI-AR), the system then checks whether the invoice amount exceeds the credit limit. Information functions such as the sales summary or early warning list help you to monitor the customer’s credit situation.
If you are using both the Accounts Receivable (FI-AR) component to manage your accounting and the Sales and Distribution (SD) component for sales processing, you can also use Credit Management to issue credit limits for your customers. You can make settings in Customizing to decide the scope of the check and at what stage in the process (for example, order entry, delivery or goods issue) a credit limit should take place. General information functions are also available for use with credit checks.
    Features
If you are using both the SD and FI-AR components, Credit Management includes the following features:
Depending on your credit management needs, you can specify your own automatic credit checks based on a variety of criteria. You can also specify at which critical points in the sales and distribution cycle (for example, order entry, delivery, goods issue) the system carries out these checks.
During order processing, the credit representative automatically receives information about a customer’s critical credit situation.
Critical credit situations can also be automatically communicated to credit management personnel through internal electronic mail.
Your credit representatives are in a position to review the credit situation of a customer quickly and accurately and, according to your credit policy, decide whether or not to extend credit.
You can also work with Credit Management in distributed systems; for example if you were using centralized Financial Accounting and decentralized SD on several sales computers.
    Hope this helps you.
Do award points if you found them useful.
    Regards,
    Rakesh
