Duplicate fields on a second page

Hello,
I have question that I'm hoping someone might be able to answer.
I would like to create a 3 page form that would be used to collect information and printed out. Only pages 2 and 3 would print and a copy given to the relevant department. Ideally, pages 2 and 3 would be hidden from the viewer until they are printed.
The first page would just have all the fields that need to be filled in. I then want to be able to copy the completed fields that relate to Department A to page 2 and copy the completed fields that relate to Department B to page 3.
Can anyone tell me if this can be done and if so, what would be the best way to go about it.
Thanks

As far as the fields being the same on multiple pages you cab set the binding to global and all fields with the same name will have th esame values (automagically).
Regarding the printing it is doable via javascript. You can change the pressence properties of those fields to visble but no print etc...

  • Getting a field value from the first page on the second page in HTML

I have a 2 page form I'm presenting in HTML to the user. The first page they select an action, enter a USERID and click the next page button. (The button executes "xfa.host.pageDown();" on the click action at the server)
On the initialize of the second page I try to get the value of the USERID field from the first page and create a SQL statement to open my data connection. The issue I have is that I cannot get the value of the USERID field. This code works cause if I hardcode a valid value the query works. I tried to work around this by putting the same field on page 2, but it still did not work but the field was populated with displayed. I only assume the data is not populated at the time the initialize is invoked.
Here is my code on the initialize..
    xfa.sourceSet.nodes.item(0).resolveNode("#command.query").commandType = "text"
    xfa.sourceSet.nodes.item(0).resolveNode("#command.query").select.nodes.item(0).value = "Select * from TABLE where userid = '" + xfa.form.resolveNode("form1.Page1.txt_EmployeeLogin").rawValue + "'"
    xfa.sourceSet.DataConnetion.open()
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    THANKS!!

    Hi Steve,
If you haven't already done so, I recommend posting this question in the LivCycle Forms forum.

  • Smartforms - cannot hit second page

    All,
I have created a smart form in which I need two copies.  The second copy varies slightly from the first by having a DUPLICATE text on it.  I had been calling this form twice, however it creates two print spools and is causing an issue for our BASIS guys (form is called a lot).
I copied the FIRST_PAGE to COPY_PAGE.  On FIRST_PAGE, i set next page to COPY_PAGE.  I have attempted to print this, but the second page is never called.  I even put a breakpoint in a code sectioin in the main window of COPY_PAGE.  The first page prints normally.
I have never done a multi page form, and this seems very elementary, but does anyone have any clue what I'm missing?
    Thanks,
    Aaron

Is multiple spool request is the only problem?
You can group multiple smartform output in a single spool.
New spool request creation, using exiting spool request and closing spool request can be control by paramater OUTPUT_OPTIONS of smartform interface FM.

    Hi Scientila Choudary,
Your problem will be cleared once you remove start_form and end_form as these are not necessary.we have to use start_from and end_from when we are operating on different forms.Presently we are operating on only no need to use this.
Once your problem is solved please close this.

  • Report Server 10g - unexpected font change on second page of the report

    Hi all,
I'm having a problem with Oracle Report server 10.1.2.3.0.
It's sometimes using an unusual font (It think it looks like a Greek one).
One example would be when a text overflow from page one to the second page it will change from Times New Roman to a "Greek" font and switches from bold to normal font it still happens in the same "Text" type item just on a new page. However when I update the text in the DB to a longer one so it flows through the whole second page to the 3rd page then it's using the correct font again.
When I open the generated PDF file in a text editor I see an unusual value in one of the font settings "/BaseFont /#53#79#6D#62#6F#6C" when I edit it manually to the value taken from another occurrence of the "BaseFont" in the same file it helps and changes the font to the correct one.
When I export the report to the PDF from report builder it's always using the correct font.
The encoded font "/#53#79#6D#62#6F#6C" translates to: "Symbol"
    select CHR(TO_NUMBER('53','xx'))||CHR(TO_NUMBER('79','xx'))||CHR(TO_NUMBER('6D','xx'))||CHR(TO_NUMBER('62','xx'))||CHR(TO_NUMBER('6F','xx'))||CHR(TO_NUMBER('6C','xx')) from dual;
The correct font is as expected "Times-Roman"
I noticed that this happens only when HTML code is allowed in the Text/field. When I generate HTML version of the report I see after the page break and new table on the new page the following tag <font face="symbol">.  When I set Web Setting->"Contains HTML Tags" set to NO then font stays the same even after the page break.
    Did anyone experienced something similar?
    Thank you,
    Palo

We have had this a few times before and there are 2 ways that most likley will fix this.
If on mac close all adobe apps, do a find for all files with the .lst in their file name. Delete all you .lst files, they are font database files that go corrupt and will regenerate themselves when needed and usually a working copy.
    Close any multiple master fonts you have open in fontbook, and other utility such as Suitcase. Multiple master fonts will have a filename like "Kronos mm", and in the adobe illustrator type >> font menu i believe they have a different icon (possibly a mm) than the others {a(type 1), tt(true type), O (opentype)}
Your problem is likely the 1st option, as the mm problem usually happens while editing the file, while the other is after you open the file. If you still have the problem, you then may have 2 different fonts sharing the same FOND ID number. Close as many fonts as you can, especially the one that looks like your wrong font.

  • Unable to print the report in second page

    Hi,
I've got a problem in the report. Here In a report, I'm able to print the report's data in the first page only. I'm unable to print it in the second page, third page etc.
To rectify the problem, I've selected all the fields and set their property "Print Object on" to All pages. Still the problem exists.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,

What exactly do you mean by 'unable' ? Do you only get a 1 page report, OR do you get multiple pages with the 2nd, 3rd blank OR do the 2nd, 3rd have text but not data OR something else?
"Print Object On" should be "First Page" - it sounds wrong but it's talking about logical pages (which may be multiple physical pages).

  • How do I populate my date fields placed on Master Page for multiple pages?

I have a dynamic form with flowing fields. I inserted date fields using the Master Pages tab within Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES2, Windows 7 OS. I have only 1 Master Page. Everything on the form is working properly, except when I have multiple pages, the date fields are blank on all but the first page. One of the date fields has javascript in the exit event to calculate the second date field. I can manually edit the subsequent page(s) date fields, but I don't want the end user to have to do that. I want the date fields on the new pages to equal the date fields on the first pages. Below is my output with notes to provide a visualization of what I'm looking for.
Many thanks in advance for anyone who can help me with this issue!
    Caroline

    Hey Mandy,
Yes, both date fields are on the Master Page. The first one is set to "User entered - Required" and the second to "Calculated - User Can Override"
And that's right, I used your script to calculate the second date field. The only thing I changed was the field name, and used 6 days instead since I wanted the calendar days to only run a full week, like start on a Monday and end on Sunday.
    Thx,
    C

  • How do I create a text field the scrolls mutliple pages in Adobe Pro XI

How do I create a text field that when filled in the alloted space on one page it opens a second page?

Search the forum for "auto tab"...

  • Create data merged document with data on every second page?

Is it possible to create a data merged document with the variable data only on every second page?
I have set up the pages with the variable data as a master page (on every odd page) with the text box and paragraph style all set up, and I have set 'override master page items' so the data can be placed, but InDesign seems to freeze up when I try to create the merged document?

There should be no problem doing the merge with a two-page master and a two-page template document with fields only on one page (and off the top of my head there's no reason to move them off the master page if that's where you put them). I think the problem here is that rachrachm already has a file of 500 pages (based on another thread asking how to apply masters to every other page).
It's potentially possible to simply place the data file (without the header row) as a text file and auto-flow through the master page frames (can't say for sure without seeing the files), or if the pages without the merge fields are the same just, remove all but the first two pages from the template and do the merge.
As I metioned earlier, though, this is a very inefficient method of producing that sort of document. A true variable data print flow would be better (you'd need to find a commercial printer who can do it with your data file), or the home version would be to make one single page file for the static content, print 250 copies (plus a few extras, just in case), then make a single page merge template, do the merge, and print that on the back of the already printed pages, or as a separate page. It is immeasurably faster to print multiple copies of a document than it is to print a document that has multiple identical pages.

  • "Ghost" page numbers on every second page - how to remove?

    Hi,
I'm setting a short book with Pages and after importing from Word, I'm seeing duplicate, partially hidden additional page numbers on every second page. I'd like to remove them entirely, keeping Pages' page numbering. Removing and inserting page numbers doesn't help and the second set of numbers can't be selected in any way (clicking, dragging don't work). One solution would be to re-import from word, deselecting page numbers beforehand, but I'd rather like avoid this step as I made many changes in Pages.
Here's a screenshot showing the duplicate page numbers: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3304376/pages_bug.png
Does anybody have an idea how to remove them?

    Hello,
Sometimes in the process of importing from Word, page numbers are improperly converted to Master Objects or Background Objects. Go to Format > Advanced > Make Master Objects Selectable. Then, with the cursor in the Margin of the document, press the Command Key (Cursor changes to an Arrow) and drag the cursor diagonally across the page number to select it. Then press the Delete key and the number should be gone. You need to check carefully to make sure that you have eliminated all the instances. There may be one per Section.

  • Problem in navigating 2 second page

    Hi ,
actually the scenario is like this:
    1) when i give the partner no as input it will display the output details as guid,header,item,object_type,partner_no.---first page
    2) Again if i click on the header in this output it have to go next page and have to display the details of header like service order, process type etc.
here upto first part i done .and the i created next page also
i done the following code in first page oninput processing
    CASE event_id.
      WHEN 'clickon'.
        navigation->set_parameter( 'header' ).
        navigation->goto_page('second.htm' ).
    ENDCASE.
i done the following code in next page oninitialization
    data: header type crmd_orderadm_h-guid.
    header = request->get_form_field( name = 'header' ).
    select object_id
    guid
    posting_date
    process_type
created_by from crmd_orderadm_h INTO corresponding fields of
    table index1
    WHERE guid EQ header.
now the problem is i m not able to click on header of first page output .after clicking on that i have to display next page details.
    Please solve the problem

  • How to Supress the Second Page in Smart form

    Hi,
I have First page where there is no Main Window and on the Second page is with Main Window. Now lets say if there is item detais then vlaue will be printed on second page but in case there is no Item details so..the second page should not come only the first page would appear i.e. we need ot supress this second page.
    Thanks,
    Pramod

    Hi
just use the command Describe table ITAB lines v_lines.
    so v_lines <> 0  means items Exist.
so use this field in the condition
Define a Text ELEMENT for the MAIN window data
Before that text element put a condition based on the v_lines field.
    /:  IF V_LINES NE 0.
    /E MAIN
    /:  ENDIF
So when you give print , if no data in internal table it won't print.

  • How to make a text field wrap to next page

I've done my best to find the solution to my problem before coming here to post, so forgive me if I've missed a previously posted solution.
I am a .NET coder, using iText to manipulate PDF's.  I need to create a template for a corporate invoice that will allow me to have header and footer content on a page, surrounding the invoice detail section and have the invoice detail wrap to the next page as necessary.
Criteria:  All pages have the invoice header.  All pages have the invoice footer with pagination (i.e. Page 1 of n).  The number of pages is controlled by the number fo lines in the invoice detail text field.
For example, if the text field holds 30 lines and each line item takes up a single line.  An invoice with 25 line items would only use one page.  If the invoice has 35 line items, the content in the text area needs to flow to page 2 in the invoice detail area.
I have tried every combination I can dream up in Adobe LiveCycle Designer and I cannot get a document set up that will flow from page 1 to page 2.
For me to be able to access invoice detail field in code, it appears that it needs need to be a Text Field.  I've been able to access the fields from my .NET code and fill them in without issue.
What I cannot get is a template that will allow me to put more content in the detail area than fits on page one and have it automatically create a second page and flow the content into the detail area.
Can anyone point me in the right direction, or provide a working sample PDF?
    I.e.
    PAGE 1:
    MY COMPANY
    ADDRESS
    INVOICE #20
    Line item #1
    Lilne item #1 detail
    Line item #2
Line item #2 detail <from here, detail must flow to the detail section of the next page>
    Page 1 of 2
    PAGE 2:
    MY COMPANY
    ADDRESS
    INVOICE #20
    Line item #3
    Lilne item #3 detail
    Line item #4
    Line item #4 detail

While I appreciate the direction to the samples, that is not resolving my issue.  I had already seen the samples before I posted in this forum.
None of the samples have what I've requested assistance with above.
I need a static 3" header, a 5" content area and a 1" footer on every page in a document.  I want to be able to put content in the content area and have it wrap to subsequent pages if the content is more than will fit in the area.  Each subsequent page must also have the 3" header, 5" content area and 1" footer.
This will not be edited in Acrobat, it will be edited in .NET code without human intervention, so having click buttons to add another row to a table is not an option.
I could create the entire PDF programmatically, but I'm seeking to find if Adobe LiveCycle Designer can make the PDF form in an easy to use GUI.
If the details of my need above do not provide a clear requirement, feel free to point that out.
