DV import stops at PAUSE

when i import to imoviehd from my dv cam, it stops importing at every pause on the tape.
i then have to click import again.
how can i get it to import all?????

iMovie handles drop-outs fairly nice but there are some troublesome situations.
• If You recorded in LP-mode (90min to a 60min tape) and playback this on another Camera
You will surely get troubles.
• Record in SP-mode and use same Camera to import into iMovie
• Go to iMovie prefs and de-select "Import as individual clips". You get one big clip but it might
play smoother.
alternative is tedious but in some cases ONLY way.
You need two Cameras
one 4-pin to 4-pin FW-cable
one new tape
• Record the new tape from start to end with just anything eg. a wall - this to get a solid timecode
• Re-wind and now make a Camera to Camera copy of Your original tape. LOCK the ORIGINAL tape not to
get it accidentally erased ! !
• Now try to import the new tape
Cheque settings on both Cameras as SP-mode AND 16-bit sound (12-bit really problematic)

XML import - stopped due to "critical error"

Hi all. For the moment, I'm still working with FCS1/FCP 5.1.4, OS 10.4.11.
In the past, when I've needed to open a project I've started on other machines running 6.0.x, I've done an XML export, and imported said xml file into a new project on my machine. If I recall correctly, XML type 2 worked just fine.
Well, it doesn't work now, and I'm wondering why?
The machine I'm exporting from is running OS10.4.11, and FCP 6.0.3. I've exported the project out of there in all flavors of xml (1,2,3 and 4), with and without clip metadata. And I get nothing on import, bupkus, nada, zilch and zero...except for the oh-so-helpful message "XML import stopped due to critical error"
So who broke this?

I've had this happen to me when the original project contained sequences that used filters not supported by 5.1.4.
My solution was to strip out suspect filters until it worked.

TMS import stops working

Hi Gurus
We have been importing transports into qas client 200 without any problems, we then created client 300 in qas and when we tried to import the transports that were already in the queue, the import started hanging, i checked the logs and saw that the RDDIMPPDP job had been stopped unexpectedly and i restarted the job and i was able to import into 300. The following day i tried to import the remaining transports but it was no longer importing, there is nothing in the. There are no entries in the import History, and the import monitor is just showing that the import is running. Can anyone help me out, what might be causing this???

I didnt understand when you said i should include the client 300configuratio and add the client 300 in the group, how do i do that?
Configuration was done on DEV in client 100, and we were using clint 200 in QAS to test now we have creted a client 300 for training purposes but now import stopped functioning, i canolonger transport even to 200, so is it possible so is it possible to copy using scc1 from client 200 when there was no configuration done there, if possible pliz help me how to go about it, thanks in advance

IPhoto import stops

When I try to import 226 pics from Casio EX-Z500, the import stops, uncompleted with 152 left.

I am trying to import a full DV tape. I don't want to break it into clips; i just want the whole tape stored. The import keeps stoping at various times. I am not low on HD space. One thing that seems to stop it is when the video was stopped and starts again. Other times I just see that the capture has stopped but the video is still running. I set the capture to not break the capture into scenes, thinking that this would make it less sensitive, but no help.

Import stops part way thru

trying to import from my canon zr85 camcorder, and when I hit import, the preview creen on computer is runing in slow motion, AND the import stops a few minuets into the import. Have started over & over & it stops at random points on the tape.
Last week I sucessfully imported 10 hours of tape (from another camera). I am using firewire connection. Any thoughts, am I missing something?

I'm getting similar behavior using my Canon Elura 90. iMovie allows the tape to play all the way to the end, but at seemingly random points it just stops importing what is playing. One thing that I have noticed is that if +anything at all+ (screensaver, iCal alarm, etc) comes up on the screen in front of iMovie, the import will always quit at that point. But it also seems to quit at random points even if nothing comes up. It's already taken me several hours to import my 1-hour Christmas tape, and I'm not half done yet, because I've got better things to do on Christmas day than sit and babysit the import. (I can't do anything else on the computer meanwhile because that will of course stop the import.)

Videos stop or pause on iPad 3 using wifi

How do you stop videos (You Tube, Socialcam) from stopping or pausing on IPad 3 using wifi? I am unable to watch more than 1second without having to hit play again.

Most likely a slow Internet connection
Subscribe to a faster Internet package e.g. 5Mbps or 10Mbps
Note: Weak Internet signal can also cause the problem.

Stop vs. pause

This is a question I see a lot. I am very disappointed that apple has not step up to the task of creating a stop function. tsk tsk apple.
First every one knows that the play pause button does just that it plays and pauses the selection you are on. And if you hold it for a couple seconds it powers down you unit. That being said.
Here is the only way that I have found to stop current selection from playing. You keep repeatedly pressing the back or rewind key. What this does is takes you back through all the selections you have played recently. Now please remember if you have played an hour worth of songs you will have to go back to the first song before the rewind button actually stops the ipod from playing. Also if you have used the forward button several times then you will have to rewind through those also even tho you didnt play them.
Again it ***** there is no stop funtion for the Ipod only a state of pause or unpause, or skip backwards through all of the played selections since the last time your devise was in a state of pause.
Please make yourselves heard let Apple know they need to update the software of all ipods to give a stop funtion weather it be through a selection screen or making a double tap of the rewind button.

If you consider iPod's & iPod-like devices in this context, it seems to me that what you want is not really a conventional "Stop" function at all, but something more like a "Reset" function that pauses playback, displays some menu screen, and resets the play/pause function to next do ... what? If this was a CD player capable only of playing a single CD at a time, it would make sense that the next press of the play/pause button would start track 1 ... but it isn't a CD player & playback order isn't defined only (or for most users, regularly) by album track number.
As it is, if you want to access a menu to change playback order, you just use that button to do so ... & you can do this even while something else is playing. If you want nothing to play while you make the change, then tap the play/pause button. If you want a real "Stop" function that stops everything from using power, press & hold the play/stop button until the unit powers down.
Bottom line: The "state of stopped" is neither necessary or of any real value for devices like iPods, which offer more flexible ways to do more than devices for which that state is actually just a limitation we get used to because we have no other choice.

My ipod stops or pauses while I am walking...I am using the nike sensor with my Ipod. Will it pause when I stop walking for a period of time?

I have purchased the nike sensor to use with my Ipod touch. I tried it on the golf course and it kept pausing after time.. I tried the different ways to work out eg basic, timed, calories...but it kept pausing after a short distance. Is this because you stop and start with golf? Is there a setting I can adjust?

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:

Error while running User Profile Import - Stopped-extension-dll-load

I'm receiving below error message in event viewer while running user profile import for the first time with event ID 6166:
The management agent "MOSS-" failed on run profile "MOSS_EXPORT_". The run step stopped because a configured extension for this management agent could not be loaded.
User Action
Verify that the extension is located in the Extensions directory. If the extension is present, confirm that the version of the .NET framework that can run the extension is installed on the server and that a supportedRuntimes entry in the configuration
files specifies that version. The synchronization engine will not be able to load an extension that is built with a newer version of the .NET framework than the version of the .NET runtime it is hosting.
At the same time , in miisclient "stopped-extension-dll-load" message for MOSS_EXPORT,MOSS_FULLSYNC, MOSS_DELTASYNC. Can any help to let me understand what will be causing this issue?

For this issue, I recommend verify the things below:
Check if the connection name of the Synchronization Connections created in User Profile Service Application has more than 55 characters. If yes, please rename the connection with less than or equal to 55 characters.
Check if the length of the full path to the dll called “Microsoft.Office.Server.UserProfiles.ManagementAgent” is
greater than 160. If yes, then we can move the extension Microsoft.Office.Server.UserProfiles.ManagementAgent.dll to the folder c:\windows\assembly\GAC_MSIL and then do an IISRESET.
If above cannot work, please check ULS log for more detailed error message.

New macbook, iPhoto import stopping

i have a new macbook pro, just got it yesterday and there is nothing on it yet. Every time i plug my iPhone into it to import the photos, it imports everything until about halfway and then it stops. and it just stays on that one picture. I've forced closed the app and relaunched it to try again many times but it keeps doing the same thing. how do i get it to actually finish the import????

If you're legally entitled, the App Store will offer the latest update and install it for free. In Lion and Mountain Lion, you need iLife '11 as the previous versions are incompatible. The update does not affect the all important iPhoto library containing your graphic treasures. Latest iPhoto '11 version is 9.3.2 (670.63). VHS import stops/starts

I am converting my old VHS tapes to iMovie via my Canon mini DV camera. Some of these tapes are over 10 years old and are full of stopping and starting. In iMovie, I have turned OFF the "Start new clip at scene break" to try to import the entire tape as big clips.
As it is importing, it goes for about 45 seconds and then can't read the tape and stops the clip. Sometimes it will start to play again but it loses the 5-10 seconds that it was searching for the tape. I am not copying the VHS on to the mini DV, just using the camera as a converter.
The tape heads are clean and continues to play on the screen on the camera. I have tried different cables, but can't keep a solid stream into the computer.
Any suggestions on how to get the tape to play all the way to the end as one continuous clip (or smaller clips that are broken up by iMovie automatically)?

If your tapes have been stored invertical, they may very well have stiffend as ovals same as with tires stored standing up!
No longer round and therefore not winding through at same speed, this manifests itself on tv as streaky snow and loss of sound and pict.
(This is why we trow away old tapes, some of my tv tapes are 8 years old and in weekly use but quality is dvindling! Gonna get a harddiscrecorder soon)
Use a old vcr and try speedwinding back and forth afew times that may help?
if not you need proffesional help from a company
There could also be a connection prob and the "gurus" here may answer that?

Mac mini bluetooth audio connection stops when paused

Hello!
I have a Mac mini late 2012, i5 Version, 2.5Ghz as my home Desktop. The OS is 10.9.5 Mavericks.
It's connected to a Logilink Bluetooth to 30 pin dock connector adapter, standing on an Apple Dock, connected to my Home Stereo. My Problem is, that everytime i pause the audio on my mini, the bluetooth connection just stops, and if i press play again, it plays through my internal speaker again.
I temporarily fixed this by playing a 10hour version of a song with 0 volume on itunes, but this shouldn't be a long-time solution.
I tried it with another bluetooth adapter, another dock, another home stereo. The issue probably is Mavericks, with it's awesome bluetooth settings, connect or don't connect.
Is there any program out there which sets the connection to permanent? Or is there an other solution?

2 out of 6 imported flv files pausing on frame 1 when published

Hi,
I have six Scenes, each scene has an imported FLV file.
I have a 6 button menu that works fine when clicking from one scene to the other.
The problem is is that videos 1 to 4 play fine when I switch to the scene, but FLV files 5 and 6 just stay paused at frame 1.
If I test the Scene using Ctrl+ALT+Enter, the Scenes work fine.
But Only if I either hit Ctrl+Enter to render the whole project, or if I publish the file, do the FLV files pause on frame 1.
All 6 videos are coded exactly the same way.
Any suggestions please?

I'm wondering now if it some sort of memory thing or SWF limitation thing
The Scenes are Lessons 1 to 6
If I publish the SWF, then Lessons 1 - 4 play fine, 5 and 6 just sit at their frame 1 as if paused.
If I move the scenes around to say: Lessons, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, 4
then 5, 6, 1 and2 play but now 3 and 4 are paused.
so it seems it affects the last 2 of the six scenes.
any one got any idea on why this might be happening?
