Dyld: shared cached file was build against a different libSystem.dylib?

Hi
i have a strange error when i open terminal or the console:
dyld: shared cached file was build against a different libSystem.dylib, ignoring cache.
so i know how to repair this so i did:
sudo update_dyld_shared_cache -force
And when i did that, i get some strange warning :
warning, could not bind /System/Library/QuickTime/QuickTimeMPEG4.component/Contents/MacOS/QuickTimeMPEG 4 because realpath() failed on
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreMedia.framework/Versions/A/CoreMedia
update_dyld_shared_cache[1255] current cache file is invalid because it contains a different set of dylibs
update_dyld_shared_cache failed: could not resolve _CGSAcceleratorForDisplayAlias expected in /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Versions/A/Application Services in /System/Library/QuickTime/QuickTimeComponents.component/Contents/MacOS/QuickTim eComponents
And this message still comes up! :
dyld: shared cached file was build against a different libSystem.dylib, ignoring cache.
It's realy annoying, please help?!

We have been suffering this too. Fortunatly, finally, we figure out how to clear the share cache via Safe Boot now. Sharing with everybody:
-Shut down your Mac.
-Start your Mac, and keep pressing Shift key when the start music begins.
-When Apple logo comes, the spinning ball appears, you can leave the Shift key.
-Your certain OS open, and your caches will be cleaned.
-Then Restart your certain OS.
Now, congratulations, you will never see the warning message in your Terminal or Console.
Hope this helpful.

  • Dyld: shared cached file is corrupt: /var/db/dyld/dyld_shared_cache_ppc

My Leopard is an upgrade from Tiger. I created a new Droplet and discovered that the error message in the title of this post was produced each time the Droplet was called. There was no failure at the GUI level. Weird, since I have an Intel based Mac not a PowerPC (ppc suffix in message). Also, I found that dyldshared_cacheppc did not exist in the dyld directory. The following Terminal command fixed the problem:
    updatedyld_sharedcache -force
I hope this post saves time for others.

Not only did you save me time, you saved my sanity. I've been on the brink of being institutionalized for weeks having tried a million other solutions to no avail. This worked magically. Can't thank you enough!!!!

  • Lightroom changes file date (build and changeing date) by jpg files

    Hallo
I am using Lightroom on Mac OS X Snow Leopard. The Problem is that Lightroom changes both dates of the file (the date when the file was build and the date when you have made changings on the file) when i save the Metadates to the file.
This happens only by jpg files. By raw / xmp files is the date of the raw file not changed, the both dates of the xmp are also changed like by jpg.
I want not to change the time when the file was build. So that i can see in the Finder / Explorer when the file was build ( Photo taken).
How can I solve this Problem.
    Thanks for Help

Do not save the metadata to the files. It's quite unnecessary to do so, but of course, you should have full backups of the images and the catalog(s) [.lrcat].

  • LR 3 will not link to external drive since install of Cache file for another program?

Thumb nails link to the new Cache file on the external hard not the original catalog location on the drive. I can find the files on the drive doing a search in LR but each has to be located individually and confirmed and I have thousands. I deleted the Nikon Capture NX 2 Cache file and its contents but the LR file search still comes up (General> Capture NX Cache). General is the name of the HD with the catalog links. 2 Generals show in both program browsers even though the new Cache file was deleted and does not show when you scan the General HD. Beware LR users keep HD dedicated to LR files only!
Can anyone tell me how to get LR 3 to recognize the original General HD?

    Error -36 = I/O error
I have this similar issue before with my external HD. The worst case is that suddenly my external HD would not connect at all. Mac OS does not recognize the device. I end up reformatting the whole HD to Mac format.
I guess the problem is that Mac is having problem reading and writing to a windows formatted drive. I have a few thumb drive that will only work on windows pc but not Mac. Couldn't reformatting it under Mac either. Weird...

  • When situation causes Firefox cache file to have Windows modified date more recent than the access date?

I'm reviewing a report from a forensic examination of a hard drive from a Windows machine. In that report are Firefox 3.x cache files where the Windows modified date is more recent than both the Windows created date and the Windows accessed date, with the latter two dates the same. For instance, the modified date might be March 23, 2011 at 10:30 am, and the created and accessed dates might be March 17 at 9:50 pm. What actions, by Firefox, a user, or some other program (other than a date-modification tool) would cause this state of affairs? I'm generally familiar with these dates and under what conditions they change, but have found no doc explaining this particular situation...

    In your example,
*the site was originally visited on March 17 at 9:50 pm and the cache entry was created; at that time all three dates should be the same
*the user visited the site again and the information in that cache file was modified on that second visit, March 23, 2011 at 10:30 am
*my experience makes me agree with the first answer in the first link below that accessed timestamp on Windows system is not always accurate; '''''AND''''' accessed timestamp differs for files and folders as defined in the third link below

  • Hyper-V 2012 R2 - Problem accessing shared VHDX file

We're in the process of building a greenfield environment based upon a Windows 2012 R2 Hyper-V virtual infrastructure. A 12 node failover cluster (AD integrated) was build, for now 2 CSV volumes are created. We are now working on a virtual SQL 2012 Failover
Cluster on top of the Hyper-V cluster. First we created a (Gen 2) VM with Windows 2012 R2 installed on it, then we (offline) added a new VHDX file (on the same CSV volume) and in the advanced features, we select 'Enable virtual hard disk sharing'. We boot
the VM, disk manager sees a new disk, trying to initialize the disk and an error states 'The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.'
If we disable the advanced sharing option, the disk is accessible, can be initialized and a volume can be created. Enable the feature again and we are in the same phase as where we need to (again) initialize the disk which is not possible. We have the same
problem with a Gen 1 VM.
The CSV volumes reside on a Dell Equallogic storage and are connected via iSCSI, beta of Dell Hit Kitt is installed on the Dell Blade servers (Hyper-V nodes). The CSV volumes have a 4K blocksize, could this be an issue?

    Hi Mark,
Even if I'm not sure I can help you with everything (especially with Perl configuration) I didn't want for your post to remain unanswered.

I'm not sure how your application scenario looks like (maybe you can tell us more) and what amount of data you use for the test (numebr of records, key/data size), compared to the size of cache, but the statistics are looking great. Is the cache size corresponding to the size of a normal working data set?

The regions contain all of the per-process and per-thread shared information, including mutexes, that comprise a Berkeley DB environment. For example, one of the shared memory segments will be the transactional information for the system, and one (or more) of them will be the cache. What Berkeley DB product/flags are you using?
Please let me know if this helped and if you have other questions.

It turns out that /usr/lib/gdk-pixbuf-2.0/2.10.0/loaders.cache was created with permissions 640 (due to my umask). The solution was to chmod 644 it.

Hopefully it will be of help to someone.

  • Content Engine Network Module for Caching File Server Objects

We have a content engine network module for a 2821 router located at a branch office that we'd like to use for clients to obtain locally cached file objects from a Windos server located at our headquarters or corporate office. I've been looking for some sample configs or documentation that will show me that this is possible and on how to do it since this is my first time ever doing. All I was able to find so far was the link below under "Support of Preloading of NTLM Authenticated Objects", but it seems incomplete in providing configuration tasks that most CCO doc's usually provide. Has anyone else had any luck finding some useful doc's or sample configs to get this accomplish? Thanks in advance.

You can't cache Windows Files using the Cache Engines.
You CAN do this using WAFS though. I'd suggest looking at the WAFS (or upcoming WAAS) products, which use WCCP like the Cache Engines to transparently redirect Windows File Sharing requests.

  • Media Cache Files? Do I need them?

I was checking what's taking place of my hard drive and found about 22 GB of hard disk space occupied from this folder
    C:\Users\Me\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\Media Cache Files
In this Media Cache Files folder there were 459 files of type .cfa and .pek files. 13 of the .cfa  files were about 1.6 GB size each
What are these files for and do I need to keep them?

    Read about 'em:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/premierepro/cs/using/WSa41b87baf39dd9b0-4a7aee25125bce32690-80 00.html
Bottom line, if you clean the media cache using one of the apps (Encore or Premiere for example) and the source files are still on line, it won't delete them.  You can manually delete those pek and cfa, and if you open a project with those files, it will recreate them.
Note that Encore help only says:
Clean Database . Frees up additional disc space by removing old files in the media cache database shared by Adobe audio and video applications. The database tracks media accelerator files that improve performance and speed. For example, if Adobe Premiere Pro creates a conformed audio file, and you import media with that audio into Encore, Encore uses the file from Adobe Premiere Pro instead of creating a new conformed file. The media cache database informs Encore of the conformed file’s location.

  • Single shared cache for Bridge CS5 and CS6

I currently have Photoshop CS5.1 and CS6 installed on my Mac. Although I am only using CS6 for my work I have kept the previous version installed just in case any problems emerge with CS6 using Mountain Lion.
My simple question is whether or not I have to maintain separate cache folders for both versions of Bridge or whether they can actually be shared? At present I have two separate cache folders but the CS6 version is larger for some reason. I use Lightroom 4 generally for Raw processing.

Yes at present I have the original cache that was created by CS5.1 and then a second one that was created by CS6. These are stored by default in the User's Library but I read somewhere that performance was enahnced if they were moved to the same folder as the images, so I did that did that manually.
Apart from the space saving it occured to me that a shared cache would mean both versions stayed up to date but I wonder about the difference between the two different Raw processing engines and suspect that would be the biggest block against using a shared cache. I can't remember ever seeing this point addressed by Adobe so it would be good to have an authoritative answer one way or another.

  • Shared object files no longer saving in Chrome

Google Chrome     12.0.742.112 (Official Build 90304)
    Flash     10,3,181,34
    OS: Vista 64
Shared object files (.sol files) stopped saving to my local machine some time since 10pm on 6/28/11 (EST).  I assume Chrome updated when my computer randomly shut itself off in the evening of 6/29/11, and that it was after this that this bug started to occur (after research, it looks like Flash updated and caused this problem?).  Prior to this random shut off, Chrome had not been closed/restarted in 4-6 weeks.  I know for a fact that .sol files were storing properly late on 6/28.
I also know that .sol files are storing properly on Firefox.  And that my flash storage is still set to Unlimited for all websites.  I have confirmed that it is not website specific (tested on 2 different sites).  I could not find any odd setting in the Chrome Options panel that would be causing this either.
Any suggestions?  I play flash game professionally, and not being able to have my games save means I can't use Chrome until this is fixed.
    Thanks very much!

Hi, I've put together some info that gives some background on this issue. It's a little lengthy, but wanted you to have an idea the areas that are involved in this. Cutting to the chase: Don't delete browser cookies either manually nor automatically as this removes the LSO's as well. My question that I had back in May was answered by using a third party to remove browser cookies, as CCleaner. However, I've read that CCleaner is also removing the LSO's. So any third party browser cookies you might want to use, I'd make sure before hand any risk involved.
I don't understand why when this was all implemented and set up, that a simple choice wasn't made. Delete History, Delete browser Cookies, Delete LSO's. That's my opinion on it.
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/526/52697ee8.html      LSO's and Global Settings
In addition to Security updates in this 10.3.181.14, there is included a Flash Settings Panel Manager.
Users now have a simpler way to clear local storage from the browser settings interface – similar to how users clear their browser cookies today. Flash Player 10.3 integrates control of local storage with the browser’s privacy settings in Mozilla Firefox 4, Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 and higher, Google Chrome 11 (Available in Chrome Dev Channel), and a future release of Apple Safari.
Flash Player Settings Manager as relating to Cookies/History/LSO's    5/20/11
Please uncheck the checkbox in your browser to delete cookies upon exit. Starting with 10.3, Flash Player has implemented the Flash Player LSO clearing feature to remove Flash LSOs (sometimes mistakenly called Flash cookies) from the browser context. Therefore, if this checkbox is checked, your Flash Player LSOs (saved games, saved logins) will be deleted as well.
So far, browser vendors who have implemented this functionality have chosen to combine cookies with Flash LSOs with regards to clearing history. This should give you the granularity that you need: If you clear your history and you tell the browser to clear cookies as well, Flash LSOs will be cleared. If you clear your history but you don't select cookies, Flash LSOs will remain on the machine.
Of the currently shipping browsers, IE8, IE9 and Firefox 4 have chosen to combine cookies and Flash LSOs. Earlier versions of these browser don't support this new functionality. Other browsers may support this functionality in future versions.
Hi OreaTivona, Please unselect the option to delete cookies when closing the browser. This will otherwise delete your Flash "cookies" (the correct term is LSO - Local Shared Objects) when you close your browser. As mentioned earlier, this is new in Flash Player 10.3. The Flash Player is now more tightly integrated with browsers due to privacy concerns. This has the effect that if you choose to delete cookies (either manually or on exit of the browser), these LSOs will be removed along with the regular browser cookies. Thanks, Stephen Flash Player team
