Dynamic display-only checkbox

How can I make a checkbox display only depending on the value of another item on the page?
I imagine I need to add a process based on htmldb_item.checkbox but I cannot figure out how

1-If you have a checkbox item , you can use Condition Type =
Value of item in expression 1 = expression 2
2-Otherwise with APEX_ITEM.CHECKBOX :
APEX_ITEM.CHECKBOX(1,PK,
decode(your_item ,NULL,NULL,your_item )
3- with javascript, if you need it :
APEX_ITEM.CHECKBOX(1,PK,
decode(your_expression ,

If yes, there are concepts like RTTS which facilitates it.
Yes, the select query also supports dynamic selection of fields. ( Please care about ( ) in dynamic sql ).
Do more research on Field Symbols and statements like ASSIGN COMPONENT OF.

Problem with a Display Only field based on a dynamic LOV

I have a field/item which is based on a dynamic LOV:
select DESCRIPTION display_value, STATUSID return_value
from CTCXFRREQS_STATUS_LOV
order by 1
...and I need it to be display-only on the page. However, if I make it a display-only field, the return value is displayed, not the display value. If I change it to be a select list field, the display value is shown, as I expect and need.
The field was based on a static LOV before, and it worked perfectly then.
Has anyone seen this before, and have any suggestions on how to work around it?

Can we display only the required columns dynamically?

Hi All,
I have a scenario where in I have 30 columns in the rtf template. All the columns will never be displayed, only a select few will be available for display. So the output file is show blank columns. Now I want to display only the columns which contain data.
FYI- We cannot know which columns consist data until we run the report.
Any Advice.

You can use the following:
Column header:

The @column will tell XMLP wheater or not the column shall be shown.

Dynamic hyperlinks as Display Only item?

Hi, I need to add a hyperlink on a page, and the hyperlink will partially be derived from a page item on that page.
When I put a Display Only item on that page, with the source type as Static Assignment and set to something like:
<a href="http://webserver/page.html?number=:P2_NUMBER">blah</a>It displays exactly that, ignoring the HTML, and doesn't display it as a link.
Simple I'm sure, but what am I doing wrong?

What you set for the item would be its value (of an input HTML item)
Try adding it to post or pre-element text of the item as
<a href="http://webserver/page.html?number=&P2_NUMBER.">blah</a>

Dynamically displaying a new region (row?) based on immediate user input

Whew, figuring out a title was almost as hard as trying to explain what I want to do!
Okay, a little background first.
My app has 178 main data fields, spread across about 35 tables. The users want to be able to search any and all data fields. So, I wrote a PL/SQL package that for each master record, loops through all of the child tables and creates (more or less) an XML file for each master record (which I store in a CLOB field). When any data in any table is changed, a trigger fires to re-update that CLOB field as well. I then used Oracle Text to create an index on the CLOB field, and now the users can search across all of the available information for each master record and get a list of which records contained what they were looking for.
So here's the first part of the problem. The app is a Mineral Occurence database for all mineral information world-wide. Say they enter "Brazil" as what they want to search for, they not only retreive all of the mineral sites in Brazil, but also all of the sites where one of the mining companies may be based in Brazil, or Brazil is one of the comments, etc. While this is the expected behaviour, it's still not quite what they expected (but they also don't want to get rid of this behaviour either).
So, since the CLOB field is already formatted with XML-type tags, what I want to do is to have an Advanced Search page, where the user can specify the table name to search, or the field name, or both. What I'd like to do is at the end of each line, have a select list with an "AND" or "OR' box, and if that gets a value, then dynamically create another 'row' underneath the first row, with the same three 'boxes' (actually select lists), and continue on until the user has specified exactly what they want to search for.
I would rather not have to create a whole bunch of regions or rows, and then determine at runtime whether or not to display them.
So i would have (using underscores as the boxes/fields):
Table to Search Field to Search And/Or
______________ _____________ _______Each of the above would be a select list.
Anybody have ideas on how I can accomplish this? Any Javascript or AJAX-type solutions that a dummy like me can easily implement? I've seen something almost similar on Carl's example pages to Hide/Show a region(?), but understanding the underlying code and then modifying it for what I want to do is extremely complicated (for me) at best.

Well, after searching through the QBE results (even some of mine), the only thing that comes close is Earl's (http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=36337:14). Actually his layout is almost perfect and pretty identical to what I want/need. Vikas' example seems like what I've toyed with on some other pages in my app, using a simple UNION ALL with nulled fields in the select statement, which won't work for what I need, at least I can't seem to visualize how I could incorporate that same code logic.
However, unlike Earl's, when/if the last column (which I'd have as the 'AND/OR' select list) is populated, I'd like to dynamically display another new row.
Now I know I could do it by making the last column a 'Select List With Submit', but that would neccessitate my creating about 25 regions (to hopefully cover the max any of the users would ever need), and then conditionally display the region based on whether or not the previous 'AND/OR' condition field was populated. It would also require a whole slew of page refreshes, which is clunky.
It seems like there should probably be a way with AJAX to accomplish something similar. I think I remember seeing something along these lines in the last year or so on here, but I can't find it.
Something like a cross-breed of Earl's example page above mixed with Carl's example at http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=11933:39:4740898821262791902::NO:RP:: which would automatically fire on the poplulation of the last select list is probably the best I can accomplish, unless somebody has some better ideas on how to do this. Using Carl's htmldb_remix code, I can avoid all the submits and the resulting page refreshes, but the code itself will take an old dummy like me a while to figure out.

How to dynamically display .flv files in website

I'm using a JSP for my interface.?? In the webpage, I want to pass a java variable, which holds the url to the video that was retrieved from the database, to the flash player script to dynamically determine which video to play.?? For example, this code in the page will play a movie successfully:

The only difference in the two is that in the second, I use a java variable to set the flash Variables. The variable I use is <%= flashVars %>?? which is equal to: &MM_ComponentVersion=1&skinName=Halo_Skin_3&streamName=movies/Video2&autoPlay=false&autoRe wind=false
When I view the resulting page source code after building and running the site, The source code is exactly the same for both of them yet one works and one doesn't.?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've been searching google all day to figure this one out. I'm not simply trying to play a video, I can already do that... I'm retrieving the location of the video from the database and trying to pass it as an argument to the player, no different than if I was dynamically displaying an image or some text. For some reason I'm not able to do this.

WAD - display only the last value in the chart

I designed a chart in WAD wich displayed a range of values in a line. Now im searching for a possibility to display the value for the points in my chart, but not for all values, only for the last value in the line! And every month the line will extended with new value-points, so it is necassary that the function is dynamic, always for the last point in the chart the value should displayed!?

hi @ all... once more information:
the chart displayed only one keyfigure of a query. for example it display the revenue per month. in jan. = 10, feb. = 15, mar. = 25, apr. = 13, jun. = 23. these values should be displayed in a line in the chart aaaand additional for the last one in the line the valuecaption direct in the chart (f.e.: jun. = 23). not for all "periods-points"only for the last one.
in jul. = 25 the chart changed and only for july the value-caption should be displayed. Is it possible?

Custom infotype - issues with conversion class - making fields display only

I created the custom infotype 9008 using t-code PM01, created conversion class ZCL_HRPA_UI_CONVERT_9008_XX and assigned it to screen structure ZHCMT_BSP_PA_XX_R9008 in the view V_T588UICONVCLAS. Coded the methods IF_HRPA_UI_CONVERT_STANDARDOUTPUT_CONVERSION and IF_HRPA_UI_CONVERT_STANDARDINPUT_CONVERSION. I'm trying to make some fields display only within the method OUTPUT_CONVERSION dynamically. Coded the check class ZCL_HRPA_INFOTYPE_9008 with business logic.
Everything seems to be working fine when I test using the test tool through t-code PUIT_UI.
When I try to create/modify 9008 record through PA30, the code in the methods OUTPUT_CONVERSION and INPUT_CONVERSION is never getting executed. The control is not coming there at all. The fields are allowing input. Any idea why this is happening.
We are on ECC 6.0 and at service pack level SAPKE60035. Couldn't find any relevant SAP notes as well. Appreciate your help in this regard.

in the layout click on the layout symbol and check the subtotal checkbox for the filed you want to display the subtotals.. sort as per the sequence you want and save the layout...
this can be done if the field catalog is defined to do sum for that fields..

Display only - losing data

I am using apex 4
I have a page item that is display only. It gets populated dynamically as the user enters data.... works fine. However, during the validation process if there is a validation failure page returns it 'loses' its data. I have set the 'Save Session State' to yes and it still fails. Is there a simple solution to this ?

Need to get display only mode in ess

What settings should I use so that on the ESS Personal Profile the users get a display only profile with a details button on the right as shown in the image. Currently the details only show up when somebody is maintaining the PERNR from the ECC system. Speedy help would be greatly appreciated.

I have maintained the table V_T588MFPROPC as you told, earlier this table was empty.
GBDAT is filed name for Date of Birth.
So I found out GBDAT in standard table V_T588MFPROPS and maintained our earlier table exactly like that. In my case country grouping is 99.
But after maintaining, there is no options to check as read only.
There are some checkbox which is not in english.
Please check the attachments and tell me what to do.

Form Field Display Only

Is there anyway within ADDT to specify a form field that is input on insert but display only on update? Marking the field read-only makes it so for both. I would like to let the user input the data, not be able to change it, but still see it for reference.

If I understood correctly you want to allow the user to input data on insert but only be able to see the field value on update. You can make a form field available on insert/update/or both and have it display as text (so that the user can see if for reference but not be able to change it) by clicking on the Manage Dynamic Form wizard icon in the Developer Toolbox bar and changing the corresponding settings.
<br />These options however don't cover your scenario as you want the field to be editable on insert only. I tried tweaking the generated ADDT code but it didn't work. The only other way to do this that I can think of would be to add the read-only attribute dynamically, that is on update only. The code to add to the field would simply be:
<br /><%If Request.QueryString("ID") <> "" Then Response.Write("readonly='readonly'")%>. This code simply checks to see if a record ID is being passed to the dynamic form page and if it is then we know we're on an update page so the readonly field attribute is added (I code in VBScript so the code might be slightly different in your case).

Display Only / Non-editable parameters on concurrent programs

Is there a way to have a parameter be "display only" ... and not make it available to the user to change?
Example:
PO Number From:
PO Number To:
User enters PO Number From parameter, then the PO Number To parameter is prefilled with the value entered in PO Number From, but the user cannot change it. But it is available on the parameter screen for the user to see.
Is there a way to do this?

I don't think there's a default way from oracle to make parameter field "read only",
but I can suggest a workaround though for your case.
for example PO_NuMBER_FROM is having value set PO_NUM
you can create new value set specifically for PO_NUMBER_TO (for example PO_NUM_TO).
in the where condition of the new value set you can put condition to make it the same as PO_NUM, for example :
where segment1 = :$FLEX$.PO_NUM
This will make PO_NUMBER_TO LOV could only have one value which is same with PO_NUMBER.
To show the default value in LOV, you can put the default value for paramter PO_NUMBER_TO as SQL Statement with value (for example ) : Select segment1 from po_headers_all where segmetn1 = :$FLEX$.PO_NUM.
To make it perfect, you can make the paramter "Required" checkbox to Yes, so finally it should behave like below :
1. PO_NUMBER_TO LOV will show default value same as PO_NUMBER_FROM shown as default
2. Only one value in LOV, so user can't change into other value.
3. The parameter is required so user can't change it into null.

Dynamically displaying multi parameters values

implemented some of the demos posted in this site. BTW, kudos to
all who contributed all those demos.
Well, I after trying most of the demos, I am trying to
implemented .... dynamically displaying content from the xml file
when users click on multiple choices. Let say, I have the check
boxes for the following option:
Subjects: [ ] Math [ ] Biology [ ] Computer Science and so
on.
So when the users click on these checkboxes, it will display
books related to the selected subject/s.
If anybody have implemented similar functionality, can you
please give me an idea/suggestion? Any help will be appericated.

Basically, firstly it creates the checkboxes with the diff
subjects to select. Once we start selecting those subjects, it shld
start displaying the related books with titles, subject and
description. However, the "or" doesn't seems to work .... any
suggestion will be appericated.
