Dynamic Drill Column Fill

Hi,
I have a requirement where in I have to construct a drill down report. The hierarchy is as follows :
Club
Division
Branch Name
Initially only Club Name and Transaction count field are displayed on the report which are drillable.
When we click on the club name it drills downs to the different divisions under that club.
In the report I do also have the total field which sums the value of the transaction count :
What I need to do is : Dynamically replace the text to display " Division1 Total : " ......when on the Division Level or " Branch1 Total : " when at the Branch level or "Club 1 Total: " when at the club level.
I would like to know whether is there a dynamic way to represent the information.
Thank you,
boe user

It is possible with the help of below formula:
If(DrillFilters([Brach Name]) Not Equal to "") Then "Branch 1 Total:" ElseIf(DrillFilters([Division]) Not Equal to "") Then "Division 1
Total:" ElseIf(DrillFilters([Club]) Not Equal to "") Then "Club 1 Total:" Else "Total"
You can also replace Branch 1 etc in the formula with [Branch Name]+" Total:" , so that it will give the exact name of the
object on which the drill is done.
Note: please replace Not Equal to text in the formula with the operator (<>) as it is not appearing in the post.

Rohit

  • Dynamic Drill Column Fill Business Objects Release 2

    Hi,
I have a requirement where in I need to populate the column dynamically based on what is in the section as the report is drilled down to various levels.
Below is the example of what is the requirement :
2001 ( This is a section on Year and drillable)
    State Sales Revenue
    California 100
    Arkansas 46
    2001 Total 146
When I click on 2001 ...the report will drill down to Quaters
    Q1
    California 20
    Arkansas 20
    Q1 Total 40
What I am trying to achieve is display Q1 Total dynamically. Although it sums properly I need to show it as Q1 Total.
At present whatever formula I use only keeps it as 2001 Total no matter however deep I drill....but it sums properly.
Below are the differnt codes I tried :
    =If(DrillFilters([Year )= " " ;(If(DrillFilters([Q1] )= " ";"Fun"; [Q1])) ;[Year])
Please let me know if there is a way to acheive this. I am using Business Objects Release 2

  • Dynamic Drill Down Column wise in Webi Report

    Hi All,
I need to have dynamic drill down functionality in my webi report.
    For example
    I have Columns;
Fiscal Year, Fiscal Quarter, Plant, No. of PO line (4 columns).
    Drill down on Plant level.
When i click on plant a new column should be added in webi report.
    Now my report should look like this;
Fiscal Year, Fiscal Quarter, Plant, Buyer, No. of PO line (5 columns)...(New column Buyer is added)
    How to do this.
    Please help me guys.
    Thanks in advances!!!
    Regards,
    Gaurav Nayar

    Hi,
What you want is possible as long as the table formatting you have helps.
What you can do is add a column to the table.  Then use the following formulas
    Formula in Column Name Cell:
    =If(Drillfilters([Plant])="") Then "" Else Nameof([Buyer])
    Formula in Column Values Cell:
    =If(Drillfilters([Plant])="") Then "" Else ([Buyer])
Now, what I meant by "as long as your table formatting you have helps" is that, you need to change the border colors of the extra column to match with the report blank area, means the borders should be white in colour and the column width should be autofit and they wont be visible as they are white, once you drill on plants, the values come up.
So if your table has no border, that will be perfect.
    Hope this helps.

  • Dynamic Lead column repeats the same value

Hi, I have a dynamic lead column with reporting groups attached to them. Also, I have date column in the data column which is also dynamic. In the layout the reporting group field shows only the first entry in the variable and repeats itself. When I enter the data and save it, data is saved in the right reporting groups...If I replace day with week(and no further changes in the layout) reporting groups show up...is it something to do with date field?
    Reporting Group       01/01/2008      01/02/2008  01/03/2008
    1                               $100                $ 120          $ 150
    1                               $110                $ 130          $ 160
In the database it shows the second line reporting group as 2(which I want) but in the layout it shows up as 1.
How can I make it show the correct value. Thanks,
    Bulusu

    Hi,
When any of the dynamic lead columns or data columns you select them as dynamic, automatically the Infoobject is filled by the system and it would be greyed out. Copy the same infoobject like 0FISCPER, 0FISCYEAR and paste in the Description of the layout (for that dynamic column). Then it will pick up on its own.
Otherwise if you put your own description like date, month and year etc. for all the columns or rows, as the case may be, it will give similar description.

    Ravi

Hi, I came back to working on "Dunning by collection strategy with BRFplus". According to your sugestions, I raised the level of components:
    SAP_BASIS Level 09
    SAP_ABA level 09
    PI_BASIS level 09
    SAP_BW level 09
But still I have the same short dump.
Shoudl we raise any other components? Maybe you know note, which resolve this problem?

  • XML Publisher - Dynamic Data Columns Issue

    Hi,
I am creating a amortization report where I need to show the amortization schedule for unearned revenue. Customers have signed different years of contract and I need to show the amount as per their remaining contract months. So if there are 2 month remaining in the contract then I should show the data for 2 months only and if there are 10 months then I should display 10 months. If we run the report for both customers then it should display two lines in report. For first customer the data should be only for 2 months and for second row(customer) there should be data for next 10 months. These months should be columns in the report(like excel columns, not rows). I need to display all months in columns instead of rows.
I have acheived that using Dynamic Data Columns as mentioned in the user guide. Everything is working fine except following issues -
    1. How to create page level total?_
I have created page total in my template using <?add-page-total:TOTUREV;'UREV'?> and displaying using <?show-page-total:TOTUREV?> but when I run the report in excel format these page total do not display. These columns are static columns not dynamic.
If I run the report in pdf format then the static column total is displayed correctly.
    2. When I run the report in excel format then report run fine and it shows all the columns properly but if I run the report in pdf format then the dynamic column are not displayed in their own columns, all the columns are overwriting each other in a single columns itself, its not expanding.
    3. How do I get the total for the dynamic columns?_
I need to display the page level total for the dynamic columns also, how do I do that?
    4. When I run the report in excel format the 2 decimal places of the numbers are gone(it works fine in pdf output), like 12.50 becomes 12.5 and 14.00 becomes 14. I need to maintain those 2 decimal places. I have tried using <fo:bidi-override direction="ltr" unicode-bidi="bidi-override"><?format-number:CVALUE;'999999D99'?></fo:bidi-override> but this does not solve my problem completely. It shows the values correctly in excel but then I am not able to do any calculation on those columns, looks like it converts them to text values.
Any help is really appreicated. Please let me know if you need the xml template and data file.
    Regards
    Hitesh

    Hi Hitesh,
Can you please upload your RTF and XML template file? I will try to spend sometime on this issue.
    Cheers

  • SUB Totals within a Dynamic Data Column

Has anyone ever calculated SUB Totals in a Layout with a Dynamic Data Column?
The TOTAL for all data is expressed on the Data Column tab of the Layout as C(1):C(1) - 0FISCPER / Posting Period is the Dynamic Characteristic.  When the system actually displays the 12 columns of data for the Year, the formula for TOTAL is also adjusted - no problem here.  But the user also wants SUB Totals, by Quarter, within the Year.
Any insight or suggections are appreciated !
    Thanks,
    Lyle

    Hello,
use variables Q1, ..., Q4 for the quarters and create
    data colums as follows
    1 Q1 dynamic = X
    2 Total C(1)
    3 Q2 dynamic = X
    4 Total C(3)
    5 Q3 dynamic = X
    6 Total C(5)
    7 Q4 dynamic = X
    8 Total C(7)
    9 Year Total C(2)C(4)C(6)+C(8)

  • Grouping of chracateristics by using dynamic data columns

    Hi all,
I want to create a BPS Layout (BW3.5) with the material in the lead column and a KeyFigures, the year and the salesgroup in the data column. The salesgroup is the dynamic characteristic.
    Example:
    I want to have:
    SG1 2007/   SG1 2008/   SG2 2007/   SG2 2008...
What the system is doing is:
    SG1 2007/   SG2 2007/   SG1 2008/   SG2 2008
My question is: how can I change the grouping of the columns from year to salesorg?
    Can anybody help me?
    Best regards,
    Rainer

    Hi Rainer,
    Thanks for your appreciation.
I thought there is not material in your lead column, okay if your case like that i suggest you like this.
    I suggest to .
    To choose Layout Category:
    1. Key Figures in Data Column
Define data column dynamically for : Sales Group
And make the fiscal year, and material as lead column.
In the data column tab, define the key-figures there and mark Dynamic checkbox.
Or if you want to group based on the fiscal year, you can make the fiscal year as you dynamic data column.
Hopefully it can help you a lot.
    Best regards,
    Niel.
thanks for the points you choose to assign.

  • Dynamic DataGrid columns

How can I get this example to wok with <mx:HTTPService>
insead of the inline <mx:XML> ?
    Dynamic DataGrid columns
Example of how to dynamically create DataGridColumns
    A completely dynamic DataGrid example.
This example uses the xml from the Flexstore example. It
examines the first product node and uses that to create the
definitions for the columns. There is some example logic to change
    the columns properties.
It then instantiates the GataGrid and its columns array,
assigns the properties, and then the dataProvider, and then adds
the dataGrid to the application container.
The example is fully self-contained, since a portion of the
catalog.xml file is included in the mxml.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

  • Header description of dynamic data columns dynamically

    Hi all,
How is it possible to get Header description of dynamic data columns dynamically??
    Thanks and regards,
    Harry

    Harry,
Don't have the system right now so going by memory.
There are 2 parts - you need to see how you specified the text replacement of the variable.  Say on 0fiscper if you specify characteristic value it would show I think 001.2007, 002.2007, etc.  If you use one of the text types, it would be based on the description.
I always have to think if I need to put the infoobject name or the variable name in the layout definition in the description part.  Off the top of my mind, it would be the infoobject name i.e. 0fiscper for example

  • How to dynamically set column name in Answers

    Hi.
How to dynamically set column name in Answers, for example I want to put presentation variable in column header. Is this possible?
    Regards,
    Goran Ocko
    http://108obiee.blogspot.com/

May be a rude way .. but it works.
Add narrative view and use Java script to change the column headings based on the variables.
    <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
    var a = document.getElementById('idResultsTableParent');
    var rows= a.getElementsByTagName('tr');
    rows[1].cells[1].innerText ="@{Presentation Variable}";
    </script>
Editing the same post to remove irrelevant information.

    Vikram

    Hi Vikram
Oh gosh, me and my big mouth!
Patch 5381032 has two references to issues with links. You might want to discuss your scenario with Oracle and ask them if this patch would resolve your issue.
Another solution would be to upgrade to 10.1.2.2 (available as a patch on MetaLink) which has most of the fixes from all of the patches applied. Again I would advise you speak with Oracle Support as they are the only one who can actually confirm whether this particular issue was fixed in this release.
Are you by any chance seeing zero numbers display as 00 and are you seeing any graying out of icons? If so, then patch 5345595 (sometimes referred to as 5345528) fixes this and is a good patch to apply if you haven't already done so.
All of these patches require a password which can only be obtained from Oracle by raising a service request to Support and stating the issues that you have.
    Hope this helps

  • Dynamic  Lead Columns / Data Columns

    Hi
I want to use dyanmic data columns restricted by a characteristic relationship of another variable.
When I use the characteristic as a lead column, it works perfect, I only see the rows for valid lines.
When I use the characteristic as a data column, I see all possible characteristic values of that characteristics. The ones that are not valid are not ready for input, the ones that are valid are ready for input.
I would like to use dynamic data columns but only display the columns with a valid characteristic relationships (just the way it works when I put the characteristic in the lead column)
    Should that work?
    Thanks

Enable Zero-Suppression on your column structure. Then in your Query properties, enable zero-suppresion for columns. That way only characteristic values with data will be shown and not all possible characteristic values present in the master data tables. I should note that there should be some data in the fact table which links the keyfigure to the characteristic value, otherwise it will be suppressed.

Planning Cycle                           Start Period                                End Period                Total Months
    JAN                                         JAN                                           JUN                            6
    FEB                                         FEB                                            JUN                            5
    MAR                                       MAR                                            JUN                           4
According to planning cycle my period column should change dynamically. Please let us know how to create planning layout with dynamic period columns. I donot want to create the planning layout with 12 period columns to upload the data.
