Dynamic email based on DB?

I have CDO set up that I can mass email from a Access DB and
it works fine. My client would like to be able to send HTML based
email. (I have created a HTML email) How can I allow the client to
send HTML email without having to code in the body of the email. I
would like to allow the client to basically create the info. for
the body and then have it insert into the HTML and then send the
HTML out.
I am using Dreamweaver CS3, ASP, Access and VBScript.
How can I dynamically based on the DB allow the client to
simply type the body of the email and save it to the DB then have
the body added to the HTML code after it calls the info. from the
DB and send it out in HTML only so it displays in the email as
basic HTML.
I hope that I have explained this good enough.
thanks

I'm not sure what you're asking, it seems you have a good
idea about the
process.
In essence you would do exactly as you say, save the body in
your database
and construct the complete HTML document using that snippet
from your
database.
strBody = "<html><head></head><body>"
& BODY_FROM_DATABASE &
"</body></html>"

  • BizTalk SMTP sending dynamic email depending on logic

    Hello - I have a database where 2 rows are set like this :
    AppName    key    EmailIDs
    a1              A
    [email protected], [email protected]..
    a1              B
    [email protected], [email protected]...
    Now, depending on 'status' field which is promoted , I need to dynamically send emails out. How to approach this.
    Below is my code
    mailOut(SMTP.DeliveryReceipt)=true;
    mailOut(SMTP.Subject) = "Sub: Alert" + payloadOut.status;
    mailOut(SMTP.From) = [email protected];
    mailOut(SMTP.SMTPAuthenticate)= 0;
    mailOut(SMTP.SMTPHost) = myHost;
    mailOut(SMTP.EmailBodyTextCharset) = "utf-8";
    mailOut(SMTP.EmailBodyText) = myEmail;
    mailOut(SMTP.SMTPTo) = 'Email IDs present in database";
    sndUpdateEMail(Microsoft.XLANGs.BaseTypes.Address) = "mailto:" + myEmailInvoice;
    sndUpdateEMail(Microsoft.XLANGs.BaseTypes.TransportType) = "SMTP";
    System.Diagnostics.EventLog.WriteEntry("Received Response from XLANGSetup","xlang setup");
    Finally I need to send emails based on like this :
    If status = 'Ok' and 'key' = A THEN Send email of all data present in Config_value.
    if status = 'Error' and key =B THEN send email of all data present in Config_value.
    Please Advise.

    If your conditions are not gonna change, in that case using "If", "Else" statements can solve your issue easily.
    You can use the if-else statement in expression shape (but not in message assignment shape). Following is the syntax:
    if (Yourcondition)
    else
    example:
    if (true)
       //Statement to write for true-condition
    else
    //Statement to write for non-true condition
    So in if condition you can perform the check over Status and Key value and later within the braces you can assign the values to the variables required for SMTP dynamic message creation

  • Dynamic subject based on data structure (JD Edwards)

    In JD EDwards TR 8.98.3.0 it should be possible to create a dynamic email subject based on a data structure that is connected to a report definition. I have managed to create the data strucure with two elements (DOCO and DESC), this data structure is connected to a report definition in which I have stated that the subject must contain the first element (DOCO): Purchase order &1.
    In the report definition I mapped the element DOCO from the data structure to the XML-element that contains the order number.
    Unfortunately the e-mail does contain the statis text "purchase order" but it doesn't contain the order number (DOCO) from the XML-file.
    Can anyone give me a hint for what I have done wrong?

  • Dynamic Flash based screensaver

    Hi there!
    We're looking at doing dynamic flash based screen savers and
    I'm looking for some ideas/suggestions on:
    1. How complex it is
    2. Best way to source the content- xml, txt, etc.
    Any help or advice you can give is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi
    Yes create a flash file that reads in an XML file from the
    server.
    Then you can use Creator to make it into a screensaver.

  • Dynamic email recipients

    Hi,
    I want to execute an exceptional report. say for example, for customers with sales volue more than 10000 USD, we want to send mails only to those customers that have sales value more than 10000 USD. How do we configure this dynamic email recipients ?

    Carolina,
    Thanks fr your reply. I have done sending exception reports to sap users, but, I had to mention the users in the email recipient list. Here, in this scenario, I dont know the email recipients list, since this list depends on the exception report. Only the users having the exceptional sales values need to get the email not everyone.
    because of this, the recipient list will vary everyday based on the exceptional values.
    solution ?

  • Hide multiple rows in a dynamic table based on the row value.

    Hi,
    I need to hide multiple rows in a dynamic table based on the specific value of that row.
    I cant find the right expression to do that.
    please help

    Go to the Row Properties, and in the Visibility tab, you have "Show or hide based on an expression". You can use this to write an expression that resolves to true if the row should be hidden, false otherwise.
    Additionally, in the Matrix properties you should take a look at the filters section, perhaps you can achieve what you wish to achieve through there by removing the unnecessary rows instead of just hiding them.
    It's only so much I can help you with the limited information. If you require further help, please provide us with more information such as what data are you displaying, what's the criteria to hiding rows, etc...

  • Dynamic LOV based on Current user

    How do i make a dynamic LOV based on the user id of the current user.
    Also how to insert values from a form into a database
    Can anyone please help me out.
    Thanks

    Use portal.wwctx_api.get_user to get the currently logged in userid.
    The simplest example of a form manipulating data is to create the form based on a table. All DML works automagically. You can base your form on a procedure with dummy columns and do your own DML if you wish. Lots more flexibility that way...

  • Creating a dynamic lov based on a column

    Hi,
    I want to create a dynamic lov based on a column in a database-table.
    Eg. the query
    'select code, description from code_table'
    is the contents of the column 'lov_query' in the table 'parameters'.
    For every parameter there can be a different lov-query, but the result is always
    two columns (code and description, number and name, etc.), exactly what you need to use in a lov.
    I've written a (dbms_sql) function that takes the parameter-id and returns the lov_query.
    create or replace function "GET_PMR_LOV"
    (pmr_id in NUMBER)
    return VARCHAR2
    is
    cur INTEGER := DBMS_SQL.OPEN_CURSOR;
    fdbk INTEGER;
    l_pmr_id NUMBER(9) := pmr_id;
    l_stmnt VARCHAR2(2000);
    begin
    DBMS_SQL.PARSE
    (cur, 'select pmr.lov_query from parameters pmr where pmr.ID ' || ' = 'L_PMR_ID', DBMS_SQL.NATIVE);
    DBMS_SQL.BIND_VARIABLE (cur, 'L_PMR_ID', l_pmr_id);
    DBMS_SQL.DEFINE_COLUMN (cur, 1, l_stmnt, 2000);
    fdbk := DBMS_SQL.EXECUTE (cur);
    fdbk := DBMS_SQL.FETCH_ROWS (cur);
    IF fdbk > 0
    THEN
    DBMS_SQL.COLUMN_VALUE (cur, 1, l_stmnt);
    return (l_stmnt);
    ELSE
    return null;
    END IF;
    DBMS_SQL.CLOSE_CURSOR (cur);
    END;
    But now I'm stuck on how to pass on this statement in HTMLDB
    as an dynamic lov, I don't seem to be able to execute this statement
    into the two display and return columns. Any ideas?

    Hello again,
    This lov is on an updatable report-column where the user has to make a choice from an non-named, popup and query-based lov. In the lov-query box I have just put:
    "return get_pmr_lov(:p41_param_id)" (without the quotes ;-)
    Here's my latest version plus an alternative, which both seem to work fine:
    create or replace function "GET_PMR_LOV"
    (pmr_id in NUMBER)
    return VARCHAR2
    is
    cur INTEGER := DBMS_SQL.OPEN_CURSOR;
    fdbk INTEGER;
    l_pmr_id NUMBER(9) := pmr_id;
    l_stmnt VARCHAR2(1000);
    begin
    DBMS_SQL.PARSE (cur, 'select pmr.lov_query from paramaters pmr where pmr.ID ' || '= :L_PMR_ID', DBMS_SQL.NATIVE);
    DBMS_SQL.BIND_VARIABLE (cur, 'L_PMR_ID', l_pmr_id);
    DBMS_SQL.DEFINE_COLUMN (cur, 1, l_stmnt, 1000);
    fdbk := DBMS_SQL.EXECUTE (cur);
    fdbk := DBMS_SQL.FETCH_ROWS (cur);
    IF fdbk > 0 THEN
    DBMS_SQL.COLUMN_VALUE (cur, 1, l_stmnt);
    return (l_stmnt);
    ELSE
    return null;
    END IF;
    DBMS_SQL.CLOSE_CURSOR (cur);
    END;
    create or replace function "GET_PMR_LOV2"
    (pmr_id in NUMBER)
    return VARCHAR2
    is
    l_pmr_id NUMBER(9) := pmr_id;
    l_stmnt VARCHAR2(1000);
    BEGIN
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'select pmr.lov_query from parameters pmr where pmr.ID = :1'
    INTO l_stmnt USING l_pmr_id;
    return l_stmnt;
    END;
    The error-message remains the same, unable to bind :p41_param_id !

  • Mail does not create new emails based on the highlighted mailbox, but rather the receiving mailbox of whatever individual email happens to be highlighted. This was not the case prior to Lion. Is this a bug or an error on my part?

    Mail does not create new emails based on the highlighted mailbox, but rather according the receiving mailbox of whatever individual email happens to be highlighted. This was not the case prior to Lion. Is this a bug or an error on my part? (I do have the setting for creating new emails from the highlighted mailbox checked.)

    The questions about time was not only because of thinking about the Time Machine, but also possible impact on recognizing which messages remaining on a POP server (doesn't apply to IMAP) have been already downloaded. In the Mail folder, at its root level, in Mail 3.x there is a file named MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded3 that should prevent duplicate downloading -- some servers may not communicate the best with respect to that, and the universal index must certainly be involved in updating that index file. If it corrupts, it can inhibit proper downloading. However, setting the account up in a New User Account and having the same problem does not point that way, unless your POP3 server is very different from most.
    That universal index is also typically involved when messages are meant to be moved from the Inbox to another mailbox -- in Mail 3.x the message does not move, but rather is copied, and then erased from the origin mailbox. That requires updating the Envelope Index to keep track of where the message is, and should keep track of where it is supposed to have been removed after the "Move".

  • How can i create a dynamic structure based on my input from a select-option

    Hello,
    This is to develop a custom report in FI for G/L Balance based on company code.
    I have an input select-option for Company code.
    Based on the range of company code my output layout should be modified.
    I am not very much sure to create a dynamic internal based on the input from a select-option.
    Can any one please let me know how can i do this.
    I would appreciate for anyone who turns up quickly.
    Thank you,
    With regs,
    Anitha Joss.

    See the following program, it builds a dynamic internal table based on the company codes from the select option.
    report zrich_0001 .
    type-pools: slis.
    field-symbols: <dyn_table> type standard table,
                   <dyn_wa>.
    data: alv_fldcat type slis_t_fieldcat_alv,
          it_fldcat type lvc_t_fcat.
    data: it001 type table of t001 with header line.
    selection-screen begin of block b1 with frame title text-001.
    select-options: s_bukrs for it001-bukrs.
    selection-screen end of block b1.
    start-of-selection.
      select * into table it001 from t001
                     where bukrs in s_bukrs.
      perform build_dyn_itab.
    *  Build_dyn_itab
    form build_dyn_itab.
      data: index(3) type c.
      data: new_table type ref to data,
            new_line  type ref to data,
            wa_it_fldcat type lvc_s_fcat.
      clear wa_it_fldcat.
      wa_it_fldcat-fieldname = 'PERIOD' .
      wa_it_fldcat-datatype = 'CHAR'.
      wa_it_fldcat-intlen = 6.
      append wa_it_fldcat to it_fldcat .
      loop at it001.
        clear wa_it_fldcat.
        wa_it_fldcat-fieldname = it001-bukrs .
        wa_it_fldcat-datatype = 'CHAR'.
        wa_it_fldcat-intlen = 4.
        append wa_it_fldcat to it_fldcat .
      endloop.
    * Create dynamic internal table and assign to FS
      call method cl_alv_table_create=>create_dynamic_table
                   exporting
                      it_fieldcatalog = it_fldcat
                   importing
                      ep_table        = new_table.
      assign new_table->* to <dyn_table>.
    * Create dynamic work area and assign to FS
      create data new_line like line of <dyn_table>.
      assign new_line->* to <dyn_wa>.

    Hi,
    If you do not need mail package for other reasons, I suppose it is enough to provide a value in Dynamic Configuration for fields "THeaderTO" and "THeaderCC" and the select "Use Adapter-Specific Message Attributes" and "Variable Transport Binding" in receiver Mail Adapter.
    see <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/6b/4493404f673028e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">SAP help</a> for more details.

    HI,
    See fragment from help,
    Specifications for mail attributes:
    &#9675;       Under From, specify the e-mail address from which the message is sent.
    &#9675;       Under To, specify the e-mail address that will receive the message. If you enter more than one address, you must separate them with a semicolon.
    If you have specified an IMAP server under URL, the message is saved in the specified folder but is not sent to the receiver specified under To.
    &#9675;       Under Cc, specify the other e-mail addresses to which the e-mail is to be sent.
    These addresses are visible to the receiver.
    &#9675;       Under Bcc, specify the other e-mail addresses to which the e-mail is to be sent.
    These addresses are not visible to the receiver.
    &#9675;       Enter the Subject of the e-mail message.
    &#9675;       Specify whether you want to encode the content of the e-mail message. You have the following options:
    &#9632;       None
    &#9632;       Base64 (default value)

  • Configuring Receiver mail adapter with dynamic email addresses

    Hi,
    I'm a newbie to XI and I have problems in configuring the Receiver mail adapter with the "Use Mail package" option selected. I am trying pickup a file (using file adapter on Sender side, picks up a simple XML file) and after mapping in XI, send the message as an email message to dynamic email addresses.
    Everything works fine if I did not select the "Use Mail Package". But when I choose that option it errors out. I followed this blog posted on SDN -
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/07/mail-adapter-xi--how-to-implement-dynamic-mail-address
    The following XML message is my source
    <ns0:Messages xmlns:ns0="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Somenamespace">

             </Mail>
          </ns1:studentlisttest>
       </ns0:Message1>
    </ns0:Messages>
    What I want to accomplish is, I have a simple message mapping where the Studentdetails are mapped to, lets say Customer details. For convenience lets keep it simple, StudentId --> Customerid, (student)Firstname --> (customer)Firstname, (Student)Lastname --> (customer)Lastname
    I would like to get the Customer details as an XML attachment or in the body of an email with from, to and subject corresponding to that specified in the <Mail> node.
    I followed the instructions posted on the blog and it works fine if I don't map the studentdetails to customerdetails. I did multimapping, with one source message (the xml file I posted above) and two target messages (customerdetails and Mail, which is the external definition posted on the blog). I beleive I'm missing something here. Could somebody please guide me through this?
    Thanks
    Karthik

  • How to create dynamic context based on a structure defined in the program?

    Hi Experts,
             I need to create a dynamic context based on a structure wa_struc which i have define programatically.
    When I pass wa_struc to structure_name parameter of create_nodeinfo_from_struc, i get a runtime error:
    "Parameter STRUCTURE_NAME contains an invalid value wa_struc."
    How to create dynamic context based on a structure defined in the program?
    I have written the code like this:
    TYPES: BEGIN OF t_type,
                v_carrid TYPE sflight-carrid,
                v_connid TYPE sflight-connid,
             END OF t_type.
      Data:  i_struc type table of t_type,
             wa_struc type t_type.
      data: dyn_node   type ref to if_wd_context_node.
      data: rootnode_info   type ref to if_wd_context_node_info.
      rootnode_info = wd_context->get_node_info( ).
      clear i_struc. refresh i_struc.
      select carrid connid into corresponding fields of table i_struc from sflight where carrid = 'AA'.
    cl_wd_dynamic_tool=>create_nodeinfo_from_struct(
      parent_info = rootnode_info
      node_name = 'dynflight'
      structure_name = 'wa_struc'
      is_multiple = abap_true ).
    dyn_node = wd_context->get_child_node( name = 'dynflight' ).
    dyn_node->bind_table( i_struc ).
    Thanks

    Hi Michelle,
              First of all Special thanks for your informative answers to my other forum questions. I really appreciate your help.
    Coming back to this question I am still waiting for an answer. Please help. Note that my structure is not in a dictionary.
    I am trying to create a new node. That is
    CONTEXT
    - DYNFLIGHT
    CARRID
    CONNID
    As you see above I am trying to create 'DYNFLIGHT' along with the 2 attributes which are inside this node. The structure of the node that is, no.of attributes may vary based on some condition. Thats why I am trying to create a node dynamically.
    Also I cannot define the structure in the ABAP dictionary because it changes based on condition
    I have updated my code like the following and I am getting error:
    TYPES: BEGIN OF t_type,
    CARRID TYPE sflight-carrid,
    CONNID TYPE sflight-connid,
    END OF t_type.
    Data: i_struc type table of t_type,
    dyn_node type ref to if_wd_context_node,
    rootnode_info type ref to if_wd_context_node_info,
    i_node_att type wdr_context_attr_info_map,
    wa_node_att type line of wdr_context_attr_info_map.
    wa_node_att-name = 'CARRID'.
    wa_node_att-TYPE_NAME = 'SFLIGHT-CARRID'.
    insert wa_node_att into table i_node_att.
    wa_node_att-name = 'CONNID'.
    wa_node_att-TYPE_NAME = 'SFLIGHT-CONNID'.
    insert wa_node_att into table i_node_att.
    clear i_struc. refresh i_struc.
    select carrid connid into corresponding fields of table i_struc from sflight where carrid = 'AA'.
    rootnode_info = wd_context->get_node_info( ).
    rootnode_info->add_new_child_node( name = 'DYNFLIGHT'
    attributes = i_node_att
    is_multiple = abap_true ).
    dyn_node = wd_context->get_child_node( 'DYNFLIGHT' ).
    dyn_node->bind_table( i_struc ).
    l_ref_interfacecontroller->set_data( dyn_node ).
    But now I am getting the following error :
    The following error text was processed in the system PET : Line types of an internal table and a work area not compatible.
    The error occurred on the application server FMSAP995_PET_02 and in the work process 0 .
