Dynamic HtmlPanelGrid - Not Refreshing

Hello,
I'm using the binding attribute of the <h:panelGrid> tag to reference a dynamically created HtmlPanelGrid on a backing managed bean. The HtmlPanelGrid is constructed on the fly based on data from the database.
All is well the first time the JSP is displayed.
When I navigate away from the JSP and return to it later via an action method that returns a navigation rule string, the HtmlPanelGrid is not getting refreshed.
I suspect the original HtmlPanelGrid is hanging around out there in session somewhere ... possibly in the ViewRoot/component tree. I can't understand why it's not getting reset on the subsequent visits to the page. I was under the impression that if you navigated to a page via a navigation rule that the component tree is refreshed. Is this not the case?
I have tried assigning unique id's, playing around with "transient" on the component (with unpredictable results, I might add). Not sure what fooling around with client side state saving would get me -- or if I even want to fool with that.
I have been using JSF now for nearly 2 years and really like it, but this has got to be the most frustrating thing I have come across.

I'm happy (but a little embarrassed) to report the duplication was a result of a session scope List that was not getting cleared at the beginning of the page prep process. JSF appears to be working fine -- the problem was 100% programmer error!

If you are not on XP and you did not install the activex components on the computer that the tool is running on, it will say that error, can you try adjusting the MTU to 1492, 1400, 1300 or 576 and check which one would hold your connection? Your IP should change automatically and the Internet information also should be automatically obtained by your computers (as with the changes in the router), try that first and check if it still disconnects you.

Multiple Select List does not Refresh with Dynamic Action

All,
Scenario:
Using APEX 4.2.2, I have a Select List page item (P4_SPONSOR) set to allow multiple values which has a dynamic LOV to populate the list. What I would like to do is highlight the display values based on another page item's value (P4_DRIVER_ID). When I set the source of P4_SPONSOR to static text, such as a delimited string of 1:2:3:4, any display values where the return values are equal to the static text are highlighted when the page loads.
Problem:
The problem lies in trying to use a query as a source for P4_SPONSOR which is filtered based on the other page item, P4_DRIVER_ID. For instance, my SQL Query (returning colon separated values) returns the same as the static text noted above. In the query's WHERE clause, I specify that the driver's ID is equal to P4_DRIVER_ID:
SELECT sponsor_id
FROM sponsors_drivers_xref
WHERE driver_id = :P4_DRIVER_ID;
This, as I understand it, would necessitate a refresh of P4_SPONSOR whenever the value of P4_DRIVER_ID changes. So, I have a Dynamic Action that does just that. When executed on the page, I can see the P4_SPONSOR multiple select list actually refresh, but none of the display values become highlighted.

A dynamic action refresh of your select list will refresh the list of values (this is what you are seeing), it will not refresh the value of the item itself. In fact, it will remove any values that you had already selected. To refresh the value you will need to add additional dynamic actions.
Create another dynamic action with:
Event: After Refresh
Selection Type: Item(s)
Item(s): P4_SPONSOR
If this was a normal select list you could just create a Set Value action and use your query to set the value of the select list. Since this is a multiple select list your will need to get your colon delimited value first and then use some javascript to set the values of your select list.
Create an hidden page item name P4_SPONSOR_TEMP.
Add a true action to your new dynamic action:
Action: Set Value
Set Type: SQL Statement
SQL Statement:
SELECT sponsor_id
FROM sponsors_drivers_xref
WHERE driver_id = :P4_DRIVER_ID;
Page Items to Submit: P4_DRIVER_ID
Selection Type: Item(s)

Dynamic Repository Variables are not Refreshing in OBIEE 11.1.1.6

As of sudden the dynamic repository variables are not refreshing.
The same rpd is working fine in Test Environment.
If any change in the query of initialization block, it is fetching old result.
Even after refreshing in Analytics page, still it is showing old value.
Please help me in regarding this.

SkillBuilders modal plugin - Reports will not refresh

Hi all,
I'm attempting to use the SkillBuilders Modal Page 2.0.0 plugin, everything seems to work except the refreshing of the reports. When clicking on the links the modal page opens, I can make changes, and after clicking on "apply changes" the modal box closes and I am back at the originating page, however the reports have not refreshed. If I manually refresh the page or the reports - the reports change as expected. I believe my problem is in the Auto Close Dynamic action, but I can't seem to find it. There isn't any errors displayed in the error console either. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Hi Wayne,
You've got a job on trying to refresh a classic report using the standard dynamic action, it's not as straightforward as simply selecting the region.
The fastest way to achieve this (unless you MUST have AJAX refreshing of reports) is to change the action of the Auto Close event to Submit Page.
It's quick and dirty - but it works.

BTF in a region of a page of UI Shell(replace-in-place) not refreshing

We are using a Bounded Task Flow (BTF) in a ADF Region of a page, which is made using the dynamic template UI Shell with replace-in-place method(Only one tab refreshes all time with new content).
We are refreshing/invoking the new content using:

In the BTF, we have 4 view activities and once the regison displays with default activity and after navigating to 3rd view activity (navigation inside the region BTF), it displays the 3rd view activity content in region. However, If I click on a link (Left side navigation page) which refreshes the same taskflow (same as above), the ADF region is not displaying with default activity of this taskflow instead it displays the same 3rd activity of the taskflow, where the previous status.
What I understand is that if we set a taskflow tf1 with Main Contnet(as above) and if we try to set the same tf1 to that Main Content, the tf1 is not refreshing (the default activity is not coming up).
I tried the below solutions but not worked for me:
a. I refreshed the ADF region after setting the Maincontent as below:
AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(dynamicRegion);
b. I tried to invoke the region bounded task flow with different parameters (hoping the BTF refreshes and executes from default actitiy). However this also doesn' help.
And I set the attribute 'refresh = ifneeded'.
Can we set refresh=ifneeded for a taskflow Call activity also?
Could you please help how we can refresh the ADF region BTF in this UI Shell(replace-in-place method)

Could you please give me other hints regarding taskflow (with default activity) is not refreshing from the region.
One more thing I observed in my case is that:
When the region is already with the given BTF(at 3rd view activity content) and when refreshed(tabContext.mainContent("btf....")) with the same BTF (*using page parameters changing*), then first the finalizer(of existed BTF instance) and next initializer(of the new BTF instance) methods of this BTF are invoking but the region is not refreshing with the default view activity content(instead it stays at 3rd view activity content only).
Please suggest me anything I can debug after BTF initialize() and rendering the page.

Dynamic TaskFlow Gets Refreshed on Catching a Contextual Event

Hi,
I am using Contextual events in my application. I have 2 task flows in my parent page. One TF is raising an event and the other is catching it. As my catching TF is a dynamic TF, I have specified the event map in it only.
Everything is working as intended only that my dynamic TF gets refreshed when it catches the event! I do not want that. I want to explicitly refresh any UI component that requires to be refreshed, not the whole TF.
So is there any specific property of task flows that make it to refresh itself when ever it catches any contextual event?
Also I have tried 'Refresh="ifNeeded"' and 'RefreshCondition="#{false}"' in my dynamic taskflow specification in the parent page but it does not make any difference.

Rahul,
there is no setting for this. If however the managed bean you setup for handling the dynamic region is in backing bean scope (or request scope) then chances are that the region is refreshed because the bean restes after the request (just assuming here). Yournot giving us much to chew on (no JDeveloper version, no implementation details etc. ) So its hard to provide further ideas. As a last resort, if you have a support contract, you can contact customer support with a test case

Attribute binding value not refreshed after transaction rollback

Using ADF Faces/Trinidad + ADF Data Bindings + ADF Business Components.
I was experimenting with task flows vs transaction control vs form validation and met the following problem.
First, here's a little intro to my application design. A page template defines the layout. There's only one page in the application using a dynamic region to show a dynamic task flow. The template defines a menu containing navigation items; each item action changes the current dynamic task flow id.
One of the flow starts with a data bound table listing users. Each row has an edit button to navigate to an edit form. The edit form is in a separate task flow as I want the automatic rollback triggered when a flow is abandoned.
The problem occurs when I quit the form clicking a menu item AFTER a validation error occurred. Transaction is rollbacked as expected, however when I go back to the form (whatever row I choose), the invalid value that failed the previous validation is shown.
It seems the attribute binding is not refreshed. To validate this hypothesis, I added a button that explicitly calls refreshControl on the attribute binding as shown below. When the button is clicked, the form shows the correct value.

    }I working on a possible workaround, but I've not succeeded yet. I'm looking into using the finalizer of the task flow (or possibly the initializer) to force a refresh of the control bindings.

I am experiencing similar strange behaviour, it sounds like it could be related, i am not using task flows though.
I have a read only table, and when a user double-clicks on a row an af:popup is displayed which displays an edit form (contentDelivery is set to "lazyUncached" in the popup). Pressing the cancel button on the edit form executes a rollback and hides the popup. However, after this has occurred, whenever another row (or the same row) is selected in the read only table, the edit form will display data from the old record that was rolled back. I've noticed that the old data is only displayed in editable fields, while the correct data is displayed in read-only fields. I'm pretty sure the rollback works properly, and the iterator is on the correct row, just it is displaying incorrect data in the editable text fields. I've tried implementing cancel functionality with both a rollback action and refreshing the row using REFRESH_WITH_DB_FORGET_CHANGES, but the same issue exists regardless of which method is used. I've also noticed that the application starts behaving correctly again if the commit button is pressed.
Has anyone come up with a workaround for this issue?
By the way, is there any way we can keep track of the bug numbers that are mentioned in this forum?

Files Not Refreshed

Building a JSP which dynamically creates an HTML page with an included javascript file using
<script LANGUAGE="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" src="myFile.js"></script>
The problem is when I make changes in the file myFile.js, the changes are not refreshed when I run the project. I have attempted to rebuild, exit jDeveloper and everything else I can think of yet it continues to use the old version. What is going on and why are the changes not reflected when being run?
jDeveloper 9.0.5.16.27 under Win2K.

Just to add to the fine advice so far, sometimes just toggling the View to Column View or whatever it isn't the back will update it.

Determining what site(s) has not refreshed from master database

Is there a way to determine what sites have refreshed at the master level ? Is there a system table or v$view that contains this information ?
I have a master read-only snapshot setup with an oracle 8i master and oracle 8.04 snapshot sites(54). I want to prevent my mlogs from getting too large and determine which sites have not refreshed as an aid to keeping the system healthy.
Any hints/help/pointers to documentation will be greatly appreciated !

JSP NOT REFRESHING PROBLEM

I am usng iPlanet 6.0 Application Server and iPlanet Web Server 4.1. Whenever i am changing the JSP it's not refreshing i.e the changes are not taking. But once i stop and restart the server its working

JSP_CACHE_SIZE = 0
and i guven even 10 in jsp_Cache_size.

could this be a problem with your machine/ISP caching the jsp page, even though you set the property to never cache, some ignore this.
Try 'shift' refresh and all should be well.

Finder window does not refresh under yosemite

I have a weird effect on my rMBP with the latest Yosemite:
Very often (not always) when I save a file from an application an open Finder window to the save location does not refresh. The new file is not shown! I can go in with Terminal and everything is fine, the file is there. I can edit its contents (eg. with vi or pico) and I can rename the file. However the Finder still does not show it. Not even closing and re-opening the folder help. The only way I found is to create a new folder and immediately delete it. That forces the Finder to update the window. It looks as if the Finder does not get *some* update events.
I do have XtraFinder installed, but deinstalled it and even after a reboot nothing changed, Finder still does not refresh its display. I cannot tell exactly when this started, but incidentally I run an update some days ago and installed Server 4.0.3 and upates to the latest Pages/Keynote/Numbers (however I do not use those, I am still and will stay with iWork'09).
I use Server on a MBP with dynamic address because I needed virtual domains for local testing, nothing really "serverish". It just provides a nice GUI for easy setting-up of virtual domains.
Any ideas? What can I do?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Can not refresh server manager Error:0x8007045b

OS: Windows 2012 R2 Core
Services: Hyper V
I was trying to remote reboot and the session hung. No worries I decided I could just reboot the next morning. So I rebooted the next day but when I go into server manager I get
an errror can not refresh server manager Error:0x8007045b. Did some research found suggestions to fix it using a DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth.
But then I get an error 1115 A system Shutdown is in progress. I attempt to fix this issue using pskill winlogon but the issue pursistest. I have restarted the server several times now. Not sure how to fix this.

Can not refresh page after save properly(When not saving master record)

I am using jdeveloper 11g R2 (11.1.2.3) JSF Facelet
In some use case I have Address as master table and Person as detail table
For some business reason I need to don't save same addresses
eg:
If +1 Test St+ is in database already and new user coming and adding this address with new person
I need to use the row in database not creating a new address
I do saving in doDML method of Address with some hashing algorithm and it is fine
My problem is that I can not refresh page after save properly
User coming to page think Adding a new address and a new person but in fact no new
address added because of business I describe above
Any ideas how I can implement this?

Hi,
from your description it is not clear why the page doesn't refresh. It could be a problem in your implementation code - who knows. What if you perform the address check on a command button that actually submits the new address? If the check returns true (address exists) you would call row.refresh(forget new row); and re-query the view object so the address coming from the database is displayed. If you wanted to use the doDML then yuou need to be aware that doDML doesn't help removing the row the user created. It just ignores the database update but the entity is still around, which in my suggested solution wont be the case.
