Dynamic Radio Buttons that offer dynamic output

I am wondering if coldfusion has the abilty to perform the task
I am looking for. I want to list radio buttons
as options, and depending on which radio button the user selects,
they are then offered a series of other radio buttons.
Is this something coldfusion can handle, or would a different language
be better suited for this?

You are looking for a javascript solution. CF or any backend can handle
dealing with the data, sending back and forth data about what radio button
list to show, etc easily. But if you want no browser refreshes, then you
need to look into javascript to display the list, use ajax to poll for
refined radio button options, then display. I recommend looking into jquery
and CF. CF can get the options from the database for you and serve to
jquery which is run int he browser which will dictate how to display it
nicely.

I have a radio button that loses value on validation error

Hi All,
I have a radio button that is normal and then goes to readonly when a condition is true. The page has region with items as well as a tabular report region
While in readonly state any validation error will cause the radio button to loose it's value.
?? Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Radio buttons that pass a value to a textfield

Hi everybody;
I’m trying to create a “Rating Matrix” for the evaluation of new raw material. On this form I create a group of radio buttons (i.e. Radio1 to Radio5).
Each radio represents a rating value “Poor=1, Fair=3, Average=5, Good=7, Excellent=9” and I would like to capture this rating (1 or 3 or 5, etc) into a Texfield.
I work in solving this issue without success, if any of you have any example that I could look at it, I will really appreciate.

Do you want to count the occurrence of each value and report that in a given text field?
Do you understand that when no radio button or check box when not selected has a value of the string "Off".
Assuming that the value for various radio buttons in a group is the value you want to test

How to create a radio button that changes colors

I'm using Acrobat X and ID CS5 on Mac OS X.
A couple of years ago someone on the forums explained to me how to create a button that changes color with each click. You can view a sample PDF at https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/52882455/colorcycle.pdf. They gave me the document JS and showed me how to set the properties of the button. I've integrated the button into a particular series of PDF forms and it's worked out very well.
Now I would like to do the same thing, but using a circle instead of a square. Can anyone tell me the best way to do this? Can I somehow set a radio button to cycle through colors in the same way? I design my forms initially in ID CS5 and then activate and format the fields in Acrobat X. I've tried using circles instead of squares in my ID document, but when I export to an interactive PDF, they're converted to squares.
Any ideas?

I understand how to make buttons cycle through colors-- the problem I'm having is that I'm trying to figure out how to make a circular button cycle through colors. When I export my ID document to PDF, my round button maintains it's original appearance, but when I click on it to cycle through the colors, it behaves like a square (see new PDF at https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/52882455/colorcycle2.pdf).
If I use a radio button, I can get it to cycle through colors, but I don't want it to have a black dot in the middle. Is there a way to format the radio button to not show the black dot when clicked?

Creating a form with radio buttons that users can fill, save, and e-mail back

Hi all,
I am new here, so please forgive me if this answer has already been answered. I have been looking around and still have not been able to find an answer.
I have created a pdf in InDesign and opened it in Acrobat to create a form out of that existing PDF. The form needs to contain radio buttons and text fields. When I save it to test it out on Adobe Reader (for the typical user), it says that I am only allowed to save it in its original form (without any of the changes) thereby making this form useless (I do not want users to print it out; I'd like them to email the entire PDF back to me).
I've looked online and found some answers saying that I would just need to enable commenting, but when I tried that, I could no longer select any of the radio buttons in Adobe Reader.
Any suggestions?

I'm on a Mac using Adobe Acrobat 7 Professional.

You won't see that in 7. It didn't exist until Acrobat 8. Though It would work with PDF's opened by Reader 7.
The only choice you have is connacting someone at Adob coporate and finding out how to sign up to a Service they have that will llow you to do that.
Caution: its very, very expensive and unless your fortune 1000 company you can't afford it.
OR you could upgrade to Acrobat 10 (if you have a Machine capable of running it - Intel Only) or Acrobat 9 (PPC and INTEL).
Note the feature they speak of only allows for 500 instances of any one PDF set up to do so.

Is there a way to present two or three radio buttons that will open up new fields based on the radio button pressed?

What we want to do is ask our new clients their preferred method of billing: Credit Card, Invoiced, ACH.
If they choose Credit Card, credit card info fields will show up.
If invoiced, Billing Address field shows up.
If ACH, bank account and routing number fields show up.
Is this possible to do?

Yes, this is one of the features of web-based forms in FormsCentral. You will use conditional elements (show/hide logic) to allow certain elements to hide or display.

You create all of your fields: Credit Card, Billing Address, and Bank routing and account number fields, and then only have them show up as a condition of which of the radio buttons the user selects.

Hi Harsh,
A better approch would be to create a selection-screen with 15 buttons to start and make invisible other radio buttons that you dont want in the at selection-screen output event.
You can try like below:
parameters: r1 radiobutton group rad1 default 'X',
                    r2 radiobutton group rad1,
                   r15 radiobutton group rad1.
at selection-screen output.
describe table itab lines n.
l_cnt = 15 - n.
do l_cnt times.
n = n+1.
concatenate 'r' n into l_radioname.      <<< n no of radio buttons wanted
loop at screen.
if screen-name = l_radioname.
screen-invisible = 1.
modify screen.

Dynamic-actions/expressions for Radio button in VC

I would like to know whether dynamic actions for radio-buttons are possible in VC??
I have a situation where, i have to display/hide an input-field according to the radio-button that i select.
Is this possible in VC??
Because, i do not find any place where i can write expressions for a radio-button so that it can take actions accordingly.

radio button with a unique identifier for each table item.
For example: the table will load all of the seminars
locations available in a certain state, the radio button will allow
the user to select the city in which they would like to attend and
that value will get passed to the registration page. The value of
each radio button would be equal to the location_id in the database
for each of the locations in the table (The table includes the
date, day, venue, address, hotel info, etc. details for each city.)
When I add dynamic radio buttons and set the value to the
location_id in the database, it allows the user to select multiple
radio buttons. I cannot find any information on how to
resolve.....??
Any help is appreciated.

Give each radio button the same name

Two radio button groups merging into one, and I don't want that. How do I fix it?

I have two sets of radio buttons that I want to be independent of each other. How do I do that? Just to be clear... I have one set with two buttons. The second set has six buttons. They are independent of each other - they just happen to fall in line one right after the other. LiveCycle keeps putting them together.
I have very limited knowledge and am learning as I go. Thanks for any help that you can give me.

Select the Radio button that you want to be independent of the other radio buttons, RIGHT click and choose Wrap in New Radio Button Group.
This way it can be selected along with other radio buttons..
One question here. If you want each radio button to be independent of each other, why not change them to Check Boxes instead of Radio Buttons.

How do you bind a radio button to a row in a table

Im developing a web page that does a search given certain criteria. It displays the results in a table and dynamically allocates a radio button for each row that is created.
I then want to be able to select the radio() button and display the row that was selected by the radio button on another page.
Im doing a project in college developing a online airline ticket booking system. The user searches for flights and is displayed back with the Outgoing flights and the return flights. Each flight that is displayed is given a radio button. The problem is that I want to let the user select the a radio button that corresponds with their choice of flight and display this flight on the next page.
Can anyone help me please with some code or ideas on how to go about doing it

Error in Radio Button Component

I wrote my problem in a past thread, but I haven't a final answer. I test my model to verify that "Centigon Input Manager" was not the problem and it is not.
I has another problem with a List Box Selector that I solved deleting their Dynamic Visibility from the List Box Component and put in a Canvas and putting the List Box without DV inside this Canvas. I did the same with the radio buttons and didn't work.I has one Panel with DV with three Canvas inside it and each one of Canvas with their own DV. Inside each Canvas I has one radio button component without Dynamic Visibility to be showed when I click a only push button. With a formula I define which of my 3 Canvas and their Radio buttons appear. Two of them was showed but one don't show anything, but the empty panel.
I put the Radio buttons directly over the Panel and put the DV to each Radio button and delete the Canvas, now show me the same 2 radio buttons and the only one radio button that didn't show now just show the left border and half of top border of component. This must be a component error.
Note 1: It's the same formula, the same features of each Canvas with their own DV. The Canvas panel is show when I click the push button but don't show one of my 3 options.
Note 2: I have Xcelsius 5.3.1.0 and Build 12.3.1.776
Any support from SAP or anybody that has the same problem? My client is waiting and I am delayed for product problems.

component to access the variable that you have defined in the base component.....
If the component where you have decalred the variables is your application class of the application then you can use

Invisible Selection Screen(Low and High) accordingly through radio-button

                     Currently I've faced some problem regarding selection-screen.Our user want that when he click P1(say) radio-button, then selection-screen "s1-high " is invisible and when he click P2(say) radio-button that time "s1-low" is invisible.

If user clicks radio button P2 then how can s1-low become invisible? Do you mean when radio button P2 is clicked program will not display the select option at all?Since If s1-low becomes invisible there is no point of s1-high in the display. Please clarify your requirement.
However, I think that if it can be something like if radio button 1 is pressed s1-low is visible. If radio button 2 is pressed normal select option is displayed. Please check the following code to achieve this:

Radio Button to make other field Mandatory

I have two Radio Buttons that I want when clicked on (either one) to make a Number Field mandatory. I have viewed many websites on setting a mandatory field but the script I am using will not work. I have tried a couple ways of writing it but I seem to be missing something.
I have used this script in the Show of: click & change
Here is the script that I'm using right now.

So, I put a quick form together to test your code.
On the change event of the radio button list (not the radio button itself), I added:
if (this.rawValue == 1) tfTest.mandatory = "error";
else tfTest.mandatory = "disabled";
In my case, the radio button with the value of 1 is the one I want to make the field mandatory. If you want either button to make it mandatory, then use:
if (this.rawValue == 1 || this.rawValue == 2) tfTest.mandatory = "error";
